Juvia

"I think my head is going to burst," I muttered, as I watched the ongoing (and escalating) battle of World War III between Erza and Ultear unfold before my eyes.

It had already been a week since we had formed, but every single practice session we had was ruined by this unbelievable tension Ultear and Erza had. Once it got broken, it was pretty endless. We hadn't even completed one song, and the auditions were in a week.

"Honestly Ultear, we keep going out of it, because you're not in sync with the rest of us," Erza complained.

"Well what about you?! You're not even starting on time with the rest of us!" Ultear retorted. They were literally nose to nose.

Erza opened her mouth to say something, but Ultear cut her off. "You know what? It's been a week, and we haven't done any shit. I quit," she snarled, yes literally snarled at the rest of us. She started putting her electric guitar in her case and gathering her notes.

Wendy gaped at her, unable to say anything. I sighed loudly.

Something crashed behind me, I turned around, to see Lucy's chair on the ground and her beside it, arms clenched and her head down.

"What the fuck are you talking about," she said slowly. My eyes widened. "Lucy calm-" I started but she cut me off.

"How can you say that when we all so willingly joined. How can you waste Juvia's efforts at writing our very first song, Wendy's hard work at forming a tune, with your STUPID quarrels with Erza? You guys haven't done any shit, so don't say that this is shit," she said, so lowly that the atmospheric pressure seemed to drop. No one dared to move. Ultear was frozen.

"If you are going to give up this easily, then please, leave. The same too you too Erza, I don't care if it was your idea first."

A moment of silence ensued. Wendy and I shared glances.

Then the most unbelievable thing happened. Erza walked over to Ultear, and hugged her.

"Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pick on you like that. I promise, we'll keep practicing till we get it right," she said apologetically.

"I'm sorry too. Yeah, " Ultear said, before they pulled out of their embrace.

Then they looked over to Lucy. "We're sorry, and to you guys too," they said, looking at us.

Wendy smiled, I shurugged. Lucy nodded. "Yeah now let's get back to where we were," she said, her face still hard as stone, as she grabbed her sticks.

I've never thought about, but Lucy was a really stern and impatient person in truth, even though she was all nice on the outside.

Well, it didn't really matter. As we finished out last set, I grinned, looking at everyone. They were all smiling.

Cause that was the best kind of music I had ever heard.

As we entered the building of Fairy Tail Records, the cold air-conditioning hit my face. Ever since my outburst last week, everyone had started practicing properly, and I think out music was pretty awesome.

It was the day of the auditions and everyone was in high spirits. Well, except me. I had an hard and uneasy feeling at the pit of my stomach. It wasn't because of my nervousness.

I hadn't told my parents about Project Superstar. Like, when my grades were already failing, did I actually think they would allow me to go for this? Well, with the little intellect I still have, I obviously knew the answer was a big fat NO. Yet, I knew, that music was my path. But I wasn't something they could ever understand.

"Hey," Erza came around to my side. "It'll be okay. Loosen up," she said, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.

It's at times like these when I remember that we're supposed to be best friends.

"Yeah, just worried about how my parents will react if we get through, and we go on TV and stuff."

Erza turned to face me. "Firstly, we are going to get through. Secondly, if they see you on TV they're gonna see how amazingly talented and awesome you are. "

I smiled.

"GUYS WE HAVE A PROBLEM!" Juvia yelled, waving the form she was filling up. We crowded around her. "Look," she said, pointing at a blank in the form.

"Oh snap…" Ultear said.

"We don't have a name for out band, darn." Juvia said

How could we have forgotten? I thought, slapping myself mentally.

"How about 'The Awesome People'?" Erza suggested, We all groaned, sighing.

We all suggested a few names, but we couldn't seem to agree on one. "Urm…" Wendy spoke up, in a small voice. "I think I've got one…"

"GROUP 15 please report to the auditorium," the announcement blared over the speakers.

"Well this is it guys," I said. My feet were numb. I could tell they felt the same way too. "Let's go," I said, drawing my sticks out of pack, as we walked towards the doors of the auditorium.

"We'll cross the world, we'll cross the world, we'll cross it together…." I sang the final lines, as Juvia played her last chords and Lucy the final set on her drums.

The judges looked at us, almost in wonder. They turned to earch other discussing something in hushed voices. Then they turned back to us, as we came out and stood in a line.

"Well honestly, that was some impressive music we heard, especially from a group of young individuals," one said.

"The lyrics were very original, they weren't mainstream, and they resonated very closely to the heart," the other said.

I could see Wendy's and Juvia's eyes shining. They were the ones who had put this together.

"Well…" they said, looking at their sheet of paper. The cameras turned to us, filming the entire thing. The crowd hushed.

I was praying so hard, my eyes, fingers and toes were clenched, so tightly. If I ever wanted anything so badly, it was this.

"CRUSH, you are getting into Project Superstar!" they said in unison. I screamed. Well, we all screamed actually, dancing and jumping around the stage before having a group hug. There were tears in my eyes. We had made the first big step. The crowd roared with applause and cheering.

"We did it, we did it!" Wendy cried out, tears rolling down her little cheeks.

Lucy was smiling so widely, and I've never seen her smile to this extent ever since we were 13.

"CRUSH is the second group to make it to Project Superstar, and wow what a performance! Catch Project Superstar on Fairy Tail TV next week…" the commentator was saying, as we went backstage. The other groups and staff congratulated us, as we walked towards the back entrance.

"Well guys," I started, "we're off on our journey!"

They cheered in unison. Little did we know, it was out first big step towards what was in store for us.

He sat in the back row, as far away from the crowd as possible. His bodyguard who he called Big Boss sat next to him, watching the performance.

"Hey what's that group's name?" He asked.

"Crush, I think," Big Boss said, his arms folded.

He rested his head on his arm. "They're good," he said, a small smile forming on his face.

A few rows in front, a girl turned behind, her eyes widened and she started tugging her friend's sleeve, screaming in excitement.

"Hmm," Big Boss grunted.

"Yeah, I know, let's leave," the boy said, getting up.

His pulled his hoodie over his face, glancing one last time at the stage. One member caught his attention. The drummer. He didn't really know why though.

He smirked again, his pink bangs falling over his eyes, as he turned away and went out of the auditorium.
