Chapter 9: Nothing's Stronger Than Love
Sonic stood in front of the last person that stood between him and his current goal. That person was Amy Amelia Rose, the one that he finally realised that he had feelings for all these years. 'You must beat her to save her Sonic!' He thought to himself as he snapped out of it and got into a fighting stance as well as Amy. They stared each other down in the eye, knowing that they will beat each other senseless just to get what they want. But to Sonic it was a need, it was a must, and it was the only way to send all of them home again.
"You ready?" Sonic heard Serena asked with concern. "Yeah I'm ready" he replied as Amy charged in for an attack.
Meanwhile...
All of Mobius was falling to it's knees by the hands of Chasadine. The buildings was shattering, collapsing and blowing up in anyway possible. The sky was crimson red, every city was demolished and living folks was no where to be found in this dark age. It felt like the end of the world.
"Damn it!" Knuckles cursed as he slammed his fist on the table which caught the attention of his allies. "Where the hell is Sonic!? He suppose to be back by now!"
"Yeah, the portal opened for him days ago to come back but his not here yet" Tikal said with a worried expression.
"Maybe he have forgotten about us" Vector said like it was obvious.
"Vector, Mr. Sonic would never leave his friends behind!" Cream said with a speech from Cheese afterwards. "Do you have a better explanation?" Rouge asked as she took out a fruit juice from the fridgerator.
"His probably having difficulty with the Sol Emeralds" Tikal thought as Rouge just chuckled from the conclusion. "I guess he couldn't use the Sol Emeralds after all" Knuckles thought with realisation.
"Wait what do you mean?"
"Think about it you guys, not once have we saw Sonic used the Sol Emeralds before so what gives you the idea that he can now?" Knuckles explained as everyone thought about it before sighing in defeat. "You probably right Knuckles" Tikal said sadly.
"So we did that and waited all for nothing?!" Charmy asked with shock.
"It seems so" Knuckles answered before a bright light appeared at the back of him, which caught everyone's attention. Then stood a ebony hedgehog with red streaks on his quills and white fur on his chest. White gloves with two gloden rings on each one and red and white shoes. It was Shadow The Hedgehog.
"Mr. Shadow!" Cream said happily.
"Shadow? What are you doing here?" Knuckles asked with curiosity as Shadow looked at him and asked, "Where's Sonic?"
"Sonic's gone to Blaze's world for the Sol Emeralds which was a waste of time" Tikal said with guilt.
"Why are you looking for him anyways?" Rouge asked as she sat down.
"Faker and I have to fuse to defeat Chasadine"
"Wait you mean into Shadic? But you need the Chaos Emeralds for that" Knuckles explained as Shadow took out all seven glowing Chaos Emeralds from his quills which made everyone gasp.
"How are they even working?" Knuckles asked as Shadow pointed outside the window. Everyone ran and looked through to see a floating Angel Island in the sky.
"But that means the Master Emerald is back!?"
"I saved it just in time with Chaos Control"
"But how did you-"
"Never mind that"
"So the Chaos Emeralds was working this whole time?!"
"Yes and I collected it in a few days just to be told that Sonic's gone to another world"
"Sorry" Tikal apologized.
Meanwhile...
As Serena watched Sonic dodged Amy's every Piko attack, she noticed that he hasn't tried attacking not even once!
"Sonic, you okay?!" She shouted as Sonic jumped a few feet away from Amy. "Yeah, why you ask?"
"You haven't attacked once since this fight started"
"Just laying it low for a sec"
"I know you in love with her but with every second that is wasted Chasadine destroys as much as possible cause she wants to see you!"
"Fine!" Sonic said with a serious face as he speared Amy to the ground and began punching her continuously. A few punches later Amy punched him off from her and swung her mallet towards him which sent him flying through multiple obstacles. "Damn!" Sonic cursed he picked himself up but was punched by Amy's hammer once again in the ground. After several nail hammering attacks, Sonic finally grabbed the hammer and threw away and punch Amy hard in the face, which made her nose bleed.
"I'm sorry Amy...", he said he spin dashed her and finished the poor girl, "...but my friends need me, especially you"
Meanwhile...
"Where are you my LOVE!" Chasadine yelled out as she blew up another city, then another, and another, and another and another. "If you don't show yourself right now then I'll blow another 10 cities on this pathetic planet!"
Meanwhile...
"Urgh, what happened?" Tails asked to noone in particular as he picked himself up and rubbed his head.
"I-I don't know..." Amy stated as she picked herself up as well but crouched in pain from her stomach. "Are you okay?" Tails asked as he also noticed Chaos, Blaze and Silver in the area.
"Blaze?" Silver asked with disbelief at his vision as he thought it was a dream his having, or a mirage.
"Silver?" Blaze asked with disbelief as she thought she was done for in that beast's stomach. But here she was, standing in front of her husband like nothing had happened. After a few seconds they ran and hugged each other with tears of joy falling from their eyes.
"Oh honey, I thought I was a complete goner!"
"Me too, how are we even still alive?"
"I'm not sure" she said as she looked around and noticed the scenery. It was like a wasteland and the arisen had destroyed cities everywhere with a deep red sky.
"Where are we?"
"Wait this can't be," Tails said as he took a few steps closer, "This can't be Mobius".
"Wait, is this Mobius?!" Amy asked as she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"That looks like Station Square!" Tails said as he looked at the smashed up but still standing buildings.
"What happened here?"
"This looks like Chasadine's doing"
"Really?"
"Yeah, the one that controlled you to get closer to Sonic" Tails explained as Amy got angry about that. "Yeah I remembered, and I remember promising to kick her ass for doing that!"
Meanwhile...
"Run!" An elderly hedgehog shouted as he tried to keep up with the evacuation of the city. Unfortunately they all wasted their energy when Chasadine blew it up"
"That's 86 cities so far, are you ready to show yourself Sonikku?!" Chasadine shouted as she blew up another city.
Meanwhile...
"Where are you going?" Rouge asked as Shadow and she exited the house. "I'm going to try to stop her!"
"But you'll get killed!"
"At least I'll try unlike faker!"
"That's stupid! We have to think of a plan!"
"I had one but even the greatest of ideas have to fail once in a while"
"So are you saying you want to get over with your life asap!?"
"Probably"
"No, I won't allow you to kill yourself Shadow!"
"Why?!"
"Because I love you too much!" Rouge said as she began to cry. Shadow just stared at her, focusing on her sudden sobbing. He then walked towards her and placed a hand on her should which made her look up.
"Don't cry Rouge," he said as he kissed her forehead and continued, "and don't lie to yourself either. You love Knuckles before I was activated. Follow your heart, not your instincts".
Before Rouge could even speak Shadow disappeared with Chaos Control which made Rouge cry more. Then an explosion could be heard in the distance which made Rouge's objective more easier.
Meanwhile...
"There goes Shadow," Knuckles said, "now where are we gonna find a comparable partner for Sonic to fuse with".
"As if his gonna come" Vector said as he got a glare from Cream.
"His right," Knuckles admitted, "Sonic forshaken us".
"Stop it you guys!" Tikal said which caught everyone's attention. "We have to be positive!"
"Yeah right," Vector said, "so are you tellin us that all of our friends that died will appear through that front door right now? I don't think so"
But just then the 5 resurrected friends that Sonic saved came through the front door with everyone looking with shock, especially Vector.
"Hey guys, long time no see" Silver greeted with a smirk.
Meanwhile...
Chasadine blew up another city with innocent lives involved. She just frowned at her fireworks she created. "I'm sorry Sonic..." She said softly before being knocked on the head. When she looked at the back she was kicked in the face which made her flew back a bit. It was Shadow who was currently using the green Chaos Emerald in his hand to fly in the air.
"Greetings Chasadine, my name is Shadow The Hedgehog"
"Sorry but I won't be able to remember that name after you die right here right now" Chasadine said as Shadow smirked at the statement. "I'm going to enjoy turning that statement around in your face"
"And I'm going to enjoy proving you wrong!" She said as she flew in for an attack but Shadow dropkicked her causing her to back up. "I'm sorry but I didn't get that last part. Could you repeat that for me please?". Just then Chasadine popped out from behind and slammed her fists on his head causing him to crash into a building which blew up from Chasadine's beam afterwards.
"Like I said: I'm going to enjoy proving you wrong!"
Meanwhile...
"So you have no clue on how you are back from the grave?" Knuckles asked as Amy nodded. "I do" a familiar voice was heard from the front door as everyone looked and saw none other than their hero Sonic.
"Sonic!" Everyone shouted and ran towards him except for Amy who just sat there with a small opened mouth as she watched everyone giving him hugs and handshakes.
"Where were you? And how are you back? The portal closed days ago" Tikal asked with curiosity as Sonic began to explain.
"Well I died and was in the other but somehow I saved mine and everyone else's lives"
"That's a good summary but we gonna die anyways" Vector pointed out the damage the planet have taken by Chasadine. "Yeah, Chasadine was annihilating buildings and lives just to find you"
"*Chuckles* Well I better get going"
"Wait!" Amy said as she walked passed the crowd and stood in front of Sonic with a dull expression. Soon that expression turned into a happy but sobbing expression as Sonic smile warmly at her saying, "Hey there Ames, glad to have you back to your normal self"
Amy just hugged the blue blur with all of her might, just glad to have him back in her arms. To her surprise Sonic The Hedgehog hugged her back even harder but not deadly.
She really was happy to see their hero, HER hero's presence, even if it was just a joyful dream.
"I'm sorry Sonic" she whispered with guilt.
"For what?" He asked with confusion as he broke the hug and kept her arms.
"I'm the reason why Chasadine is out, is fully living. I'm weak and irresponsible"
"Don't say that Amy. It's not your fault, it's noone's fault. She just chose an easy target but you what?"
"What?"
"We'll show her that she shouldn't mess with you"
"Wait what do you mean?"
"What I mean is I need your help to defeat her"
"But what can I do?"
"*Chuckles* You'll see. So are you in?"
"...Sure" She answered with an eager and confident expression.
