Please let me hear your thoughts on this :) I'd greatly appreciate it.

It was official, Luke's life sucked and it just kept getting worst. He wasn't an idiot, he knew being on the road with the WWE was a privilege that thousands of people would be grateful for and he would be grateful too if he didn't have to follow his perfect sister around like her lap dog.

He loved Athena, he really did. She'd always taken care of him; he couldn't remember their mother dying but he vaguely remembered their father drinking himself to death after their mother's untimely death, but he vividly remembered all the times Athena had put him before herself during the years where their grandmother had to work two jobs to provide for them. It was Athena who would walk him to his school bus and meet him off it, it was Athena who as a teenager stayed in on the weekends to look after him, and even after she'd signed with the WWE they had weekly skype dates where she'd help him with any homework he was confused with.

Not only had she been the perfect granddaughter growing up, doing her chores and staying in and babysitting without a complaint, now she was the family bread winner, allowing their ageing grandmother to retire. Their grandmother practically saw Athena as a saint.

And he was just the trouble maker.

He could see the sheer disappointment in his grandmother's eyes every time he screwed up and then the bright happiness as Athena walked through the door. Luke had tried to be better, to be the perfect child that Athena had been, but he couldn't be. He liked going out and parting with his friends, he liked the adrenaline of running from the police and he loved the girls that came with group of people he was hanging out with. Sure, he would have liked to have finished school, but what was the point?

It's not like he could move away anyway. His grandmother wasn't getting any younger and he and Athena were her only family, and with Athena constantly flying around the world he certainly wasn't going to up and leave her alone when she really needed him.

So he was going to enjoy himself while he was young before settling for some job that he'd probably hate and with a wage he'd probably hate more, and he refused to apologise for it.

Luke dragged his feet as he pushed open a silent gate that lead him into the pool area of the hotel, dim lights creating a glowing effect. Walking to the middle of the loungers he dropped down onto one letting out a sigh as he crossed his and folded his arms behind his head.

He just wanted to go home. He didn't even know what he was doing here, Athena lecturing him at every opportunity wasn't going to make him want to stay in every night and take up knitting. It just made him more determined to go home back to normality.

Hearing footsteps Luke's head shot up to see Dean heading towards him, a cigarette held in one hand and a six pack of beer in another.

"I'm not here for round two," Dean said gruffly stopping in front of the lounger.

"Good, I wouldn't want to embarrass you," Luke retorted quickly.

"Ya' mind if I sit?" Dean nodded to the lounger next to Luke as he took a drag of his cigarette.

Luke wanted to tell him no, to tell him to fuck off and then punch him in the mouth again, this time he'd hopefully cause some damage too. But Athena had made him promise he'd behave. He'd punched Dean in the mouth only for her to lecture him about it the moment they got in the car, even though she'd punched Dean too! She'd told him he had to be polite and act appropriately with her co-workers even if he did dislike them, she guiled him by telling him that if one the hierarchy of the WWE had seen his actions she would get into trouble. He'd of coursed pointed out that she would have got herself in trouble seconds after he did, but she seemed to go deaf at that point.

Fine. If she wanted him to be nice to everyone, he'd be nice, nice to Dean. Niceish.

"Whatever," Luke grumbled.

Dean placed the beers down on the lounger before sitting down slowly; he didn't lay like Luke he sat to the side facing the younger man, his elbows resting on his knees and one of his calloused hands rubbing his stubbly chin.

They sat in silence for several minutes as Dean finished his cigarette, the quiet only being disrupted when Dean pulled a beer free and pulled the cap off, taking a big swig. He watched Luke with his icy blue eyes as if contemplating something before pulling free another beer and holding it out to Luke.

Luke took the beer as casually as if he were twenty-one.

"I saw you storming out here when I was checking in," Dean began. "You have a fight with your sister?"

"Yeah," Luke mumbled, not elaborating.

"You shouldn't do that. She loves you."

Luke scrunched his brows and replied quickly. "Maybe you shouldn't fight with her, she loves-" Luke stopped mid-sentence seeing Dean's eyes bulge. "Never mind," Luke said shaking his head and taking a deep swig of his beer.

"How is she anyway?" Dean asked, the gravel in his voice croaking.

Christ. Luke rolled his eyes. It was one thing for him to take Athena's lecture literally, and to sit here and exchange polite chit chat with Dean even though he wanted to kick him in the face for hurting his sister, it was another thing to sit there and discuss his sister with the man who'd hurt her so badly.

"I don't think you get to ask me that," as much as it quietly pleased Luke that it would probably piss Athena off knowing he'd taken her advice and was sitting sharing a beer with Dean, he wasn't going to give Dean information about Athena.

Dean looked momentarily disappointed before shaking himself and smiling softly. "That's fair enough. Roman told me you've been sent to travel with Athena for a while, that true?"

"Not sent, taken. Basically kidnapped actually. It's like my grandma and my sister think a couple of weeks of her bitching at me is going to turn me into a priest."

Dean laughed before finishing his beer though he quickly opened another one. "I'm not an expert but you seem like an alright kid, what did you do to get dragged out on the road?"

Luke shook his head, his mouth full of beer before swallowing. "Nah, my turn. Why'd you do it?"

"I've done a lot of things in my life kid, you're going to have to elaborate," Dean replied his voice gravelly, though Luke knew that Dean knew exactly what he was talking about.

"Why'd you think it was okay to use my sister then let the world find out? Why'd you think it was okay to break her heart and make her one big joke in one swoop?" Luke asked cuttingly.

Dean's tongue slowly slipped out of his mouth, swiping against his bottom lip. He rubbed his bottom jaw as he thought carefully over his answer. "I never wanted to hurt her, I just," he took a deep breath, "I just wanted to hurt Seth."

"So you were using her?" Luke snapped sitting up straighter.

"No!" Dean instantly replied. "I mean, I was at the beginning but then-"

Luke interrupted him. "But what, dude? You had a personality transplant and realised you had no fuckin' morals?"

"No, I fell for her." Luke stared at darkly at Dean. "I fell, shit deep, never saw it coming, to the point of no return in love with her." Dean's voice was hoarse and genuine.

Luke watched Dean quietly, begrudgingly believing everything the older man said. Everything about Dean screamed he was telling the truth. His hands had been braced out in front of him as if pleading, his face had been soft and his eyes honest.

Finally Luke stood before bursting out laughing.

Dean narrowed his eyes in on the teenager.

"I can't listen to this. This whole thing is like a soap opera, 'he loves her and she loves him, but they can never be together because he's a jerk, but oh wait, it's all one big misunderstanding, he never meant for her to get hurt.' "Luke scoffed, speaking in a mocking voice. "I'm sorry I asked. I really can't listen to this shit, no offense." Luke began walking off. "Don't worry I won't tell Athena you gave her underage brother a beer, I wouldn't want the love birds to argue," he said sarcastically, walking away from Dean.

"Okay, I'll only be gone a couple of hours. You're just going to stay here in the hotel right?" Athena said for the tenth time, fiddling with the strap of her purse whilst standing by the hotel door.

Luke didn't look up from his phone. "Where else am I going to go?"

"Right. I'm doing a lot of interviews today so if there's an emergency just text me and I'll get out of there and call you. I won't be able to answer if you call me, gottit'?"

"For the millionth time, yes."

"Okay," Athena breathed. "See you later."

Turning Athena headed out the door, dragging her feet to get to the car that the WWE had arranged to ferry her to and from the interviews. She was dreading the hours of interviews that she was going to have to endure; she'd never had an issue with them before, knowing they were vital to promoting the business, but now that she wasn't getting any ring time they were becoming more and more of a chore. It didn't help matters that the WWE specifically warned all the interviewers that they were not allowed to bring up the scandal that was the video of Dean speaking about Athena vulgarly. Athena knew that the interviewers desperately wanted to ask her about it and resented the fact that they couldn't.

She knew she was running late so she forced herself to rush through the lobby and out to the front where a black SUV and waiting driver stood.

"Miss Robins?" The driver asked.

"Yes. I'm so sorry I'm late." Athena replied brushing a strand of auburn hair behind her ear.

"That's okay, Miss Robins," the driver said opening the door for Athena.

She flashed a quick smile at the driver before thanking him and turning to climb into the car before stopping suddenly.

Dean sat tapping his foot quickly against the floor, a peak hat pulled low though he stared down at Athena.

"What are you doing here?" Athena demanded to know quickly, still standing outside the car, the driver waiting patiently to close the door behind her.

"I swear I didn't know you were sharing this car," he said immediately. "Since Rome got injured and I came back they put me on all of his press and stuff."

Athena sucked in a sharp breath, not wanting to share the journey with Dean, not wanting to be within touching distance of him. But she knew she was already running late so she reluctantly climbed into the back of the car.

"I don't want to be late," she said explaining, as she buckled her seatbelt and turned in her seat so her back was to Dean. Athena could feel Dean's eyes on her as she turned away from him and she could feel her heart hammering against her chest.

She didn't want to be so close to him, so close she could smell his cologne and feel the heat that naturally radiated from his toned body. She didn't want to turn and look into the depths of his penetrating blue eyes or hear his scratchy voice.

Athena had been feeling sorry for herself for weeks, but since Dean's return at Night of Champions several nights previously, it had turned to anger. She as angry at him for using her, angry at him for disappearing without a word, angry at him for telling Roman that he'd fallen in love with her. The words swirled around her head daily, taunting her. She loved him, or at least she loved the Dean he had presented to her. She didn't even know if that Dean was real. Athena was angry at herself for falling for Dean's charm and for believing him when he told her he wasn't with her to get to Seth.

"You got press all day?" Dean broke the silence.

"Don't," Athena responded quickly, snapping around so she could see Dean. "Please. I really don't want to have small talk with you."

Dean rolled his neck. "Fine no small talk," he said. "I'm sorry."

"Let's just not talk at all," Athena said turning away again.

"Athena," Dean said placing his calloused hand on her forearm. "I'm so sorry babe."

Athena snatched her arm away. "Don't call me that."

Dean let out a deep sigh and ran a hand across his newly cut hair. "I wish I'd never said those things."

"I wish you'd never involved me in your plan to hurt Seth." Athena replied quickly, not making eye contact. "I wish you hadn't used me, I wish you hadn't ruined my career, I wish I hadn't been stupid enough to believe that you actually cared about me."

"I do care about you," Dean responded sitting forward in his seat, he licked his tongue once. "I fuckin' love you."

Athena's eyes bulged. These words weren't new to her. Roman had told her that Dean loved her weeks ago and she thought about it constantly, but hearing the words come out of his perfect mouth made her breath hitch in her throat and her stomach dance.

"Just listen to me okay?" Dean spoke his eyes wide.

"No," Athena replied softly, turning away from him.

Dean's calloused finger gently curled around Athena's jaw pulling her to look at him. "I did think at first I would just mess around with you to get at Seth," Athena began to pull away as Dean continued speaking. "But then I really started to like you and it hurting Seth just became an afterthought, a fuckin' perk of seeing you."

"Well why did you say those things? Those awful things in that tape? Why didn't you just own up and tell me the truth about why you'd first started to date me."

Dean ran his hand across his face and was about to open his mouth to speak when the driver interrupted them.

"We're here," the driver said, getting out the car and opening the door for Athena to get out.

As Athena was about to slip out of the SUV, Dean wrapped his fingers around her wrist stopping her. "I know you probably hate me, but would you just meet me later so we can talk, and I can explain myself?" Athena stared on silently. "I promise if you tell me to leave you alone after that, I'll do it."

Athena contemplated it. She wanted to hear what he had to say, how he'd justify his actions. She wanted when she's stopped being a game to him and actually became a real person? She wanted to make sure he was telling the truth about loving her.

She nodded quietly.

"You'll meet me later?" Dean said, his usual cheeky smile spreading across his face and his bright blue eyes widening.

"One drink," Athena almost whispered before climbing out of the SUV.
