Some of Sakura's abilities are like Senbonzakura from Bleach. You could I got my inspiration for this story from that and because I love wolves and Byakuya! Hitsugaya Toshiro will always be my favorite though! If any of my readers are Bleach fans, tell me who your favorite character is and if you're as sad as I am about the show being over when the manga is still going.

Mikoto noticed that her youngest son had started going out more than usual. At first she thought he was training more, but one day she noticed a flash of white out of the corner of her eye. Sasuke had just gotten home and she went to greet him. Whatever it was disappeared before she could get a better look. The next day she noticed it again and just like the day before, it was when Sasuke returned home. After the third time, her motherly instincts kicked up.

Someone is following my baby.

She feared that someone was trying to kidnap her son like the Kumo shinobi that took the little Hyuuga heiress. Not wanting to jump to conclusions, she decided against telling her husband. Instead she followed Sasuke the next day.

When Sasuke bid her goodbye she gave him a minute before pursuing him. As she suspected, he was heading to the training grounds where Itachi practiced his shuriken jutsu. No one else seemed to be following Sasuke. Perhaps the Hyuuga incident was just making her paranoid. Just to be safe, she lingered a little longer. Pride swelled in her chest as she watched her little boy perfect his form, hitting each target with increasing accuracy. She checked her surroundings one last time and deemed it safe enough to return home. When she glanced at her son she was surprised to see him picking his weapons up. He never went home this early. She was proven correct when Sasuke ran in the complete opposite direction and deeper into the woods. Curiosity and worry made her follow him.

Sasuke navigated through the trees quite confidently. She was going to give that son of hers a scolding for playing so deep in the woods. Who knows what could be living in these parts. She could see the trees opening up ahead of her. Sasuke had also started to slow down as he neared the clearing.

"Ka-san?" She almost fell out the tree when she heard someone near her. Her eldest son was looking at her perplexedly. She probably looked the same.

"Itachi?"

"What are you doing here?" He landed beside her.

"Checking on your brother. Lately I've been seeing something whenever he comes home." Understanding dawned on Itachi.

"Oh. Don't worry, Ka-san, Sasuke's fine," he reassured her. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"You know about this?" He nodded and motioned for her to follow him. Just outside the clearing, she and Itachi observed as Sasuke stood by a lone cherry blossom tree. He said something she couldn't make out, but she wondered who he was talking to. Then she noticed some movement behind the tree. A wolf rounded the trunk of the tree. Her breath caught in her throat as the creature sprinted toward her baby. She would have snatched Sasuke away from the beast if Itachi hadn't stopped her.

"Itachi! We have to-" Sasuke's innocent laughter pulled stunned her into silence. The wolf was nuzzling her little boy's face, who in turn had his arms wrapped around the creature's neck.

"Like I said, he's fine," Itachi said.

"What is that thing?" She's never seen anything like it.

"I'm not sure myself, but she's probably what you've been seeing the last few days. She walks Sasuke home every time he comes out here." They continued to watch as the two chased each other around the clearing. Mikoto couldn't help the thought that crossed her mind.

What gentle eyes.

A feral light glinted in her hardened eyes.

"Release me," she growled at the woman.

"Answer me," Karin spat back.

"I'll kill you," all around them, cherry blossoms were suspended in the air, as if time had stopped.

"What is this?" Karin said to herself, leaning away enough for Sakura to make her escape. Bringing an arm up, she slashed at her assailant's neck. Karin jumped back, but she felt the sting of her wound as blood dribbled out. Her hand reached up to staunch the flow. It wasn't deep but...

She could've killed me.

She watched as the other woman stood up, blood dripping from her nails. A wild and dangerous sneer marred her pretty face. She had bloodlust in her eyes. A tremor went through her body.

"What the fuck is going on?" Suigetsu shouted from the inn, rubbing his tired eyes.

"And who the fuck is she?" He said pointing at Sakura. His last words were muffled by another figure shooting into the clearing. Dust plumed from the crater at his feet.

"Kill," Juugo muttered repeatedly.

"Shit!" Suigetsu reached for his blade. Juugo leapt at him just as he grabbed the hilt. The blade was placed between them before Juugo's fist could meet with Suigetsu's face. The blow still sent him flying back until a tree broke his momentum. Disregarding him, Juugo scanned the area for his next victim.

"Kill," he ran full speed towards Sakura, who was the closest to him.

"Sakura, move!" She ignored Sasuke and starred Juugo down unflinchingly as he got closer. Juugo stopped abruptly a few feet away from her. A menacing pressure held him in place as he looked at her. Her face gave nothing away, but her eyes glinted with a promise of death.

"Sit down." Her words were clear with a dark undertone. His knees gave out on him and he sank to the ground. His body shuddered as the marks on his body receded.

"Holy shit, lady! What did you do to him?" Suigetsu shouted as he struggled to get on his feet.

"What is going on here?" The inn mistress demanded as the door slid open. "All this noise will disturb my other guests," she reprimanded.

"It was her-" Karin cut herself off when she turned back to the other woman, only to see the wolf again. Her nonsensical sputtering was ignored.

"Sakura-sama, is there a problem here?" She eyed the crater in the ground and the dent in one of the trees warily. Sakura shook her head calmly, which eased the woman's mind. Sakura-sama had everything under control.

"Just keep it down, dear. My guests are trying to sleep." She got a nod in return, which was her que to go back to bed. They listened to her footfalls until she was gone. Sasuke turned to Sakura.

"She doesn't know." Sakura nodded even though it wasn't a question.

"And the rest of the village..." She shook her head.

"Why?" Sakura let out a deep breath and twined a tail around his wrist. His pulse raced when he heard her in his head.

"It's more convenient for me if they don't know I can communicate with them. Less questions are asked."

"What are you, Sakura?" He repeated his question from before. Her eyes closed as her muzzle ran up his arm.

"We'll talk about this some other time," she pushed him towards the inn.

"You need rest, Sasuke. I'll watch over you tonight," she broke the connection and sat regally in front of the door. From his lying position inside, he was once again mesmerized. Her ivory fur glowed in the moonlight. Her tails swayed slowly, lulling him into sleep.

All I could think about when I was writing the "sit down" scene was Akashi from Kuroko no Basket XD. Great show by the way, you should watch it if you haven't seen it.
Fun fact: I'm not sure where I read this, but apparently Kishimoto planned for Sasuke and Sakura to end up together from the very beginning. I think it also said it had something to do with another manga he made where the main character was Sarutobi Sasuke who also had a companion named Sakura. So yay for us! It was meant to be right from the start!
