Frozen: The Story of Samantha Parkington
Summary: Sami Parker already has one adopted "daughter" and she's a handful as both a daughter and a sidekick. So, one more out of place girl in her care wouldn't hurt, right? Right?
Author's Note: No, this is not affiliated with the damn Disney Movie. Stop asking. This is a story I thought of. It is also the introduction of Samantha Parkington into the Teen Heroes universe. The Teen Heroes Universe (AU) is a universe where Marvel, DC Comics, as well as other characters exist in the same universe. If there is any confusion about OC's, Teams, Characters, etc, see my profile or message me. I will be happy to answer any questions you have.
Sami Parker (daughter of Spider-Man and Bloom) and Jack Dublin (son of Harry Osborn who kept deceased mother's last name) are my main OC's. They're best friends as well as lovers. No there will not be a sex scene in this story.
Hit Girl (two fics before this one): Sami Parker took in Hit Girl after Mindy's godfather Marcus was murdered by the Joker in a gunfight in Gotham. Mindy saw Sami working with Batman, stalked the older girl, and forced Sami to adopt her, which eventually isn't even forced anymore when Sami willingly takes Mindy in.
Anya Corazon: Spider-Girl of 2099 (fic before this one): Story where the Spider-Girl of 2099 comes back in time to prevent a dark future ruled by Lex Luthor. Gets stuck in present time on purpose and is revealed to be the Parkers' Cousin. She is further trained by Sami and SHIELD when she finds out that May Day Parker is dead.
To further avoid confusion, Samantha Parkington = Samantha and Sami Parker = Sami.

Forest Hills, New York (Gohan's Lab)...
Previously: "It's th-the little girl from the one newspaper article. From the picture." Sami said quietly in realization.
The trio stared at the tube in awe. The little girl was floating in the tube of water, seemingly unconscious. Gohan was able to tear his gaze away from the child as he hurried over to the computer. Pressing various keys, an oxygen mask emerged from the top of the tube and was placed tightly against the little girl's mouth. Various little suction cup looking devices emerged from the ceiling as well, attaching themselves to the child. Soon, a heart monitor and diagnostics appeared on the large computer monitor.
The heart monitor couldn't pick up a heart beat, causing Gohan to curse under his breath. More keys were pressed. Electricity coursed through the wires connected to the suction cups on the girls skin, sending strong enough pulses to shock organs back to life. The heart monitor beeped quickly at first before slowing down to a normal rate. All organs appeared to be working normally. Gohan released a relieved breath and turned to look at the two other occupants.
He gave them a thumbs up, "All good." he said with a smile.
Sami released a relieved breath as well and looked down at Mindy, who ducked away from the gaze. She knew she was going to hear it when they got back home. At least she hoped Sami waited until then. She didn't exactly feel like hearing it now. Mindy apologized, to which Sami forgave her, asking the younger to just be more careful next time. Out of curiosity asked if she was going to get yelled at later. Sami shook her head, saying it was just an accident. The purple-clad girl looked at the older girl with surprise. Well, that was a new one.
"Now, Sami," Gohan said, turning to the brunette, "did you say something a few minutes ago?"
The brunette nodded, "It's the little girl from that one news article you showed us. The one crying in the picture." she said.
With a quizzical look, the scientist pulled up the holo-screens again and scrolled through the various images until Sami stopped him. She pointed out the one they had seen. He moved the screen so it was next to the tube as they compared the picture to the child. Sure enough, it was little girl from the news article. Sami scanned the article to see if they had named the girl in the picture, but had no such luck.
There was a spike in the oxygen intake as they suddenly looked at the little girl. Wide blue eyes stared at them in fear as her breathing quickened. The beeping on the heart monitor quickened as the girl's eyes scanned the room before staring back at them. The little brunette began pounding her fists against the glass. She released screams that had been muffled by the oxygen mask.
"Can she get out of there?" Mindy asked, unable to take her eyes off of the younger girl.
Gohan just shook his head, unsure of what to do now that the child was awake. The pounding of fist against glass quickened, becoming desperate. The scientist finally made up his mind, heading over to the keyboard.
"What are you doing?" Sami asked.
"I need you to grab that blanket over there and then stand by the tube. Be ready." Gohan demanded, pressing a series of keys before slamming a red button.
The older brunette nodded, grabbing the blanket off of the one examination table. After unfolding the large material on her way over to the giant glass tube, she held it in her arms as though she was ready to catch something. Mindy pulled her bo-staff out in case things got ugly. There was a hiss as the water in the tube was drained out via the floor. The wires retracted back into the ceiling, the oxygen mask following suit. The small brunette collapsed as the glass lifted into the ceiling. She lost her footing and almost fell to the floor had Sami not been there.
The older brunette caught the younger, wrapping her tightly in the blanket. The small girl was gasping in fear as she took in her surroundings before looking up at Sami with her wide eyes. Mindy approached slowly, though she immediately regretted that decision. The sight of the bo-staff scared the small brunette, causing her to thrash around in Sami's arms.
Sami kept a strong grip, not letting the child go, "Hey, hey, hey. You're okay. It's okay." she whispered, trying to calm the young girl down.
"Please don't hurt me! Please!" the little girl cried out desperately.
"It's okay, we're not going to hurt you. You need to calm down though." Sami instructed.
The girl's struggling lessened as she looked around once more, "Where am I?" she asked.
Gohan approached them, hands up in a surrendering motion. He did this to show the girl that he didn't have any weapons and had no intent on hurting the girl. She still looked up at him fearfully, tucking her head closer to Sami's chest. The action startled Sami, who was in the process of tucking one of her arms under the girl's legs in order to maintain a better grip while also trying not to drop her. The scientist took his flashlight pen out of his breast pocket and turned it on. He moved the light in front of the girl's face in a back and forth motion. Her eyes followed the light cautiously, still breathing heavy.
After putting the pen back, Gohan gently grasped one of the girl's small wrists, pressing his fingers against the underside. With a nod, he released the limb. The small brunette jerked it back and held it protectively to her chest.
Gohan gave her a small smile, "Hello, there. What's your name?" he asked.
The girl stared at him before looking up at Sami, as if asking for approval. Sami didn't know what to do so she just nodded. The girl cleared her throat as she turned her attention back to Gohan,
"My name is Samantha Parkington. Wh-Who are you?" she asked in a small voice.
The scientist chuckled, "I'm Gohan. That's my niece, Mindy MacCready," he said, pointing to Mindy. The blonde mumbled something along the lines of "So much for secret identities". He then motioned his arm to Sami, "and this is my little sister, Sami Parker." the older brunette just gave the smaller one a smile.
The little girl nodded. She then looked around once more, politely asking the older girl to put her down. Sami did, but kept a hand on Samantha's shoulder just in case. Samantha didn't protest, mainly because she was shaky on her feet and the older girl's grip kept her from tumbling to the floor. She approached Mindy, looking at her curiously. Mindy was wondering what the other girl was staring at before she remembered that she was still in Hit Girl uniform. Samantha told the blonde that she liked her dress, receiving a confused face. Mindy thanked her anyway, mumbling under her breath "It's not a dress". Samantha turned to look up at the older brunette. Sami stood there, just looking back down at the younger.
Before she could ask what was wrong, Samantha hugged her middle, "You look like my Mother, but younger."
The Teen Hero's eyes widened in shock. Oh boy, not another one. She thanked the younger, awkwardly patting her on the head. Samantha giggled and let the elder go, studying Sami's uniform. She asked why they were dressed like that. Mindy explained that they were superheroes. That answer received a confused look as Samantha tilted her head. She asked what a hero superhero was. Gohan cut in, explaining what a superhero was. Though the brunette listened, she honestly had no idea what the man was talking about.
She then wandered around the lab, asking what everything was. Gohan felt a bit of pride as he explained everything, unaware that the small brunette had no idea was he was saying. Sami was surprised the child wasn't hyperventilating or overwhelmed by all the technology. The small girl was surprisingly calm, listening to Gohan prattle on.
Mindy chuckled, "How long do you think it'll take him to figure out that she has no idea what he's talking about?"
"Honestly, it'll take him a while to figure it out. He may be a genius, but when he's starts bragging about his tech, he forgets that not everyone knows what he's talking about." Sami explained, watching with amusement.
Her eyes wandered over to the computer monitor. She sighed when she saw the time. Her and Mindy had to start heading out, it was getting late. Sami cleared her throat loudly, catching both Gohan and Samantha's attention. Sami explained that she and Mindy had to start heading out. Gohan nodded in understanding, but Samantha frowned,
"Do you have to go?" she asked sadly.
Sami nodded, "Yeah. Mindy and I have to go home to get some sleep."
Samantha looked down at the tiled floor, but then looked up at the taller girl, "Can I come with you?" she asked hopefully.
Mindy didn't look too pleased with that idea, "Um...I don't think you'll want to come with." she said.
"Why not?" Samantha asked.
The older brunette sighed, getting down on one knee in front of the younger brunette, "Samantha, things are different out there. You might be overwhelmed and accidentally hurt yourself. So much has changed since you were put on ice. I don't know if you know this, but you're not exactly in your own time anymore." Sami said calmly.
Surprisingly, Samantha understood, "I know. The scary man told me that when I woke up, I was going to be in the future. They kept us in classrooms before they froze all of us. They said that things were going to be different and that we should not be scared. I did not want to be frozen, but I did not have a choice. I knew that when I woke up, everything would be different." she explained.
She received shocked looks. They taught the kids before freezing them? The kids were aware that they were going to wake up in a different time? Why would the scientists take the time to actually teach the kids before freezing them? Sami looked to both Mindy and Gohan, who looked just as shocked as she did. Sami shuddered at the thought of Mindy, Ben, or even Dick being frozen alive.
"They told you all of that? Why?" Mindy asked.
Samantha just shrugged, "That was the last thing I remembered before waking up in that glass thing over there." she explained, pointing to the glass tube.
The older brunette felt her heart breaking in her chest. To be a child, knowing that once you were free of your ice prison, that you would be in a strange land, completely alone and lost. Sami wondered if the girl was aware that her relatives, if she had any, were not alive anymore. The hero shook her head, getting the horrible thoughts out of her brain, unable to think about them any longer. She took a deep breath and smiled at the younger, explaining that she would love to take her home, but she didn't have enough room at her house right now, nor did she anything that the girl could wear (she highly doubt Gohan did either, maybe Vidal had some old clothes laying around).
Samantha nodded sadly, hugging the older girl tightly around the neck. Though a little startled, Sami hugged her back before letting her go. Samantha waved at Mindy and then asked if both of them would visit her some time. Sami promised that they would stop over first thing tomorrow morning, if they were able to. Samantha smiled at that, wishing them farewell. When she said goodbye to them, she had accidentally called Sami "Mommy". Sami played it off like she hadn't heard it and said goodbye. Gohan bid them farewell as well, telling Sami that he would update her later if anything had changed.
Once up on street level and back in the car, Mindy turned to Sami, "Did she just call you Mommy?" she asked.
