There was darkness, black and suffocating. Like swimming in ink. Sounds here and there, taunting me, making me stretch out toward it only to have it escape my reach. It was disconcerting. I knew I was standing, but the ground seemed to shift under my feet, and there was nothing around to catch my balance on. I tried calling out for John or Sherlock but they didn't come. There was nothing but darkness. And then flashes of light, and then pain, first like a stab, and then it felt like my body was on fire, and I fell to the ground. I didn't even try to hold back my screams, afterall, who was there in the dark to hear me?

Suddenly, I went from complete darkness to light, from being alone, to seeing two people. John was sitting over my legs, pinning them down, with Sherlock behind me, legs on either side of me, with my back against his chest, hands holding my arms around my stomach, while John's hands were on my face.

"Sofia! Sofia, it's me, John.. you're safe.. you're ok. Hey.. it was just a nightmare.. there you go." John soothed, brushing moisture away from my cheeks, relaxing a little as he saw me starting to focus on him.

I relaxed back against Sherlock behind me, and sniffled a little as I looked at John, relaxing my arms so I wasn't straining against Sherlock's grip anymore. "I.. Oh, god.. there was pain." I whimpered a little, closing my eyes, and I felt Sherlock's hands release my wrists so that they could more comfortably wrap around my waist.

"Shhh.. It was only a nightmare. Probably repressed memories from your captivity." Sherlock spoke near my ear, and he let his smooth baritone roll out quietly like a blanket, letting me relax a little more.

John was still watching me worriedly, but he nodded a little, brushing my hair back. "It's alright.. I'll go get you a glass of water.." he said softly, but I didn't want him to go.

I quickly untangled my arms from between them and grabbed the front of John's shirt. "No." I managed to get out, licking my lips a little. "Stay.. please.." I whispered , watching as John just nodded.

"Come on, love, lets lay you down.." John said, glancing over my shoulder at Sherlock before he moved off my lap, removing my hands gently from his shirt, he helped me to slide down while the long-limbed detective moved out from behind me. With a little maneuvering, we were laying in a somewhat familiar position. Sherlock was behind me, one arm around me, just a bit below my breasts, and pressed close along my back, while John shifted until he was pressed close to my front, his arm across my waist, resting on Sherlock behind me, his other arm stretched out to pillow my head, hand resting on Sherlock's shoulder, and Sherlock's free hand curled up under the pillow. To anyone else looking, it might seem that we were just a tangle of limbs but it didn't seem to care to any of us, we were all together, they were providing the comfort I needed after my very disturbing nightmare, though I was a little too scared even to close my eyes at this point.

Squirming a little, I got one hand down to clasp it over Sherlock's arm, the other grabbing onto John's shirt again as I breathed in their combined scents. "I'm sorry." I whispered to them. "How long as I asleep?" I couldn't see a clock from my position, nor did I want to.

Sherlock kissed the back of my head gently. "Shhh. No need to apologize." He reassures as he looked over my head at John, lowering his head a little to nuzzle my hair out of the way, placing a light kiss on my shoulder. "Just relax.. We've got you." he whispered softly in my ear.

John kissed my forehead softly. "Almost three hours, actually. We were just getting ready to come to bed ourselves." He murmurs softly to me, kissing my cheek gently, looking at the detective.

I felt them both shift, and I managed to turn my head enough to see them share a tentative, soft, and very chaste kiss which made me feel like it wasn't something I should have seen. So I turned my head away, hiding in the pillow a little.

"Hey.." John whispered softly, unable to get a free hand to turn my head back, so he kissed my temple softly. "Hey now, you don't have to hide. We told you before, we're all together. The three of us. I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable. Honestly, I couldn't tell you why I did it, it just seemed.. appropriate. As much for our reassurance as yours." He admits, blushing a little.

Sherlock went back to lightly kissing the back and side of my head, and occasionally my shoulder. "This is new to all of us. John has never been attracted to a man before, I've never really been attracted to anyone before, and none of us have been in monogamous relationships before, I would assume." I could feel him smile slightly against my skin. "If that's what you want of course. We don't want to pressure you into anything." Even though from his tone of voice I assumed he thought we were already a couple, or something along those lines.

I just nodded a little, and blushed. "Never seen two men kissing before.. it felt rude to stare." I admitted, and then I took a deep breath, licking my lips. "I am.. open.. to what you were suggesting before.. and now." I felt the need to say. "Just maybe not all at once." I murmured, shifting one arm to slip it around John's body instead of clinging to his shirt, tugging on Sherlock's arm a little as I shuffled a little closer into John's body.

Sherlock pressed up close behind me, which left his and John's head's relatively close. "Of course, Sofia. Whatever you want." He soothingly reassured, dipping his head to kiss mine softly through my hair, before he settled down comfortably, glancing at the covers. "John, could you pull the covers up? You're the one with the free hand." He jokes.

John smiles and I felt him shift until the covers came up around us, creating a sort of cocoon for me since for them to be covered, they had to cover my head a little, but that suited me just fine. "Alright?" John asked after settling the blankets down, and I nodded against his chest.
