Morning Broke with distant thunder and heavy clouds hanging low in the sky. They pressed so close, Liana felt as though they were crushing her. There was a time when a looming storm was welcome, a distraction from studies and lectures. Those days were simple and easy. Long before the complicated emotions that had been awoken with a fateful meeting in the woods weeks, possibly months earlier. Time was of a loss now. Some events seemed as thought hey happened just yesterday, the first sight of Raj as he fought for his life against a small army. Other events seemed as though they had been going on forever, making love long after the sun had set, laying bodies entwined, drifting to sleep next to him.
Both Torq and Raj were already up, Liana could hear their voices, hear the familiar noises of packing up a camp, even one as small as theirs. They were speaking in hushed tones, probably about the impending weather. Would this delay them much in the journey and where could they escape it. An inn would be out of the question, Horde or Alliance. Liana only knew that the area they traveled through to be a grassy plains with small clumps of dry hills, spotted areas of lush green growth around natural springs. No real knowledge of the lands, just what she had learned in books.
Little drops of rain began to fall, it was time to face this morning, delays or no Liana was still determined to be with Raj. Somehow, someway they would make a life together, if he could ever let go. It may not happen soon but one day he would come back to her. Liana stood, stretched and lifted her face to the light rain. The cool little drops slid down her face like tears, fitting for the mood she seemed to be in, determined yet a little sad.
"I see your awake now." Torq called to Liana
"Good Morning Torq." she giggled" Well maybe not so good"
"Liana we will ride for a while, till the rain becomes too much" Torq again the one to speak with her, Raj continued to look busy "If you need a moment alone, take it now in the trees behind you."
She did just that, quickly though so as not to hold them up longer than was necessary. It felt nice to remove the hood for a moment, to let her ears breath. The hood sometimes felt very heavy against them. Stripping down to her undergarments she bathed off quickly before dressing in fresh clothing and replacing the cloak. A small respite from the confines of her disguise were better than none at all.
Exiting the treeline Liana headed to Torq's mount, Raj rode between them scooping her up and settling her in his lap. The trio set off once again, headed for an uncertain path for an even more uncertain future. Thunder continued to rumble in the distance, little flashes of lighting would streak the sky around them. It was peaceful in some ways, to be riding ahead of a storm. Chaos was following them, yet they were one step ahead.
The wind blew a few strands of Lianas hair loose, they danced on the wind, brushing Rajit'Kals cheek. The sweet scent of flowers drifted back as the wind picked up more. Raj inhaled deeply of her scent and pulled her closer into his chest. She lay her head back against his shoulder, her head tucking just under his chin. This elven girl, this treasure he found amidst war. She belonged to him and only him.
They managed to stay ahead of the storm for a long while before the heavy clouds began to pour in earnest. Lightning flashed abive their heads and the thunder rolled around them. It was finally time to call it and find shelter. Thankfully Raj knew of a cave near by. It had at times been infested with all manner of creatures both good and bad but parts of the cave system were safe and fresh water flowed through.
