Hello my lovely readers. Welcome back! I hoped you liked my last chapter. I would just like to take the time to say thank you for reading and following my story. I do not own TMNT, but I would really like to. Now on with the next chapter.
Leo's P.O.V.
In my room I sat on my bed with a comic book in my hand, though not really reading it. It had been two days since Cade was kidnapped by her dad and Raph hasn't left her side. Even when Lizzy had launched herself onto Cade when she got home, Raph was right there. But that's only to be expected since they're together now. They had told us yesterday after Lizzy and Mikey had forced it out of them. Now it was Sunday night and each of my brothers were alone with their girls. Why is this different than usual? It was Valentine's Day and they wanted to spend time with the girls. This left me alone for the night. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy having the free time. Growing up with three brothers and being the oldest you learn to take alone time when given, but something was bothering me. Each one of my brothers had a girlfriend, but me. I mean, I'm happy they've each found someone to love and that will love them back, but I want that too. Someone who I could talk to and who would understand me, but of course because of how I look most of New York doesn't understand my family. Maybe it was for the better though. I mean, look where Karai got me. Besides, I have too many responsibilities being the leader. With a heavy sigh I set the comic book down on the bed, got up, and left my room and to the living room. On the way passing Lizzy's room, I could hear the couple giggle from behind the closed door. At the entrance of the hall, I could see the glow of the TV with two figures cuddled on the couch watching what looked like a horror movie. My guess was that the two on the couch were Raph and Cade. Not wanting to bother them I decided to head to the kitchen, passing Donnie's Lab where the last couple was on the way. Once in the kitchen, I grabbed a Coke out of the fridge and sat at the table. Just as I cracked the can open and took a long drink, I heard someone else entering the kitchen. I turned my head to find Master Splinter.
"Good evening Leonardo," he greeted heading over to the stove.
"Good evening Master Splinter," I replied softly back. I watched as he proceeded to pour himself a cup of tea from the kettle. He then came over and sat next to me. We sat there for a few minutes in comfortable silence, just sipping our drinks. Truth was, I really didn't feel like talking right now. It was with a sign that I lifted up the Coke can and chugged the rest of the soda.
"Leonardo, what seems to be troubling you?" Master Splinter asked in a fatherly tone.
"Nothing sensei, just a lot on my mind," I replied.
"Would you like to talk?" he questioned as I turned to look at him.
"No, not really," I told him truthfully. He sighed and began to stroke his chin in thought for a few seconds. I just looked at him, waiting for his reply.
"Very well, if you do not want my help that is fine, but why don't you take some time and think. Maybe take a walk," he wisely spoke as a small smile played on his lips.
"I… I think you right sensei," I agreed standing up.
"I am glad you think so," he replied. I gave him a smile before heading out of the kitchen, through the living room, and out of the lair. It didn't take me long to get to the surface and as soon as I did I leapt up onto the first rooftop I could. From there I began jumping from building to building, heading to my favorite spot in the city. Twenty minutes later I was on the roof of my favorite building across from Central Park. I sat down on the edge of the building, letting my feet dangle over the edge. Here I had the perfect view. As I sat there, I watched couples young and old walk through the park's entrance. Sadly, this only made me feel worse about my current situation, so I decided to do a little stargazing. As I lay back on my shell, I noticed that the sky was a lot clearer than normal. The thing is I have a secret love of stargazing. I guess watching all those episodes of Spacehero's is what really got me interested in the stars. No one knows my little secret, and I intended to keep it that way. Anyway, the stars seemed brighter than ever tonight. I mean New York isn't really known for their stars, but they were something else tonight. So that's where I spent the next two hours. By the time ten rolled around, I decided that I had better get going. So it was with a heavy sigh that I got up off my shell and stood up. Taking one last glance I the gate, I saw one last person leave the park. It was a girl who looked around my age and she was carrying a duffel bag. Knowing how bad the streets were at night, I decided to follow her home. So as she walked down the streets, I followed her via rooftop. It was a good idea that I did too, because after about 15 minutes of following her she was crudely pulled into an ally she was passing by the strap of her bag.
"Hey!" She yelled stumbling into the dead end ally before turning back to look at the three purple dragons that blocked the entrance. All three men grinned.
"Hello little lady," taunted the larger of the three.
"What do you want?" The girl said in a strong, calm voice while gaining a strong stance.
"Nothing much. Just hand over your money and we'll be on our way, right boys?" the guy asked while the other two laughed and nodded.
"Well I don't have any money, so you can just leave," she smiled, but never moving from her spot.
"That's too bad, but I'm sure there are other ways you could please us," he told her. With that, the three goons began to approach her and she began to back away. Though she still looked calm, her eyes told me she was scared. I took this time to jump off the building, landing silently in the shadows. By this time, the three had just about cornered her.
"Don't struggle girly, it'll be quicker that way," he smirked evilly.
"Step away from the girl," I announced from the shadows. All their heads jerked towards me.
"Who's there?" the head guy demanded while getting into a weak fighting stance.
"The guy who's about to kick your butt if you don't step away from her," I replied.
"I doubt that. Boys, get him," he commanded with a chuckle. Quickly his men ran towards me. Sticking to the shadows, I dodged a sloppy punch from one while grabbing his arm and launching him the opposite direction of me. The second man then came at me with a roundhouse kick. I swiftly ducked while grabbing his leg and gave a small grunt before throwing him towards the first guy. He landed with a thump. I looked towards the other guy and the girl. She was backed towards the wall as he looked towards his men before looking back towards me.
"Alright buddy, my turn," the man said pulling out a 5 inch blade.
"Come get me," I taunted. With a battle cry, he ran towards me. I dodged his first attack as he jabbed the knife at me. Then I punched him hard in the gut before sweeping his legs and he fell to the ground with a grunt. The guy proceeded to get up and back into a fighting stance. He charged again and this time got into close range. I dodged the knife left and right until I finally kicked him into the wall near his buddies. He slowly got back up, as did the other two, and they all took off running. Once they were both gone, I once more turned towards the girl. This time I had finally gotten a better look. The girl was tall, taller than Cade but shorter than myself and looked to be about my age. She had beautiful curly brown hair; big, loose, curls that went down to about her elbows with side swept bangs. She had tan skin; slightly tanner than Lizzy's lightly tan skin. She had a cute nose and big red lips, but the thing that stood out most was her eyes. She had big, beautiful brown eyes with long lashes. The girl wore blue converses, black skinny jeans, and a brown leather jacket. He could also see a baby blue scarf rapped around her neck.
"Thank you… for saving me," she told me inching away from the wall and towards me. Her voice had a hint of Spanish dialect, but it wasn't like she was straight out of Spain. It was like it had been passed down through generations with American blended in. But it sounded beautiful.
"You're welcome. So, you're alright then?" I asked staying in the shadows.
"I'm fine, what about you? Are you okay?" she asked, eyes filled with concern.
"Yeah, I'm good," I answered.
"So, do I get a name from my hero or what?" she asked, a smile on her face.
"A name? Oh, a name! Yeah, my names Leonardo, but everyone calls me Leo. What's yours?" I replied, somewhat stumbling over my words.
"My name is Katherine, but call me Katie," Katie told me. "So, now that we know each other's names, can I see the face that goes with it?" As I looked towards this girl I had only just met, I had a strange urge to show her, but I knew that I couldn't.
"I'm sorry, you can't," I told her sadly.
"Why's that?" Katie asked, a frown forming on her red lips.
"Not many people like the way my family looks?"
"Well, I'm different that most people. Will you please come out of the shadows Leo?" she asked giving a little pout folding her hands together.
"You promise you won't scream?" I sighed giving in.
"I promise," Katie smiled.
"Alright, here I come," I sighed as I inched my way out of the shadows until I was only five feet away from her. Her brown eyes widened and I immediately regretted coming out of the shadows, but soon her surprised expression changed when she smiled.
"See, that wasn't so hard now, was it?" She asked stepping closer.
"I guess not… so you're not… freaked out?" I questioned raising and eye ridge, a small smile playing on my lips.
"No of course not. You're a giant turtle, so what. Besides, you're a good person and you saved my life. So some people don't like the way you look, that just means they're too stuck up to see the real you. And I'm sure you have some friends," Katie smiled sweetly.
"Yeah I do. So you really don't mind that I'm a mutant turtle?" I asked rubbing the back of my head. Katie laughed and put her hands on her hips.
"Leo, what did I just say? Of course I don't mind," she laughed as I chuckled.
"Just checking," I replied. I watched as Katie pulled out her phone and checked the time.
"I'd love to talk Leo, but I got to get home. I am way late and my mom's gonna kill me," Katie said sadly.
"Want me to take you home. I can get you there faster than if you walk," I offered sticking out my hand. Slowly Katie took my hand. I smiled and led her over to the fire escape. From there I helped her up it and onto the roof. Up there I turned to face her.
"Have you ever had a shell back ride before?" I grinned.
"I can't say I have," she smiled.
"Well then, hop on," I told her turning around and kneeling a little bit.
"You sure Leo?" she questioned coming over.
"I wouldn't offer if I wasn't," I said.
"Alright," she agreed adjusting her bag over her shoulder before hopping on my shell and wrapped her legs around me.
"So where do you live?" I asked looking at her over my shoulder.
"In the dance studio on East 20th," she informed.
"Alright, now hold on tight," I told her before running forward and jumping off the building. I could hear her scream a little at first, but as I continued to jump her screams soon turned into happy laughter. We soon came upon a three story building with a sign on it that read 'Happily Ever After Dance Studio'.
"The window with the fire escape is mine," Katie said. I headed towards it and hopped onto it before letting Katie off my back. She opened the window and dropped her bag inside.
"Thanks Leo," she said turning back to me with a smile.
"No problem Katie. Well, I have to go," I replied sadly.
"Will I see you again?" she asked hopefully.
"Only if you want to," I said rubbing the back of my head and watched her smile grow.
"I would really like that. Do you have a cell phone?" she asked.
"Um, yeah," I replied raising an eye ridge.
"May I see it?" she questioned. I nodded pulling it out and handing it to her. I then watched as her fingers danced across it before she handed it back to me.
"There, text me whenever, okay?" she smiled.
"Alright, so see you tomorrow at say… 10?" I asked.
"Sounds like a plan. And Leo?" she agreed.
"Yeah?" I questioned. Looking towards her I watched as she inched closer and pressed her lips against my cheek.
"Thanks," she said after and backed away.
"N-no problem Katie. Night," I said while blushing, mentally cursing myself for stuttering.
"Goodnight Leo," she giggled stepping into her room and closing the window. I leapt onto the roof and began to run and jump from roof to roof with a giant grin on my face. I met a girl who not only didn't scream at me, but kissed me. She kissed me! Finally making it to one of the tallest buildings I let out a joyous yell that echoed all through New York. Maybe I will have what my brothers have after all!
*The next Day*
Katie's P.O.V.
I rolled over and glanced at my alarm clock. It was 6:24, almost time for me to get up. I hadn't slept at all last night. I kept thinking about Leo. Every time I closed my eyes I saw his blue eyes glowing in the dark with his laugh echoing in the background; so eventually I gave up. Looking back at the clock I watched the time click by until the alarm sounded at 6:30. Hitting snooze and sitting up I stretched my arms above my head before throwing over the covers and getting out of bed. Heading over to my closet, I pull out my white, fuzzy sweater, light blue skinny jeans, and from the bottom I grab my navy blue flats. From my drawer I pulled out a blue tank top, underwear, and a bra. I then proceeded to get dressed, but quickly to get to the bathroom. The thing was I was one of six kids. I'm the oldest at 15. Next is my brother, Luke, who was 13. Then there are my twin sisters, Ruby and Riley, who were 7. Next is my brother, Connor, who was 5. Lastly was my brother, Zachary, who was 2. You could say we had a pretty big family. Out of my bedroom and into the bathroom I went without any problems. In there I brushed my teeth, threw my hair into a bun with a red rose bobby pin, and did my makeup. Walking out of the bathroom, I see Luke standing next to the door half asleep.
"Good morning little brother," I greet.
"Morning Kate," he yawed entering the bathroom and closing the door. I then headed towards the stairs and went down to the second level where the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom were. In the kitchen I found my mom and the twins at the table. In the living room were the two youngest watching cartoons. I went into the kitchen to greet them.
"Good morning mama. Morning Ruby, Riley," I greeted sitting down next to my dirty blonde, green eyed sisters who were enjoying their breakfast.
"Morning Katie," they chimed together.
"Good morning baby girl," my mother, Olivia, smiled turning around and placing a plate of pancakes in front of me. My sisters looked just like my mom. My mom had a dancer's body with blonde hair, light green eyes, and full red lips. She and my dad had met in high school and have been in lover ever since. I smiled towards her before drowning my pancakes in maple syrup. Just as I stuffed a fork full in my mouth Luke entered the kitchen, his shaggy blonde hair barely grazing his brown eyes, and sat at the table.
"Morning Luke," mom greeted placing a plate in front of him before leaving to the living room and then returning with my little brothers; one by her side while she carried the other. She sat Zack in his booster and Conner sat next to me. I ruffled his brown, shaggy hair as his green eyes shined. I glanced at my youngest sibling who smiled with big brown eyes and a curly mop of brown on his head. One thing I noticed about me and my siblings is that we have lightly tanned skin. Anyway, soon we were all eating, including my mom. I glanced at the clock and it read 7:30, so I quickly finished my pancakes and chugged my milk. I got up, grabbed my dishes, and placed them in the sink. I went over to the couch, slipped on my leather jacket, and grabbed my bag.
"Bye guys, I'm leaving for school," I announced entering the kitchen again.
"Alright, but be home by 3:30. Remember, you have a dance class after school," she reminded.
"Don't worry mama, I won't forget. How can I when my mother is my instructor?" I smiled and got her to laugh. I then went down the stairs through the dance studio and out the door. I then started down the street towards Aprils. Turns out she doesn't live to far from me. I walk a few blocks before I see April, Lizzy, and Cade waiting at the bottom of her building.
"Hey girls," I greet approaching the group.
"Hi Katie," they chorused as we laced arms and began walking down the street.
"So, how was your weekend?" I asked.
"Pretty good, but the best part was yesterday when I got to spend time with my Mikey," Lizzy giggled from my right.
"Friday was pretty shitty, but it had a good side to it. And I have to agree with Blondie over there, yesterday was nice," Cade smiled from the end.
"That's because you spent all of last night smooching with Raph," Lizzy giggled and made kissing noises as Cade glared at Liz.
"Who's Raph?" I asked April as Cade and Lizzy began to argue.
"One of Lizzy's brothers and Cades boyfriend as of Friday night," she answered.
"That's right; doesn't she have four of them?" I asked.
"That's what she tells people. I'm dating one of them. And Mikey is one of the four, but she's dating him," April explained. I gave her a confused look until I remembered Lizzy was adopted.
"It was always different with Mikey. The other three were more brotherly towards her, but Mikey was never really like that. He would always try and make her laugh and do romantic gestures. You don't think it's weird, do you?" she further explained.
"No, not at all. I think it's cute," I answered truthfully with a smile.
"So anyway, how was your weekend Katie?" Lizzy asked me after she and Cade had ended their fight, bringing us two back into the conversation.
"Pretty good I guess. I mean yesterday I met this guy," I told them blushing a little. I heard Lizzy squeal while the other two 'ooed'.
"How'd you meet?" Cade asked.
"He saved me from some purple dragons and then walked me home," I told them, fibbing a little on the last part.
"Aw, that's sweet. What's his name?" Lizzy asked.
"Um… I can't really tell you, but I can tell you he has the most amazing blue eyes," I said in a dreamy tone.
"Alright… so Mr. Blue eyes then," Cade smirked as we approached the school.
"Yeah, let's call him that," I agreed as we unlatched arms and entered the high school and headed towards Lizzy and Cades lockers.
"Alright, we'll talk about more about Mr. Blue eyes at lunch. See you guys then," April told us before giving a small wave and heading down the hall.
"Yeah, see you two later," I told my two friends before heading towards my own locker. Pulling off my coat and putting it in my locker I grab my books and head towards first hour. I had a feeling it was going to be a long day.
*9:30 that night*
It had been a long day today. Every time I saw one of the girls I got bombarded with questions, mostly from Lizzy. Since I couldn't really tell them about Leo, I had to fib a little or just not answer them. They were starting to get really suspicious, but I got through the day. Then I had dance after school, which as nice. I love dancing, and now that my mom owns a dance studio, I can go down and dance whenever I want. So now I sat on the couch reading my book for English while my two sisters watched a show. Luke was in his room and two youngest were already asleep in the room they shared.
"Alright you two, bed time," mama instructed coming into the living room.
"But Mama," the two wined together, turning and looking towards her with big eyes.
"Don't you 'but mama'. Bed time, let's go," she replied putting her hands on her hips.
"Okay, goodnight," they agreed getting up and hugging our mom.
"Night girls," she replied.
"Night big sister," they chorused leaving mama and giving me a hug.
"Good night," I told them. They then left the living room and headed up to the room they shared. I turned towards my mama who smiled and came over to sit next to me.
"So how's my baby girl?" she asked wrapping her arm around my shoulders.
"Pretty good I guess," I replied closing my book and laying my head on her shoulder.
"That's good, so what have you been up to lately?" she asked.
"Not much really, just the usual. You know homework, friends, dance … and boys," I told her as she nodded.
"Boys huh. I never really heard of any boy until now," my mom smirked.
"Yeah well, that cause I just met him yesterday," I replied.
"Is that why you were late last night?" she giggled and made me blush.
"You could say that mama. Well, I've got homework to do so goodnight," I told her so I'd have time before Leo comes.
"Alright sweetie, go finish your homework. Goodnight," she replied giving me another squeeze before I got up and went upstairs to my bedroom. I looked at my alarm clock and it said 9:47. I had thirteen minutes before Leo got here. Quickly I gathered my dirty clothes in the hamper in my closet and then I made my bed. That was really it so I sat in my pink desk chair and made sure my room was perfect. My room had pink walls and gray carpet. My bed was on the far right wall in the corner near the window. It was a Victorian style iron bed, gold in color. My sheets were light blue lace with white lace around the edges and I had about four matching pillows on the bed with a few pink accent pillows. Next to it was a blue, round bedside table with an alarm clock and lamp filled with sea shells, a white shade on top. I had a white vanity that doubled as a desk to the left of my door. On it were a few folders, pencils, and my black laptop covered in stickers. On the far left wall was a white bookshelf with a few books on it, but it was mostly covered in photos, trophies, metals, really anything that was memorable to me. Next to that was a dark blue been bag chair. My closet was to the right of my door. To me my room was perfect, though I've had a few times to prefect it. I was knocked out of my thoughts when I heard a knock at my window. Quickly I hopped out of my chair and went by my window and when I opened my blue curtain's I saw Leo' smile. I smiled back as I opened the window.
"Hi Leo," I greeted leaning on the frame.
"Hey Katie," he coolly replied.
"So you wanna come in? It's kind of cold outside," I asked.
"I don't know, I mean I don't want anyone walking in and seeing me," he said rubbing the back of his neck.
"Don't worry, the four youngest are asleep and chances are that my other brother Luke is passed out and my mom's downstairs. Your fine," I smiled and moved to the side. He sighed and entered my room. I closed my window and turned towards Leo.
"So, did you get in trouble last night?" he asked.
"I got a lecture, but I didn't get grounded. I only got a warning not to do it again," I smirked.
"Well that's good," he smiled and began to wander around my room looking at everything. Eventually he made his way over to my bookshelf.
"This is a picture of your family, right?" he asked pointing to the family photo as I walked up and stood beside him.
"Yeah, that's my mom, my little brother Luke, my little sisters Ruby and Riley, my little brother Connor, and the youngest is Zachary. That was the day we first moved to New York in August last year. It was taken at Central Park," I told him pointing out each one.
"So you're the oldest?" he asked turning to me.
"Yep," I smiled.
"That's funny because so am I," he chuckled.
"What a coincidence," I giggled.
"So… where's your dad?" he asked pointing at the picture again.
"He was taking the picture, but I can show you what he looks like," I told him moving to another part of the book shelf and picking up a photo and then handing it to Leo.
"This is my Papa. He's in the Army. Right now he's stationed Iraq," I explained while looking at the picture of a well-built, tan man wearing his casual uniform with shaggy, curly brown hair, brown eyes, and a big smile on his face with the land in the background.
"I bet that can be hard," Leo replied placing the photo back to where it was.
"Yeah, sometimes. I mean we move a lot, but I think we're done with that for a while. Plus he always makes it home for the holidays and my parent's anniversary. He tries to make it back for birthdays too but that's a lot of birthdays," I said walking over and sitting on my bed as Leo followed and sat next to me.
"Well at least he tries," he smiled.
"Yeah… so now that I've told you about my family, tell me about yours," I replied with a sweet smile.
"Okay… I have three brothers, a father, and three really good friends who are like sisters to me," he explained.
"That's cool, so what do you like to do for fun?" I asked.
"Well I train in ninjistu, I like to watch Space Hero's, but I would say saving pretty girls is my favorite thing to do," he smirked looking at me, making me blush.
"You're such a turkey Leo," I smiled still blushing.
"I'm not a turkey, I'm a turtle," he chuckled getting me to laugh. "So what do you like to do for fun?"
"Well… I love to dance. I've been doing it since I could remember. Mostly because my mom use to dance and now she teaches others. And I like to run," I told him to which he smiled. From that point on for the next two hours we talked about everything; our likes, dislikes, dreams, secrets, our responsibilities of being the older sibling, and it was amazing. It was probably one of the best nights of my life.
Hey everyone! I'm Back. Sorry for the long wait, like really sorry. Just to let everyone know, I'm about to start another story. YAY! I'm really excited about it, but I will not abandon this one. I plan on working on both at the same time. Also, this story probably has 6 to 10 more chapters left because I want to start the sequel on the date I first started this one. Yes there will be a sequel and maybe even a third book, I'm haven't decided yet. So look out for the next chapter and my new story. And don't be afraid to criticize, give advice, or ask questions. In fact I ENCOURAGE it. So see you later. BYE!
