Chapter 6

.

Wendy, Cana and I aren't blood related. I was born in the Heartfilia household. It was always only mom, dad, me and the servants.

"Servants?! Don't tell me you were rich! And you 3 aren't blood related ?!" Natsu yelled all of sudden.

"Sorry, must have forgotten to mention it. But it was kinda obvious that we aren't related, no?"

At the time I was five, a girl passed by our house, demanding to see my father. They were talking in his office and after they came out, my father announced that she'll be my sister. "Her name is Cana Alberona. She is only one year older than you." I looked at them surprised. "Alberona? Why not Heartfilia?" Cana blushed when I asked that and said that she doesn't care what her name is.

It was nice for once not to play with the servants.

Five years later, a blue haired boy knocked at our door. Besides him stood a blue haired girl. I thought at first that they were siblings, but after he left the little girl and went away, I changed my mind. My mother said that her name was Wendy Marvell and that she's five. She was clinging to my mother for the first few weeks and didn't want to let go of her. I made me a bit jealous though, seeing my mother taking care of someone else besides me.

Months passed and Wendy didn't want to talk to us. We assumed that it was because she was shy. So one day I was in the garden with Cana and we were talking about our dreams.

"What are you going to do in the future Lucy?"

"I don't know... Have you decided already?"

"Well, maybe a fortune teller."

"Really?! Then, can you read my future?"

Cana took out her cards, which she got from her mother and started putting them on the table. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Wendy looking at us. She looked like she wanted to come and play with us, but didn't have the courage to do that. I waved at her to come and join us. From where I sat it looked like she blushed, but still took a step outside the house and approached us. She took a seat besides us and stared at her hands. Cana was still looking at the cards so I started a conversation with Wendy.

"Do you know what you want to do in the future?"

She shook her head.

"Do you have a dream?"

She nodded.

"Would you tell me about it?"

She blushed a bit. She was about to answer. However, Cana beat her in it and said something first, "I can see your future!" We looked at her a bit surprised. She didn't pay attention to our reaction, "Lucy, you're going to have really bad luck in the future."

"What do you mean by bad luck?!" I asked shocked. She shrugged.

"Maybe you'll lose your job. Or you might not find your prince charming." Wendy said. Cana started laughing at Wendy's statement. "What if you get thrown out of the mansion and have to live in small apartment, where a weirdo will break in." Cana said while laughing.

"Cana was right, althought that weirdo turned out to be a handsome guy, don't you think?" Natsu said with a smirk. "Handsome guy? Oh no, you didn't!" I said angrily. He read my diary. "When did you-" "When I went out, I stopped by your room and saw the diary. And it was literally screaming Read me!"

Wendy was right when she said that everyone would read a diary. Althought, she was also right when she said that I might lose my job...

I was beat red at that time, "S-so what if I lose my job, I can always find a new one! And a small apartment is more comfortable than you think. It won't be that bad! And what if that weirdo turns out to be a really nice and good looking guy! And my future husband doesn't have to be prince charming. He can also be a knight!" I yelled.

They looked surprised by my outburst. That moment my mother and father came out. "You don't have to worry about your future that much, Lucy. We would never let that happen, as long as we're here." My mother said while taking me in her arms.

"And what happened then?" Natsu asked. I sighed. This is so humiliating. "I... I got thrown out." Natsu started chuckling and I got red. "It's not what you think it is! My parents had a huge dept, so they went to visit some family friends to lend money!" After I said that he went serious and also started frowning. I wonder what was going through his mind at that moment. "The next day, the police came at our door and said that they died in a car accident."

Silent tears started running down my cheek again. I wiped them away and continued, "I think Cana was then already in Fairy Tail. So Wendy and I had to move to our aunt in Crocus. The rest of the story must be clear, right?" Natsu smiled and nodded. It was obviously a fake smile though. "But still, it is funny that Cana and Wendy were right about every prediction they made about your future." He smiled again, this time a real smile. It seems like he wanted to change the topic.

"Eventhough I wanted to marry a prince." I said with a pout. He raised a brow at my words, "Why would you want a prince? Dragons are far cooler than those idiots!" Dragons? Natsu sure has an interesting perspective on things. "Why are dragons better than princes?" He started shaking his head, "Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, do I always have to explain everything to you. So first of all they are stronger than princes. They are protective over their things and also damn good looking."

Like I said, interesting perspective on things. I giggled, "Good looking. What the hell do you mean by good looking?"

"Do you think that I'm good looking?" I blushed, but still nodded. Wait, that doesn't have anything to do with a dragon! "My mum kept calling me a dragon because I always destroyed everything. She said that she was also calling my dad like that." That's the first time that he told me something about his past. "Why don't you tell me a bit about your past?"

"When the right time comes." He said while smirking. Whatever. It's not like I'm dying to know about his past. He doesn't have to tell me if he doesn't want to. He can do what he wants, I don't care... Argh, who am I kidding? "Pleaseeeee. Tell me!" I begged him. He laughed at me, "Now is not the right time. Be patient, Heartfilia." I crossed my armes and pouted, "Meanie..." Natsu ruffled my hair before standing up.

"Where are you going", I asked him. "Bed. Wanna come with me? You can sleep over." I know that he keeps on coming to my room to sleep in my bed, but that doesn't mean that I have to do so too. "No, thank you. I should be going now." I stood up and walked by the door. As I was about to open it I felt Natsu's arms around me. Shocked, I stopped moving. "Then give me a good night kiss", he whispered in my ear. I started blushing, "Why should I?" "Because you started working as my slave at 8 a.m., which means that 24 hours still aren't over yet."

The devil himself. "Alright, I'll give you a peck. On the cheek." He nodded and turned his cheek towards me. I should get it over with as soon as possible, so that I can get home and rest. As my lips were about to touch his cheek, he turned his head so that our lips met. It was for only a split second though. He then backed away and went to his room, shouting a "Good night Luce."
