Chaotic Resolve

A week had passed since Loki had been brought to Asgard, Eris hadn't seen or heard from him since he had been taken straight to his intended cell before Eris could say anything. And even she had to admit, she had been miserable, and this caused a chain reaction with the twins, since they acted upon what they saw from her, and this worried everyone.

"Eris, dear talk to me." Frigga begged as she spent another day with a moping Eris, and she looked over at her daughter-in-law, as she held Hellem who was trying to sit up on her own.

"What is there to say?" Eris asked her.

"Why do you look so glum?" Frigga asked.

Eris sighed. "Because I broke Odin's rule, but Loki is my husband how could, Odin expect me not to do anything. I can never stay angry at him, he knows that." She looked over at the Queen. "I'm so sorry my Queen, but please don't take my children from me, they are all I have left of him."

Frigga looked at Eris, and she immediately felt sorry for her. "It's alright Eris, let me talk to Odin. I will make him see things my way."

Eris nodded, before she got up at the sound of her sons whimpers and she walked over to his cradle, reaching in to pick him up and soothe him. "It's alright now darling."

"Does Loki know of them?" Frigga asked as she watched Eris and her son.

"Yes, he knows, he was overjoyed to hear it." Eris confirmed, holding her son close to her.

"Has he seen them?"

Eris shook her head. "Only memories that I passed to him."

"Do you think he would like to see them?" Frigga asked.

"I know that he would, but Odin would never allow it." Eris sighed. "The children would love it also."

Frigga nodded, thoughts running through her mind, she now had to convince Odin not to be harsh on Eris, and to also convince him to allow Loki some time with his own small family. It certainly wasn't going to be easy, Odin was stubborn – very stubborn.

That night, after she had helped Eris to put the twins to bed, she went to her rooms and found Odin on their balcony. "Odin…"

"Ah Frigga, my Queen, where have you been?" He asked, his voice soft and tender as he even bared a smile, his eyes looking upon his wife.

"I have been with Eris, she is very troubled my love." She walked over to him.

"What is troubling her?" Odin asked.

"You must promise me not to react too harshly on her." Frigga told him.

"I promise." Odin told her, though now he was wary.

"She broke your rule over herself and Loki, but surely you expected it, she is a young wife and mother of two beautiful children, and she missed her husband very much."

"She has still broken a rule that I made, she must be punished." Odin walked back into their room and grabbed his staff, walking towards Eris' room, with Frigga running after him and telling him to stop.

At hearing the commotion of his parents, Thor's head poked out of his room, and realising what was happening, he grabbed Mjolnir and managed to get to Eris' room before Odin and Frigga. Once inside, he shook her awake, causing her to suddenly sit bolt upright as she heard the noise, and she looked worriedly at her children, getting up and running to them. At seeing them still there, it made her tenser, she knew why Odin was coming to her, and she knew what he was going to do to either her or her children, and she wasn't going to let it happen.

"Stay beside me Eris, I won't let him harm them." Thor told her.

Eris nodded, clicking her fingers and hers and Thor's armour appeared on each of them, before she looked back at her children. Her eyes only moved to look forward as she heard the door burst open, and Odin strode in.

"Eris of Tartarus!" He thundered, his voice causing the children to wake up and started crying, which had Eris closer to them, quietening them easily.

"Odin, leave us be." Eris told him.

"I am King, you take orders from me girl." He thundered.

"Father please, you know that she and Loki love each other." Thor told him. "She didn't mean to break your rule, but you know that she wasn't going to just stop showing her love for him after these few months."

"Silence Thor." Odin ordered, and he walked to Eris. "I warned you what would happen, I warned you that your children will bear the price of their mother's betrayal to her king."

"Then punish me, I have hurt your vanity Odin that is all, they are only five months old, they don't deserve to be punished."

"Fine then. Guards, arrest her!" He moved away as guards suddenly grabbed Eris. "Bring her to my hall, and bring Loki too." He looked at Frigga and Thor. "The children are the responsibility of both of you, she will be kept in a cell for the rest of the night." He walked away with the guards and Eris.

On the other hand, Loki was lying on his bed in his cell, he wasn't able to sleep due to the commotion that the guards had created as they passed on the news of what was happening upstairs.

"The King has asked for Loki to be brought before him in his hall. The princess is there too, something about her breaking a law." One of the guards was saying as he and another guard walked into his cell and tied him up once more, in chains.

"This should be entertaining." The other guard muttered as they led Loki through the corridors towards the hall. When they got to the hall, Loki's eyes narrowed in on his wife, who was sat on the steps leading to Odin's throne, a chain wrapped around her ankle, stopping her from moving. When she saw him, there was a faint trace of happiness towards him in her eyes.

"Well, well Odin, a bit late to be asking to see me isn't it?" Loki asked.

Odin just looked at him. "She broke my one rule Loki, but of course, you knew that, so I am going to punish her and make you watch." He looked at Eris. "Do you deny the accusations?"

"No I don't, and I'm not going to beg you to stop either. I am in love with Loki, Odin and I'm only here because you said that it was either me or our children who suffer." Eris told her, which got her a smack around the head by the guard holding her.

"You touch her and I will torture you." Loki warned the guard.

"Enough Loki." Odin warned him. "Eris of Asgard, as a princess I cannot punish you, but I here confine you to 5 days without seeing your children or having any interaction of any kind."

Eris nodded. "Fine." She looked over at Loki, who looked back at her.

"Is that all?" Loki asked, for Eris' sake, he looked rather bored.

"Not quite." Odin clicked his fingers, and another guard brought him his sceptre, which had both Loki and Eris tensing.

"Odin, you said that I wouldn't be punished." Eris told him, and she moved backwards, trying to get away from the guards.

"Maybe if Loki wasn't so cocky, then I would have kept my promise." Odin told her, and he watched the guards bring Eris closer, where he pressed the edge of his sceptre to her skin.

At doing this, there was a scent of burnt flesh, and Eris screamed as the sceptre burnt a mark into her arm. Her scream broke Loki's heart, and he struggled against the chains, just so that he could get close to her and protect her from Odin's pain, but that wasn't going to happen.

"Stop this!"

Everyone looked around at where the voice could have come from, and they found Frigga running towards them.

"Odin that is enough! She is only a child." Frigga brushed the guards away from Eris and pulled her into her arms. "You know how her shade reacts to pain." She looked down at Eris and whispered calming words to her, before she looked back at the guards that had hold of Loki. "For lord's sake, let him go so that he can comfort her."

As the guards undone his chains, Loki almost ran over to his wife, yet Eris happily went into his arms when she felt them form around her. Frigga watched them, smiling softly as Loki peppered kisses on top of his wife's head, before she looked at Odin and she gestured for them both to go into a separate room together. When they were fully alone, she looked at her husband.

"Please Odin, allow them to have time together, and allow Loki to see his children."

"Frigga, that is going against every law that I have made right now." Odin told her.

"He deserves to at least hold them, he was so excited to meet them when he found out that he would be a father, and everything that he done was for his wife and kids." She told him. "He only wanted to make them proud of him and give them both the best start in life."

"Frigga…" Odin sighed.

"Please Odin, it would be good for them and it would only be once." Frigga pleaded.

"Fine then, but only in Eris' room, and with guards at the door at all times." Odin told him.

"Thank you Odin." She smiled, walking back into the main hall, where Loki still had his arms around his wife, and she was tucked up into his hug. "Loki, Eris, Odin has agreed to allow for Loki to spend the day with you and the children, as long as it is in your room with guards at your door at all times."

Eris looked up at her husband. "Are you okay with that?"

"Of course I am, not let us go and see our children." Loki told her, he was almost giddy with his excitement of finally going to visit his children after these past long months.
