Gray's POV
8:18 pm
Rolling onto my side, a yawn escaped my mouth as arms were outstretched and legs recoiling in. I blinked as I lay in my bed, thoughts ran through my mind. Shaking my head, I sighed without much thought at the memories of earlier today.
"Lyon… now you suddenly…" Hands clenching into fists and my body tense, I shut my eyes in hopes to control my temper.
My steps were as quick as they could go. Soccer got out later than hoped and I told Juvia I would walk her halfway home after her swim practice. My eyes scanned my phone screen and I hurried a little more. I turned to make it to the main gate, but he stood where I usually did.
"Lyon?!"
His silver haired head turned with perplexity, but soon adjusted accordingly. He gave a light nod along with a semi-smile, semi-smirk. My steps grew slower and slightly shorter, but I still continued towards him. I turned to find Juvia, but the bluenette wasn't anywhere near her beloved water. "What are you doing here?"
Damn… came off colder than anticipated.
"To hang out with Juvia." He replied coolly, eyes now fixated up ahead, maybe into the pool.
I scoffed, "Really now?" A chuckle slithered past my lips and into the cool autumn air.
Lyon shot me a look and muttered, "I haven't stopped caring for her. She is still my-"
"What? Best friend?" I sneered sarcastically.
Lyon stared at me coldly before hissing out, "Yes, my best friend, nothing has changed that." His coal eyes now like icicles.
My eyes rolled while my arms crossed across my chest and my eyes scanned him. "As if she is your best friend, all you have been doing for the past month is hang out with Lucy."
Lyon opened his mouth, but I far from finished.
"Did you ever consider that Juvia might miss you? You are, well, were super close to her. But suddenly, you go off with Lucy like it is cool and think that it is fine that you come in to the picture again. I have been with Juvia because she is better than I thought, but you cannot say you are her best friend any longer!"
Lyon nodded absorbing my words, "And what are you trying to say here? I am no longer her best friend?"
"Exactly."
"She is still mine. I have not been ignoring her at all. In fact we still talk during classes and sometimes in between classes, not to mention I have known her longer. I know almost everything about her because we have been friends that long, as years go by the closer you grow. The closer you grow, the more you trust each other, if Juvia really needs me, she will tell me. I don't need my own brother who has not even attempted engaging in a conversation with his so called friend, I mean, who you claim is your best friend."
My eyes went wide. Lyon was right. He did still talk to Juvia, he never stopped. He just didn't hang out with her as much. He was making a new friend. He wasn't stealing Luce at all; in fact, he was not taking her away. I was pushing her away.
… I was….
I'm…
…pushing…
…her…
away….
My eyes glazed over to the pool, I shut them tightly and sighed. "Fuck you, Lyon."
"You too." He mumbled, I heard the smirk in his tone. After a short silence, he spoke again, "Tomorrow, eat lunch with her. She misses you too, you know."
With that he waved, "I'm getting Juvia, you can join if you want, I will wait for three minutes after she gets out."
I stared at the ceiling while staring at my hands with a scowl and puffed out air. My eyes seemed to go over each finger just as I heard a buzz. My head turned to my phone, without another thought I reached over and brought it close. Unlocking the screen, my eyes widened at the message.
I sat up quickly and stared down at the message for the longest time.
Hi…
It was from Lucy.
My heart stopped as my breathing slowed down. Lucy had texted me, I stood up and grinned for the longest. I fell back and laughed for a moment. My eyes closed, should I even respond though?
My eyes opened, of course I should, it is the polite thing to do. I stared at the message again; I am the one pushing her away.
The sudden urge hit me, with extreme force. I balled my fists up and rubbed my eyes trying to force it all back. I remember during lunch last week, she walked up to me and tried to start a conversation, but I brushed her off. I grew jealous of Lyon because I thought he was trying to take Lucy. I was being an idiot, a fucking fool for assuming that she was leaving me. A few weeks ago she called me; I ignored it because I was with Natsu. He told me to take it, I just let it ring. I didn't even text an excuse. I am such a dick. Some fucking best friend I am, last week, she saw that I wasn't looking all too good. I shrugged her away saying I was fine.
Lyon was so fucking right.
I was at fault too.

8:47 pm
Juvia slurped away at her noodles and took a humble bite of her eggroll. Lyon smiled softly at the girl and noticed his phone buzz in his jacket. He took it out and then glanced over at Juvia. "One second," his finger was held out as he placed his phone to his ear with his other hand.
Juvia nodded as she ate her food quietly.
"Hey, I'm gonna call you back, okay?"
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?!" Lyon hands released his phone as he rubbed his ear.
His other hand quickly grabbed his phone once more and then screamed, "ULTEAR!"
He then pushed up from the table and mouthed, I am so sorry. A startled Juvia nodded and waved her friend away to take care of his business. Lyon sighed and walked out of the shop.
"LYON, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Her screeching made him want to take her throat out.
"I am eating noodles with Juvia." Lyon calmly replied.
"Oh, how fucking nice… but you told me you'd meet me at the college auditorium around, 8:30. It is almost a whole 20 minutes past."
Lyon rolled his eyes at her attitude, but he growled lowly. "I will be there around 9:15. I still don't know why I agreed to help you with your stupid set up again…"
Her voice became soft, "Enjoy your date with Juvia, but you better be here. Or else I will personally ring you up by your ears."
"Uh-huh, okay, well, I'll see you later."
Lyon rubbed his temples in frustration and soon walked back in to see his bluenette staring outside the window. He sat back across from her and noticed she was basically done. He smiled and stood taking her trash along with his own. Juvia slightly jumped not even realizing he had come back. She smiled at him and stood giving a stretch.
The two soon exited and walked out talking once more staring at the sky. Lyon's eyes staring at the stars as he basked in this sweet moment, while his heart was churning with joy. Juvia's smile comparable to the stars as her sea blue eyes shone with the very same intensity as the burning ball of gas, violent and determined to burn, yet as beautiful as a masterpiece. His Juvia danced a bit in front of him and giggled talking about everything she could.
This was their moment.
A beautiful moment… short lived…

9:06 pm
Lyon stared deeply into Juvia's eyes as soon as she turned to thank him. Her breath hitched in her throat as her voice soon squeaked and faded. Onyx met with ocean blue. His eyes sparked with joy and love, her eyes curiously gazing into his with wonderment and utter delight. Breaking the silence, Lyon cleared his throat and grinned.
"I want to do this again Juvia, what do you say?"
Juvia nodded vigorously, "Juvia would… Juvia would love to." A gentle smile spread on her lips.
Lyon was delighted by her response and bid a quick farewell. Juvia waved with a bright smile.
He spun around and cheerfully walked away, his eyes glanced to his phone to check the time. Sighing, he rushed as fast as he could, hating and loathing his older sister by the second. But, he was quite relatable to her, she was in love with one of her closest friends, Zeref was his name. It was quite a spectacle to see, a grown woman such as herself acting like a giggling school girl, and trying to get close to a guy. She was one of the most composed people he knew. And now he was running to help her set up for a play that her precious Zeref is taking part of.
Rolling his eyes, he mumbled, "She needs to just tell him."
And you are one to talk… he inwardly scolded himself.
"I will tell Juvia, I will tell her one of these days. I swear that she will know before we graduate." He swore to himself and almost tripped in the process. He just looked down and laughed, he was happy.
He was truly happy.
Happiness felt so good, he wanted to relish it more so.
One day he would be happy, and it wouldn't just last for mere moments, it would last longer than that.

Juvia's POV
Juvia could just scream with joy! Her heart is full of excitement and happiness! Lyon is finally back, he wants to be with Juvia more now, just like before! Juvia must stop leaning against the door, take in a deep breath now.
Juvia is just so happy and her heart is aching with life. Juvia has missed Lyon so much; she has wished to talk with Lyon for more than one class or during passing periods. But Lyon is always with Love Rival now…
Love Rival… She tries to steal both Gray-sama and Lyon! Juvia cannot allow Love Rival to have both! Juvia loves Gray-sama! Gray-sama saved Juvia, he rescued Juvia… he is Juvia's sunshine. Juvia is beet red now thinking about her future with Gray-sama! Love Rival had already taken Gray-sama, and now she wants Lyon. Juvia will not give up without a fight! Lyon is Juvia's!
Juvia means, he is her best friend, Juvia's best friend. Juvia needs him more than Love Rival does. Love Rival has many friends; Juvia does not have as much as Love Rival. Juvia needs Lyon. Juvia wants and hopes Love Rival will see that soon…

Lyon's POV
9:15pm
I approached the theater while glancing at the time, I smirked. "Ha, I made it!" My steps were soon cut short as I noticed the lights were off, my body slightly shook for a moment. The air was so cool, the streets empty and the dark. Perfect setting for a scary movie in my opinion, but I wasn't a little kid. Jumping, at the vibration in my phone, I inwardly cursed myself for being paranoid. I slide my screen and placed it to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Lyon… are you at the theater?"
"I am, why?" My eyes shut in frustration.
"Well, I headed home. I decided to wait till the weekend."
"What the fuck?! Ultear, I literally hauled ass over here and now you tell me you decided to wait-"
The line went dead. My sister hung up. She literally hung up on me… that freaking bitch! Ugh, I hate her now. She is the devil, it is official, and she is satan in a female form. I ended my night with Juvia for her, and this is what she does to me! The nerve of her, I swear one of these days I will personally get her good. Like maybe toy with her crush and her, no, she could tell Juvia if I did that.
Damn her… she has the upper hand her.
Sighing to myself, I rushed by through the darkness and cursed, "If I am murdered it is Ultear's fault." My eyes were cast down when I flew backwards onto my backside, what a shock, huh? I glanced up with anger in my now narrowed eyes, but that soon faded once a glimpse of hot pink hair was caught in the street light. I only knew two people with that hair color.
"Lyon?"
Startled by my name being said, I nodded and scooted back.
"Lyon!" Suddenly, my whole body was engulfed in a warm embrace. "I haven't seen you in over a year! Ah, love~"
Yup, it is Sherry after all. Sherry was a friend since almost as long as Juvia. She had a huge crush on me, but it was soon crushed when I told her I only had my eyes on Juvia. She wasn't as persistent as her cousin Shelia, who I think is still in love with me. But it wasn't until Ren came along and basically swept her off her feet. They aren't official yet, but I am positive it will happen.
"Nice to see you too, Sherry. You are still saying love I see." My reply was breathy because she was squeezing the life from me.
"Oh, I don't say it as often! Not since I got together with Ren, he is my love~!" Her arm flew off me and she swayed with her eyes closed. A smile flew onto her face, well a bigger smile. She then looked back upon me, "Now, Lyon, what is happening? You are here studying or what?!"
I shook my head, "I am actually living back at home now." I chuckled, "And even going to school with Gray again."
Her face full of puzzlement, "Are you really?"
My head shook, "Sadly."
Another hug, "That is great!" Now she was giving the death grip hold. Snuggling her face into mine and holding tighter than she should.
Gasping for much needed air, I called, "Sher-ry… you-you need… to… release….me…."
Quickly, her arms retracted and she pouted, "Sorry, Lyon. I was just so excited and happy and, ugh! I missed you, okay?"
I nodded and smiled, "Well, I have missed you too and the whole gang honestly. I should get going or else I will get murdered by my mother." Standing and dusting myself off, I waved at Sherry.
"Give me your number first!" She suddenly demanded.
I laughed at her scrunched up nose and eyebrows, but complied with her request.
I guess today ended nicely.

Gray's POV
9:31 pm
My thumbs carefully went away and finally responded. I wouldn't be surprised if she was fast asleep by now. I sighed, I was truly an idiot. I let myself get blinded by my own ignorance and pride and hurt one of the people I cared most about. How can I be such an idiot?
You would expect this from Natsu or Elfman, but me, Gray Fullbuster? No. Never.
Yet, here was where the sad and cruel reality of it all came together and twisted away. Here I am, completely dumbfounded by my own foolishness and my own idiotic ways. This was my fault and mine alone. A tint of his, a little of hers, but I was thinking I was the only victim. I was here assuming I was the only one hurting.
My cold hand rushed to my forehead as I stood up and my feet shuffled out. Once I was in the bathroom, I slammed the door shut and washed my hands. Rubbing the water on my face, my eyes looked deeply into my reflection. Calm, cool, Fullbuster, that was me. But…
I'm far from being that me.
Words cannot describe all of these feelings inside that are bursting forth and twisting around within me. I wanted to scream and to yell. I wanted to punch something, anything! Break something, pick a fight! I felt this urge to let it all out of my system, but everything was so hard. Damnit, why couldn't it be Lyon?! Why did I have to end up in the popular position? Why me?
I can't always handle the watching eyes. Those gossiping lips and rumor filled ears. I can't always make the right moves and not be judged for every single thing I do. Does no one understand this pressure?! Doesn't anyone realize it is a hard spot to play?!
Nobody gets it…
They don't comprehend the difficulty of it all…
No one does…
My eyes stared back at myself and I looked away in utter disgust. "I am no one anymore. I hurt the ones I love most."
9:50 pm
My body was weary. Without another step closer, I fell onto my bed with heavy eyes. I glanced at my phone and checked for a text. Instead I noticed I had almost ten missed calls. All were from Lucy.
My finger swiped my screen and then my hand brought it to my ears. I let it ring a bit as I dozed off a little. I assumed it was going to voicemail, but I heard her lovely angelic voice. But, she sounded upset and sad, her voice cracked as if she were about to cry.
"H-Hello?"
"Luce?" I sat up with concern.
"Oh… h-hi Gray," was the shaky reply I received.
Now, my attention was captured and I was fully awake. "Lucy, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, why do you think something is?"
I scowled at the wall, "Bullshit." I slid my shoes on, "What happened?" Standing, my body readied to leave.
"I-I… I relapsed… I'm so sorry, Gray."
My whole world just stopped. Everything ached and burned and sizzled and hurt and agonized inside of me. My hand released the phone from my grasp; I trembled as her words repeated in my mind. My teeth sunk into my bottom lip while my hands reached for my phone once more.
"Where are you? What room?" I hissed out bitterly.
She was breathing heavily and was almost sobbing, "My….my bath…bathroom…"
"I'm on my way. You stay still and don't you dare do anything more, okay?"
Silence for over twenty seconds.
"Okay?!"
Silence for almost ten seconds, "Okay…"
"I will be there for you like I promised you."
"Gray…" she sounded so weak and helpless.
"Yes," I was rushing down the stairs.
"I'm sorry."
I stopped in front of the door, "I'm sorry too." Then I ran past Lyon and straight to Lucy's. She needed me more than ever.

9:45 pm
There she held her razor to her thigh and lightly hissed as the sharp edge gently tore her flesh open. Red stains soon dropped upon the white tile and clear liquid dripped from her face. Pain of this razor could not compare to the pain that ached within her heart. Another slice to her milky skin allowed crimson tears to drip from her legs.
Another slice and another cut.
Another open wound like those that lied in her heart, lied in her soul, that was tearing open her mind, and ripping her apart.
Another torn piece of flesh freshly ripped apart.
Her chocolate orbs simply stared in wonderment at these wounds and her hands trembled. No! No! No! Shaking her head, she no longer wished to believe what she had done. But the red staining her hands and that look of a sick pleasure at her handy work she saw in her mirror let the twisted reality sink in.
Tears flowing freely from her once pure eyes, now full of pain and misery she stared down at the cuts. I let it get out of hand… I went back to it… no… not… again... More hate filled her heart as she stared in disgust at herself. "You ugly cutter," she hissed at herself and narrowed her eyes.
Hand steady and had slithered back around that oh so pretty steel razor, she prepared another place to destroy her beautiful skin.
His ringtone entered her ears.
The razor fell and her voice cried with life.
"Gray!"

And the world slipped from their grasp. Sharp edges flew and cut them like glass. They did not cry, but instead they stayed strong. Together they fought, dying arm in arm.
