Chapter 15
"Hello ladies." Atton looked the two Twi'lek girls over as he walked to the bar.
"Atton really?" Meetra hit him in the chest again. "We are supposed to be married."
"Hey since we started traveling together the closest thing I have gotten to a woman's companionship was when those two Twi'lek assassins who tried to seduce me to find you."
Meetra was about to say something in response but nothing she could think to say could possibly counter such an argument.
"Besides I wouldn't even if they offered." Atton smiled.
"And why is that?"
He frowned at her. "You mean you haven't noticed?"
"Noticed what?"
Atton pointed to one of the Twi'leks. "Those collars that they are wearing are not a fashion statement. Those are shock collars. Worn by slaves to keep them in line."
Meetra was shocked. How could she have not noticed that? Was she so preoccupied with her own misfortune that she no longer noticed the suffering of others? Or was it just she had decided to ignore any and all of that to help keep their cover? Ether way she was ashamed of herself.
They reached the bar and sat down on one of the stools. People were constantly pushing into them vying for one of the bartenders' attention. Atton and Meetra calmly sat in their seats, Meetra reached out with the force and touched one of the Bartender's minds, compelling him to want to come and help them. The blue skin alien turned and walked up to them.
"Is there something that I can do for you two." the man asked. His red eyes made it impossible to know where he was really looking.
Meetra leaned in to make sure that she could be heard over the noise. "Yes we would like a room please."
The blue alien looked the two of them over. "You're not from around here are you?"
"We just want a room." Atton said. "And we like the no question policy that this place is known for."
The alien gave a nod of understanding. "Well in that case who am I to question." he reached for the wall behind him and pulled out a card key. "I can give you a nice room on the third floor near a window that leads to the street." he held out the card to Atton.
"That sounds perfect." Atton reached out to take the card, but the alien pulled it back.
"That will be two hundred Imperial Coins if you don't mind."
Meetra reached inside her shirt and pulled out the necessary coin making sure not to show off how much money they actually had. No need to make themselves a target.
Meetra handed him the money and the alien gave them the key card with a smile. "Have a pleasant stay."
They both gave a nod and walked away from the bar. Meetra in the lead they worked their way through the crowd of people, past the shady deals, and the small booths with closed curtains. They took the lift to the third floor and found their room.
To Meetra's relief the card actually worked as the light turned green and the door slid open.
"Alright we are here, we have money and a place to stay." Atton walked into the room and closed the shutters over the window. He turned around and looked at her. "Now how do we find Revan?"
Meetra sat on the single bed and rubbed her face. It was hard for her to find her center on this world. It was teaming with dark side energy and it seemed to be keeping her off balance. "I really don't know." she admitted. "Up until now we have been following the trail that Revan left behind but I don't know where we should look now that we are here. We don't even know if he is still on this planet."
"You would think we would be naturals at finding Jedi in hiding on large populated worlds by now." Atton sat down beside Meetra. "After all we did it three times."
"If you look at those events we never actually found the Jedi ourselves." Meetra took off her cloak and let it fall to the bed. "Dantooine the Administrator told us where to look. On Onderon Degon Gent knew who the Jedi was. And on Nar Shada we were looking into the Exchange and Zez Kai Ell found us."
"Can you use the force to try and locate him?" Atton followed Meetra's example and took off his cloak.
Meetra shook her head and started working on taking off her boots… "First I don't have those kinds of skills in the force. Visas maybe but not me. Second this place is full of force sensitives and Sith Lords. There is no way for me to distinguish one from another."
Atton stood up and walked to a hanger putting his cloak on it. "What about the sight thing that Visas taught you?"
Meetra frowned. "What about it?"
"Well," Atton took off his coat and hung it over his cloak. "how I see it Revan is still a Jedi and draws on the light side correct."
Meetra nodded. "If the stories are true and he turned away from the dark side then yes."
Atton came and sat back down on the bed. "And as this is a Sith Planet then it is safe to assume that every one here draws on the dark side."
Meetra saw where he was getting at. "And as the sight shows me the light and dark side of the force I just need to look for the one person in the crowd that is shining blue and not red."
Atton smiled. "That was my thought at least."
"I would still have to be close to him in order for that to work but get me above a crowed and I would be able to pick him out immediately."
Atton gave a nonchalant shrug. "See this is why you bring me along."
"And here I thought it was because I don't know how to fly a ship."
"Well that too."
