Welcome Jane
Days had passed since Loki and Eris had spent time together with their children, and at this moment, Eris was preparing for battle along with the other warriors and Thor.
"How long do you think that this war will last for?" Volstagg asked, just to make some conversation.
"No idea, I hope it is short though." Sif told them as she and Eris walked to them, dressed for battle, and Sif was tying her hair from her face.
"Sure you don't want to go and say goodbye to your precious prince?" One of the guards asked Eris, who took one look at his cocky face, and she drew her sword, nearly cutting his head off in the process. "One word and if you don't get killed in battle, your head will be mine." She warned, before she walked away sheathing her sword as she went.
When Eris was far enough away, Sif wacked the guard over the head with her shield. "If you ever speak to the Warrior Princess like that again, I will kill you on sight."
Whilst Sf and the Warriors were threatening the guard, Eris had gone down to the dungeons and she slid through the wall to appear near Loki's cell. When she found it, the sight made her smile, she found her husband ling on his back, his arms folded behind his head, one leg bent and his eyes were closed. He looked at peace, and to anyone else, he looked like he was asleep, but Eris knew better. At seeing that he was actually still awake, Eris tapped her foot on the floor.
At hearing the tapping of her sandals, Loki opened his eyes and he sat up, moving to look at her.
"What did I do to deserve a vision of my wife dressed for battle…" He faded out as he noticed that she was in full battle armour. "Where are you going?" He asked.
"To battle." Eris told him, she sounded just as carefree as she normally did, since war never bothered her. The chaos that came with it was her job after all.
"I can see that…But why?" Loki asked, walking to the edge of the barrier to try and be close to her.
"Because I want to help one of the nine realms, I'm not all chaos and destruction you know." She told him playfully.
"Of trust me I know, you're all woman." He smiled. "When do you leave?"
"In a few moments, I just came to see you quickly and tell you that Frigga will be bringing the children to see you." She told him.
Loki gave her a simple nod. "Be careful okay, make sure that you come home to me, to our children."
"Of course I will." She told him, sliding through the floor and she ended up on the other side of his cell barrier. Once inside, she kissed him gently on the lips, to seal her promise to him. "I will be home soon." She told him, before she left.
Eris joined the other warriors and they rode off to war, when they reached Vanaheim, they found the village being pillaged and in places burnt.
"For Asgard!" At the Asgardian battle cry, they all charged forward, only Eris and Sif remained on their horses, until they were forced to dismount to stop themselves from getting hit with weapons. In the middle of the fight, a jet of rainbow coloured light hit the ground and Eris had to duck quickly as Mjolnir suddenly flew through where her head had been, and she spun around to see Thor stood where the rainbow coloured light had been.
"We have everything under control!" Sif shouted to him.
"Is that why everything is on fire?" Thor asked, before he was suddenly tackled by one of their opponents."
"Well, we do like a bit of flare" Eris told him, before she was suddenly thrown to the feet of Lad Sif and Thor by a giant made completely out of rock.
"Eris, are you alright?" Sif asked as everyone stopped fighting and looked at the giant, before a pathway was cleared and it led straight to Thor, Sif and a now standing Eris.
"All yours" Sif told Eris and Thor as she took a step back.
Thor looked at Eris. "Do you want a go?"
"No thanks, I took the last one." Eris told him, gesturing for him to go on ahead. "All yours this time." Eris watched as Thor smirked, and walked over to the giant, and after the giant let out a loud roar, Thor swung his hammer and he hit the giant making it crumble. With the giant defeated, Eris and Sif watched as their opponents all lay down their weapons in surrender.
"Maybe next time, we start with the big one." Fandral told them, and Eris laughed.
"The battle certainly would have been much shorter." Sif commented.
When all of the weapons of their opponents had been gathered, Eris stood on a small flight of steps overseeing the clean-up of Vanaheim and the roundup of their opponents. She gave a smirk as she watched Sif hit back at one of them and he ended up on the floor, cowering from the warrior woman.
"Eris…" Thor and Hogun joined her, and she joined them in their walk away from the now prisoners.
"Hogun, Asgard can wait, stay here and be with your people." Thor told him.
"But, I am a warrior of Asgard, I must return."
"Hogun, the nine realms are at peace once more, you need to remain here ad help your people to rebuild their lives. If there is trouble, I will come and find you." Eris promised him resting a hand on her friend's shoulders as they stopped walking. "So Thor is right, stay here."
"Promise me that you will come for me if there is trouble in Asgard." Hogun told her.
"Only if we need more enforcements, but until then, remain here. Now go and be with your people."
Hogun bowed his head to the Prince and Princess, before he walked away, towards his people, and Thor looked at Eris.
"He's so stubborn."
"Mhmm, and I know of another man who is just as stubborn." Eris told him. "Come on, let's get back to Asgard."
Thor rolled his eyes at her comment, before he nodded. "Yes, let's." He looked at the sky as Eris disappeared. "Heimdall, when you're ready." He to then disappear in a shroud of rainbow coloured light.
Meanwhile, on Asgard, Loki was walking aimlessly around his cell, his children were sleeping in their cradles and he didn't know what to do now.
"Do the books that I sent you not hold any interest?"
Loki turned around and at seeing Frigga stood there, a playful smirk showed on his lips. "Is that how I am to while away an eternity, reading?"
Frigga looked at him. "Loki, I have done everything in my power to make you comfortable, just as Eris has done. But you must know that it was your actions which brought you here."
"My actions?" Loki asked, gesturing to himself as he looked over his sleeping children. "I was merely giving truth to a lie which I have been told my whole life." He moved a hand down his daughter's cheek. "Why would I imprison myself away from my children and my wife without a proper purpose?" His voice was quiet and withdrawn. "It must be so frustrating mother, have Thor and Odin asking for me every night." He told her, his voice turning to one of malice and discontent.
Frigga sighed watching him, now he looked like a broken man, unable to provide for his family and she could see how much he treasured the moments that he could have with his children. "Loki, your father-"
"He's not my father!" Loki suddenly thundered, and this caused his daughter to awake from her slumber and start crying. At hearing his daughter's cry, he walked over to her and picked her up, sitting on his bed as he rocked her, whilst Nathaniel tried to get himself to stand so that he could watch his father and sister.
"Then am I not your mother?" She asked him, her voice sad, yet she still felt a swell of pride as she watched him with his children.
"No, you're not." Loki told her, his own voice showing sadness as he watched her disappear, before he looked down at Hellem. "It's just us now Hellem, me, you, your brother and your mother. That's all we need." He kissed the top of her head, letting her fall asleep in his arms once more, as he waited for Eris to come home.
Upon returning to Asgard, the two royal warriors walked into the large dining hall where they could get something to eat and drink, just as Odin walked in.
"Judging from your arrival, the battle was successful and the Nine Realms are safe." Odin told them.
"Yes father, everything is still standing." Thor told him, he sounded proud.
Eris looked up from her small snack of a cracker and a glass of wine. "We left Hogan on Vanaheim, that way he can help his people to rebuild their villages."
Odin nodded. "That is fine, he deserved some leave, and you both do as well." Odin looked at the two warriors at the table. "Take the rest of the day off, get out of your armour, and go out and enjoy yourselves tonight with your warriors."
Thor and Eris nodded, looking at him. "I would, but I was planning on spending time with my children tonight." Eris told them.
"Alright Eris." He bowed to her and watched her leave, before he looked back at Thor. "Is there something on your mind?"
"Many things father, one being that the battle would have gone much smoother with you at the helm." He told him.
"You must think that I am a piece of bread which needs to be buttered so heavily." Odin told him, causing Thor to smile.
"That was not my intent." Thor told him instantly.
"What else is on your mind?" Odin asked his son as they walked over to the training courtyard, where they found some warriors, including Lady Sif training.
"Well, I was thinking about the Lady Jane and-"
"Ah, your human, surely a future king of Asgard would prefer to focus upon someone of his own kind, who won't be held down by trivial dangers, such as old age." He gestured to the one warrior woman out there – Lady Sif.
"Lady Sif and I are good friend's father." Thor told him. "But there was something else…"
"What else, my son?"
"Well I was thinking, maybe you should let Loki out now, to be with his family."
"Thor, Loki almost threw Asgard into open war, he will learn from his mistakes, and to do that, he must go through with his punishment." Odin told him.
"But father, you sentenced him to an eternity in his cell, how is he going to see his family that way?"
"He will see them when I decide, but other than that, Loki Laufeyson is no longer your concern Thor, you brought him home and that is that. Now he is my prisoner and that is how he will say."
Later that night, Eris was sitting on the balcony outside of her room, the twins were asleep, and it was late, yet she felt wide awake. She had a feeling that something bad was going to happen, but she didn't know what. Through the night of Asgard, she could hear the sounds of the warriors celebrating their victory in the tavern, see the lights of the lanterns that lit the streets and further out, she could see the Bifrost and with her trained eyes, she could make out Heimdall standing at the entrance, sword in hand. Eris sighed to herself, she knew that Loki would be asleep now, so she didn't bother going to see him, instead, she walked out of the palace and into the streets. Those who were still walking through the city, all bowed in respect to the young princess as she walked through the streets, and Eris returned the curtesy to them, before she made her way to the Bifrost.
"Heimdall, there is trouble." She told him.
"I know, it centres on the Lady Jane." Heimdall told her.
"Should I get Thor?"
"You should, he will want to hear this." Heimdall told her, and he watched her go.
Eris made her way through the streets into the tavern where she found Volstagg and Fandral laughing, and she walked further on to find Lady Sif.
"Sif, have you seen Thor?" Eris asked.
"Well yes, I was just talking to him…I believe he went to his room." Sif told her.
"Okay, thank you." Before Sif could ask what was wrong, Eris just seemed to disappear and she soon found Thor on his way to his room. "Thor!"
At hearing her shout him, he turned around and looked at her. "Lady Eris, what's the matter, is it the children?"
"No, Heimdall needs you, there is something wrong." Eris told him.
"Take me to him Eris." Thor took on of her hands and they both disappeared, ending up by Heimdall, and Thor walked into the Bifrost with her.
"Heimdall, what is the problem?" Thor asked.
"I have lost sight of the Lady Jane." Heimdall told him, and he watched as Thor called Mjolnir to him and appeared in his silver and red armour.
"Send me to Earth." Thor told him.
"Thor, I will see you when you return, I must go back and join my children." Eris told him.
"Of course, thank you for fetching me Eris." Thor told her as he disappeared into the Bifrost, whilst Eris disappeared in a blur back towards the Asgardian village.
