HA HA HA HA HA HA. I'M BACK WITH ANOTHER CHAPTER OF A BLZEING REMNANT. FINALLY!
Anyway, I know I've probably built a lot of expectations with it being 20 days since my last update with this story.
And if you were expecting an epic fight scene, well just read ahead.
Enjoy
'Ring, ring, ring,' an alarm sounded causing Blaise to roll away from the sound flattening his wolf ears to his head, but that only seemed to make the alarm louder. 'Ring! Ring! Ring!'
"Stop it, it's too early to me doing this," Blaise mumbled patting the area near where his scroll usually is.
'Ring! Ring! Ring!'
"Shut up."
'WAKE UP YOU LAZY IDIOT!' the scroll screamed at Blaise shocking him awake.
"Did you just yell at me?" Blaise asked the scroll then looked at the notification to see an audio file being played titled 'Lapis Alarm #275.' "Really? You leave to go to Atlas and yet you still annoy me." Turning the alarm off Blaise laid back down on his bed closing his eyes for a moment before Lapis's voice sounded from his scroll.
'Really? You can't just wake up like a normal person? I will give you a few seconds before I force you awake.'
"What are you going to do? You're just a recording," Blaise mumbled before Lapis sighed.
'Fine then, just don't hunt me down and kill my family?'
"What?" Blaise asked then the scroll released a high pitch sound only audible to dogs forcing Blaise to cover his ears and claw towards the scroll. "FUCK YOU LAPIS! I WILL KILL YOU!" Blaise shouted just before he reached his scroll.
"So, should we wake up Blaise for breakfast since his team has left him alone?" Jaune asked his team as they were heading to the cafeteria.
"It would be nice of us to-" Pyrrha said before a yell was heard from behind BLZE's door.
"FUCK YOU LAPIS! I WILL KILL YOU!" they heard Blaise shout from behind the door.
"You know, I don't think that it would be a good idea for us to do that," Nora said eying the door cautiously.
"I think that may be a good idea," Jaune said walking past the door followed quickly by his team.
"LUCIA! WHY DID YOU NOT REMEMBER TO FIND A WAY DOWN FROM HERE?!" Sedric shouted to his sister looking down the side to the tower to try and find a way down.
"Why don't you use your special arm or leg to magically be able to find a way down?" she asked him rolling her eyes. "Or why don't you just use your scroll to call someone?"
"You fought me in my pajamas. Do you think I carry my scroll on me when I waltz around in my pajamas? I just wanted to hang out with Blaise. Why don't you use your scroll to call someone?"
"For the same reason you had," she said gesturing towards her tank top and sport shorts. "Could we just drop your arm off the building and hope someone see it?"
"Fuck no, this is my arm. Blaise cut off the old one and it is a pain in the neck to put in and pull out," Sedric said gesturing to the area where the arm was connected to his shoulder.
"What about your semblance?" she asked looking over the side of the building.
"If you want to hit the ground and die, yes. I can only increase someone's gravity. Why don't you use yours to have us fly down."
"Not gonna happen. I could fly me down and that would only be me jumping off and using my semblance as an air cushion at the bottom. If we both went down, we'd both die."
"Then why don't you just go down, get some rope or something and harpoon it up to me."
"Or I could just borrow two pairs of Gravity Boots from Blaise's team and just come back up."
"Oh, you mean the special boots created by Orlando Cooper of the Manos Corporation," he said making Lucia glance over to her brother questionly.
"Oh right, you didn't get the memo. Well, we're going to need to make a trip or make a call," she said before she jumped off the roof.
"What do you mean?" he asked her as she reached out of distance for her to hear him.
"Fucking Lapis and his stupid sonic alarm," Blaise grumbled to himself as he entered the cafeteria ignoring the eyes looking at his sloppy appearance.
"You look terrible," Ruby said to Blaise as he sat down at the table.
"I feel like a victim of a hate crime," Blaise groaned as he slammed his forehead onto the table. "So, when is the Beacon Academy Beat Down today?"
"It should start around two," Yang said poking Blaise's head. "So, are you two going to show off what you've been working on for the past few weeks?" Her only response from him was soft breathing.
"Blaise?" Ruby asked poking Blaise's side. "Blaise? Wake up." After several moments of poking Blaise tiredly swatted his hand to the side pushing Ruby's away. "Long night?"
"Stupid Lapis," Blaise mumbled as Yang started to place her empty cup on his head.
"What's going on here?" Weiss asked sitting down across from her partner.
"Blaise is going on about being a victim of a hate crime and something about Lapis," Yang explained placing her plate on top of the cup on Blaise's head. "So where's Blake?"
"She's sleeping," Weiss replied. "She finally fell asleep last night and I'm surprised your little freak out didn't wake her up."
"What freak out?" Blaise asked raising his head keeping the mini tower balanced.
"Last night Yang had a nightmare about Ruby walking on the ceiling or something," Weiss explained causing Blaise to slowly turn to Ruby with a suspicious glare forming on his face.
"Strange," Blaise replied placing some napkins on the table before lowering his head onto the table still keeping the mini dish tower on his head.
"How is he doing tha-" Weiss started to ask before Yang covered her mouth.
"Ssh ssh ssh," Yang said leaning closer to Weiss's ear. "Don't question it when physics stops working."
"Alright you brute," Weiss huffed pushing Yang's hand away from her mouth.
"Hello~" Nora greeted as she and the rest of JNPR walked over to the table and sat down with a comical pile of pancakes on her plate.
"Are they even serving pancakes today?" Ruby asked both Yang and Weiss who both shrugged.
"I thought they were serving eggs, sausage, and toast," Blaise said as Yang picked up Ruby's empty dishes and built onto the dish tower.
"The cooks have learned to keep pancake batter on hand," Ren said taking a sip of his herbal tea.
"So, where's the rest of your team?" Jaune asked Blaise as Nora placed her now empty plate on the dish tower.
"They all went home and so did AQRS. I didn't mainly because two of my siblings are here doing something, I think I last I saw them, Lucia was chasing Sedric down on a boarbatusk," Blaise explained.
"What's the other reason?"
"My house burned down years ago," Blaise mumbled half asleep missing the glares being shot at Jaune from Ruby and Yang. "Anyway, that doesn't matter as much." He then stood up and stretched for a bit still managing to keep the dish tower balanced on his head. "Well, if any of us are going to participate in the Beacon Academy Beat Down, we might want to get ready." Then he took one step forward and slightly misstepped causing the tower of dishes to fall on the floor scaring him. "WHO PUT PLATES ON MY HEAD?!"
"I'm surprised he kept the dishes balanced on his head for that long," Jaune commented watching Blaise picking up broken dishes while being yelled at by one of the Beacon cooks.
"It probably stayed because the author was bored and wanted to have some comedy put in place," Nora said then stuffed a pancake into her mouth.
"What was that?" Jaune asked her turning around to see she was choking on the pancake. "Ren!" The martial artist simply extended his arm out and smacked Nora's back dislodging the pancake.
"Blaise, hurry up or registration will close," Ruby said pounding the door to the workshop.
"Hey! I had to wash all of the dishes because of what Yang did. Do you know how many dishes the cooks have?" Blaise asked opening the door wearing his new combat suit and his signature trench coat with a battle axe on his back. "Then after that I had to help with preparations for cooking the dinner, so I used my semblance and cooked everything in the school's walk in oven." He grabbed his non-aura cancelling railgun swords and sheathed them on his belt. Reaching to the top of the cabinet he grabbed his railgun pistol and holstered it behind his back under his coat. "Now we should get going."
"Hold on," she replied grabbing his arm.
"To what?" he asked before Ruby sped off using her semblance. Just as she neared the elevator she snapped her fingers activating the gravity boots. Reaching the elevator she quickly threw the doors open with her free hand and ran up the walls of the elevator shaft. Managing to get to the ground floor Ruby opened the doors again and sped out of the building straight for the Emerald forest.
"Where do they keep the gravity boots in here," Lucia asked herself out loud as she walked around the now trashed BLZE dorm room. She remembered that they kept the boots in a small trunk they hide on top of the wardrobe, but when she checked it there were no boots. "Come on, where is Blaise when you need him?"
"SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-" she heard a voice shout as it rocketed across the courtyard straight for the Emerald Forest.
"Of course," she sighed to herself then jumped out of the window cushioning her impact from the fall with her semblance.
"Here we are!" Ruby exclaimed stopping in front of the temple.
"Don't ever do that again," Blaise said falling over onto his face on the forest floor.
"Come on, he have to register. Get a move on," Ruby complained as she grabbed his hand and dragged him through the crowd up to the table where Coco and Velvet were handling registration.
"Do we already have a casualty?" Coco asked from the other side of the table looking at Blaise just as Velvet ran off to get the first aid kit. "Still not as fast as last year though."
"He's just being a baby," Ruby replied waving them off. Then to show then she kicked him in the side causing him to groan.
"Come on, five more minutes, and no sonic alarms," Blaise mumbled rolling away from Ruby.
"Well, we don't have five minutes, the event is about to start," Coco replied getting Ruby's attention. "So, one entry for the Beacon Academy Beat Down."
"There's two of us," Ruby said pointing behind herself.
"Not anymore," Coco said pointing past Ruby. Turning around she didn't see Blaise lying on the ground behind her. What she did see was Lucia riding on the back of a boarbatusk with Blaise laying unconscious on the boarbatusk's tusks. "So, one entry."
"Fine," Ruby huffed as Velvet came back with the first aid kit.
"Where is he?" Velvet asked looking around the area.
"He was too busy to be dead," Coco responded then turned to Ruby. "Anyway, just follow the group of students and you'll find your way to the safe zone."
"Blaise, Blaise, wake up," Lucia said lightly slapping Blaise's cheek waking him up.
"Why can't you people let me sleep? Are you in leagues with Lapis?" Blaise asked her with his eyes turning a slight black.
"No, we just need to borrow your boots for an emergency," she replied confusing him.
"What are you talking about?" he asked sitting up.
"Sedric and I got into a little skirmish and we ended on top of a Beacon tower over night. I managed to get down, but Sedric is still stuck up there."
"And you never even bothered to borrow one of the schools dust ships?"
"Those are only supposed to be used by hunters or school staff when they need them."
"And you are both of those," Blaise said making Lucia freeze in realization.
"Well, we're doing this the complicated way," Lucia said then grabbed Blaise's boots.
"Not a scratch," Blaise said doing a quick salute as he fell over onto his back and passed out.
"Alright, gravity boots," Sedric said sliding the metallic boot onto his feet. "Now let me get this right. One snap and I can walk on any surface at any angle, two locks the direction in, and three disengages it."
"That would be correct," Lucia said adjusting her own pair she nabbed from her room before running back up the tower.
"Well then, let's try it out." Sedric smiled as he quickly snapped his fingers once and ran off the side of the tower.
"You need to aim your foot first," Lucia sighed walking to the edge snapping her fingers. She leaned over, placed her foot down on the wall and continued walking down the tower quickly hear the smash of her older brother hitting the wall.
"Hey, hey, time to wake up," Sedric said lightly slapping Blaise's face with his robotic hand.
"Anyone else getting deja vu?" Blaise asked opening his eyes to see both his brother and sister kneeling over him.
"So why is he soo tired?" Lucia asked Sedric who shrugged.
"My best guess is that when he went for a little jog with his red friend his blood drained from his head causing him to be very prone to fainting."
"And where did you get enough medical knowledge for that?"
"Basic biology and knowledge of physics," Sedric replied heaving Blaise onto his shoulder causing Blaise's railgun pistol to fall out of his coat. "Lucia, get that. I'll take him back to his room."
Picking the pistol up she inspected it. It seemed a tad bit larger than the previous model probably meant for firing larger projectiles faster. Getting a firm grip on the gun she aimed it into the courtyard to look through the high powered scope. The scope seemed to be on par with some of the more advanced sniper scopes. Then with one accidental movement she pulled the trigger.
Suddenly the gun rocketed back from the recoil smacking Lucia in the forehead. Rubbing her throbbing head she looked to see what she had hit and she paled. She managed to hit the hunter statue with the high impact explosive round causing a small explosion decimating what was formerly one of the more famous statues around the school.
"Run! Sedric run!" Lucia shouted as she bolted past the brothers. Sedric quickly looked over his shoulder and saw the destruction Lucia had caused, and without a second thought he ran straight for his dorm securing his little brother to his shoulder with his grapple hand.
"Ozpin!" Glynda shouted into the headmaster's office causing said headmaster to jump in his chair spilling his coffee. "They destroyed the statue again."
"I'm honestly surprised it took them this long," Ozpin chuckled to himself cleaning up his spilt coffee only to jump when Glynda slapped her crop onto the table. "I mean, who were the ones who destroyed it?"
"One of your newer employees, Lucia Campione."
"And was she participating in the Beacon Academy Beat Down?"
"Well no, but that's not wha-"
"Alright then, so the BABD is not responsible for this meaning that it will not be cancelled this year," Ozpin smiled as he picked up the tipped over mug.
"Remember last year when a student died?"
"It was only for 13 minutes," Ozpin waved her off. "So, I trust you will go down and repair the damage."
"Of course, sir," Glynda grumbled as she turned around and headed towards the elevator turning her voice down to a low mumble. "The same day, year after year that statue gets destroyed and he never does anything about it."
"Ow," Blaise groaned propping himself up on his bed after waking up to see his two siblings cleaning the dorm room. "What are you guys doing?"
"Cleaning," Sedric replied sliding the battleaxe Blaise was carrying under Lapis's bed, "since somebody decided it was a good idea to ransack the room while I was stuck on the tower."
"I was looking for spare gravity boots," Lucia defended herself.
"We keep those in the small chest on the wardrobe, but the only pair would've been mine since the others took theirs home with them," Blaise said making Lucia to smack herself.
See, this is what happens when procrastination take full hold of you. That and the fact I was writing a new story among other things. I relly did want to make a cool scene with the BABD, but then my brain drew a blank and filled with Shine Bright Like the STARs. Now, I intend to do one last spring break chapter before going back to the actual RWBY storyline with my own thing with Breach that doesn't even involve RWBY or JNPR.
Anyway, I'm going to go finish up my team STAR story and post these both.
Good night,
