Thor's Plan

Days had passed since Odin and Eris had started to work alongside each other to deal with the duties that had surfaced after the Dark Elves attack, as well as showing Hellem and Nathaniel all that they would have to do being the royal children. However, Jane had been put under lock and guard by Odin, as she was the one who possessed the Ether and Odin had no plans to let her out soon, Thor wasn't very pleased by it. At this moment, Eris, Fandral, Odin, Volstagg and some other warriors were situated in Odin's Hall, discussing their situation.

"We are still unable to restore the palace shields our artillery cannot help us and Heimdall is unable to see them." Fandral explained.

"Eris, are you able to gain a lock on them?" Odin asked, looking at her as she stood with her hands on the table, looking at a holographic image of the palace of Asgard.

"No my King, my powers are coming up short." Eris sighed, her eyes were as black as coal and her shade veins were dark against her pale skin as she used her abilities to try and help, Hellem and Nathaniel played together under the table, the twins now able to sit up.

Fandral looked guilty as he carried on. "My King, we are all but defenceless..."

As Odin was about to reply, he was cut off by Thor walking in, and Eris could tell from his mood that he wasn't even the slightest bit happy.

"So she is your prisoner now?" Thor asked, looking at the guards. "All but Eris, leave us." Eris looked at him, slowly going back to her unshaded form as she picked Hellem up when she felt her daughter's hand on her ankle and she watched Nathaniel crawl out from under the table.

"I do not wish to fight with you." Odin told Thor, as he walked down the stairs to his son.

"Nor, I with you." Thor promised as he picked up Nathaniel once he got to the stairs, and Eris and Thor walked on either side of Odin, both carrying one of the children.

"She possessed the Ether, Malekith will come to us." Odin told him.

"Yes, and he will destroy us." Thor told him.

"You overestimate the power of these creatures." Odin told him.

"Odin, deep down you knows that Thor is speaking sense." Eris told him. "He fears for the lives of our people."

"Allow me to take Jane off world, away from Asgard, when Malekith pulls the Ether from Jane, it will be exposed and then we can destroy it."

"And if you fail?" Odin asked. "Then you risk Malekith becoming more powerful than he is claimed to be."

"The risk will be much greater, if we do nothing." Thor told him. "He could be over our heads this very instant, and we wouldn't even know it."

"If he and his men come again, they will fall upon ten thousand Asgardian blades." Odin told him.

"And how many of our people would we lose in the process?" Thor asked. "We aren't all unstoppable like Eris."

"As many as are necessary!" Odin suddenly thundered. "We will fight, to the last Asgardian breath! To the last drop of Asgardian blood!"

This made both Eris and Thor sigh, and they looked at each other as Odin left the hall. Thor then walked with her, to her bedroom as he carried his nephew.

"I know that your plan has a small chance of success, but I doubt that you will listen to me even if I told you that it was a version of suicide." Eris told him as they walked.

"So...?" Thor asked, hoping that she would say something else.

"So, you're going to need another way out of Asgard, which is why I'm taking you to Loki, he is the only one who is able to find the hidden passages, and let's face it, he won't help you without me." Eris told him, leaving no room for an argument.

Thor looked at her in surprise, she was the one who never broke the rules, and yet here she was offering to help get his brother out of his prison. "Eris, are you sure? I mean, what about your children?"

"They will be fine with Cerebellum." She told him as she laid her daughter in her crib once they had reached her room, as Thor done the same with her son.

"Fine then, let's go and see my brother." Thor told her, as he watched Cerebellum take their place and they walked down towards the cells.

They both walked side by side, not paying any heed to anyone who passed them, and no one seemed to notice them anyway. They got into the cells without any problems, though when a guard tried to stop them, he suddenly dropped to the floor, Eris having hit his head hard off of a pillar to knock him unconscious. The noise of one of the guards falling to the floor, was enough to make Loki turn around and walk to the front barrier of his cell, and he seemed surprised to find both Eris and Thor there.

"Thor, Eris, after all this time, now you come to visit me brother?" Loki asked Thor.

"Loki, enough no more illusions." Thor told him, his voice bored, though when he had finished speaking, there was a shimmer and they saw the mess that had become Loki's cell and Eris now felt terrible that she hadn't come to visit him sooner, though she walked over to the side barrier with Thor so that she was closer to Loki as he sat against the far wall.

"Now you see me, both of you." He looked at them, though he kept his eyes on that of his wife. "Did she suffer?" He asked her.

Before Eris could tell him, Thor interrupted her. "We did not come here to share our grieving with you, Loki." Thor told him. "Instead, I offer something better, as long as you help me escape from Asgard. I offer you a chance for vengeance and the freedom from this cell."

Eris could see that this had Loki interested, though he tried not to show it, instead he gave a quick look around his cell and then looked back at them, smirking.

"You must be truely desperate to cme to me for help." Loki told him. "What makes you think that you can trust me, Thor?"

"I don't." Thor told him simply. "But mother did, and so does Eris. You should also know that when we fought together in the past, I held a glimmer of hope that the brother I knew, the husband Eris new, and the father her children want, is still in there somewhere." He almost smirked. "Yet, now only Eris' hope remains to protect you, so if you betray me, then I will most certainly kill you."

Loki let this ink in for a few minutes, before he smiled. "When do we start?"

At his words, Thor gave a nod to Eris and he left as Eris stayed and walked through the barrier, handing Loki some clothes.

"I knew you'd help." She told him as he got changed and she clicked her fingers making his cell appear clean and tidy.

"Only for you and our children." Loki told her. "He could have harmed you, when I heard that the creature had found Frigga, I realised where you were and I grew worried."

"Well don't worry, as Thor keeps pointing out, I'm immortal, and nothing can kill me." She reminded him, kissing his lips gently. "Now quickly, we must go." She brought him back through the barrier, out of his cell, and she walked off with him to find Thor, her hand entwining with his. Once they found Thor, her other hand entwined with Thor's and she pulled them both through the wall and they used her ability to walk through walls in order to get to Eris and Loki's bedroom. When they got there, Eris let go of the pair of them, just as Hellem and Nathaniel crawled over, Cerebellum joining them.

"My Lady...He...He's not..." Cerebellum started as she watched Loki kneel down to cuddle his children.

"Cerebellum, it's hard to explain, but please just trust me." The maid nodded and took her leave, just as Thor told them that he had to leave in order to let the necessary few in on his plan.

When Thor had gone, Loki looked over at Eris as she moved over to sit on the edge of their bed.

"Do they ask about me?" Loki asked her, as he pulled the twins onto his lap.

"They do, despite their lack of speech, they communicate effectively." Eris told him.

Loki nodded, looking down at his two children. "I've missed this."

"And we have all missed you Loki." She told him. "Hellem wishes you good night every night, and Nathaniel talks to you in his dreams."

Loki smiled. "I know, I hear them, but they don't hear me talking back." He sighed, and looked down at his children who had gotten comfortable against him. "I think these two are ready for bed."

"Yeah they are." She walked over and picked up her son as Hellem clung to her father, and Loki held her close as he walked to her cradle and both of their children were laid into their own beds.

When they were fully tucked up and comfortable, Loki looked around the room then at his wife who had walked onto the balcony. With a frown, he followed her, sliding his arms around her from behind and holding her close to him.

"What's the matter?"

"It is a shame that for most of the time I have seen you, we will be spending it breaking the law..."

"Our speciality." Loki told her.

"But we will be away from our children; Malekith will come after them if we fail." She told him, looking out at the horizon.

"We can't fail, that isn't an option for us."

She nodded, before they heard their bedroom door open and the heavy thud of armoured boots, and this caused both of them to turn around and look at them. Now it was time for them to focus on the upcoming fight as they found the remaining warriors and Thor sitting in their room.
