Alfred leaned his head back with a heavy sigh; his whole body ached from the broken rib and bruises but he couldn't stoop Mattie had been missing nearly an hour.
It had started so fun in the morning the local semi pro hokey team was having some charity match against the neighboring pro team. When Mattie had seen the poster he gave the most pitiful puppy dog eyed look that anyone had ever seen; Alfred couldn't help but give in the end. Canada loved hockey so much and they had never seen a real pro team play. The match had not been that good it was more of a beat down but Mattie was happy and that's what mattered. As they had left the ring a loud crack of thunder caused the lights to flicker, and rain poured down on the crowded causing complete chaos. That's were he lost him; in that big crowded. Mattie was shy and never liked crowds' but thunder was on a much worse scale who knows were he had run off to trying to find a hiding spot.
He looked at his phone maybe he should call Francis for help but he thought about the writer had been out all night partying again and was most likely still asleep, and Arthur he shivered at the lecture he would receive for losing Mattie in the crowd and closed the phone again with a sigh. If he headed back to the stadium he might find Mattie hiding in one of the cafes or at the food court waiting for him.
As he approached the front gate Alfred could just make out an umbrella by the ticket booth a small figure dashed from under it, quickly latching onto him, he looked down too see two scared violet eyes starring back.
"its ok I found you well go home and get out of this storm" he mumbled
"You found him. it was the awesome me that found him" came a voice
Alfred looked up and saw a tall man approaching he had white hair and pale skin the only thing that made him not look like a ghost was his red eyes and dark blue suite that he wore.
"Who are you?"
"Well that's rude way to address your brother's rescuer. And I am the awesome Gilbert"
"How did you know I was his brother?" Alfred demanded the man turned and started to walk away mumbling something about ungrateful to the awesomeness that was him
"He told me" the man called over his shoulder
A soft almost squeak of a voice could be heard from under his coat
"Bye Prussia" he looked down at Canada and saw his brother starring silently at the man who just raised his hand and waved without looking back.
Canada had spoken! America's brother had not spoken since that night so many years ago and the word he said Prussia struck a nerve Alfred looked back and saw the man had already vanished amongst the crowd waiting at the bus stop. He tried to recall the old group that had escaped so many years ago one of the oldest had received the mark of the forgotten nation of Prussia. All that came to mind was a slightly aggressive hyperactive boy that loved to torment some of the younger kids. Could it really have been him? He wondered as they headed home and why had Mattie chosen to speak after so many years? He sighed looking up at the dark clouds this night would be a long one.
