Present: From Good to Bad

Lucy cursed under her breath, as she tried to push the stroller through a mud puddle: "Oh fuck."
It was their first family outing since Abel had come home last week and she had been looking forward to it all week, but know she just prayed to god, that no one she knew would see them. The new stroller was sprinkled with mud drops, her boots looked like she had just left the stables; and because of the energy the muddy ground cost her, her hair was sticking to her damp forehead. With another great push she got the stroller free. She laughed in relief and turned around to check on Jax. He was still on the phone, but at least he was moving towards her. She gave him a nasty look and waited until he had reached her.
She knew it was club business so she didn't say anything, but it didn't keep her from rolling her eyes in annoyance. Jax was giving her an apologetic look and continued barking orders.
Just then Gemma pulled up in her Cadillac and Clay, Bobby and Tig were right behind her on their bikes.
"Hey baby," Gemma called as she stepped over the large puddle of mud Lucy had just pushed the stroller through.
Lucy hugged and kissed Gemma, who then right away leaned into the stroller and greeted Abel.
Jax had finally hung up and was no chatting with the boys.
"Let's go," Lucy called and they all started walking towards the attractions Fun Town had to offer.
Ever since Lucy had been a little kid every year around the same time a fun fair stayed in Charming and almost every year she had gone. First with her parents, then with Jax and her friends and this year with her own little family. She smiled at Gemma who was pushing the stroller and Lucy pulled Jax' arm over her shoulder.
They made their way over to the Music Express and Jax, Tig and Bobby decided to try it out. While Gemma and Clay headed over to the photo booth, Lucy got Abel out of the stroller and sat down on a bench with him. She saw Gemma and Clay talk to Elliot Oswald and his wife Karen. She thought about going over there and introduce little Abel, but she decided against it because just then Abel started fussing in her arms. She was so caught up with soothing him she didn't notice anybody approach her and when a girl's voice addressed her, she jumped.
"Can I hold him?"
Lucy looked up and into the smiling face of Tristen, the Oswald's 13 year old daughter.
"Sure," Lucy replied: "as long as you don't mind rocking a fussy baby."
Tristen sat down next to her and grinned: "I love babies. When I'm older I want to have lots of children."
Lucy handed her the baby and laughed: "Well, one can already be a handful."
Tristen took little Abel and the new face smiling down at him made him still very quickly. He was smiling at Tristen who was making silly faces to him.
Her eyes fell upon Karen. She wasn't looking pleased, but Lucy didn't care. Tristen was precious and not a prejudice bitch, unlike her mother who didn't think much of Lucy and her family.
It didn't take Karen and Elliot long to part from Clay and Gemma and they were headed towards Lucy and Tristen just a few seconds later.
"Hi Karen," Lucy smiled and ignored the sour look Karen gave her.
Tristen smiled at her mother: "Isn't he just so cute."
Karen forced a smile and waited for her daughter to hand Abel back to Lucy.
"Can I go on the Music Express again?"
Elliot laughed, but Karen shook her head: "You've been on it three times already!"
Tristen pulled a face, just as Jax joined them. He must have overheard their conversation because he pulled a chip out of his pockets and handed it over to Tristen.
"They kicked me off, because I was screaming to loud."
Tristen's face brightened: "Thanks."
Her mother didn't look pleased, but at least she wouldn't have to stand with Lucy and her family any longer. Heaven forbid her country club friends saw her talking to the outlaws.
Jax sat down next to Lucy as the Oswald family made their way to the ride. Bobby and Chips where standing over at the photo booth with Clay and from what Lucy could see, it looked like they were discussing Club business.
Lucy sighed and as Jax followed her gaze he understood. He put his arm around her and pulled her closer.
His breath was close to her ear when he spoke up: "No matter what's going on. I'll be home tonight."
His tongue played with her earlobe for a second. Lucy's body tensed and a soft moan escaped her lips. She didn't want him to stop as he pulled away from her and got up. Lucy followed and pulled him close once again.
"If you make it to dinner, I'll promise to make it worth your while," she whispered and locked her lips with his. While kissing him she let her hand every so lightly brush the delicate area between his legs. She smiled softly and sat back down. Jax' eyes had grown darker and she knew he'd be doing everything in his power to be home before sun down.

Jax didn't come home for dinner and when he still hadn't shown at 10 p.m. Jax didn't want her to be alone until they had found the bastard who had tried to kill her, so Half-Sack had been sitting on their couch all evening, eating and watching TV. Lucy was pissed at Jax for being late and she knew it wasn't fair, but she had bitched at Kip ever since Jax had missed dinner. She had tried calling him several times, but his cell had been turned off all evening. Next to being extremely angry, she was also extremely worried.
"You really have no clue where he is?" Lucy asked before going to bed.
The prospect shrugged: "No idea. Sorry."
Lucy cursed under her breath and got into bed, then she dialed Gemma's number.
"Hey baby," Gemma greeted her.
"Hi. Sorry for calling so late. Do you know where Jax is?"
"Haven't you heard? The Oswald's daughter was found raped and beaten about two hours ago at fun town."
Lucy covered her mouth with her free hand: "Oh my god. That poor girl. Do they know who did it?"
"No. The boys are out looking for that son of a bitch!" Gemma said, her voice full of hatred.
"Good. I hope they catch him and cut it fucking balls off," Lucy said, still shocked about the news.
"I don't think they'll be out all night. Jax is probably coming home soon."
"Ok. Thanks," Lucy answered. They exchanged their good-byes and Lucy hung up the phone. She tried to concentrate on reading, but her thoughts were with Tristen. What kind of a sick bastard attacks little girls?
She hoped that Jax would be home soon, she didn't want to be alone anymore and Half-Sack didn't really count. Twenty minutes later she heard Jax arrive and Half-Sack leaving.
Jax entered the bedroom with only his Jeans on. She sighed, he had probably tossed the T-Shirt somewhere on his way down the hallway and she would find it all crumbled up in the morning.
"I'm so sorry baby," Jax said and smiled his most attractive smile. He knew she could never be mad at him if he looked at her like that. Lucy got up on her knees and crawled to the edge of the bed. She touched Jax' perfect chest. He leaned forward and kissed her tenderly.
"I'm tired. Really tired," he mumbled and she knew that whatever had happened tonight had been hard real hard on him.
"Did you catch that son of a bitch?" Lucy asked, as she watched Jax strip completely naked and get in bed next to her. He pulled her close and their bodies fit perfectly into each other.
"Yeah. He's not going to hurt another girl, ever again," Jax said with a husky voice.
"Good," Lucy stated and listened to Jax' steady breathing. After a few moments they were both asleep.

Lucy woke before dawn. She had had a horrible dream about her accident. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep anymore, so she climbed out of her bed and headed for the kitchen. She had just poured herself a cup of coffee, when someone knocked on the front door.
Lucy froze, who would come by this early? She pulled her Glock out of the purse that was standing on the kitchen table and released it. She slowly opened the door, her gun aimed at whoever was standing in front of it.
"Shit," she cursed when she realized it was Wayne Unser who was standing in the dim light of the outside lamp.
"I almost shot you," she exclaimed, lowering her gun, and placing it on the kitchen counter: "Come on in."
"I'm sorry sweetheart," he entered: "thanks."
"Jax is still asleep," she said and offered him a cup of coffee, he accepted with a thankful smile.
"I need to talk to both of you. It's extremely urgent! Can you wake him?"
Just then Lucy could see the worried look on his face.
"Sure," Lucy went into the bedroom and shook Jax lightly: "Baby, wake up!"
He murmured something under his breath and slowly opened his eyes: "What do you want?"
"Unser's in the kitchen. He needs to talk to us. It's urgent he said."
It took Jax only seconds to react. He was up and dressed in Jeans and a white shirt in no time.
They walked back to Unser hand in hand and Lucy poured Jax a coffee as soon he had sat down opposite the police chief.
"What happened?" Jax asked and Lucy wondered if it had anything to do with the business SAMCRO had taken care of yesterday.
Unser looked at Lucy intensely: "I think it's better if you sit down for this."
"Wayne, you're scaring me. What's the matter?" She asked and sat down next to her husband.
Unser looked at both of them, paused for a second, than finally spoke up:
"The teacher that saw the black SUV that was responsible for your crash. She was found stabbed to death just outside Charming borders."
