Chapter 14
Lord Vosif let the water beat his skin clean. He washed away all the sweat from his training while he thought about what Sechel had told him. He wasn't sure what to make of it all, but he knew that if his brother was bringing this to him then Sechel must be convinced that it was real, and that was reason enough to look into it. Though there was nothing he could do this night. He would look into it in the morning and see if he could find any validity to what Sechel had said.
Vosif sighed as he turned off the water and stepped out of the shower reaching for his towel. "Don't just stand there Talima." he was looking strait ahead but he could still see the Twi'lek standing in the door way to the bathroom.
"Sorry my lord I just didn't want to disturb you." her voice was sincere but false. Vosif knew that she had been testing to see if he would notice her. While she may have been a slave she was still an assassin, so it was only natural for her to try and figure out ways to kill him. If she didn't then she would be of no use to him and he would have to kill her and get a new one.
Vosif finished drying off his well toned red skin and let the towel drop to the floor not bothering with modesty. "Just tell me what you came to tell Me." he walked through the door way into his room. Talima stepped out of the way and followed close behind as he walked.
"Your street merchant sent you a message."
"Is that right?" Vosif was reaching for his night attire but decided to wait to see what this was about before getting changed. He turned and faced Talima. "And what did that message say?"
"That there is something that you will be interested in. That it might have something to do with your last mission and you should meet with him as soon as you can at your normal spot."
Vosif smiled. He often got information from this street vender. While Vosif suspected that he was in fact no food vender he had not pressed into the matter. That was the unspoken agreement that he had with the man. Vosif would leave him alone as long as he notified him on anything of importance.
Though Vosif did have to wonder if Tallness knew about Vosif's last mission through his older brother, if his brother had learned it from Tallness, or if they both had found out on their own. But it was highly unlikely that two people so good at finding out information didn't know each other.
Vosif moved over to his dresser pulling out his day clothing and started dressing himself as he talked. "Send a reply telling him that his message was received and I will be there as soon as possible."
"Right away master." Vosif could hear Talima pressing buttons on her data pad.
Vosif waited until the beeping sounds stopped before moving on. He never wanted to admit how much he actually deepened on her to do normal every day work. He needed her to just read his own messages, and she knew that he needed her and she used that too her advantage whenever she could. Vosif admired that about her. She knew her place but that did not stop her from using what power she had.
There was deep trust between the two. Vosif had to trust that Talima was in fact giving him reliable information and in no way trying to manipulate him and in return she had to trust that nothing that she said while relaying said information would cost her, her life. It was the only way that it could work.
"Would you like for me to get your shuttle ready then, or will you be going out on foot?"
Vosif had to think about that for a moment. Traveling around in a shuttle at this time of night might draw unwanted attention to himself but at the same time this information might be time sensitive. "Ready my shuttle I don't want to be wasting any time."
"Right away my lord." Talima gave a quick bow and started to punch more buttons on her data pad.
Talia was a red Twi'lek and he had been told by all who saw her that she was very beautiful but being blind he wouldn't know. All he could see was the energy that she gave off and that in and of itself was beautiful. There was something about her that glowed differently then anyone else he had met. It was almost like her energy hummed. And he found that hum soothing. There were even times when he was off world that he found he could not sleep out of missing the sound.
Not that he would ever tell her that.
Fully dressed Vosif attached his lightsaber to his belt and headed for the door. "Alert the rest of the team and have them on stand by." he ordered as he left. "I might need their help depending on what Tallness has to say."
