So, who's excited for this new chapter!
...
Ok, I was hoping for some cheers.
Well this chapter has some interesting bits in it. Even a new team, Team BLOD (Blood). It may seem fast, but I want to get everybody back to Beacon so they can do one or two more things before the dance.
"So, this is awkward," Quinton said looking at the statue of Blaise.
"No kidding," Shizuko replied trying to read the plaque, "What do you think this says?"
"Well I don't think that matters at the moment," Eva replied scrolling through her scroll. "I'm currently running the name 'Blood Moon' through the internet and I'm coming up with nothing. Only references to a superhero cartoon about a vampire hunter or the talk about harvest time."
"Well why don't you just call Lucia and ask her about Blood Moon?"
"Well…" she paused trying to think of a remark that wouldn't make her seem stupid, "She is currently on a mission at the moment."
"Well doesn't Blaise have a brother?"
"Yes but-"
"Doesn't he work for you dad?"
"Shut up," Eva nearly shouted as she dialed Lucius' number.
'Hello, Orlando Cooper, lead scientist at Manos Inc.' Lucius grumbled into the phone half awake.
"Lucius, this is Eva."
'Huh, what? Oh right Eva. Sorry, I just woke up. Your father thought it would be a good idea to have a non lethal science war to figure out which projects we should scrap. Gravity boots were on the winning side along with the blood testing,' he explained then there was the sound of a thud. 'Ow. So, why are you calling this early in the morning?'
"It's three in the afternoon, and it's six where you are."
'Well maybe somebody should've told me sooner. Then again I'm pretty sure a lot of the scientists here are scared of me with my new weapon. So why did you call?'
"It's Blaise."
'What happened?'
"Well, we were on a mission investigating the town of Eriford-"
'Wait. Eriford? In Vacuo?'
"Yes, but anyway-"
'You don't have to say any more. Three years ago when Blaise ran away from Lucia's place he came to Eriford. I only know that because I visited him there a few times.'
"So what is the significance of Eriford and the name Blood Moon?"
'I take it Blaise hasn't told you, or that he just didn't know until he got there. Blaise was an assassin known as Blood Moon. A very skilled one at that. With the Campione family blades and skills he gained throughout the years to blend in, he became very good at what he did.
'After his one girlfriend died in a car accident he kinda became depressed and moved to Eriford. When he got there he discovered that the town had a society of assassins and was being constantly attacked by The Order. The Order is a group of humans and faunus who believe that the world is falling into chaos and that Remnant should go back to the days before where every country basically was on its own and the problems there could be solved easier.
'So when Blaise was there he managed to form a team with the assassins and they were team BLOD (Pronounced Blood). With their help the town fought back against The Order. So they developed a group within themselves called 'The Brothers.' Yada yada yada, the town rejoiced, Blaise was considered the town hero and they made a statue honoring him.
'So if Blaise came back everything probably clicked in his head and now he no longer has amnesia, or just remembers a lot, I'm not a doctor. Now if The Order is back then they probably want Blaise to be dead and started to terrorize the town. Since Blaise wasn't in Eriford The Brothers sent him a message in the mail that was just enough to make Blaise come back. Your best bet of surviving the next few days is to probably get onto the Revenant Wing and fly away.'
"So you never bothered to mention this at all when we visited back at the estate?"
'You do realize that Blaise is my little brother and I would just talk about the past willy nilly with anyone. So where is he now?'
"We don't know. After Blaise… snapped… he ran off into the town. And now we can't get into contact with Lapis and Zaria or the two other people who came with us."
'Well then, you have two choices. Either you can leave them to die, or you can try to rescue them and die.'
"What do you mean by that?"
'If they were taken by The Order, they probably will be taken hostage for a few days and if they provide useful information they might be spared. If they were taken by The Brothers they will be killed either way unless Blaise steps in and stops them using his authority to command.'
"Thanks for the information. So where are The Brothers located?"
'Well they are located under the town in a secret bunker I helped them build, but if you try to go in there you will be killed by the assassins.'
"Well, that will be useful for when we go in. We still need Blaise to help us save the rest of our friends so our best chance is going to The Brothers."
'Well, just don't do anything too stupid. I'm going to come over and see if maybe I can help out.'
"You really don't have to do that."
'Yes, yes I do.' Then the line went dead.
"So did anyone else get that because I will not be repeating it," Eva said to the two others who had decided to take quick selfies with the statue as a joke to send to Blaise.
"Yeah, yeah, serious shit going on and we're stuck in the middle," Shizuko said jumping off of the statue to the ground. "So what is our next move?"
"Well…"
"No."
"Come on Frank," Eva pouted to the pilot who was still communicating over the intercom. "We need to get to the bunker and the only way we can find out where it is, is if we use the technology on the Revenant Wing to try to find it."
"No Eva, your father would probably have me killed if I were to allow you to go into a bunker full of assassins."
"But Frank, we need to save our friends, and Blaise is probably in there already."
"I still say no. Give me a good reason to let you guys go in there and I might consider it."
There were a few moments of silence as Frank waited patiently on the other end of the intercom. "If we do not go in there to save our friends, they will die. If we have to rip you out of the ship and take it ourselves we will do it. So if you want to supervise us to ensure we don't do anything too stupid, you will fly this ship into the air and use the 3d mapping tech on this ship and find that bunker."
There was only silence as a response for a couple moments before the three teens felt the floor shake as the Revenant Wing take off of the ground.
"Reita, where are we?" Alex asked her while trying to break out of the bonds.
"I really don't know," she replied struggling against her own.
"So," a voice said from the darkness of the room, "I guess you are wondering why you have been brought here."
"Yeah, that kind of is the question in our minds at the moment," Alex responded, "So would you mind telling us."
"Why did you come to Eriford?" he asked just as the bindings started to loosen on his wrists. "I wouldn't do that. We have four trained snipers on each of you with aura piercing bullets in their chambers. Get your wrists out of the binds and we will shoot you both. Now, why did you come to Eriford?"
"Honestly, we thought it would be fun to join our friends on a mission."
"And who are these friends?"
"What? They aren't here?" Alex asked looking around the room. "They were with us when we came here. There were eight of us. Teams BLZE from Beacon and AQRS from Atlas. You guys have two of us."
"And who are the rest of your friends?"
"Why should we answer?" Reita asked shooting the shadows a glare.
"Because if you don't we will shoot you."
"Hey," Alex said to the shadows, "Did you know that he body is made up of on average 70% water?"
"Yeah," the shadow replied somewhat questionably.
"Well, you must not've heard of us. My name is Alexander Wright. My family comes from a long line of great musicians, but I decided to become a hunter. Now each person in this world has a specific semblance, me, her, even you. She and I have very interesting semblances that helps us during combat. Now do you want to know what mine is?" Alex asked with a smirk forming on his face.
"What?"
"Hydrokinesis," he replied and opened his hand that created a soft blue glow. Then suddenly there were eight gunshots that sounded and debris fell from the ceiling. "And now that I have your attention. I am going to release your arms since it really is hard to focus on 18 things at once." The light died from his hands for a moment before it glowed again. "Much better, now what each of you is feeling is a slight tightening in your chest, that is me gripping your heart. One of you will come over and release my teammate. Anything bad happens to her I crush your hearts, someone tries to do something I crush your hearts. Got it?"
"Alright," the hooded man said walking forward coming closer to the two. Walking to Reita he stood there for a moment before quickly turning to Alex pressing a giant revolver to his head. "Nice bluffing kid, but I can recognize a bluff when I hear one. You said it yourself, focusing on 18 things at once is difficult and all the power you had to do was redirect their arms. Now that you're focusing on less things you made it seem that you still had more power by slightly squeezing our chests. The only possible way you could hurt us by screwing with our hearts would be by crushing one of our hearts, then the eight snipers in the room would shoot you instantly." The snipers were about to shoot them again before Alex quickly redirected their arms. Trying it on the hooded man he tried to move the giant revolver to no avail. "Wondering why you can't screw with my arm? Simple, this isn't my original arm."
"So, is there any way we can talk you out of killing us?" Alex asked only making Reita sigh.
Quickly turning invisible for a second to distract the snipers she flipped the chair backwards hitting the ground breaking the chair. Grabbing wooden stakes from the broken chair she turned visible just as she pressed the tip of the stake against the hooded man's neck.
"So, Alex keep working with their arms, this guy moves I'll stab him right in the jugular," Reita replied coldly.
"Reita, sometimes I could just kiss you, but right now I'm stuck to this chair," Alex responded emphasising his point by shaking his arms.
"Do that and I will castrate you with this stake. Now, douche in the hoodie, remove his bonds." The man didn't argue much, keeping the revolver to Alex's head he moved his other hand down to cut the rope.
"Finally," Alex said standing up out of the chair. "Hey asshole, just for the record I did that one handed." With a swift movement of both glowing hands the eight snipers in the room hit the wall and were knocked out. "Now then, I guess we are going to need for you to take us out of here."
"Like hell, I would rather die than help you two out," the man said to the two. The door to the room suddenly opened then slammed behind the person entering the room.
"Now Logan, there really is no need for bloodshed," the new voice said causing all three to look at the new person.
"What the hell are you doing here?" the three of them asked in unison.
"So, go through that manhole, take a left, go past three turns, then right and the bunker is there," Frank said through the intercom as the Revenant Wing landed on the building next to the manhole.
"Thanks Frank, seriously," Eva thanked him as the three teens started heading to the door.
"Woah, wait a moment," Frank said to them, but not over the intercoms, "The only reason I am even allowing you to go in there is if you have adult supervision." Exiting out of the automatic door they were greeted by a man with neatly trimmed silver. He was wearing a simple brown aviator jacket with some military pins pinned on. On his belt he had a simple holster with a desert eagle in it.
"But you're a pilot. Why would you come with us?" Shizuko asked him picking up her double bladed katana.
"Now listen here ninja chick," Frank said taking a cigar from the inside of his coat and lit it. "I may just be a pilot, but I did serve in the military, meaning training and skills required for jobs similar to hunters. Best with a pistol, adequate with a knife. Now, do you want to save your friends or not?"
"And why does the sewer have to smell horrible?" Shizuko asked covering her nose.
"Well, it's a sewer," Frank emotionlessly replied. "Be thankful we're only in a storm drain. Still the other kinds do smell better than a men's locker room."
"Well we should hurry up and-"
"Wait," Eva interjected motioning for everyone to stop. "We are currently heading towards an assassin hideout, and we haven't even seen a guard."
"So, what are you trying to say? Maybe the assassins are currently off fighting those robots you mentioned earlier," Quinton suggested.
"But to leave their base unguarded? If only there was a way we could check for life signs."
"Well, we do have one," Shizuko said tapping Quinton on the shoulder. Almost instantly he put his greatsword onto his back and pulled out his shield then started to bend it.
"What are you guys doing?" Frank asked looking over.
"Well," Quinton said as the shield finished tits mechanical transformation, "Naturally people are afraid of getting injured, and I have a rocket launcher." He raised his voice to alert anyone in the tunnel at that last part as a slot opened on his shoulder and a puck sized thing shot out. "So naturally, if we were to send them off in a specific direction they would move out of the way, and if we use Eva's semblance she could easily detect the movement." He slid the puck shape into the open slot on top of the shield and the mechanisms started whirring as the puck grew in size shaping into a small missile. "So, let's see who's been watching." Just then he pulled the trigger sending the rocket down the tunnel lighting it up to an unnatural level for a rocket. "Also, my missiles can double as flares."
As soon as the tunnel was illuminated the four of them could easily see six hooded figures who had stuck to the shadows and were now found. Without even a second thought the six hoods bolted down the tunnel back in the direction of the bunker.
"Ha! We scared them!" Shizuko exclaimed before Eva grabbed her by the collar and started to chase after them.
"Don't be an idiot, they are going back to the bunker to get reinforcements," Eva nearly shouted at her. "We need to get down there so we can stop them from getting help."
"Well, I think we're a bit late," Frank said after he had rounded the corner. The others were confused for a moment before they rounded the corner to be greeted by 12 rifles pointed at their heads. "Now I am not forcing you guys to do anything, but I think this is the part where we follow them in."
They didn't exactly know what they were expected when they were entering the bunker. After the entered through the doorway they had everyone place their weapons on the table, which they didn't argue as much. Then one of the assassins told the guard that Quinton has missiles in his armor they had him take that off, and after several stripping jokes and a mocking way of taking off the armor they managed to get into the main room of the bunker.
The main room was a large open area with several levels all filled with empty computer stations leading up to a platform on the top level. After several prods to their backs with the barrels of the assault rifles the assassins managed to get the students and pilot down to the bottom.
"So, my colleagues inform me that three kids and an old guy managed to sneak into this bunker," a voice said from the top platform not making himself known. "What we would like to know is how and why."
"What did you do to our friends?" Eva demanded then was quickly hit in the back by the butt of the rifle.
"Wait a second," the voice said then walked closer to the edge of the platform. "What are you guys doing here?"
Looking up they saw a man wearing a white half mask shaped like a wolf, and a grey aviator trench coat over a thin black armored combat suit.
"Blaise?" Eva asked.
"Seriously? That's Blaise?" Frank asked raising an eyebrow.
"How many wolf faunuses do you know?"
"That is true."
"Not to mention the voice and the trench coat didn't give it away?"
"In my defense I've only ever spoken to him through an intercom."
"We're getting past the problem here," Blaise said taking off the mask showing he had a small cloth mask covering the bottom part of his face. Then he pulled out his glasses and put them back on his face. "How did you guys find this place?"
"Advanced sonar technology and a general location from Lucius," Eva answered. "Can you get these guys to remove these binds?"
"Oh yeah sure," Blaise answered then turned to the confused hooded people. "These people are my friends so I would appreciate it if you would remove their binds and not hurt them." After a bit of grumbling from the assassins they agreed and cut the ropes around everyone's wrists. "Now get back to work you guys, The Order is going to be coming in within a couple of hours and we need as many of our people back here as possible for the fight."
"So this is where you ran off to," Eva aid as Blaise was walking down the wall to the ground floor.
"Well, yeah."
"And why didn't you say anything?" Quinton asked.
"Because of reasons," Blaise responded. "Anyway, I just came back here and managed to get Alex and Reita from getting shot, so that is a plus."
"But what about Lapis and Zaria?" Shizuko asked.
"What about them? They aren't with you?" Blaise asked showing some concern.
"Wait it wasn't your guys who kidnapped everyone?" Quinton asked.
"There were only six guys outside doing recon," Logan said appearing behind Blaise still with his hood up. "If there were other people in your group they were probably taken by The Order."
"Shit," Blaise cursed. "Well, we have some serious problems then. The Order is coming with their armies, most of The Brothers are off doing their own missions, we now have 22 people, were roughly outnumbered 30 to 1, and they have hostages. Any ideas?"
"How long before The Order gets here?" Reita asked entering the open room.
"We estimate they will be here within four hours," Logan answered her.
"So we need to come up with a plan for four hours from now. Any suggestions?" Blaise asked turning to the group.
"Well, I know we just got here," a hooded girl said entering the room, "but there might be a way we could figure this out. Tell them Daniel."
Another figure entered the room from behind the hooded girl who was somewhat taller than her. "We were talking with your two friends here and they both informed us that you arrived on a warship and that the pilot was very experienced." Frank quickly bowed his head to both Alex and Reita. "So what Ozella and I believe could happen is your pilot takes a few of our assassins into the sky using the clouds as cover. When the forces come in he will use the dust cannons to try to take out the incoming ships. If the ships approach too close he will fly close to them and let off an assassin who'll enter the ship and disable the automated flight causing it to crash, and on the way down they will bail out using the standard parachute to land to safety avoiding any head injuries," Daniel said directing that last bit at Blaise.
"What else?" Eva asked raising an eyebrow.
"That is all we have," Ozella sheepishly said scratching the back of her neck.
"So the gang's all here," Logan grumbled to himself, "and still the same as ever."
"Heard that," both Blaise and Ozella said to him.
"Whatever," Logan grumbled. "You guys are still overlooking something. We are still outnumbered. Yes the Beacon students could probably handle a certain number of the robots and we could handle a bit more, but we are still outnumbered. We need an army of our own and the rest of The Brothers are a long ways away."
"I do have an Idea," a new voice said entering the room throwing Eva's spear into the middle of the floor.
"Dust, who is it this time," Blaise grumbled putting his face into his hands.
"Oh hey, it's Lucius," Eva pointed out waving to the man.
"Yes, I have come," Lucius proudly declared. "I have come with several cases of gravity dust rounds and healing dust."
"Oh great, now we have to deal with him the entire time," Logan grumbled sitting down on a swivel chair and started to spin.
"We're still outnumbered," Daniel noted to everyone in the room. "We still need an army."
"Well, I do have an idea," Alex smirked making the three other members of team AQRS roll their eyes.
Here we go. Team BLOD, The Order, The Brothers, and even Frank. It may seem a bit rushed, but hey, what can you do. I've been dragging these kinds of things on for too long. I was literally planning for an arc where Lucia was kidnapped by The Black Boot society and the Campione Bros go in to save her, but that may be a bit too long, not to mention I think you guys are starting to get bored.
So next chapter will reveal what has been happening with Lapis and Zaria, and what the heck Alex's plan is.
So have a nice day you guys, leave any comments in the reviews, and I am going to bed.
