Winter ended in a rush and spring was in the air. He sun shines brighter than before. The leaves slowly started returning on the trees and the flowers were blooming. Birds, which were in the south during winter, have returned. Their chirping in the morning was proof that they came back. All that makes me feel warm on the inside.
Today is Saturday and yesterday I told Wendy that we would go shopping, however our plans got destroyed when Aquarius called. She said that I have to take the afternoon shift. It's been a while since we both did something together. Wendy was busy with school and me with work.
"It doesn't matter if we can't go shopping. We can still go take a walk to the park." Wendy said with a smile. I noticed that she's happier than before. She smiles more often and is so carefree right now. She also doesn't say anything anymore when I smoke. Did something happen? "It's okay with me." She nodded and ran to her room to change. She came back with a baby blue spring dress which Erza gave her as a present. She made a turn to show me her dress. "It really suits you!" I told her while putting my blazer on. Even though the sun was shining, it was still a little chilly in the morning.
It's nice to take a walk to the park once in a while. We sat down on a bench. "You seem happier. Did something happen?" I asked her. She blushed and turned away. "Maybe…" She said in a small voice. "Could it be that you're in love?" I asked her bluntly. It was only a joke actually. However, her silence made it awkward. "Really?" I asked after a while. I sounded rather surprised. She then turned towards me, still with a red face, and yelled, "No, I'm not!" I started laughing while she was pouting. She looks so cute when she's mad.
The wind got stronger and I saw Wendy getting the chills. "It's still not time for spring dresses. You should go home and dress. Anyway, I have to leave for work now." I told her while looking at my phone. I noticed that Wendy was still shaking. That's why I took off my jacket and handed it to her. "Thanks. But won't you get cold?" I shake my head. "I'm fine." The weather changed drastically from sunny to cloudy and windy. It also got colder. I can tell that it will rain later. "See you later Lucy." Wendy said while heading home. I have to hurry and get to work or else Aquarius will rip off my head.
Like I said, the weather changed drastically after I arrived at work. As predicted it started raining. The café got crowded by people who were looking for shelter from the rain. Because of that I had to make some supplementary hours. Aquarius let me off around 8. It was already dark by that time and still raining. "Shit." I muttered while looking outside the window. I had no umbrella and there was none I could borrow. Should I run? My home is quite far though… Wait until it stops? But what if it will rain the whole night?
I decided to walk home. No running, no waiting. There is no point in running home. Either way I'm gonna get wet. There were still people on the streets, so I wasn't afraid. The stores were closing one by one, but I was still able to look on the display. So many new collections were released. Wendy will love it. I stopped in front of a store with wedding dresses and looked at the one on the right. It was a strapless, white dress which was rather simple, yet beautiful. I imagined myself in this dress, walking down the aisle. Wendy, Cana, Erza and Levy would be my bridesmaids. Little Asuka would be the Flower girl. Everyone else would smile while looking at me. And at the end of the aisle my future husband should wait for me with a wide grin on his face.
Wait! Wait a god damn second! Why did a picture of Natsu just cross my head while I was thinking about my future husband? I shook my head and kept starring at the window. I suddenly realized that there was a reflection of Natsu. I turned around and saw him standing in the rain by a motorcycle and grinning. "What are you doing?!" I asked him with a shocked expression. His clothes were drenched from the rain. He will definitely catch a cold if he doesn't get home in time. "Just watching you daydream." He said while handing me his helmet. "What are you waiting for? Get up." He told me while climbing on the motorcycle.
So after we got to my apartment, I noticed that the text message Natsu sent me. It said that I should wait in front of the café and that he would pick me up. Apparently Wendy asked him to get me since it started raining heavily. I felt bad for him now, as he was all drenched because he was looking for me. That's why I offered him to stay for a movie. "A kiss could have also done it." He said after hearing my suggestion. I blushed at that statement. Geez, I can't believe it! That's the only thing he thinks about.
"Just kidding, a movie sounds great. Which one did you pick?" I sat down next to him after I put the disk in the DVD player. "You said you wanted to watch 'How to train your Dragon 2', no?" He showed my bright smile. "You're the best!" He said while kissing my cheek. Then he turned towards the TV.
I gave it a little thought after that. I am actually okay with the fact that he keeps kissing and hugging me. At first it was weird and I felt strange, but now I kind of got used to it. Since that day in December, he would give me from time to time a kiss on the cheek or put his arms around me. I mean he is a hot person, so why should I be against a hot person kissing and hugging me? It's actually pretty cool.
