Chapter 25
"Mrs Hudson?" Deanna echoed.
"Why so surprised Deanna?" Mrs Hudson questioned.
Deanna stared at Mrs Hudson in shock unable to find words.
"You can't be Mrs Hudson, she would never-" Sherlock began.
"Never try to kill you? I thought you were supposed to be impressive Sherlock, but it seems that your as clueless as Deanna here." Mrs Hudson said with a laugh.
"Standing right here!" Deanna called.
"No, you're not Mrs Hudson. Mrs Hudson wouldn't try to kill us." Sherlock stated.
"Well I had to keep my plans secret, living under the same roof as the famed Sherlock Holmes for years."
"Christo." Deanna whispered under her breath.
Mrs Hudson turned to her, her eyes flashing black as she did so. "What did you say you little brat?"
Deanna held her breath for a moment observing Mrs Hudson's now jet black eyes. Seeing those eyes she knew this wasn't Mrs Hudson.
"You're not Mrs Hudson." Deanna stated.
Sherlock moved closer, weapon raised. Deanna could also see John still hidden but holding his gun ready to shoot. Deanna gestured for him not to but John didn't appear to catch it.
The demon within Mrs Hudson grabbed Deanna's shirt collar and pulled her closer. "It doesn't matter." She stated with a sinister smile.
Deanna tried to pull away but Mrs Hudson held on too strong. "You along with your family are all going to die, and you're going to die screaming." She said as she threw Deanna to the ground.
Deanna landed hard on the ground with a thud, she felt the scrapes form on her hands as she attempted to break her fall. She glared up at the demon inhabiting Mrs Hudson who just laughed. It turned to the criminals who had simply been standing there and smiled.
"Kill them... All of them." She ordered.
The criminals quickly started advancing towards her and Sherlock. John and Cas had managed to remain hidden. Sherlock moved towards Deanna and helped her to her feet. They looked at each other trying to decide the best course of action. Before either of them could do anything they heard the sound of gunshots. As they looked around they say criminals drop like flies. It had to have been John.
Deanna pulled her gun out from where it had been concealed under her jacket. Though before she could manage to shoot it was knocked out of her hands by a man dressed in black. The man swung a sword by her head in an attempt to cleave it off but she ducked before the blade connected, instead the man only managed to take off a bit of hair.
"Dude, come on! I'd finally gotten my hair perfect and then you just had to ruin it! Come on dude!" She yelled at him jokingly. The man cocked his head slightly at her, not expecting this sort of reaction.
He swung the blade again, this time narrowly missing Deanna's torso. She made an attempt to get the blade from his hands but found she was outmatched strength wise. The man noticed this as well and used it to his maneuvered his limbs so that he had Deanna in a headlock, rendering her unable to escape.
She struggled in vain to free herself from his iron grip. Every move she knew seemed futile against the man. Deanna knew she was in trouble. Looking nearby for any sign of help she saw Sherlock already caught up in a battle of his own, John was wrestling with one of the men for his gun and Cas was nowhere to be seen.
"Help!" Deanna called out in vain, she knew that nobody actually could help her but damn she needed it. The man was double her height and twice her strength there was no way she stood a chance.
"Say your goodbyes Deanna." The man holding her captive snickered as he attempted to drive his knife into her heart. Fortunately for her he missed by quite a bit and the knife plunged into her stomach instead. She hissed in pain as she felt the knife dig into her flesh.
Despite the pain Deanna forced herself to go limp. She knew that if she didn't the man would know she was still alive and simply try and stab her again. As she went limp the man dropped her to the ground. She forced herself not to try and break her fall knowing that it would expose her. It took everything she had not to cry out in pain as she collided with the ground.
"Deanna!" She heard John call. She wanted to tell him she was fine, well not fine, but alive.
John had seen Deanna go down from where he was. He'd managed to wrestle his gun back from the man and had whacked him over the head with it knocking him unconscious. John was now in a standoff with a woman who also had a gun.
Her hands were shaking as she held the gun, it was obvious to John that this had to be her first time holding one.
"You don't have to do this." John told her, noting how shaky her grip around the gun was. She was using her other hand to steady the gun.
"I do." She stated.
"Why?"
"If I don't she'll kill my family." The woman stated.
"We could help, you just have to let us." John told her, lowering his gun slightly to show her he didn't want to hurt her.
"No!" She said shaking her head. "You can't! I have to kill you, I'm sorry." She stated. Her hand shaking more as tears began to stream from her eyes.
"Please don't do this." John pleaded.
"I have to. I'm sorry." She said as she squeezed her eyes shut and pulled the trigger.
A/N: CLIFFHANGER! Will John survive? Will Deanna survive? Where is Cas in all of this? What's Sam doing? All these questions and possibly more will be answered next chapter...
