Ch. 18

It was one week since the new family had made it home after the birth of Sophia Rose. Nearly everyone had made an appearance. Even Constance made good on her promise and showed up just a couple of days after settling in. The only ones left to have their first visit were Korsak and Frost. It hadn't taken Jane long to figure what had been keeping them.

"What is it? Can I help?" Jane spoke into the phone.

"Janie, we got it in control. We just broke a big lead. You just worry about that little angel. Frost and I will be by later if things go as well as I suspect they will." Korsak said evenly.

"Don't be feeding me some line Korsak. I will come down..." just before Jane could finish her threat, Frost's voice came through the speaker. "We're cool, Jane. Really. I've been dying to meet your mini you! We'll be there."

"I'm holding you both to that." Jane leveled with her strong voice.

- "You got it, partner."

- "You got it, Janie."

The detectives responded in unison.

"Really, Korsak? Enough with the Janie. Have you been spending time with Ma?" Jane half shouted and half whined.

He just chuckled and they all ended the call with their goodbyes.

It turned out Frost and Korsak were true to their words. Not only had they shown up that evening, Frost had also been accompanied by his mother, Camille and her partner, Robin.

"I can't tell you how proud I am of you both. Coming to terms with your feelings and pursuing a family without adhering to social norms like getting married first. Not that homosexuality is very near the average of that spectrum..."

Camille was brought back to the tender moment she was trying to express by a tug of the arm from Robin.

"I'm sorry girls. It's really nice to have a partner that supports you. However, it's equally as important to have someome that can reign you in, when need be." Camille expressed.

"I'm not reigning you in, just helping to keep you on topic." Robin oozed affection.

"We really are just so happy for you both. She's absolutely perfect." Robin nodded down to Sophia Rose, for she was held against her chest.

"Thank you, Robin and you Camille. We are so grateful you made the trip here. It's not always easy getting away." Maura said. Still overwhelmed by the presence of all the motherly figures including her own. When, not very far back, she hardly had any in her life.

"Though seeing Barry is reason enough, it's nice to have something or someone else to entice us to visit more." Camille enthused.

"Aww...you hear that Frost? I think that was you getting bumped off your throne." Jane teased with mirth.

"Actually, I'd like to tell you all that the mere presence of you was reason enough for our visit but, there's more." Camille interrupted Jane's assault on Frost's ego.

"What's going on, mom?" Frost questioned.

Camille stepped closer to Robin, wrapped her arm around her waist, and inhaled, deeply.

"We're moving to Boston!" She exclaimed.

-"What!"

-"Wow!"

-"Alright!"

-"What wonderful news!"

Was the chorus of surprise and support for the announcement.

"How is this possible?" Frost queried.

"So, Bare, we'd been putting in requests for transfers for the last few years and were finally granted permission." Robin informed.

"That's so great. I can't wait to have you both so close." Frost gave a peck to Robin's and Camille's cheeks.

"Jane, is that you?" Maura half shouted as she walked down the stairs, not wanting to wake the sleeping Sophia Rose she had just laid down to sleep.

"Mhmhrmme." Was Jane's garbled response.

"What was tha..." Maura got her answer before she could finish asking her question when she took in the detective's sight.

Jane had entered the house armed with, phone, keys, a six pack of beer, two plastic bags of chinese food, and a paper bag of egg rolls held in her mouth. The paper bag, being the cause of her indistinguishable retort.

"Oh, you always know just what I want, even before I do!" Maura took the bag from her perpetual savior and replaced it with her grateful lips.

"Mmmm...is that all it takes? A spontaneous chinese delivery?" Jane Effused between kisses.

"Much less, actually. It doesn't not work, though." Maura smoldered.

"Ooo...double negative. I never knew I had such an effect on you, doctor." Jane said with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, you have no idea, Detective." Maura challenged.

Both women made it to the kitchen counter and deposited their haul. Jane, torn between her ravishing hunger and wanting to ravish the beauty before her, released a sexy growl in frustration.

"Normally, I would never advise this but, eat fast so we can continue this upstairs." Maura pointed from the food to the direction of the master bedroom.

"You are the perfect woman." Jane stated with awe.

"Jaaaane!" Maura pouted.

"What? What's wrong, Maur?"

"I'm trying to be good here but, you saying things like that is making it quite difficult to leave you alone." Maura admitted.

This caused Jane to blush heavily. She was feeling the same desires. It had been six weeks sincd they brought Sophia home and between bottle-feedings, diaper changes, spit-up cleaning, and sleeping whenever possible, things in the romance department were lacking.

Sure, there had been kissing but Sophia was quite the mood killer when her crying would take a biological effect and Maura would have to relieve the pressure. With it being Jane's last week of maternity leave, things were becoming tense.

Jane put down the fork full of mu shu, grabbed Maura by the hand and headed for the stairs.

"Hon, you're starving. You were moving Robin and Camille into their new place. You need to eat. It's gonna get cold." Maura argued.

"That, my love, is what microwaves were invented for." Jane volleyed with a smirk.

"Actually, the microwaves of the magnetron, invented by Percy Spencer were used during World War II to find Nazi warplanes and was discovered later, by Percy LeBaron Spencer that the microwaves had melted a chocolate bar in his pocket. Nine years later, the first commercial microwave was put out on the market for heating foods. It was approximately the size of a full-sized refirgerator." Maura Google-mouth the history of the microwave as Jane smoothly guided her up to their room. Knowing once she started spouting facts, her attention would be focused only on that.

Finishing her spiel, Maura hadn't realized they had reached the bedroom.

"Oh!" Was Maura's response to Jane's rather abrupt slamming of their bodies to the back of the bedroom door.

Jane made haste of removing Maura's top and covered every inch of skin with her roaming hands. Moans, light and heavy escaped from Maura at the feel and Jane's were in response the ones elicited from her. Heat rose from the couple. It was a glorious feeling, being back in each other's embraces in such an intimate way.

"I love you." Jane husked.

"I love you, so so much." Maura whispered into Jane's ear, knowing this was a sensitivity to the detective.

Jane shuddered at the vibrations in her ear. Maura took that brief moment of weakness to push Jane down onto the bed. She climbed atop the raven-haired beauty and pushed themselves further up the bed, near the headboard.

Maura slid a thigh between Jane's legs and she could feel her arousal through the thin yoga pants.

"Oh god...Maur. More." Jane spoke as if this were her mantra.

Jane could feel the heat rising to her chest and the slight pain deep in her belly. Just as she was reaching her climax, the baby monitor sounded with some slight stirrings from Sophia Rose.

Her eyes, which had been shut tight in response to the lavish attention she had been recieving from Maura, bulged open at the the light whimpers.

Maura continued her pace after a brief pause and kissed Jane's lips. "I'm gonna finish you off. Don't you worry." Maura promised with a whisper.

That last breath in her ear and the pumping of Maura's fingers brought Jane to completion. Not too soon either because as soon as Jane came down, Sophia Rose began her high-keening cries.

"Let me go. It's the least I could do after that." Jane attempted to cut Maura's beeline to nursery off.

"You're so sweet, Janie. You just go get cleaned up and fed. I've gotta pump, anyway." She left the room with a kiss to the lips and a slap to Jane's backside.

Jane just shook her head and did as she was told.

"The perfect woman." She reiterated.

You all have been so great with adding the story to your follow/favorites lists. You guys rock!

Thanks for the kind words, too. :-)
Sorry if I don't always respond. I'm just awkward and don't know what to say other than thanks.

Wanted you all to know I'm getting close to completing this story. Normally, I just write each chapter as I go. There is no outline. Though I've had the end written in my head since the beginning, I only just began writing it out. This helped me gague about how much is left to write. I'm thinking 2-3 chapters.

Trust I'll tie up any loose ends or Q's. I'm kinda OCD that way.
