Well, that was fast. I had some spare time so I decided to write this early. It's brief, but it is important.
Like I said in the previous chapter, you guys are going to hate me near the end, or maybe not, you might even like what I did. You'll see.
Enjoy *maniacal laugh*
"Where's Blaise?" Eva asked her teammates after they woke up in the morning and she noticed he wasn't in the room.
"He seems to be not here," Lapis said stretching his arms.
"Well no shit," she replied deadpanning.
"I'm just pointing out the obvious," he defended.
"Well we should probably go look for him."
"Well, I don't think we're the only ones," Zaria said pointing to the empty blanket where Lucia had been wrapped in.
"Maybe she left with him to do something as siblings," Lapis suggested.
"That's not what happened," a voice from outside said. Looking out the window they saw Lucia holding on to the window sill.
"And what are you doing?" Eva asked the wolf faunus.
"I was going to parkour down to the ground to look for Blaise, but then I remembered that I'm still kind of rusty," she explained, "Can someone help me up?"
Without saying another word Lapis reached out and pulled her in by the back of her Haven uniform jacket.
"Thanks big guy," she said standing up and patting him on the chest. "Now then, off to find my brother."
"Shouldn't you get rid of the Haven uniform?" Zaria asked as she followed Lucia into the hallway.
"What? No, I like this one too much. Though I did get rid of the skirt, showed too much leg," she continued to ramble on as they proceeded to exit the building.
"Can you please stop talking about the uniform," Lapis pleaded to the wolf faunus.
"Fine, you guys asked," she replied, "Now, who here knows the way to the cafeteria."
"Weren't you staying here for a month?"
"I was at the Haven dorms, anyway," she said then got quiet, "I'm not the best with directions."
"Couldn't you just sniff the air and follow the scent?"
"That's racist."
"Do you really care?"
"Not really."
"Exactly."
"Well do you smell anything?" Eva asked.
"But you guys actually know where the cafeteria is. Why would I have to use my enhanced smell if you guys could just say, 'Hey the cafeteria is just down this sidewalk,' or something," she said pointing down a random sidewalk.
"And that would be correct," Lapis said causing Lucia's face to turn blank.
"You have got to be kidding me? I have been wandering around the campus trying to find the correct path to the cafeteria and when I just guess I am correct."
"Yeah, that kind of thing usually happens with us," Zaria explained.
"So, has anyone seen Blaise?" Lapis asked team RWBY as the remaining members of BLZE and Lucia sat down at the table.
"No, but has anyone seen JNPR?" Ruby asked causing both teams to think.
"Hello, this is Jaune Arc, and if you are watching this I am… probably dead," Jaune said into his scroll's video camera. "This all started when Nora decided that we should go camping, but then the ursa in the area smelled her pancake syrup in her suitcase. Then they attacked the camp destroying everything. I barely escaped with my life. I don't know what happened to the rest of my team, but I hope they are doing better than I am. Guys, if you are watching this I just have some things to say. Nora, I don't blame you at all even though it was kind of all your fault. Ren, you are one of my best friends and I truly saw you as the brother I never had. Pyrrha, you're the strongest person I know, so I know you'll have no problem with doing this without me. Now, mom and dad, I know by now my sisters have probably searched my room, and I can explain those magazines hidden in the mattre-"
"Jaune! Jaune!" Jaune heard Pyrrha shout from somewhere outside of his bush.
"Scratch that thought," Jaune said then turned off the camera and deleted the clip as he left the bush. "Guys! I'm over here!"
"Yeah, I've been wondering where they went," Blaise said sitting down next to Lapis.
"Where have you been?" Yang asked Blaise..
"I was out for a jog," Blaise said not looking at Yang.
"Understandable," Lapis replied.
"You have been slacking," Blaise said poking his partner in the shoulder. "I believe I am winning."
"Nope," Lapis said then pulled out his scroll and pulled out the fitness app. "As you can see here I am still three miles ahead of you."
"How?"
"You go for jogs in the morning, and sometimes you forget. I jog in the morning and if I forget I jog at night, not to mention I'm just more athletic than you," Lapis replied with a smug smile on his face.
"Screw it," Blaise said then raised his cup of milk. "To chocolate chip cookies and late night movies, may the popcorn be buttered and the milk delicious." To that nearly everyone in the group raised their glasses.
"So, what classes do you have today?" Lucia asked Blaise making him turn from his cookie and milk.
After gulping the mouthful of food he said, "Well, today is monday, so I have History with Oobleck, Biology with Peach, sparring with Glynda, and Grimm Studies with Port. The schedule is different from day to day. And what are you doing?"
"I guess talk with Ozpin and see what he wants me to do. Trust me, my other career was more entertaining," she explained slumping into her chair.
"What did you do before?" Yang asked.
"I was… a huntress of sorts," she said picking her words wisely as both Ruby and Blaise looked at her.
"What did you go to an academy?"
"Well, when you have the skills you just have to make up a little lie and as long as you can provide, your employers really don't care," she explained. "And now Ozzy knows about my past and he offered me a job."
"Speaking of that," a new voice said causing some of the table occupants to jump at the sound of Glynda Goodwitch, "Ms. Campione, Ozpin has instructed me to give you a tour of the campus and bring you to your office."
"Ooh, Blaise did you hear that? I get an office," she said standing up to follow. "Lead the way fellow co worker."
"Should we tell her or just let her find out on her own?" Yang asked Blaise.
"I think we will let her find it out on her own," Blaise replied still not looking at his girlfriend.
"For this next project you will need to have partners, and this time I will let you choose," Professor Oobleck said after explaining the logistics of the project.
Almost immediately all of the students picked their friends. Yang was about to tap Blaise on the shoulder before he turned to Lapis.
"Hey, Lapis, wanna partner up?" Blaise asked quickly.
"Well, I guess," he replied giving Yang a questioning look before she turned to partner up with Ruby. "So is there a reason why you're ignoring Yang today?"
"What? I'm not ignoring Yang," Blaise said waving Lapis off, "I just thought that we haven't done anything as partners in a while."
"Whatever you say," Lapis replied as he pulled out his paper to start on the project.
"So has anyone else noticed something… off about Blaise today?" Reita asked LZE, and the rest of AQRS as they sat under the oak tree during lunch for a small picnic.
"Personally, I think it is rude to talk about someone behind their back," Alex said as he picked up his sandwich, "But he does seem to be… off today."
"That's an understatement," Eva said. "This morning he left the dorm earlier than the rest of us for a run, which he never does."
"And he actually paired up with Lapis during Oobleck's class," Zaria added.
"Not to mention he isn't here," Shizuko said resting her back against Zaria's causing a shiver to run down her spine. "Even after we said we were going to bring sandwiches."
"Yeah, we even brought the roast beef sandwiches," Quinton added. Moments later Lapis's scroll buzzed.
Opening it he sighed. "Ok, well, Blaise just sent me a text saying he is helping his sister move some boxes she had shipped here from her apartment in Vacuo. They had stopped in a cafe for lunch since he has a free period next hour," he explained closing his scroll.
"So, should we add this to the report?" Eva asked Lapis and Zaria.
"Might as well," Lapis replied looking over to where Zaria was only to find Shizuko laying flat on her back.
"We probably should," Zaria said hanging on to the bottom branch of the tree.
"So, what else do you want to talk with me about?" Lucia asked her little brother swirling her cappuccino in the small cafe.
"How many?" he asked making Lucia stop swirling.
"Don't," she said, "don't do this to yourself."
"How many?" he asked again.
"Just don't. Trust me, in our line of work the best way to sleep at night is to just forget about the people we have killed and the pain of our lives," she said resting her hand on Blaise's trembling one. "Me, I just browse the internet to help."
"I just need to know," he said, "Last night I dreamt I was in this room filled with the people I have killed."
"Blaise, I know, those dreams are quite common, but you just have to have a coping mechanism," she explained. "I had videogames and the internet. You have a lot of possible things to help you, like your teammates or your girlfriend. Have you ever told them the whole truth?"
"Not really," he said, "I told Ruby, but that was after she found out what I was doing with Torchwick."
"Well, maybe you should come clean with your teammates, because if you do have a mental breakdown from those thoughts while on a mission you could putting yourself and them in danger," she said then looked at the clock. "Oh crap. we need to get going. Your next class will start by the time we get back."
"What a day," Blaise sighed as he sat down on the edge of the dorm building roof. "I think even Pyrrha and Jaune aren't even going to train tonight after what they had went through." After propping himself on his arm he looked outward to enjoy the sunset. This moment of tranquility lasted for less than half a minute before a pair of hands covered Blaise's eyes.
"Guess wh-" the voice asked getting cut off by Blaise twisting around to blindly grab the person's neck to throw them to the ground. Without even thinking Blaise flicked his hand back. After Blaise could see her clearly he saw Yang with a shocked expression on her face. Then he threw his hand back realizing what he had just tried to do. He had just tried to stab Yang in the neck with his wrist blade he was thankful he forgot this morning. "Jeez, jumpy much," she said standing up.
"I'm sorry," he said standing up. "I needed to talk with you anyway."
"Good, because I have some things I need to ask," she said making Blaise gulp in fear. "Why have you been ignoring me."
"Ahh, well," he said then turned around to face the sunset. Sighing he continued. "I really didn't think this would be the best place to do this."
"What are you talking about?" she asked him somewhat concerned.
"This whole view is the perfect setting for a romantic moment, but that is the exact opposite reason why I want to talk with you."
"Wait, you don't mean?"
"Yang, I'm sorry," he said hanging his head down, "But I'm breaking up with you."
"What? But, we were doing just fine."
"It's just," he said remembering his dream from the night before, "Personal matters."
"What kind of personal matters?"
"I can't really explain them, but please remember, this is all my fault."
"How? How is this your fault?" she asked him with tears threatening to flow out of her eyes.
"I-I just can't, I'm just, I can't explain," he said walking over to the edge. "I'm sorry." With that final apology he hopped off of the roof leaving Yang alone as she fell to her knees and wiped away the tears now falling down her face.
Hehehe, the S.S. Burning Wolf has sunk.
Now we are back to the way an OC story should be.
Well, Blaise did have a reason for breaking up with Yang. He probably would've ended up killing her and since she is one of the main characters, that can't happen. So now Blaise is back into the dating pool where he is going to be silently brooding in the corner away from everyone else.
Now then, to think of what I should do for the next chapter... maybe I can make a new OC team fight, because why not? Well, I am finishing this during my study hall in school and I only have a few minutes left to post this chapter.
See ya,
