A/N: I know I said the chapter would be up earlier than this but to be honest I hated it. It's here now though so yeah.

Disclaimer: I still don't on Supernatural or Sherlock. *frowny face*

Chapter 17

An hour after the water fight had started they found the note. Deanna and Sam didn't understand what it meant but John and Sherlock understood far too well. Both of them knew that the message was a direct threat to John.

I told you I'd burn the heart out of you.

Sherlock and John shared a look. That one message threatening to destroy everything.

"Uh guys? What does it mean?" Deanna asked.

"It's a threat."

"Wow... no shit Sherlock!" Deanna said sarcastically.

"Seriously though, what does it mean?" Sam asked.

"It means that we have a lead in the case."

"The murderers coming after one of us isn't it?" Sam asked, rolling his eyes. When didn't they get targeted?

"Afraid so."

"Well isn't that wizard!" Sam said plastering on his best 'bitchface'.

After a very uneasy night they all woke up unscaved. They were all woken up by Sherlock's phone playing 'Heat of the moment' at full volume. The ringtone was curiosity to Deanna hacking into Sherlock's phone during the night.

When Sherlock answered the phone lestrade's voice sounded from the other end.

"Morning Sherlock."

"Yes, I'm aware it's the morning. Is there a reason you called other than to point out the obvious?"

"Yes, I was calling to inform you that there's been another murder."

"Same as before?"

"Yes. Will you come?"

"Another murder, so called spontaneous combustion? I wouldn't miss this for the world!"

"See you then."

"Goodbye Lestrade." Sherlock said as he hung up the phone.

When Sherlock hung up the phone he turned to the others and was met with looks of annoyance. Apparently people don't like being woken up by 'Heat of the moment' because of a murder at 7am. Normal people are so strange Sherlock thought.

"What?" He said.

"Why have we been woken up at the crack of dawn?" Deanna asked.

"First it's not as you so poetically said 'the crack of dawn' it's 7am. Second it's because there's been another murder."

Deanna perked up at the mention of murder. "There's been another murder?"

"Yes, I just told you that."

"Where?"

Sherlock realised that Lestrade had never actually told him where the murder was. He was about to call him back when Lestrade texted him the address. Deanna grabbed his wrist and started pulling him towards the door.

"Come on Sherlock we have to get to the crime scene before Microsoft does."

"You mean Mycroft?"

"Mycroft, Microsoft, same thing! Come on, let's go."

"I admire your enthusiasm but I think perhaps we should change out of our pajamas before we go to the crime scene."

Deanna examined herself and realised that she was, in fact, still in her pajamas.

"Alright fine! But I expect you back here in exactly 10 minutes!"

"Yes mam." Sherlock said with a mock salute.

"Well come on then! We don't have all day." Deanna said as she ran off to her room to change.

John laughed as Sherlock huffed. "Well you better get a move on. She'll probably leave without you if you aren't ready in 10 minutes."

"You're right, she probably would."

"Well then you better get a move on, you only have 9 minutes left."

Sherlock huffed again as he trudged down to his room.

"So Sam, looks like we're on research duty again."

"Looks like it."

From the distance they heard Deanna shout at them "No more dance parties without me!"

"No! Not our dance parties!" Sam yelled just loud enough for Deanna to hear from her room.

Deanna emerged from her room with dismantled hair and a backwards jacket on. "That's what you get for throwing dance parties without me, bitch!"

"Jerk!"

Deanna laughed and turned to John. "Sherlock needs to hurry up he only has 6 minutes left."

In the end Sherlock had cut it very close. He got down to Deanna just as his ten minutes ended and they'd left for the crime scene together. When they arrived Deanna had practically pounced on the dead man's ashes. It was odd seeing her walking around it in a manner similar to a cat.

"I don't see any cross." She stated. She sounded very judgemental by the fact that they was no cross. It sounded almost like she was judging someone's clothes.

"It was probably wooden so it would've burnt with the corpse."

"What cross?"

Sherlock and Deanna turned to look at the new comer. It was none other than Mycroft (or as Deanna calls him Microsoft) and all his glory.

"What?" Deanna asked playing dumb.

"Don't play dumb with me I heard you two talking. You said that you didn't see a cross implying that you were expecting to see one. What made you think that there'd be a cross?"

Deanna bit her lip hoping that Sherlock would cover for them.

"We deduced it Mycroft."

"Don't you mean that you deduced it?"

Wow, rude!

Deanna heard the flutter of wings behind her. She turned to see none other than Castiel standing behind her.

"What's the word Cas?" She asked.

"It's an abbreviated version of my name." Cas said cocking his head to the side.

"Never mind."

Mycroft and Castiel began intensely staring at each other.

"Who are you?" Mycroft finally asked.

"Castiel."

"How did you get here so fast?"

"I'm an angel of the lord."

Mycroft stared at him incredulously. "What?"

Deanna stepped between them laughing awkwardly. "No! He's not really an angel..."

Cas tried to interrupt her saying that he was but she shushed him. "No he's just... just... I don't have a good answer."

"Shouldn't we be focusing on more important things than whether or not Castiel is an angel?" Sherlock said.

"Yes." Deanna said, a bit too quickly.

Mycroft and Sherlock both began inspecting the ashes. They were trying to outdo each other with their deductions. It was funny to watch.

"Deanna." Cas stated reminding her that he was still there.

"Sorry Cas."

"It's alright Deanna."

"Why are you here?"

"I finished my work in Spain and figured that you might want some help in stopping the seal from breaking."

Mycroft turned around. "What seal?"

"One of the seals on the cage containing Lucifer." Cas stated like it was a completely normal thing to say.

"Lucifer as in the devil?"

"Yes, he's about to break free of his prison and cause hell on Earth. I thought you were the government, shouldn't you know all this?"

"I'm not the government!" Mycroft exclaimed.

"Could've fooled me." Sherlock muttered under his breath.

"I apologize for the mix up. I was informed by my superiors that you were, apparently they were mistaken."

"Well you can tell your superiors the truth when you leave 'Castiel'."

"They don't like to be corrected."

"Anyway!" Deanna said loudly and awkwardly. "I guess Cas here let the cat out of the bag about the whole end of the world thing."

"What cat? What was it doing in a bag?" Castiel asked confused.

"It's an expression, there is no cat."

"Oh." Castiel said sadly as if he'd been hoping there would've been a cat.

"Wait..." Mycroft said. "So 'Castiel' here's telling the truth? Lucifer is really going to break free and bring hell up with him?"

"Yes."

"We have to stop him!"

"That's what we're trying to do!"

"Wait Deanna, you and Sherlock are trying to stop armageddon?"

"Along with Sam and John."

"But why you? Why not let Castiel the so called angel do it?"

"I am an angel." Castiel stated annoyed. He looked like he wanted to stab Mycroft where he stood.

"It's our job." Deanna stated.

"Your job? The world doesn't rest on your shoulders Deanna. You're only 26 you have your whole life ahead of you."

Deanna looked Mycroft right in the eyes. A lone tear leaked from hers. "You don't understand Microsoft. You don't understand what's it's like to grow up in this life, to have everything you love taken away from you. I'm only 26 and I've seen much more death and destruction than most experienced veterans. I've seen things you wouldn't believe, I've lost things that you will never understand!"

Tears began to leave Deanna's eyes as she spoke.

"Deanna, I was just saying that the world doesn't rest on your shoulders. You don't have to save everyone."

"I have to try."

"Why?"
"Because I know what it's like to lose someone. When I was four years old I lost my mum, and when she died I think that a little part of John died with her. I still remember her, I still feel the pain of losing her every single day. I don't want anyone else to go through that as well. So yeah, I may not be able to save everyone but I can damn well try to."

Deanna was full on crying now. The day her mum had died, a hole had been left in her heart. A hole that could never be filled. She'd loved her mum and she knew that Sam would've loved her too. She wasn't sure which one of them had it worse. Sam didn't even remember Mary. He didn't know what he'd lost, but Deanna knew it all to well. She'd watched as John changed from the man who tucked her in at night to the soldier who hunted down everything he could get his hands on.

It had hurt, because it wasn't just that she'd lost her mum. She'd lost part of her dad too. She knew deep down that she'd never get him back, he was gone. But she never let it get to her, she let it make her thing about pain is the second you let it get to you it'll never let you go. It'll hurt and that hurt just won't stop. You can't let the pain control you. Sure it's painful, but you have to know how to use that hurt to make you stronger. The pain of loss is kind of like an abyss. You fall in and everything is dark, but once you climb out you realise how strong you really are. But if you don't get out quick it'll suck you in and consume you.

Deanna knew that she'd never be truly out of the abyss that was pain. That's what life as a hunter meant. Losing people is easy, keeping them alive not so much. But she pushes all her pain down and let's it make her stronger.

"Deanna? Are you okay?" She heard Cas ask.

"I'm fine Cas."

"You're crying."

"I'm fine, really." She said wiping away tears that had fallen.

"No, you're not."

"I am." Deanna insisted. She looked over at Sherlock and Mycroft to see if they were paying attention. At some point they'd begun fighting so they were completely oblivious to Deanna's crying.

"Deanna, lying is a sin you know. Tell me the truth."

"The truth is I'm tired Cas."

"What?"

"It doesn't matter. You wouldn't understand."

"Deanna-" Cas said awkwardly but Deanna cut him off.

"No Cas! I'm fine! F-I-N-E, fine!"

"You're-"

"Just shut up Cas!"

Cas hung his head and walked to the side of the room unsure of what to do next. Deanna walked over to Sherlock and Mycroft intending to take Sherlock and leave. She almost burst out laughing when she heard their argument.

"But Sherlock! There's no way that all this supernatural stuff actually exists!"

"Well it does Mycake!"

"It simply can't be possible! The supernatural only exists in fairy tales William."

"Isn't Castiel here proof enough that that's just simply not true, Microsoft?"

"There are millions of explanations as to what Castiel could be. You should really change your name, instead of Sherlock you should be Not-So-Surelock."

"And how would you explain Lucifer rising and causing the apocalypse? Eh, Fatcroft?"
"Obviously you're lying to me to try and trick me into believing this facade of yours Unsurelock."

"Why would I try and trick you with something as insane as this?"

Deanna -while, admittedly amused by the sibling bickering- decided that she should probably put a stop to it before it escalates and gets out if hand.

"Alright you two that's enough!" She yelled stepping between them.

Sherlock and Mycroft looked at her for the grand total of 5 seconds before going back to bickering. Shevardnadze rolled her eyes. Men.

As they continued to argue Deanna's phone went off with her current ringtone which was Shake it off by Taylor Swift. Sherlock looked at her in confusion.

"Taylor Swift? Really?"

She just shrugged in response and Sherlock went back to arguing with Mycroft. Deanna moved out of earshot of the men and Castiel.

"Hello?" She said as she answered.

"Oh Deanna thank god you picked up." Sam responded from the other end.

"What's going on?" Deanna asked poorly concealing the panic she was feeling in her voice.

"It's Moriarty. Get here quickly Deanna we can only hold him off for so long."

"I'll get there as soon as I can. Good luck Sammy!"

"It's Sam!" Sam said as he hung up the phone.

Deanna walked back over to the arguing siblings and grabbed Sherlock's wrist pulling him away.

"Hey!"

"You can argue with Microsoft anytime! Right now we have to go help Sam and John."

Sherlock stopped struggling upon hearing their names. "Why?"

"They're in danger stupid! We have to go help them."

"Where?"

"221B."

Sherlock turned to Cas who had been hiding away in the corner. "Can you take us there?"

Cas nodded.

"We'll then Allons-y!" Sherlock said.

Deanna looked over at Mycroft and gave him a cocky smile. "As much fun as its been catching up with you today I'm afraid we must reschedule due to the possible potential demise of our family. Goodbye Microfiber."

The last thing Deanna heard him say before cas transported them to Baker St was "It's Microsoft! I mean Mycroft!" She laughed as she heard the words. Her laughter was immediately stopped as they found out how angel transport really is. It isn't smooth, for one thing. It's more like the most unstable rollercoaster in the world times 50. Fortunately, they landed in one piece.

"About time you two showed up!" Sam shouted as they appeared. He was pinned against a wall struggling to get free. John was on the ground holding a gun in a fighting stance. Moriarty was clearly winning the battle.

When Moriarty and cas saw each other the tension in the room became so thick you could slice it with a knife. They just stared at each other.

"Azazel." Cas finally said.

"It's Moriarty now." Moriarty said chirpily.

"I thought I killed you back in 1863."

"You failed to kill me back in 1863 Castiel. Missed."

"Whether I killed you then or not I could still kill you stone dead right now." Cas said darkly.

"You could, but you won't. You can't interfere, don't want to piss off Fate again do you?"

Deanna took advantage of the distraction and managed to find and grab the colt. She pointed at Moriarty's head and yelled "Alright Moriarty the jig is up."

"You can kill me but who's to say you'll manage it before I kill John?"

Deanna cocked the gun and stared right into Moriarty's eyes daring him to try her.

"This gun can kill you, you know that. So... Do the chicken dance."

Everyone was taken back by Deanna's demand for Moriarty to dance. Reluctantly he did so. It was hilarious to watch. When he was done Everyone except Cas and Moriarty himself was on the floor in a fit of laughter.

"Soooo Castiel how's heaven been?" Moriarty asked in attempt to make conversation.

"I can guarantee you it's better than hell."

"Great talk."

Deanna stood back up and wasted no time in shooting Moriarty right through the head. He collapsed to the ground in a heap. Deanna brought the gun to her mouth and blew away the stem from when the bullet had fired. She then lowered it twirling it on her fingertips.

"One seal successfully saved." Cas said as he watched Moriarty crumble before him.

Deanna laughed. "Yeah, one saved."

A/N: So yeah that happened. I'm sorry I killed Moriarty. I literally cried as I wrote it (probably because I was slightly sleep deprived when I did but eh). I may bring him back to life later on who knows?

For the person that asked about Ruby and Molly- Ruby will appear next chapter. I don't quite know when or if I'll include Molly but I'll try to.

Also... Are there any other characters you'd like to see appear later on? Okay that's about it! GOODBYE... for now!
