A.N. Well long time no see. So obviously I haven't been around lately for many reasons. First foremost school… Ugh it's a bane on my existence, ugh. So as some of you may have read I was going to be going on exchange. I will not be going but I'm not sad because I still plan on going to Japan. I decided not to go because of family issues. So that's another reason and my last is my inspiration has been terrible for this. I will finish it though. Anyways so here's chapter 18 the official chapter.
Just so you guys know when Hunni calls Amelia Lia chan it actually sounds like Ria-chan so I'm going to start writing it that way. Because Amelia in Japanese is アメリア or A-me-ri-a. Japanese is a fun language despite three writing systems.
Amelia walked unenthusiastically towards the host club. Today had been extremely irritating for her. To start off she had rolled out of bed landing unceremoniously on the floor in a quite painful position, after that she got up and showered only to not have any hot water, she then slipped on someone's not thrown away banana peel on the way to the bus stop, which Haruhi laughed it.
Then when she got to school she nearly ran into Yoshiro, not something she wanted to deal with after the morning she had already had. Satoshi wasn't there to glare him down since he had decided he would skip that day, said it added to his delinquent roll or something of that sort. After that she had got to her class and was glared at by the majority of the girls when she and Haruhi started a conversation that the twins interrupted. Amelia was fairly sure all the girls in her class hated her.
Lunch wasn't much better despite having forgotten her own and Haruhi being prepared as always, something still had to go wrong, and that happened with Amelia spilling her bottle of water all over her improvised uniform, so the next couple class periods she had to deal with damp clothes, which the twins made fun of.
So at this point in time she was prepared for something else to go terribly wrong, she had already come up with several scenarios in her head, and thus she was in no rush to get to the club. She let out a small sigh as she looked up the stairs, no she did not even have the energy for this she thought.
"Ria-chan!" Hunni called.
Amelia jumped and slowly turned around to look at Hunni and Mori with one hand on her chest. Mori looked at her quizzically or at least she figured quizzically.
"You scared the crud out of me sempai," Amelia said breathing slightly heavily.
"Oh, I'm sorry Ria-chan," Hunni said with a confused expression.
"You look tense," Mori said.
"Do I?" she asked him in response with a hint of sarcasm.
Turning back around she said, "Maybe it'd be better to just go home."
"Why do you say that, Ria-chan?"
"Because this day sucks," Amelia sighed.
"Why?"
"In short, I've fallen twice, had no hot water, Ran into someone I prefer not to, had damp clothes throughtout two class periods, and I'm pretty sure all the girls resent me in my class. Not that I really care what they think about me, but one can only put up with so many glares, and I really don't want have to add a glare from Kyoya to that list, then I really would have to dig a hole in the ground and become a hermit," she paused "Or I could retire to the shire, and dig a hole out of a hill. That would be a peaceful life, and Hobbits are quite nice."
Hunni and Mori both exchange concerned glances as Amelia seemed to go into a trance.
"Maybe we should tell Tama-chan about Amelia's day, and we could all do something to make it better," Hunni whispered to Mori.
Mori nodded in response.
"Alright, I'll go tell Tamaki you bring Ria-chan to the club," Hunni said and ran off.
Mori looked back at the now zoned out Amelia. He thought for a moment on how to get her attention. He reached towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Amelia jumped slightly and looked at him, and he withdrew his hand having gained her attention.
"Oh, Mori-sempai, sorry I kind of zoned out," she laughed nervously "Where did Hunni-sempai go?"
"He went ahead of us," Mori responded.
"Oh," Amelia said a she nervously shifted under his gaze.
"I guess we better catch up," she mumbled after a moment.
"Yeah," Mori agreed.
They both headed to the club. All the while Amelia had nervous knots in her stomach.
"Tama-chan!" Hunni exclaimed as he ran into the room.
"What is it Hunni-sempai?" Tamaki asked.
"It's Ria-chan," he responded.
"What? Something's wrong with Amelia?!" Tamaki exclaimed and looked at Kyoya.
"Don't look at me I don't know what's wrong with Amelia," Kyoya glared at Tamaki.
Tamaki looked back at Hunni and asked "What's wrong with her?"
"She's having a bad day, and said she was going to go live as a hermit, or hobbit!" Hunni exclaimed.
"Oh no! My second daughter can't live life as a hermit," Tamkia exclaimed then looked at HUnni, "What's even is a Hobbit?"
"I believe they are a fictional race created by J. R.R. Tolkien for the Lord of the Rings," Kyoya responded.
Everyone looked at him.
"Amelia and I have had long conversations on the topic. It is her favorite series of books and she enjoys the writing style of Tolkien," Kyoya continued.
Although all he got was a few more inquisitive looks. Tamaki had the most questioning look as he was trying to confirm if he and Amelia had a secret relationship.
"It's true she is as obsessed with it as she is with her future in film," Haruhi piped up "She even bought me the first book in Japanese."
"She did the same to me," Kyoya said to Haruhi.
"What?! Why did she leave me out?" Tamaki exclaimed.
"Maybe she's just not as fond of you sempai," Haruhi said as she shrugged.
Tamaki froze in shock and went to his corner of woe.
"Boss," Hikaru started.
"Shouldn't we be more concerned with the fact that Amelia is having a bad day?" Kaoru finished.
Tamaki stood "Right! Tomorrow we'll do something special for her!"
"Does that really help her today?" Haruhi asked sweat as she felt a sweat drop forming.
"Right, Kyoya why don't you take her home today," Tamaki said.
"How would that help her, Tamaki?" Kyoya sighed.
"Because…" He backed down under the sudden glare Kyoya was giving him, "Fine."
"I know Takashi and I can take her to a sweet shop after school," Hunni suggested.
"I don't Sempai she seemed to not be into sweets today," Haruhi said.
"We could take her to try on some of our mother's latest design," the twins said in unison.
Haruhi gave then a blank look, and said flatly "That's not really Amelia's thing."
The twins looked disappointed.
"Then we have no-" Hikaru started but was cut off by Tamaki.
"How about we all take her to a nice commoner's restaurant," Tamaki enthusiastically exclaimed.
"That's something that would cheer you up. It's not necessarily going to cheer Amelia up," Kyoya pointed out.
The group went quite all trying to come with an idea to improve Amelia's day.
After a few minutes of silence, and Amelia sneaking glances at her silent companion, she could no longer take it. So she decided to attempt conversation, with the best conversation starter she knew.
"So Mori-sempai," she started nervously "Have you seen Lord of the Rings?"
Mori thought for a moment before he shook his head no.
"Oh, well, umm…" Amelia didn't know what to say.
"Look the club," she said suddenly and picked up her pace she half jogged to the door.
She went in and was closely followed by Mori. She looked at the other club members who all appeared to have been deep in conversation till they came in.
"I feel like we missed something," Amelia said to Mori.
"Yeah," he said in agreement.
"I guess we'll find out later," she said and she walked over to Haruhi and Kyoya who were standing next to each other.
Tamaki clapped his hands together and said something about getting to hosting positions. Everyone went to their spots. Amelia simply followed Kyoya.
"So Kyoya,"she started "What did I miss earlier?"
Kyoya glanced over at her.
"Oh nothing but the usual, Tamaki has set out on another mission regarding you," he stated.
"Oh? May I inquire what it is now?" she asked feeling a bit concerned.
"You'll find out tomorrow," Kyoya stated.
"See now I'm considering skipping out tomorrow," she stated.
"That could be wise," Kyoya said "Or a bad idea."
"Always the cryptic," Amelia huffed as she took a seat on her normal couch.
"Amelia," Kyoya started but didn't finish his sentence.
"Yes?" she asked.
"What are you doing after the club?" he asked her.
"I'm probably just going home. Why?" she asked as once again she felt nervous.
"No reason," he responded.
"Okay…" she muttered.
He seemed to think for a moment before he continued with the conversation.
"I was curious if you think there are any good movies out in theaters," he said.
"Oh there are several that looked interesting, but that depends mostly on what type of movies you like, and in my case who the director is," she responded enthusiastically.
"In that case how about we go see a movie later? We can decide what to see when we get there," Kyoya stated as he closed his black notebook he had just written something down in.
"Yeah! That could be fun," Amelia said cheerfully.
"We'll go after the club's over then," Kyoya said and walked away.
Amelia sat there for a moment realization slowly coming over her. She was going to a movie with Kyoya. Just her and Kyoya. The only question that came to mind was whether they were going as friends or he intended it to be something else. Knowing Kyoya he could be up to anything. She shivered slightly, but she couldn't help feeling slightly giddy about the whole thing.
A.N. 2
So rounded about 1500 words of story. I have no good reason for waiting this long to update, and I still have no clue with the pairing. But what is this cliff hanger hmm? What is Kyoya's intentions? Let me know your thoughts on the chapter may give me inspiration for the next chapter, and for those of you who read the mistake of the lst chapter, which I deleted again I apologize for dark turn it took. This story is meant to be light hearted, I was just watching way too much Shounen Jump, not enough Shoujo haha..
