Kagome knew these clothes weren't hers: the slacks were too long, the shirts were too loose, and the colors were far too hot for her usual tastes.
And yet there they were, sitting on the bed as though it was completely natural. A pair of pajamas even sat near the bottom of the stack, complete with drawstring pants and a shirt with a cartoon puppy on the front.
Her mother poked her head in the doorway, laundry basket in hand.
"Oh, I thought that your friend could have something to wear while she was here," she said, "At least so she can take a bath and do her laundry while she's on this side."
Kagome bit her lip. InuYasha? Miss "my clothes magically mend themselves, so who cares about properly taking care of them"?
The same InuYasha whose definition of a bath was jumping in a lake and shaking herself off like a dog?
The same InuYasha who was so self-conscious about exposing herself that treating a chest-wound was like pulling teeth?

Yeah, no. The odds of her wearing anything other than her usual red ensemble were second to none.
"I'm sure she'll appreciate it, Mom." Kagome said, "Though I'm not sure if she's into this sort of stuff."
"Well, it'll be nice to have around, just in case something happens."
"You're right. Thanks, Mom."
Kagome wasn't expecting to have said 'friend' sitting on her bed two days later, soaked to the bone from the rain and grudgingly wearing the two-piece pajama suit as though it was an alien lifeform.
