A/N: Hahaha I writ's my way through stress that's basically all this chapter is my stress about a school assement. I wrote this probably yesterday and did the assement today and I totally failed it and now I'm dying inside so the result of that is more torment for characters but oh well. Enjoy?

Chapter 26

John shut his eyes as he heard the gunshot go off. He expected the pain he knew the bullet wound would cause him but it never came. He opened his eyes to see the woman with her hands being held behind her back by Deanna. Deanna was swaying slightly on her feet and a trail of blood led to her location.

"Deanna?" John asked in confusion.

"The one and only. Now if you don't mind John could you please knock her out or something I can't hold her forever." Deanna said, her voice cheerful despite the situation.

John nodded and knocked out the woman with his gun. Deanna let the woman drop to the ground as soon as John had her incapacitated.

Know that Deanna no longer had a woman in front of her John could see the full extent of her injuries. Her clothes were soaked through with blood. Now she didn't need to hold the woman still she had her hands wrapped around her stomach obviously trying to apply as much pressure as possible to her wound.

Despite her obvious pain Deanna still stayed on her feet. "Deanna, you need to sit down." John told her.

Deanna shook her head frantically. "I can't sit down John. You guys need all the help you can get!" She said with a laugh.

"You look dead on your feet, I think we can manage without you." John stated trying to guide Deanna to the ground.

"I'm not sitting down!" She yelled attracting the attention of a young girl who had been amongst the group of criminals.

Within seconds the young girl had teleported to them something not humanly possible. John held his gun knowing she wasn't human and shot at her. The bullet wounds didn't even seem to phase her.

"Seriously John? This was a new dress!" She said gesturing to the dress she was wearing.

"Sorry I was only trying to kill you." John stated.

"Like you could kill me." She said with a laugh.

"Who are you then?" Deanna asked holding a knife out in front of her. John had no clue where she'd gotten it or how she was even standing. With her injuries she should be out cold by now.

"The names Lilith." She said. She held up her hand and the knife went flying from Deanna's hand into hers.

"I didn't think demons possessed preschoolers." John said with a laugh.

Lilith glared at him. "Strong words to say around someone who could easily end your existence right here and now." She said wildly gesturing with the knife.

"When do they show up?" Deanna asked smiling smugly at Lilith. She turned to her and suddenly a great force was holding her in place.

"I'm going to enjoy this." Lilith said as she walked over to Deanna and ran the knife over her right arm. Deanna winced as she felt the knife pierced her skin. The pain from her earlier stab wound seemed to have faded as she'd likely gone into shock.

"What do you get out of this Lilith?" She asked as Lilith made yet another cut this time making jagged cuts on her chest.

"Fun." Lilith stated with a satanic smirk.

"You're sick!" John yelled at her.

"That's strong words for someone whose daughter is strung up like cattle about to be carved into."

"Stop! She's my daughter." John pleaded.

"What are you going to do Johnny boy?" Lilith said as she flicked her wrist sending John tumbling to the ground. "You're just a mere mortal."

John looked up at Deanna, trying in vain to get to her but found that he was trapped on the ground. Deanna had tears in her eyes as Lilith carved into her like she was that night's chicken dinner. John could see the barely concealed pain evident on her face. He prayed to whatever God was out there that Deanna would make it out of this safely.

Deanna was struggling against Lilith's grip that was holding her firmly in place. Blood had thoroughly soaked through her shirt, a puddle of blood was forming beneath her. Deanna however was glaring at Lilith, her teeth gritted in an attempt to not let the demon know the pain she was in.

"So Deanna, ready to give up?" Lilith asked, smiling as she twirled the knife in her hand.

Deanna stared at her with an icy glare. She said something that neither John or Lilith heard. Lilith smirked and stepped closer to Deanna. She held the knife to Deanna's neck.

"What was that? I didn't hear you there." She laughed.

"I said no." Deanna growled out through gritted teeth.

"Why not? You're clearly outmatched, you're close to death... What do you have to lose?" Lilith questioned.

Deanna met Lilith's gaze. "It's not what I have to lose..." Deanna answered, looking down at John.

Lilith followed her gaze down to John. "Oh of course, it's about them. You're 'family.' They don't even care about you. They'd sell you out without a second thought."

"Don't listen to her Deanna!" John yelled before he found himself unable to speak. Lilith was glaring at him "Shush." She stated.

"Lilith I know you're lying. They care about me!" Deanna yelled though John could see something in her eyes saying that she didn't really believe the words she was speaking.

"Is that why they let you rot in hell?" Lilith questioned.

"They-" Deanna began but was unable to find the words to finish. A lone tear streamed down her cheek.

"They what Deanna? Spit it out." She said as she began to dig her knife into her flesh. Blood from Deanna began soaking her clothes too due to the closeness.

"There was no way they could've saved me. Besides I don't deserve to be saved." Deanna said barely audible. John could see in her eyes that she truly meant the words she was speaking and it hurt him that she felt that way. She was his daughter, of course she deserved to be saved.

John tried to find his voice to tell her she was wrong, that she deserved to be saved but now words would come.

Lilith smiled upon noticing Deanna's broken expression. There was so much blood everywhere it was a miracle Deanna hadn't lost consciousness. Deanna was shaking where she stood and minutely shaking her head.

"This isn't real." Deanna kept muttering to herself as she looked down at her feet. Lilith tilted her head up so that she was looking at her.

"Oh it's real." Lilith said, her voice laced with venom.

Deanna shook her head. "No it can't be, Cas got me out of hell." She said, her voice cracking as tears trickled down her face.

"Oh honey, you can never escape hell. Didn't Alastair manage to teach you that?" Lilith taunted.

John saw Deanna flinch at the name Alastair. He wondered who Alastair had to be for Deanna to show an actual sign of fear. Her eyes glassed over and more tears streamed down her face. The trembling of her body increased. John wanted nothing more than to hold her and tell her it would all be okay but that wasn't feasible.

He just hoped that someone would come to their aid.

"Oh Johnny boy, this is all your fault." Lilith said addressing him now.

"What do you mean, bitch?" John growled.

"Well if it wasn't for you Deanna wouldn't be a hunter so therefore she wouldn't be experiencing this pain."

"Stop." Deanna's voice came out weak but the word was clearly heard. "It's not his fault."

"He made you into his soldier! He made you fight wars when you were a kid. It's all his fault."

"No, I could've left if I wanted to." She stated loudly then under her breath whispered to herself "family doesn't end in blood."

Lilith heard and just laughed. "Deanna, of course family ends in blood! Especially when they try and be heroes, you know what happens to heroes Deanna? They die."

"Heroes don't exist, and if they did I wouldn't be one. I'm useless, I'm pathetic." Deanna whispered to herself staring down at the ground. John wasn't really sure what was going on but by the look in Deanna's eyes it was obvious she wasn't really seeing the situation at hand.

"Deanna that's not true!" John yelled at her. "You're a hero!"

Deanna didn't respond. She looked ready to collapse with the shakes that wracked her body. It was like she was in the middle of stormy waters barely able to keep afloat. Lilith was looking at her in a way a shark would eye it's prey.

Lilith twirled the knife again before placing it on Deanna's neck ominously. "Any last words?"
