Chapter 3

9 years later

A 14 year old boy in a black assassins garb with his hood up ducked as a spear wized over his head. The spear was being held by a man in Greek battle armor, they were fighting along the banks of the river Styx in the underworld. The man thrust his spear towards the boy with massive strength, the boy dodged but just barely. He then stepped into the mans guard and hit him over the head with his sword dazing the man, the boy then disarmed the mans spear and put his sword under his neck.

"yield?" the boy asked, it was a weird site, a 14 year old pale, but not to pale, boy in an assassins garb. He was 5 foot 9, and had a sword that had a black glow around the blade, the blade was made of stygian iron but had orange running through it like veins. There was an orange gem in the center of the blade that all the veins lead to, the hilt of the sword was simple though, like any sword hilt except it had the same orange gem in it. The gem was so beautiful it seemed to radiate hope, the gem of the hearth, a gem only Hestia can grant, made from the fires of the hearth. Now that I think about it, the boy looked like he has been using a sword for years training, the site wasn't weird, it looked like the boy belonged in battle.

"I yield" the man, who was none other than Achilles, replied

"finally! Took me a good year to be able to beat you!"

"a year of hard work and training"

" more like a year of getting thrown around like a rag doll" the boy replied. "I only won because you put too much power on that last thrust"

" and that is why your training is complete, I made a mistake and you were able to capitalize on it, now Hades wants to see you, go tell him that your training is complete"

And that boy was none other than Percy Jackson, son of Hades and Persephone, champion of Hestia.
