Hello RWBY readers, my name is J. Van A and welcome to A BLZEing Remnant. The only (probably not) RWBY oc fanfic where the writer means so do something good but completely screws up and forgets to add in some new edits they were thinking to put in before rushing to post the chapter.
Anyway, I forgot to do some edits, and the whole Yoda thing was on my mind all day, so hopefully this is a better version of the chapter 27.
Enjoy
"So where are we going?" Ruby asked Blaise as they were walking through the streets of Vale.
"We're going to downtown to a shop called 'Dust of a New Dawn.' It's a place where my siblings and I stashed weapons before we all hated each other, or at least that's what Sedric told me," Blaise explained as he looked around the corner before proceeding.
"But why are we going there? We already have weapons that we could've brought with," she said sticking closely behind him.
"Ruby, one of the first things you need to do when going undercover is to go incognito, and the easiest way of doing that is to assume a persona completely different from your own, which is kinda the reason why we're dressed differently," Blaise explained as he gestured towards his assassination outfit and at her blue hoodie. "That is also why neither of us have our main weapons. They're too noticeable, especially your sniper scythe."
"But what if we get attacked?"
"We won't," Blaise said lighting his claws on fire.
"Hello and welcome to- Oh no, not you," the cashier said as Blaise walked into the shop.
"'Oh no, not you,' what kind of a name is that? When did you change it?" Blaise asked as he walked over to the counter. "What happened to your nose?"
"It got busted," the cashier explained as he let Blaise and Ruby behind the counter. "You don't even have to say anything, I know." He opened up the trap door and let the two down into the basement.
"Wow," Ruby said as she saw the large basement filled with all the weapons and misc. items.
"Yeah, yeah, big room filled with weapons, don't go too crazy you weapon nut," Blaise said then walked over to the wall and grabbed two spare cutlasses,a railgun sniper rifle, and railgun pistols and hooked them onto their respective holsters as Ruby ran over to the walls to see what weapons she wanted to use.
"Your family must really like railguns," Ruby told Blaise making him chuckle.
"I guess we do. I never really wondered why."
"Now what should I use?" Ruby asked herself as she picked up a smaller version of the sniper rifle Blaise used a few nights previous. "This one seems cool." She aimed it at the wall and looked through the scope.
"Woah, woah, woah," Blaise said practically running over to Ruby and taking the gun out of her hands, "Railguns are a lot more powerful than a high impact sniper rifle. I fired one bullet using one of these and it sent me flying, and I trained to be able to counteract a railgun recoil."
"But, but, I wanna look at it," Ruby pouted trying to use the puppy dog eyes on him to no avail.
"Puppy eyes don't work on someone who's part dog," Blaise explained as he held the sniper rifle up just out of Ruby's reach.
"Come on," Ruby pleaded trying to jump up and take the sniper rifle, but Blaise just moved it slightly out of her reach.
"No, we're going to have you use a simpler sniper rifle," Blaise said hanging the railgun sniper rifle on a gun rack out of Ruby's reach. Walking over to the back corner of the basement he picked up a different high caliber sniper rifle without any attachments at all except for the high powered scope and silencer. "Will this one do?"
"I wanna use the other one," Ruby pouted trying for one last shot at Blaise giving her the railgun sniper rifle.
"Well, you're not," Blaise said placing the sniper rifle in her arms. "Now for clothes."
"What about clothes?" she asked as she followed Blaise who walked over to the female mannequins. "This is just fine." She gestured to her blue hoodie.
"Maybe for sneaking out of Beacon unnoticed," Blaise said then turned to Ruby, "but when doing these missions you should have multiple disguises. What I'm looking for is a similar one like mine."
"What's so special about your outfit?"
"I'll show you, turn around for a moment," he said and she complied. As soon as she turned around he pulled the hood up. "Now what I want you to do is to turn around, look at me, and keep looking at me."
"I really don't understand why you're doing this," she said turning around. It took her a moment to locate Blaise, then she barely saw him before her eyes were naturally drawn to the side. "How are you doing that?" She laughed as she looked back at Blaise who hadn't moved for a quick moment before her eyes were drawn to the side again.
"This outfit has what I can only describe as illusion dust where as long as the hood is up, anyone who is looking at the user, their eyes are naturally drawn away from the wearer. That was how I could sneak into a White Fang faction meeting with a giant sniper rifle on my back with two cutlasses and pistols on my belt," Blaise explained looking around at the mannequins that were strangely about Ruby's size. Spotting one that was similar to his he picked it up and removed the outfit from the mannequin (It's the officer's outfit (Use Google if you don't know what it looks like). AC4 is the best one.) and handed it to the girl. "Try this one on for size."
"Where's the changing rooms?"
"There aren't ones." Blaise paused for a moment to watch the initial horror cross Ruby's face before she looked at the outfit. All it was, was a long jacket that she could easily put over her shirt. Blaise started to laugh hysterically as Ruby's face matched the color of her name. "Did you think I'd make you strip down here?"
"Sh-shut up!" she practically yelled at him as she took off her blue hoodie and slipped the outfit over her dark red t-shirt. "Well?" she asked as she closed the outfit.
"Well what?" Blaise asked putting down the gun magazine he was looking at while Ruby was putting on the red outfit.
"Does it look good?"
"That really doesn't matter just as long as it does what it's supposed to do," Blaise replied confusing Ruby for a moment before he motioned for her to pull her hood over her head. As soon as she pulled it over her head Blaise felt his eyes naturally look to the side of Ruby making him not focus on her.
"Well?"
"It'll work," Blaise smiled as he walked past Ruby. As he passed her he patted her shoulder without stopping. "It looks good," he told her causing her to smile for a brief moment before she followed Blaise. "Now, we need to look at wigs, colored contacts, and a close combat weapon. I was thinking you should probably use weapons relatively close to Crescent Rose, yet different so nobody will catch on that you're Ruby Rose."
After finally leaving the basement with Ruby after half an hour of deciding on a weapon for her, Blaise pulled on his wig, the black mask Roman had given him before, and the railgun gauntlets he had instructed Neo to place in the cache. What they had found for Ruby were pistols with dust blades on the end. And for her disguise they had decided to give her a bright red wig that was longer than her own hair with red contact lenses.
"See ya," Blaise waved at the cashier as he and Ruby headed to the exit.
"You know, you could buy something once in a while," the cashier said.
"Nah," Blaise replied as he and Ruby both pulled up their hoods as they left the building.
"So what now?" Ruby asked him as they were walking down the street unnoticed.
"Well, we have a couple days before Sedric has faunus loading up into trucks to go to his lab, and you have weapons that you're not quite accustomed to. So I think for now we should go back to Beacon and train with these new weapons for a couple of days," Blaise said turning the corner to head towards the airship docks. "Not to mention, if either of us stay out for long Yang will get suspicious."
"I told her I was going to Vale for weapon parts, so I'm covered," she replied.
"Well I said I have some work for Ozpin to do, and that's not entirely false," Blaise said as they neared the last airship to Beacon getting ready to leave. "Alright, now we can get onto the ship without having to check in."
"How?" she asked then Blaise pointed at his hood. "Oh, right. Wait, how come I can look at you now?"
"I think when two people are wearing these they can look at each other because the effects cancel out for us," Blaise said then gestured to the pedestrians not even looking at the two even when Blaise was about to clothesline a person, "And nobody else will even see us. So basically we are the only people who know we're here."
"This is pretty cool."
"Damn right."
"Where were you?" Weiss asked as Ruby walked into the room wearing her blue hoodie after she and Blaise dropped their weapons and outfits into their lockers down in the workshop.
"I got some parts for some new designs I was thinking of doing," Ruby lied as she went over to and jumped onto her hanging bed. "What are you doing, Yang?" she asked her sister who was looking over her scroll.
"I'm just texting Blaise, apparently he missed the flight so he had to employ a pilot to fly him to the emerald forest so he could sneak onto school property," she explained as she scrolled through her messages.
"So I was thinking of adding some new mechanisms to Crescent Rose," Ruby said confident that the rest of her team would drone her out. As she finished that sentence the three members groaned in unison as they ignored Ruby talking about weapons. "Fine." She pretended to be annoyed at them as she opened her weapons magazine and began to read.
Blaise had taken the long route back to the dorms to hopefully avoid detection. Passing one of the Atlas dorms he saw a group of four people blocking his path.
"Hello," Blaise greeted Alex and his team as he approached the area.
"Oh, hello Blaise," Alex greeted the wolf faunus back.
"What are you guys doing out here?" Blaise asked then got into a mock fighting stance, "Because I don't wanna fight without my gear."
"No, no, no," Alex waved him off laughing as he did, "We make it a tradition to go out as a team one night a week just to look at the stars."
"Really."
"Yeah," Shizuko said hopping off a rock she was using as a seat to walk over to Blaise and Alex, "We think it's a great team building exercise."
"Relaxes you and all that," Quinton said letting his head fall back on the bench to look at the moon better.
"Seems peaceful, I actually have a high affinity to the moon believe it or not," Blaise laughed at his little joke.
"You know, you don't seem like most other faunus we've met," Reita said looking over at Blaise from her spot on the bench next to Quinton.
"How so?" Blaise asked sitting on the open spot on their bench to look at the stars.
"You don't seem concerned at all about being a faunus. Most of the ones we met were either hiding their heritage or wouldn't talk about it at all. You on the other hand seem to make jokes about your heritage and don't seem to care what others say," Reita said to him.
"I believe the problem why being a faunus is a big deal is because of those reasons you stated. People think that things are just unfair. I embraced being me and it worked out just fine. I even helped stop some faunus bullying, and yet nobody looked at me different when they got to know me. Basically, there are no humans or faunus, only people, at least in my eyes," Blaise explained while still looking at the stars letting his ears relax and move freely with the breeze.
"Well, I commend you on that," Alex said sitting down on the rock with his back propped against Shizuko's. "Too bad most people don't have the same views as you do."
"Yeah well, the world can't be perfect, or we'd be going to school for nothing," he laughed at his little joke with a couple others joining in.
"So Blaise."
"Hm?"
"You know tomorrow for the sparring class your teacher is going to have team spars, right?"
"Yeah."
"Should we have our teams spar?" Alex asked him.
"I really don't know, the other three on my team still scare me," Blaise replied, "but if you guys want to, we can."
"So it would seem that the procedure was successful," Sedric said sitting up on the table at the White Fang medical facility.
"It does, but please do be careful these next few days," the doctor said to the wolf faunus.
"In this line of work that's never an option," he replied then slid off the table standing up on both his real foot and his new one. Attempting to keep his balance he paced for a bit to get used to this new change. "How do I look?"
"Like an anime character," the doctor told him.
"Sorry to interrupt," a voice said from the doorway, "but Mr. Campione, the thieves you sent to the Manos Research Facility have returned with what you've asked for." He walked into the room and handed the wolf a plain cardboard box which he grabbed with his new right hand.
"Good, good," Sedric said as he picked up a permanent marker from the doctor's desk. "Now all we have to do is find the opportune moment to use this." After opening the marker he wrote two simple words that neither the surgeon or the messenger understood why.
'For Blaise'
There we go, new edits, better dialogue, and no Yoda. So yeah, Sedric now has a new arm and leg *cough* Fullmetal Alchemist *cough*. So, yeah, Sedric also has something For Blaise, which in BLZEing Remnant terms is bad for him. Also just to stop any possible confusion before it happens, because it even confused me, Sedric does not know about Lucius being Orlando.
Anyway, we will have team BLZE and AQRS fight against each other, and DRAMA *cheers* will happen. Yet you won't even know what hit you.
Anyway, I have to sleep,
