Note: Well... I have no idea why i'm writing this, it has been almost two years since my last chapter, I don't really expect that anybody will read this but, meh.
I own nothing! Literally, like, i am broke... so owning anything of Harry Potter would be way out of my realm of purchasing...
So summer was uneventful, other than the whole thing with the World Cup.
Marcus watched the world cup from the comfort of his room, that was until Death Eaters attacked it. That was when the wizarding world was flung into mass hysteria, Marcus's foster parents were concerned with what this meant for the future of the world, Marcus remembered watching the Cup intently, looking for strategies that the pro's used and trying to come up with plays for his new role as captain of the Quidditch team, he still wasn't sure how he had managed that.
Marcus was sitting in his room with a playbook on his lap, watching intently as the match progressed, then there were lights and then a symbol of a serpent and a skull exploded over the stadium. Marcus was overcome by the feeling that he knew that symbol, knew it intimately, but from where? From a history class? No, he never paid attention in class enough to remember that.
Not much after he thought that did Marcus black out.
Marcus awoke on his bed with a killer headache, he looked at the time with a confused expression.
According to his clock he had been asleep for 23 hours... wow... new record!
Marcus picked up his playbook and looked it over, nothing spectacular, although a page was dog eared? He didn't do that, not that he remembered.
Marcus didn't spend much time thinking about it, he threw the playbook into the bag he was packing for school and left to get some dinner
Marcus nonchalantly strolled through the platform 9 3/4 enterance, his foster parents dropped him off a bit ahead of time so he could spend some time looking for his friends.
Marcus scanned the train platform before boarding, he saw a few people he knew and waved at them, but nobody returned the gesture. Marcus felt a bit down about this, but moved to board the train.
Marcus noticed Melody, she seemed a bit down about something, so he moved closer to her to see what was wrong, when she noticed him she shook her head and moved away. Now feeling angry Marcus moved with purpose down the platform toward the less crowded rear of the train. He glanced up to notice a man standing a good distance off. The man seemed familiar in some way, but he couldn't think of form where.
Marcus's luggage jostled a bit and he had to lunge to keep it from collapsing off the cart. When he looked back up the man was gone.
Dismissing it, he moved into the train and found a vacant compartment to occupy.
Marcus pulled out a pillow for the ride, he gave it a good punch for his anger, then sat back and took a few breaths to calm his nerves.
He began to think of his training routine for "his" team for the coming year
Marcus was in the middle of a thought about close maneuvering drills when he heard a voice coming from just inside the compartment.
"Mind if i join you here?" said the black haired Gryffindor girl he met last year.
Dazed by the sudden interruption to his thought Marcus replied, "What? Oh, hi, long time no see. How was your summer?"
"It was pretty uneventful, you?"
"I could complain... but..." Marcus said sarcastically
The dark haired girl smiled a shy smile.
Marcus noticed bags under the girl's eyes, it looked like she hadn't slept in years!
Their conversation continued for hours while the train chugged along the track towards its destination, signaling the beginning of what would be a very, very interesting year for the students of Hogwarts.
