Chapter 10

"Well not that we didn't see this coming." Revan sighed, the rain hitting his hood.

"I still hoped that maybe we were wrong and we could catch them." Scourge sounded more disappointed then he did mad.

"I'm willing to bet they are long gone. And we were so close." Revan tried to put on an air of anger and disappointment. Though he was glad that his message had reached the smugglers in time.

"So do you have any ideas?" Scourge asked.

"Well I'll search the landing records maybe we will get lucky and they used a fake Landing Pass. If so then we can find who the dock worker is that is helping these arms smugglers."

"Would you like some assistance, Eruta?" Revan was taken back by Scourge's offer. It was not mockery or taunting him it was a genuine offer of help. He knew he couldn't jump on this to fast but he didn't want to turn him down ether.

Revan did his best not to act surprised but he didn't know how well he did. "Well this might take a while so lets do it in shifts. How about you come relieve me tonight and we'll notify the other when we find something."

"You know this is another thing of trust?" Scourge pursed his lips together his red mandibles bouncing with the movement.

"Yes but it goes both ways. You have to trust me to tell you if I find something and you tell me if you find something. We could easily screw the other over here."

Scourge thought about it for a long moment. "well I am going to track down some other leads, I will be back shortly to help you search, maybe then you will have a lead to follow up on."

"Good enough for me." Revan gave a nod and started heading toward the control tower for the space port, while Scourge went his own separate way. Revan wasn't sure if Scourge wasn't up to something but he had hoped that maybe just maybe he was starting to get through to him.

Or he was just lolling Revan into a false sense of security and was going to try and kill him. Both were just as possible.

Revan entered the walkway that overlooked the space port. The windows were big and gave a nice view of not only the space port but all of Kaas City. It was large as planet capitals go but when compared to the planet large cities in the core worlds of the Republic it paled in comparison.

Revan was almost to the tower control room putting on his tough Sith persona ready to start yelling and making threats when he stopped dead. He placed his face in the window trying to get a better look.

There on one of the landing platforms was his old ship the Ebon Hawk.

His worst fears had come true. Bastila must have tracked him down. Despite having T3 and HK whip their memories of where he was going and voice locking the Nava Computer. Though in retrospect their wedding date was probably not the best code and HK could easily mimic Revan's voice. Maybe he should be more surprised it had taken them this long.

Revan rushed back down almost sprinting. He didn't even bother to put his hood back up when he ran out into the rain. Part of him was so happy that Bastila was here, that he couldn't wait to see her. The other part of him was terrified that something would happen to her. All he knew right now was that he had to get to the Ebon Hawk as fast as possible.

A dock worker was punching in something to his data pad outside the ship. Revan reached over and grabbed him.

"What are you-" the worker started but stopped as soon as he saw who Revan was, then fear flooded his eyes. "Look they forced me to make a fake Landing Pass for them. They said they would kill me if I didn't do as they said."

"Who were they?" Revan was on the verge of shouting.

"A young looking woman and a man. They said they were here to sell some gems and that was it."

It must be Bastila and Carth. Who else would it be?

"Where are they going?" Revan shook the man a bit.

"I sent them to a man who could sell the gems and a place to stay."

Revan pulled out his data pad from his robes. "Any information that you gave them you give to me right now."

"Yes my lord." the worker fumbled around with his data pad for a moment his hands shaking so much he couldn't hit the right buttons. Revan might have over done it a bit but now was not the time for niceties. "There that's everything."

There was a beep as Revan received the data. "Good now this is important. Tell no one of this ship or the people on it for any reason. Is that understood?" the man quickly nodded. "Good, now lower the loading ramp and get out of here, and forget that you ever saw me or this ship."

"Yes my lord. Thank you my lord." the man hit another button on his data pad and the loading ramp started to lower. The man turned and took off. That was one advantage of being a sith. Doing that would have been much harder in the Republic.

Revan took a breath before walking up the familiar ramp. He had gone up this ramp so many times that he had lost count yet now it felt like this was his first. The ship was darker then he remembered it, and there was scaring and patchwork on the walls.

The Ebon Hawk looked liked it had been though a lot in the past two years. Revan placed his hand on the latter leading up to the turret controls. Memories of him fending off a squadron of Sith fighters came to mind. That all seems like so long ago now. So much has happened.

Revan started to move to the map room and work his way up to the cockpit when he heard the distinct sound of metal feet on metal.

"Threat: If you don't want your organic meat bag matter to splatter across the ship I would suggest staying where you are."

Revan couldn't help but smile at the sound of the robotic voice. Revan slowly turned his hands in the air. "Is that really any way to talk to your master?"

The seven foot tall robot holding the large blaster rifle actually looked stunned. "Genuine Surprise: Master is that you? Or do my photo receptors deceive me?"

Revan lowered his hands and gave a nod. "Yeah HK it's me."

"Declaration: Oh master it is so good to see you again. Disappointed: My current masters have no appreciation for my assassination protocols. And I fear that they do not make the best use of an assassination droid of my skills. Mockery: HK stay and guard the ship. HK let all your higher protocols go to waist while we go out and terminate organic meat bags."

Revan had to stop himself form laughing. "I am happy that time has not changed your behavior core."

"Disturbed Statement: not due to the constant medaling with my current masters. Unbelieving statement: can you imagine that they tried to put a pacifist core into my program?"

Before Revan could respond there was a familiar beeping sound behind him. Revan tuned to see T3 rolling up to him.

"T3! Wow look at you. You and HK both look like you have been sent through the trash compacter. A few times."

There were some explanatory beeps from the astromech droid.

"Statement: It is true that I and my smaller counterpart have only recently reached our original higher programming. Chiding Statement: Though I think that is mostly his fault and not mine."

T3 gave some angry beeps.

"Explanation: I am aware that I was going to disobey Master's orders and go looking for him. And I am grateful that you help put me back together after but that is no reason to disintegrate me."

"Alright both of you enough." Revan raised his hands. "I need to find Carth and Bastila. Once I do that you two can tell me everything that has happened."

"Confused Statement: Master Both of those particular meat bags are somewhere in the Republic. I fear that if you wish to find them you will have to leave here first."

Revan frowned. That couldn't be. "Then who is it that came here?"

"Statement: Our current meat bag of a master is the former General of the Madalorian Wars Meetra Surik and her stumbling fool she calls a companion Atton Rams."

T3 gave a few defensive beeps in defense of what HK said but Revan wasn't paying much attention. Meetra Surik. Why would she be here? Last he had heard she had lost her connection to the force and been exiled from the Jedi order. And who was this person traveling with her. It was not a name that he was familiar with. Maybe someone from the Jedi.

Revan turned to HK. "HK I know this is hard for you but I need you to stay here."

"Assuring statement: Oh master I understand completely. Request: I do ask though when you terminate my current master that you bring them here as to allow me to watch. Anticipation: I look forward to your return master and then maybe I can commence in some mass slaughter. Quick Clarification: With master's permission of course."

"Don't ever change HK." Revan gave T3 a pat on its head and ran off down the loading ramp and into the rain. He pulled out his data pad and finally looked at where the two were heading. Revan was shocked at one of the things he saw. Why had the Dock Worker sent them to go see Tallness?
