Chapter 8: First Impressions
"I think you should go have a nice chat with him."
"I think you should shut the fuck up and leave me alone before you find yourself swallowing a whole bottle of bleach."
Ichiru rolled his eyes at the empty threat, though he still had to admit the tone in which it was said was fairly intimidating. "Wow, you're so nice to your little brother. After everything I've done for—"
Zero turned sharply to glare at his twin, violet eyes narrowed into tiny slits as he snarled, "Don't you dare finish that fucking sentence." When he was satisfied with the way Ichiru pressed his lips together in a tight line and put his hands up in defense, the older Kiryuu brother turned back to cleaning the bathtub.
Two weeks had passed since Zero and Kaname met again, and the former was still fuming with anger at seeing the brunet's face. His rage towards Yuuki had slightly diminished, but he still couldn't help but feel somewhat betrayed by her actions. She knew very well that Zero and Kaname had never been on good terms, and hiding something like that to the silveret really wasn't putting their long-term friendship on good terms.
Zero was thoroughly embarrassed that an asshole like Kaname was aware of his little "problem". He really didn't need more reasons to despise the brunet—his plate was already pretty fucking full.
"So...about this chat I was talking about." Ichiru's voice brought Zero back out from his thoughts, who sighed in frustration and set his annoyed gaze on his brother.
"Ichiru, what did I say."
"You should really ask him out for coffee, or something."
A look of pure outrage crossed the older sibling's face as the words left the younger's mouth. "Ask him out for a coff—Ichiru!" Zero abruptly stood up, making his twin step back in slight surprise and what looked like a hint of panic. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
"Hey, I'm just trying to—"
"Ruin my life, yeah! You know very well how I feel about this whole ordeal! It was wrong of you and Yuuki to do this to me, especially when it's about a delicate matter, Ichiru." Said man actually looked ashamed at the comment, lavender eyes casting downwards as he bit his lower lip. If Zero looked hard enough, he could even see a very light blush on the otherwise pale cheeks. Good. "Why are you so intent in giving me even more reasons to want to murder that bastard? Wasn't what happened last time enough? Do you need a repeat?" The silveret's voice rose with each word uttered, hands moving frantically to prove his point. Just thinking about the Kuran Bastard and coffee in the same sentence made Zero want to punch something.
"Onii-san, listen—"
"No." The older twin swiftly walked past his brother and out of the door, uncaring of the shocked expression on latter's face as disappeared from sight.
Not a second after his exit, however, Zero could hear loud footsteps quickly approaching him in the living room. "Zero!" Said man was in the process of washing his hands in the kitchen's sink. "You can't just do this!"
Zero dried his hands with a nearby towel before turning to face his twin, a silver eyebrow raised in mockery. "Oh? Says who?"
Ichiru frowned in frustration at his brother's attitude, arms crossing over his chest. "I do," he said, and paused briefly before adding, "Mom and dad would, too."
The older silveret's smug expression soon turned into one of shock, followed by slight anger. "Don't you fucking bring mom and dad into this, Ichiru. They have absolutely nothing to do with this."
"The way they raised us has though! They taught us to apologize and try to fix our mistakes, something that you refuse to do!"
"That's because I have no mistakes to fix!"
"Oh, because you think digging your nails into another person's throat and punching the living shit out of them isn't something you should apologize for?"
"Not when it's that Bastard!" Zero defended himself, throwing his arms in the air at the frustration building inside of him. He hated arguing with Ichiru, mostly because it always drove him nuts and just managed to make the situation at hand even worse.
Ichiru huffed in annoyance, frown deepening considerably. "He didn't do anything, and you jumped him!"
"He exists—"
A loud gasp escaped from Ichiru's parted lips at the statement, his whole face scrunching up into an expression of pure horror. "How could you even say that!"
"Well, it's—"
"What gives you the right to say that about someone else, Zero!"
The silveret rolled his eyes at the outrage, leaning against the counter behind him. "Fuck, Ichiru, it's not like he's gonna die if I say that, Jesus."
"It's not about that, Zero!" Ichiru exclaimed, stomping to stand in front of his twin. "It's about you being so rude! Why do you even hate him so much, anyway?"
And Zero completely ignored the question, refusing to even think about "That Day" and the memories that threatened to suddenly overwhelm him. "It's not fucking important why. I just fucking do."
"Oh, yes, because that's a very good reason to hate someone!" Ichiru sighed and shook his head at the absurdity of the situation. "Okay, you know what?"
"What."
"I don't give a shit why you have such feelings for Kaname—"
"Ew, don't fucking say 'feelings', that makes it sound like a good thing," Zero interrupted, curling his lip in distaste.
"Oh, my fucking God, okay..." Rubbing a hand over his face to try and calm his nerves down, Ichiru took a few deep, calming breaths before speaking up again. "Listen—"
"Don't sass me."
"Oh, my God! Just listen to me!" the younger of the two yelled, efficiently making the other shut his mouth (albeit reluctantly). "I'm tired of your bullshit, Zero. You've been moaning and bitching about this whole thing for almost three weeks now, and I am tired of it. So tomorrow you will call Kaname and you will meet up with him so you can apologize properly."
"What?! No! I'm not—"
"Zero!"
"...why the hell do I have to meet him to do that?"
"Because apologizing to someone in person is better than a phone call, that's why."
"Who the fuck cares about being 'better'? I care about not having to see that fucker's face again!"
Ichiru sighed once more, shifting his weight to one leg and jutting his hip out in his trademark "Do you really wanna keep doing this?" pose. The raised eyebrow was a bonus. "Do not make me blackmail you, brother."
Zero snorted at his twin's statement. "Blackmail? You? Please. You don't have shit on me."
"Or so you keep thinking. I do happen to have some very interesting pictures of some very interesting...events, however, that I'm sure Yuuki would love to take a look at." He shrugged one shoulder. "Maybe even Kaname, who knows?"
Lavender eyes narrowed as Zero suddenly grew rigid, staring at his brother with a mix of curiosity and anger. He never really liked the word "pictures", especially when it had anything to do with him—he hated pictures of himself, even more so when they apparently depicted him in "very interesting events". "What the fuck are you talking about, Ichiru?" he questioned in a low voice, trying to wreck his own brain for an answer. "What pictures?"
A small smirk tugged at one corner of Ichiru's lips. "Oh, you know...just pictures," he answered, waving a hand dismissively. "High School graduation, Holidays...birthday parties."
Zero frowned.
Birthday parties? What was so scary about birthday pa—oh.
Oh.
"Ichiru, I swear to fucking God, if you ever show those pictures to anyone, you will drown in bleach!"
A short pause followed that statement, in which Ichiru tilted his head to the side and gave his brother a somewhat concerned expression. "Zero, really...what is it with you and bleach?"
"Ichiru."
"Your drunk-ass activities will remain a secret if you promise to do as I asked."
Oh, so he was playing that card. Great. "Ugh. Fuck, I hate you."
The younger twin beamed brightly at his older twin as he hopped over towards him. "I love you, too, onii-san!" He then proceeded to give Zero a big, wet smooch on the cheek, loving the look of absolute disgust on said man's face. "Now go make that phone call, or else."
Zero frowned and mumbled darkly under his breath as he watched his beloved twin skip away.
"Are there anymore patients, Shinohara-san?" Kaname's velvety voice asked his secretary when another one of his patients left his office.
The woman quickly looked over the little notebook in her hands, scanning the Doctor's schedule with utmost care. Once she was sure of her answer, she looked back up at her boss and gave a polite smile. "No, sir, you're all cleared out for the rest of the day."
A long sigh left Kaname's parted lips as he leaned back into his comfy chair, the leather creaking under his weight. "Thank God," he murmured. "Thank you, Shinohara-san. You may go home, then."
The secretary bowed in gratitude before turning to leave, saying a quick "Have a nice day," before exiting completely and closing the door behind her.
Bringing his long arms over his neck, the brunet let out a low grunt as he stretched, feeling the bones in his back and shoulders crack and scream in relief. He got up from his seat and took off his white coat, draping it over the back of the chair before walking over to the large windows of his office and looking out at the evening sky. Shades of pink and orange blended together, hints of purple mixed in to create a beautiful scenery surrounded by tall skyscrapers. People were walking and running all over the streets, some in a hurry and others taking their sweet time, and Kaname basked in the glow of the setting sun as it disappeared behind the buildings.
He was enjoying his brief moment of piece when the loud shrill of his phone ringing made him (quite literally) jump out of his thoughts. He turned to glare at the stupid device sitting on his desk before he walked over to pick it up. One look at the ID told him it was an unknown number making the call, so he half wanted to just ignore it and go back to enjoying his moment of leisure. As the incessant ringing persisted, however, he sighed in irritation and brought the device to his ears. "Hello?" Maybe his tone came out harsher than he'd meant, because the person on the other side didn't respond. "Hello?" he repeated in a much softer, inviting voice. Still, the pause persisted, and for a second Kaname thought he was being prank-called.
And just as he was about to tell the other person off and hang up on them, a low voice murmured, "...yo."
The brunet's eyes widened in shock as Zero's (very reluctant) greeting reached his ears, heart skipping a couple beats before beating even faster. "Z-Zero?" he stuttered, still surprised.
"Tch, don't fucking call my name so casually, you Bastard," was the cold response, and Kaname actually smiled at it.
"Right, my apologies, Kiryuu-san." There was a light veil of mockery in his words, but it wasn't meant to be offensive. He sat on top of his desk and smiled to himself when he heard another scoff coming from the silveret. "So, may I ask how you got my number?"
"Fucking Ichiru gave it to me."
"Oh? And how does he have it?"
"Yuuki, of course, are you that fucking retarded that you couldn't figure it out by yourself?"
Ouch. "How very kind of you, Kiryuu."
Zero growled in frustration on the other side, and the sound had goosebumps cover Kaname's skin. "Listen, I didn't call to fuck around, okay?"
Fucking around would be so much more productive in person, I agree. "Then why did you call?" the brunet inquired.
At that, the silveret sighed in what sounded almost like defeat. "I...ugh, are you busy right now?"
A long silence followed the question, and Kaname had to blink several times before he could fully grasp the meaning of the young Kiryuu's words. "Uh...no?"
"Is that a fucking question or a statement?"
The brunet cleared his throat and responded with a definite, "No, I'm not busy. I just finished working, actually, and was about to head home."
"Great". He didn't sound excited at all. "Meet me at the café across from your clinic in ten."
Wait, what. "Kiryuu, wha—"
The beeping sound of the ended call interrupted him mid-sentence, leaving Kaname very confused and mentally going over the whole conversation.
Zero wanted to see him. In ten minutes, in the café across the street from where he worked.
Zero wanted to meet up with Kaname.
The brunet quickly grabbed his coat from where he was hanging over the coat hanger behind the door and fled his office in a matter of five seconds. With a quick and polite salutation at the receptionist on his way to the door, Kaname was out of the building and already making his way across the street in record time. When he got inside the small café, he noticed with delight that the place was almost empty, which meant he would get more privacy with Zero for whatever the silveret wanted to talk about. He greeted the barista behind the counter and went to sit by a table in the far side of the store, right by the windows, and he waited.
Zero reached the designated place only a few minutes after the brunet had walked in, and he didn't look happy. He looked around the café and frowned in distaste when his eyes fell upon Kaname's figure. The man was gracefully sitting at one of the round tables with one leg crossed over the other, his posture impeccable as he looked out of the windows. The orange glow of the sky against his back framed his lean body like a halo, and Zero mentally beat himself up for thinking it made him look good.
Stuffing his hands in the pocket of his dark jeans, Zero slowly made his way towards the brunet, boots softly clicking against the hardwood floor. When he got close enough to the table, Kaname turned his head towards the silveret and flashed him a small smile, making Zero's frown alleviate some at the polite gesture.
"Kiryuu," Kaname greeted, swiftly getting up from his seat—and holy Jesus, his legs were long—to extend a hand towards the younger male. "You came."
Zero decided to ignore the way the brunet sounded almost relieved, instead focusing on the hand presented in front of him. He stared at the arm hard and long, almost as if it had offended it in some way, and he tried to decide if he should take the chance at peace offered or not. Just as he saw Kaname hesitantly lower his arm, however, Zero gave a long sigh and grabbed the retreating hand in his own, giving it a firm shake before letting go completely.
The silveret looked up at the taller male and nodded once, lips pressing into a hard line before he acknowledged his greeting with one of his own. "Kuran. You're...here." He tried his best not to make the other hear the disappointment in his voice, but if the way Kaname's expression fell was of any indication, he had failed.
"Well, it's not everyday that you call," the brunet joked, trying to break the ice between them.
"Right."
And awkward silence soon settled between the two men, and Zero shifted from foot to foot as he looked around the cozy store.
When the atmosphere got almost unbearable, Kaname silently cleared his throat and addressed the silveret. "So, uh...shall we sit down" He motioned to the table they stood by with an awkward jerk of his hand.
"Yeah, sure," Zero replied, moving to take his jacket off and draping it over the back of his chair before sitting down. He raised the sleeves of his black pullover up to his elbows and leaned forward so he could rest his forearms on the table.
Wine eyes followed every movement with great rapture, and Kaname had to stop himself from complimenting the silveret's choice of outfit.
Thankfully, a waitress walked over to their table just as they settled down, her blonde hair neatly tucked into a ponytail and a pretty smile tugging at her lips. "Hello, there! My name's Tsubasa, and I'll be your waitress for the evening. What can I get you two gentlemen?" she asked in a cheery voice, pulling out a small notepad and a pen from the pocket of her apron.
Zero was the first one to speak, turning to look at her as he did so. "I'll have a caramel cappuccino, please, and whatever desert is today's Special." His words were distant and direct, formal yet not bearing the cheery attitude Tsubasa had come to them with. Kaname almost felt bad for the young girl at the somewhat cold treatment, but he didn't say anything.
The blonde smiled politely and nodded, writing down the order. "Today's Special is a slice of our new Red Velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and a side of strawberries. Is that okay?"
A hint of a smile graced the silveret's lips, but it quickly disappeared. "Yeah, that's perfect. Thanks."
"No problem!" the girl replied, then turned to give her full attention to Kaname. "And for you, sir?"
"I'll have a latte macchiato and a blueberry muffin, please."
"Of course," Tsubasa replied, beaming brightly. "I will be back shortly with your orders, sirs."
"Thanks," Kaname said just before she could leave, smiling slightly. When he turned to look back at his companion, he was surprised to see the other staring at him with an expression that was a mix of curiosity and frustration. "Is there something wrong?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.
Zero frowned slightly and shook his head. "No, everything's fine."
"If you say so..."
Zero looked around the small restaurant once before training his lavender eyes back to the brunet. "Have you been here before?"
"Only a few times, usually when I'm on break. I haven't been here enough times to be considered a loyal customer, though."
"Hmm, I see..."
"What about you? Been here before?"
"Same as you, only a handful of times," was the curt reply, which didn't surprise Kaname in the least.
He nodded anyway, linking his fingers together on top of the table and shifting so he could lean forward a little more. He ignored the way Zero moved slightly back, putting some distance between them. "They make good coffee here," the brunet continued the conversation, trying to sound as friendly as possible.
"Yeah, though I come here more for the deserts."
So he had a sweet tooth. Noted.
Just then, Tsubasa walked back over to them, balancing a tray in her left hand. "Here you guys go! A caramel cappuccino and Red velvet for you—" she placed the items in front of Zero, who thanked her quietly, before she grabbed the other beverage from her tray "—and a latte macchiato and blueberry muffin for you!"
"Thank you," Kaname thanked her once more, immediately bringing the warm coffee to his mouth and taking a small sip. The smell and flavor of the hot drink burst relaxed him, shoulders slumping and back slightly slouching as he leaned on his elbows.
"You're very welcome! If you two need anything else, just call me over and I'll be right here." She smiled again and turned to walk away. "Enjoy yourselves!"
Another long pause settled between the two when the waitress left, but this one wasn't as uncomfortable as their previous ones. They were both enjoying their orders and relaxing in their seats, basking in the cozy atmosphere of the café.
"So..." Kaname started to speak once he felt the tension between them leave. "What exactly did you call me over for?" He chose his words carefully, not trying wanting the silveret to turn defensive again.
Zero took another small bite out of his cake before replying, his voice calm and composed. "Ichiru says...I owe you an apology." There was a hint of disdain in the last word, but not enough to ruin the mood.
Kaname raised an elegant eyebrow at that. "Oh?"
The young Kiryuu grimaced slightly. "Yeah."
"Well..." The brunet took a long sip of his drink, savoring the taste before continuing. "Do you think you owe me an apology?"
The question seemed to take the younger male off guard, making him furrow his brows in thought—Kaname did not think that was cute.
Memories of their last encounter invaded Zero's mind and he though the question over, tracing the inside of his cheek in distraction. Did he owe Kaname an apology? True, just the mentioning his name was enough to make Zero go mad, and he did harbor some pretty harsh feelings towards him. The last day they saw each other, four years ago, had left a pretty severe impression on Zero, one he wasn't too happy with, and one that still left him with unanswered questions. He hated Kaname for having made his High School years a living hell, hated him even more now that he knew of his impotency...
...but maybe he had overreacted a little two weeks ago. Maybe Zero shouldn't have lunged for the other's throat and tried to (literally) punch a hole through his face.
Just maybe.
Zero studied Kaname for a few more seconds before finally sighing in defeat, shaking his head. "Yeah," he said, "I probably do owe you an apology." Kaname didn't say anything; he only nodded and waited for the silveret to make the first move. "I'm...ugh, I hate saying it..."
Kaname shrugged one shoulder. "You don't have to, if you don't want to. I got the message, so—"
"Shut up."
"Right."
The younger male's lips twitched slightly upwards at the quick, defeated response, an almost imperceptible smile that had Kaname yearning for more.
"I...I apologize for trying to murder you in cold bold, Kuran."
Kaname blinked at the blunt statement. "Wow...way to go not making it sound like you're merely talking about the weather."
"Oh, shut up. As I said, apologies aren't my forte. So be happy with that, you Bastard."
The brunet chuckled low in his throat at the insult, pushing back the dark fantasies of his teenage years it brought back. "So classy, Kiryuu."
Zero placed a hand over his mouth as he looked away, trying to hide the small smile that had graced his lips. "Shut up."
They both finished their orders a few minutes later, and Zero took it upon himself to grab Kaname's empty plate and stacking it on top of his own, creating a neat pile and probably making the waitress's life a little easier. They made small talk throughout the whole ordeal, occasionally stopping to enjoy the view of the city outside. The sky had already darkened considerably, a few stars twinkling among the bright lights of the neon signs lighting up in the streets. Kaname had called over Tsubasa to get their bill, and when she gave them the required item, both men took out their wallets to pay for the night.
Which led to an unavoidable argument.
"I invited you over, so it would make sense that I would be the one to pay," argued Zero as he tried to put his money on the table, but Kaname wouldn't let him.
The brunet pushed the other's hand away gently, insistently. "True, but I don't like letting others pay for what I consumed, so I'm taking this."
"No, you're fucking not."
"Yes, I fucking am." Zero looked mildly surprised at hearing the brunet swear, and Kaname would have laughed at the shocked expression if he weren't afraid the other would misunderstand it as mockery.
"I don't feel comfortable letting you pay for me, when I invited you," the silveret repeated, raising an eyebrow.
Kaname paused in his resistance for a few brief moments, studying the younger male. "Tell you what," he said. "Why don't we make a deal?"
Zero narrowed his eyes curiously. "A deal? What kind?"
The brunet took a deep breath before he licked his lips, a tell-tale sign of nervousness. "I...want to continue being your doctor, Kiryuu-kun."
Zero ignored the "-kun" in favor of gaping at Kaname with what could only be described as utter shock. "E-Excuse me? What?"
"Please, don't take this the wrong way."
"It's kind of impossible not to. Why the fuck would you want that?"
"I'm...really not a bad guy, Kiryuu."
The silveret looked confused at the sudden statement. "What...?"
"You seem to have this idea that I'm the Devil incarnate, for some reason—" of course he knew very well what that reason was "—but I'm really not, and I know I can prove it to you."
"By being the doctor who sticks his fingers up my ass?" Zero replied with disdain, rolling his eyes. "Please do explain how that will make me change my mind?"
It was almost impossible not to imagine himself with his fingers buried inside the silveret's ass after such vile words were uttered, but Kaname somehow managed to keep those dirty thoughts in the back of his mind—and he was sure they would probably swing by later that night to pay him a visit, but he tried not to think about that, either. "I didn't mean that," Kaname immediately defended himself, fighting against a blush.
"Oh?"
"Well, I do mean that, but—"
"Uh-huh."
"I didn't mean it like that!" the brunet sputtered, his cheeks flushing a light shade of red while the man sitting across from him smirked. "Listen! Just let me finish before commenting, please."
Zero pressed his lips in a tight line before waving a hand in front of him, gesturing for the brunet to continue. "Go ahead, then. And do choose your words carefully."
Kaname sighed in both relief and frustration. "I want us to be friends, Kiryuu," he finally blurted out, and his words couldn't have sounded any truer. "I know that you hate me, and you have every right to...but I think we could actually be great friends if we could put all...this—" he motioned between them "—behind us."
Zero didn't speak as he assessed the situation, biting on his lower lip distractedly (and Kaname totally was not looking at the way those plump lips were slowly turning red, not at all). His lilac eyes were completely focused on the man sitting in front of him, studying his expression for any signs of lying, but he found none—every word Kaname had uttered were completely genuine. "Suppose...I go along with this crazy idea of yours, Kuran," the silveret finally said, immediately gaining Kaname's attention. "How would you go about this?"
"Well, I was thinking we could...start talking to each other?"
"Talking?"
"Yes. Like...sort of like we did today."
"You want to meet up?"
"N-No!"
A silver eyebrow was raised. "No?"
"Well, I mean, yes...but we don't have to if you don't feel comfortable with the idea. We could start by talking on the phone. Hell, even text messages are fine."
"Hmm..." Zero hummed thoughtfully, crossing one leg over the other beneath the table. "Where are you hoping to go with this? And what does my...condition have anything to do with the whole ting?"
"I was merely offering to continue your treatment because I already know about the situation, that's it. I know that men with the same condition as you—" and I, as well "—may feel, perhaps...ashamed of their own body. And I know that coming out to seek professional help takes a lot of courage and an be very humiliating." Zero's expression had darkened slightly, but he wasn't interrupting, so Kaname took that as a good sign. "So I figured that it would just be easier for you to go to someone that you at least know instead of seeking help somewhere else and having more people know about...it."
That, and a couple more personal reasons, but of course Kaname wasn't going to let the silveret know about it.
"...alright, I get your point," Zero mumbled, not looking pleased with the topic of their conversation (and who could blame him?). "What about my other question? Where, exactly, are you hoping to go with this?"
"Well, part of it is me hoping to get you to feel more comfortable around me, so our sessions won't be awkward." He lowered his voice for the next part, not wanting anyone else to hear them. "Part of the treatment does require a rectal and prostate exam, after all, to make sure that everything is working fine in the...downstairs department, and I doubt you'd let me get an inch closer to you if we weren't on more familiar terms with each other."
Zero blushed furiously at the mention of the exams he would have to go through, cursing the Heavens above for his condition. "Y-You got that one right, you fucking Bastard. Like Hell I would let you do that to me right now."
"Which is why I want to fix it. Starting with small talk, maybe hang out sometimes, do stuff friends do, you know? Something that's not a repeat of the last time we met." His last statement was said with a little humor, and Kaname was delighted in seeing Zero smile a bit at that.
"Okay."
"...okay?"
"Yeah. Okay."
"Really? You're actually agreeing to do this?" Kaname asked, trying not to sound too hopeful.
"Don't make me change my mind, Kuran."
"Right. Okay."
With that said, Zero rose from his seat and grabbed his jacket from the chair, putting it back on. Kaname stared at him as he dressed, confused and slightly startled by the sudden movements. The silveret grinned slightly at the other's expression, feeling in a slightly playful mood as he said, "In that case, I'll let you pay for today."
"O...kay..."
"But I'm paying next time." Zero didn't say anything else as he turned around and walked away, leaving Kaname still sitting at the table, mahogany eyes trained on the silveret's retreating back.
"But I'm paying next time."
"Holy fuck, that sounds like a date," Kaname murmured to himself, hiding his face behind his hands as he felt a smile tug at his lips.
Until next time, then.

Firs of all: I have a Facebook page, holy marshmallows! As well as a Tumblr and a YouTube account that I almost forgot I had. Oh! And for those of you who enjoy reading the bloopers at the bottom of fics I write with Shion, Shion and I have a shared Facebook page! You think our bloopers are funny? Just go look at the cover picture of our page (all link are in my bio, because I'm a loser and I'm totally advertising myself. HA. #SadLife)
I feel like I may have rushed this chapter a little, and the characters may seem OOC (it's kind of hard to keep them exactly in character when you place them in an AU, but I'll try my best), but at least hings seem to be going in a fairly good direction between Kaname and Zero...ha. Haha. Ha...
As a side note, I think a little bit of Levi (from Shingeki no Kyojin) slipped in as I was writing the phone call between Kaname and Zero. It's probably because I've been writing a lot of SnK fics lately, whoops~!
