A/N: Okay this is by far the longest chapter written for this fic. This chapter has been hell to write so I hope you all like it...

Disclaimer: I could come up with a clever line about how I don't own Sherlock and Supernatural but everything I have to say has probably already crossed your mind.

Chapter 22

Sherlock stared into the open box seeing the worst of himself. When he'd opened the box all of his fears and bad memories He dropped the box in shock. The girl... what was her name? Oh right Pandora, rushed to the discarded box. She picked it up and slammed the lid shut.

"No!" She yelled.

Sherlock couldn't process why she was yelling. All of his negative emotions had been amplified to the point where they were screaming at him. Screaming at him to just lay down and die. Sherlock was stronger than that though, even in his drunken haze he wouldn't give in to that voice telling him to give up. The battle was far from over.

Pandora ran off with the box in hand. Sherlock was too overwhelmed to go after her. It's strange how powerful memories and emotions are. They could easily decapitate anyone. They could send even the strongest man over the edge. Mycroft had always taught him that 'all lives end, all hearts are broken, caring is not an advantage.' Sherlock always knew that he was right but sometimes you can't help but care.

"Sherlock?" He heard a girl's voice call from the distance. He was too lost in thought to respond. He heard the sound of running coming towards him.

"Sherlock?" There was that voice again. Who did it belong to again? Sherlock looked up and saw Deanna leaning over him.

"Squirrel?" He asked confused.

"Who on earth is squirrel?" She asked.

"Not squirrel then... What's your name? Dee? Dean?"

"Deanna."

"No! That's not it. It's...it's... Deanna!"

Deanna mentally face palmed herself. Is he freaking serious?

"Who's the girl? Is she your girlfriend?" Sherlock asked suddenly.

"What!? No! I'm not gay!"

"That's exactly what the hedgehog one says." Sherlock said suspiciously.

"Who's 'the hedgehog one'?"

"The short one. What's his name? The Doctor? John? It's one of those."

"It's John."

"Excuse me missy! I believe that the short hedgehog who says he isn't gay isn't what we were discussing!"

"Anna is not my girlfriend Sherlock! Remember? She's our current client."

"Noooo." Sherlock said sarcastically.

"Yes." Deanna responded.

Anna began laughing at the display before her. It was surprisingly amusing. Suddenly Sherlock walked over to Anna and grabbed her hand. "Nice to meet you Sarah! My name is Sherlock Holmes. I have been told that you are my latest lamppost."

"My name's Anna." She corrected.

"Right! Anna! There's always something!"

Anna leaned over to Deanna and asked her in a hushed whisper "What's he talking about?"

"There's often something he'll get wrong when deducing someone." Deanna responded.

Sherlock popped up between them and pulled them into a hug. "Can't we all just get along?" He exclaimed.

"We weren't fighting Sherlock?" Anna said.

Sherlock was finally starting to relax. He guessed that whatever Pandora had had in that box had disappeared now.

Suddenly his surroundings started to flicker in and out of existence. They changed to things that were truly terrifying. He tried to focus on Anna and Deanna, hoping that maybe by focusing on them he could convince himself that what was going on around him wasn't real.

But then he saw Deanna's eyes change from the vibrant green they usually were to pure black. He looked over at Anna and her eyes changed too.

Sherlock scampered back away from them and yelled "Get away from me!"

"Sherlock?" Deanna made a move to go towards him.

"Stay back!" Sherlock yelled. Deanna froze where she stood, obviously having second thoughts.

"Sherlock, calm down. It's just us." She said reassuringly.

"No! You're not them! Don't lie to me. I can see your eyes!"

When Sherlock looked at them all he could see were demonic black eyes.

"We're not demons." Anna said calmly.

"That's exactly what a demon would say." Sherlock pointed out.

"You have to listen to us Sherlock. You're delirious. We're not possessed!"

"Get away from me! You're not Deanna!"

"Sherlock, please stop this. It's me. It's me! I'm Deanna."

"Nice lie, but you won't fool me this time."

"What do you mean 'this time'?"

Before Sherlock could answer her he froze and abruptly collapsed to the ground. Deanna ran to his side and checked his pulse. She was relieved to find that there was one. She threw her phone at Anna and yelled "Call John!"

Anna quickly dialed John's number. He picked up on the third ring,

"Deanna? Why are you calling me?" He said as he answered.

"I'm not Deanna." Anna answered.

"Then why are you calling from Deanna's phone?"

"Because Deanna threw it at me and told me to call you."

"Why? What's going on?"

"It's Sherlock."

"What has he done this time?"

"He started freaking out, he thought that we were demons. Then he just sort of collapsed."

"Is he still collapsed?"

"Yes."

"Is he breathing?"

Anna looked over at Deanna who was busying herself sorting out Sherlock. She'd placed him into the recovery position but looked clueless as to what to do next.

"Deanna?"

Deanna's head shot up, like a meerkat. "What?"

"Is he breathing?"

"Yes, I would've told you to call an ambulance if he wasn't!" She responded angrily.

"Yes, he's breathing."

"Okay good. Is he hurt?"

"We don't know. He was drunk though."

"Can you get him back to the flat?"

"He's unconscious."

"That wasn't the question."

"I'll ask."

"Deanna! Do you think we'd be able to get him back to the flat?"

"I don't know. Even with two of us it'll be a challenge and people will probably want to know why we're carrying an unconscious man down the street."

"We could get a cab."

"Sherlock doesn't have the best record with cabs."

"What-"

"That's a story for another time."

"Then how are we supposed to get him home? It's not like we can take him to a hospital!"

"Wait I have an idea." Deanna said standing up and walking away from Sherlock. She walked further away so that she would be out of sight.

"Castiel? I know that you can hear me. I need help. So come down here."

She heard the tell tale flutter of wings behind her and turned around to see Castiel staring at her.

"What is it Deanna?" He asked with a slight tone of… something. Deanna couldn't put her finger on it, but if she didn't know any better she'd say that it was fear.

"It's Sherlock."

"What happened to him?"

"We don't know, we think that Pandora may have gotten to him."

"Pandora?" Cas asked tilting his head to the side in a confused manner.

"Yes."

"The demon Pandora?"

"There's a demon named Pandora?"

"Yes."

"Can't say I've heard of them, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Pandora we're after is one. In fact she actually fits the signs for possession."

Deanna was burst from her confusion when she heard Anna yell at her. "Hey Deanna, remember Sherlock?"

"Right. Cas, can you take him back to the flat for us?"

"Why do I need to take him to 'the flat' Deanna? He is already lying on a flat surface."

Deanna mentally face palmed. "Not that kind of flat. 221B."

"Why didn't you just tell me to take him to 221B then?"

"Because I thought you'd know what a flat is but obviously I was wrong!"

"But Deanna I do know what a flat is. A flat is defined as the flat part of something. It is also defined as an upright section of stage scenery mounted on a movable frame."

"Just take him to 221B!" She shouted at him.

Cas walked over to Sherlock and placed his fingertips on his forehead. Seconds later both Sherlock and Cas disappeared.

"Pass me the phone." Anna obliged, handing the phone over to Deanna.

"John, it's me, Deanna. Just letting you know that Cas is about to appear with Sherlock in the flat."

"Yeah, he just appeared."

"Okay. I'm gonna hang up now."

"Bye."

Deanna hung up. She turned to Anna who was looking at her with a confused expression as if to say 'what now?'

"We should probably head back to 221B." Deanna said answering the unspoken question. Anna agreed and pretty soon they were attempting to find a cab to take them back to the flat.

Sam and John...

Sure John had known that Cas was going to materialize in the flat but he didn't expect it to happen only seconds after Deanna had told him. He almost dropped his phone in surprise as the trench coated angel appeared in front of him.

Sam had been in the kitchen at the time of Castiel's materialization. He walked back into the living area holding two coffees which he had just made. The second he saw Castiel he dropped both of them out of shock.

"Cas? What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Deanna asked me to bring Sherlock here." He responded curtly.

Sam had failed to notice Sherlock until Cas had said that. He looked at Sherlock's limp body that Cas was somehow supporting. Did angels have super strength or something? He wondered to himself.

"What should we do with him?" Sam asked John.

"The best thing to do is probably to lie him down and see if he regains consciousness."

"You're the doctor!"

John took Sherlock from Castiel and semi dragged him over to the couch. Somehow he managed to get Sherlock safely onto the couch.

Cas coughed awkwardly behind them trying to get their attention. Sam fortunately noticed and turned to look at him.

"What is it Cas?"

"I need to tell you something very important and I don't know how much time I will have to do it."

"Okay, tell us then."

"You may think that they're on your side but they aren't! They aren't trying to stop it, they're trying to start it!"

"Who are?"

"The-" Cas disappeared before he could finish his sentence.

"Cas?" Sam questioned.

"He's gone Sam." John said.

"But where did he go? Why did he go?" Sam asked seemingly to himself.

"We'll find out eventually, but right now I need you to help me with Sherlock."

John went over to Sherlock and lightly shook him. "Sherlock? Can you hear me?" He asked. Sherlock failed to respond. "Sherlock?" John asked again.

Sherlock suddenly sat upright and looked around the room in alarm. "Where am I?"

"You're at 221B."

"How'd I get here? Where are the squirrel and Anna?"

"Squirrel?"

"That's not her name?"

"You mean Deanna?"

"Yeah her."

"I think they're on their way back."

"Oh ok. How'd I get here though?"

"Castiel took you here."
"The angel? But how-" Sherlock suddenly froze. He remembered what had happened with Pandora. She'd got him to open that box but how?

"Where is she?"

"Where is who?" Sam asked confused.

"Pandora!" Sherlock exclaimed as if it was obvious.

"Pandora? The same Pandora we're looking for?"

"Yes, she found me! She had this box, this horrible box."

"What was in the box?" John asked.

"Bad things." Sherlock said refusing to elaborate. He didn't want to remember what he had seen upon opening the box.

Before John could question Sherlock any further Deanna burst through the door playing back in black loudly from her phone. The others all stared at her questionably.

"What?" She asked defensively.

"What was that?" Sam asked.

"An entrance..." She replied in a sarcastic tone of voice.

"But did it have to be such a theatrical one?"

"Just be glad I wasn't playing heat of the moment Sammy! We both know how much you hate that song."

"You know why I hate that song!"

"Yeah that never ending Tuesday dream you told me about. But my awesome entrance isn't what we should be worrying about right now. We should be worrying about Anna. How are we supposed to get her grace? it's all the way in a different country!"

"I have an idea." Sam piped up. "But you're not going to like it." He said looking at Deanna.

"What is it?"

"Ruby."

"No! Absolutely not. We're not letting that demonic bitch anywhere near Anna."

"It's our only option Deanna. We don't know when Cas'll be back even if he will be back at all. She's our only chance. You have to trust me on this."

"Fine! But I still don't like it." Deanna said angrily.

Sam pulled out his phone and dialed Ruby's number. He excused himself and walked off into another room.

"Hey Ruby."

"Sam? Why are you calling? Do you need anymore?"

"No I'm good thanks. I need you to transport my family and I to..."

"Kentucky?"

"How'd you know?"

"I had a chat with Deanna earlier."

"But she didn't-"

"I'm assuming this is unrelated to what I talked to Deanna about then."

"Yes. I just need you to transport us there alright?"

"What happened to that other angel of yours? What was his name? Cas... Cassiel… Castiel?"

"He's occupied."

"So I'm your only hope. What does Deanna think of this little plan of yours."

"That it's our best option. Are you in or not?"

"I'm in."

Before Sam could even hang up the phone Ruby was knocking on their front door. Sam quickly hung up the phone and ran down to meet her. He opened the door.

"Hiya Ruby."

"Hey Sam. So where is it I need to take you and your family?"

"There's a tree in Kentucky."

"That's not exactly helpful, Sammy."

Sam hadn't even realised that Deanna had snuck up behind her until he heard her voice behind him.

"Don't call him Sammy." She said angrily.

"I'll call him whatever I want to call him Dee."

"Don't call me that." Deanna snapped.

"Why don't you let the adults talk Deanna?"

"I'm older than Sam?" She pointed out.

"Back off Deanna." Ruby said her voice edging on dangerous.

"Or what?" Deanna challenged.

"Or this." Ruby said with a smile. She held her hand up and flicked her wrist sending Deanna flying backwards through the air. She hit her head on the ground and was unconscious in seconds.

"What was that for?" Sam snapped at Ruby.

"She wouldn't leave us alone."

"That didn't mean you had to throw her across a room!"

"Calm down Sammy. She'll be fine. Now are you going to tell me where I need to take you or not?"

Sam quickly told her about the tree and where they needed to go.

"Let's go!"

"Hang on!"

Sam ran inside slamming the door on Ruby. He ran over to Deanna who had regained consciousness.

"Sammy?" She asked confused.

"Deanna, are you okay?"

"Of course I am! I'm always okay!" She said with a smile that almost fooled Sam.

"No you're not Deanna." John said from behind. "You have concussion."

"No I don't, I'm fine!"

"Lying about it doesn't make it any less true." John pointed out.
"I'm not lying! I'm perfectly fine!"

"Sure you are." John said sarcastically.

"Let's just go."
"You aren't going anywhere."

"What!? Why not?"

"You are concussed you shouldn't be hunting."

"To bad! I'm going and you can't stop me." Deanna said determinedly.

"But-"

"No buts Sammy! I'm going. Come on."

"You're staying here with Sherlock." John said finally.

Sherlock got up from the couch and went over to John. "Why do I have to stay here?"

"Something to do with the fact that you passed out not that long ago."

Sherlock thought for a second before realising that John was right. He shouldn't be hunting especially after that. Anyway the whole Pandora incident was still fresh in his mind and he didn't want to go dragging up what's better left buried.

"Alright, I'll stay."

John stared at him in shock. He hadn't been expecting Sherlock to agree to staying so easily.

"You will?"

"Yes John. Why would I have said it if it wasn't true?" Sherlock said sarcastically.

"Well then since you're staying could you keep Deanna here?"

"Hold on! I'm not staying! What if you guys need me?"

"Deanna, you're hurt. If you come with us you'll only get yourself more hurt. Concussion is a serious medical condition. It can affect your judgement. You're not going and that is final!"

"But-"

"No. You're staying here with Sherlock whether you like it or not."

John turned and walked out the door, leaving Deanna staring at him dumbstruck. Deanna shot Sam a pleading look but he turned his back on her and quickly went out the door. He wasn't going to let Deanna guilt him into taking her along. Sam gestured to Anna to follow him.

Anna shot a weak smile at Deanna before she followed Sam out the door. Once they were all outside Deanna flopped down on the couch.

"Great, what am I supposed to do now?" She asked herself.

Once outside Ruby transported the trio to the tree which Sam supposed Anna's grace was at. The second Anna saw the tree she knew that her grace had landed there. She walked up to the tree and put her hand on it in an attempt to draw her grace to her. The others all stared at her in confusion but didn't question the action.

"Is it there?" Sam asked suddenly.

Anna felt through the tree for even the slightest hint of her grace. She couldn't find one.

"It was, someone took it."

"But who?" John asked.

"Probably another angel."

"Great. That's great, really. What do we do now?"

"We go to the barn and we wait for the angels and demons to show. They all want Anna, best to let them fight each other and kill each other in the crossfire." Ruby said.

"It's the best plan we've got, take us there."

Ruby grabbed all of them and transported them to an abandoned run-down barn.

"How are we supposed to get them here?" John asked.

"I'll take care of the demons. You guys make a plan with the angels." Ruby said before vanishing.

"We could ask Cas?" Sam suggested.

"I don't think Cas can help us. Remember how he just disappeared when he dropped off Sherlock. He didn't look like he wanted to leave. Something is probably keeping him from helping."

"We could try praying?" Sam joked.

"Praying to who? God?" John said sarcastically.

"Sam might be on to something. I bet you almost anything that it's Zach who's after me. But then again... why would they believe one of you if you prayed to him?"

"You could do it." John said suddenly.

"Me?" Anna questioned.

"Yes you."

"It's worth a shot." Anna said with a shrug.

Just before midnight they set their plan into motion. John and Sam set up angel banishing symbols (which Anna had told them about) and devil's traps all over the barn. They were ready. John looked at Anna signalling her that it was time. Anna nodded and looked up at the roof of the barn.

"Zachariah. It's me Anna or as you know me Anael. I know that you can track me through this prayer. So come and get me you son of a bitch."

The sound of wings fluttering was heard and suddenly two angels were standing in front of them.

"Anna. Good to see you again." One of them said.

"Save the sweet talk Uriel."

Before they could get into a full on word to word battle Ruby appeared covered in cuts and bruises. Five other demons were with her, two were holding her upright or keeping her captive, it was kinda hard to tell.

"Don't touch a hair on her head." One of the demons commanded. The demon had a thick accent which sounded like an imitation of Marlon Brando.

"How dare you enter this room... you pathetic pile of trash."

"Oh name calling. What are we? Five?"

"Turn around and walk away now." The other angel spoke up.

"Sure. Just give me the girl. I'll make sure she gets punished nice and proper."

"You know who we are and what we will do. I won't say it again. Leave now... or we lay you to waste."

"I'll take my chances." The demon said cockily.

The angels and demons began an all out war. Sam and John ducked around a corner to avoid being caught up in the crossfire. Sam heard a demon shriek as one of the angels exorcised it.

"Potestas inferna, me confirma. Potestas inferna, me confirma. Potestas inferma, me confirma!" The demon with a thick accent began chanting. Before he could finish Anna hit him with a crowbar.

"Damn that hurt!" The thick accented demon exclaimed.

The demon tried to attack Anna but she dodged the attack. Unfortunately this put Sam and John in his line of sight.

"Why hello there. Come out and play." The demon said.

"Sure I'll play." Sam said grabbing the colt from his pocket and aiming it.

"Really?" The demon asked sarcastically.

Before Sam could respond Anna ripped a pendant off of Uriel's neck and smashed it on the ground.

"No!" Uriel yelled.

A bright white light began coming out of the pendant and into Anna.

"Shut your eyes!" She exclaimed.

Sam and John both got down and shielded their eyes. Uriel and the other angel watched Anna in fascination. Anna's body began glowing with a bright light which probably could've blinded any human who saw it. When the light faded all the demons except for Ruby and Anna herself were gone.

'What are you waiting for? Go get Anna, unless of course you're scared." Sam said to Uriel.

"This isn't over." Uriel said glaring at Sam. Before anyone else could say anything both of the angels disappeared.

"Look's like your plan worked Ruby."

"I always knew it would." Ruby said proudly.

Meanwhile at 221B with Sherlock and Deanna...

While they were waiting for Sam and John to return Sherlock and Deanna had decided to play a game of 'Who am I.' Surprisingly Sherlock was terrible at the game and Deanna kept winning.

"Am I a person?" Sherlock asked.

"Yes."

"Am I human?" Deanna asked.

"Yes."

"Am I..."

Before Sherlock could finish his question they heard the sound of the door being kicked down. They both went silent and slowly walked towards the door to confront the intruder. They were surprised when they saw that the intruder was in fact a little girl. Well not just any little girl. Sherlock immediately knew who she was. It was Pandora.

"Did you miss me?" She said as she entered the room.

"I don't know you..." Deanna said awkwardly.

"I wasn't talking to you honey. I was talking to Sherlock over there."

Deanna looked between Sherlock and Pandora in confusion. "You know her?" She finally asked.

"Deanna, she's Pandora!" Sherlock exclaimed.

Pandora glared and him. She flicked her wrist and suddenly he was pinned to a wall across the room.

"That's enough outta you." She said to Sherlock.

"So you're Pandora?" Deanna asked questionably.

"Yes."

"I was expecting something... better."

"You want better Deanna? How about I give you better." Pandora said threateningly.

"How about no..." Deanna attempted to punch Pandora but she blocked it.

"I don't think so Deanna. After all you don't want to hurt this poor defenseless girl I'm possessing. That's the problem with you 'heroes' you won't hurt an innocent even though you know what I am. Yet then again you can't really call yourself a hero now can you Deanna? Not after what you've done."

"Heroes don't exist." Deanna said flatly.

"Sure, whatever floats your boat."

"Are you here for a reason or do you just want to exchange words?"

Pandora held up her box. Deanna rolled her eyes.

"Of course how predictable."

"You're not going to resist?"

"That's for me to know and for you to find out."

"Eh, it's not like you could resist it if you tried." Pandora handed the box over to Deanna and smiled at her.

"Go on open it, I know you want to." Pandora said.

Deanna didn't want to open the box. Not at all but her body didn't agree with her mind. It was like the box had some sort of spell on it. Deanna tried to stop herself as her hands moved to open the box, but whatever magic surrounded the box was too strong. Before she could even process it the box was open and all of her hell memories overcame her like an avalanche.

She was so absorbed in the memories that she failed to notice the fact she'd collapsed to the ground. She failed to hear Sherlock asking if she was okay. Pandora laughed at her. Pandora's laughter echoed through Deanna's mind as the hell memories overpowered her.

"Deanna!" Sherlock yelled as she collapsed to the ground.

Pandora just laughed a sick and twisted laugh. "You can't save her Sherly, the only one who can save her is herself."

"I swear to god I'll kill you." Sherlock threatened.

"You don't even believe in god Sherly. Catch you later." Pandora sneered as she disappeared.

Relieved from the force keeping him against the wall Sherlock rushed to check on Deanna. She was alive but she was at the point of hyperventilation. He needed help, and fast. He pulled out his phone and dialed John's number. John picked up on the first ring.

"Sherlock? Why are you calling me?"

"I need help!"
