Chapter Twenty-Two: Find Him, Find Them

Adam's P.O.V

"Adam stop pacing," Sebastian says.

I turn around and look at him briefly before turning back to my insistent pacing. I know I'm being unreasonable but I'm absolutely furious. This is wasted time that could be used to find Krane. I can already feel the burning sensation behind my eyes as my agitation grows.

A warm hand lands on my shoulder as Bree tries to placate me. I yank out of her grasp and glare. She barely has time to dodge my glitched heat vision. If it weren't for Sebastian tackling me to the ground my aim would've been perfect.

I quickly push him off me and immediately sit up.

"You need to chill," Sebastian glares.

I glare right back but Bree kneels next to us.

"He's right," She chides.

I turn a baffled look at her.

"Don't look at me like that that," she sighs, "You need to calm down for Chase."

I avoid her stare then and face our dad's mansion. My teeth click as I grit and stand dusting my mission suit. I've made up my mind and I will find Krane. When I do, I'll destroy him.

I take a deep breath and relax, my shoulders sagging down. As much as I hate to admit it, Bree and Sebastian are right. I need to calm down because on the other side is my daughter and my very pregnant fiance. Just thinking about them makes me hurry for the opened door down the corridor to the lab. I open the door for my capsule and wait patiently as my mission suit is replaced with sweats and a t-shirt.

Bree and Sebastian follow behind with Sebastian using Chase's old capsule. I don't wait for them, instead I go straight to the nursery where I know Chase will be waiting almost impatiently.

Like I expected, Chase is playing with Audrey on the floor. Audrey lights up as soon as she sees me. Her bright eyes widen and she screams delighted, her chubby arms stick out toward me. I sweep her off her feet and spin her in a circle. Chase watches from his place rather amused, I can see the babies clearly kicking through his shirt, which is my stolen one from his last pregnancy with our baby girl.

I lean down and press a kiss to his forehead, Audrey giggles and hides her face in the crook of my neck.

"How do you feel?" I ask.

He takes a deep breath and shakes his head as if I shouldn't worry. However, I know otherwise. We barely knew how the pregnancy would affect Chase when he was carrying Audrey, but now it's different with the twins. It's riskier now and the chance that he goes into premature labor scares me to death.

"I'm a bit sore," he admits with a shrug.

I bounce Audrey on my hip and she babbles nonsense content now that I'm home. I narrow my eyes at him and he smiles lovingly. Rolling my eyes, I offer him my hand and with the minimal of my strength I help him up.

"Thanks," he murmurs with a light embarrassed blush.

"Seriously, how do you feel?"

"Braxton Hicks," he answers honestly.

"Isn't it a bit early?" I question concerned, "should we tell Big D?"

"No!"

"Why?"

He stares at his belly fondly as he caresses the swell, "he'll put me on bed rest."

"Maybe it's for the best," I suggest.

"No," he whispers and tangles his fingers in our daughters soft hair.

Audrey peeks at Chase from her hiding and shows him her two bottom teeth, the tiny pearls looking like rice grains.

"I think I wore her out," he adds with a yawn.

"And I think she wore you out too," I smile.

"Yeah so did these two," he agrees.

I cup his belly with my free hand and feel as one of the twins kicks against my palm.

I step forward and press my lips to his, "I promise I'll find Krane."

"I know you will," he assures.

Audrey's soft breathing evens as her head lolls on my shoulder, her eyes droop and eventually close. With a smirk I lay her down in the crib, then lead Chase to our room.

Marcus' P.O.V

"What if I…"

"If you what?" I question impatiently.

"What if I said… what if I said that I loved you?"

I take a deep breath and slowly back away from Leo.

"What?"

"I love you Marcus," he whispers inching forward until our lips are mere centimeters away.

"You know you don't love me," I reply harshly as I evade his attempted kiss.

He's right, I'm unconditionally in love with Sebastian despite his past and mine. I understand him and he understands me. These past months he's tried everythingb to protect me and our baby.

My heart almost breaks when for a moment he looks devastated just before his eyes glow a disgusting green hue.

Suddenly the words from minutes ago echoes in my mind, "I know where Krane is."

I desperately try to get away from him but his bionic arm reacts quickly and grips my arm tightly. I pull but before I can break free, he pulls another wash cloth and presses it to my face. I feel like I'm drowning, my chest burns as I inhale the fumes.

I vaguely hear Sebastian's voice calling my name from outside the bathroom door. I try to tell, to warn him not to come in but I can't. My vision grows hazy and I can't stay awake any longer.

"Marcus!" Sebastian yells.

Sebastian's P.O.V

Leo tightens his hold on Marcus' limp body and my anger spikes. I stands in the door way but with his bionic arm shoots the wall creating an available exit. I mentally curse and debate whether to use my Electrokinesis. Just one look at Marcus and I stop myself for fear of hurting him and our baby.

"Leo don't do this," I beg.

Leo laughs maniacally.

"Please don't, don't hurt him please. Don't hurt him or our baby," I plea.

For a brief moment his eyes flicker brown when he peers at Marcus in his arms. He specifically glances at Marcus' right hand before they return the tritan app green. I'm left broken as he immediately disappears with Marcus.

Minutes late Chase, Adam and the others appear behind me.

"Sebastian? Sebastian what happened? Where's Marcus and Leo?" Chase asks panicked.

Adam tries to hold him back but either way I can't lie to him.

"Leo t-took Marcus," I whisper still staring at the empty room.

"What do you mean Leo took Marcus? Leo wouldn't do that!" Bree argues defensively.

"He wouldn't have," I agree, "but Krane would. Leo was being manipulated by the tritan app... I... I Krane has them."

It's then that Tasha appears and listens to the conversation. A gasp of horror escapes her.

"Are you sure?" Davenport questions untrusting.

I simply nod.

"Eddy!" He calls for the home security.

I shake my head, he'll only waste time. Leo told me everything he could.

"Don't bother, I think I know where they are," I add shortly.
