Tamara ran as fast as she her legs could carry her. She had hoped to see the man, or rather, entity, who was always with her. She wanted to hold him again, to tell him she loves him, to tell him she was sorry.
She had arrived to the well-known house of the Grim Reaper. She was excited and nervous. She didn't know if Grim would want to take her back. Most terrifying of all, she was afraid that her children would hate her for leaving them alone like this.
'What if he found someone else?' Tamara thought as she reached out to knock.
Although she was filled with fear, she had just the right amount of courage to land three sounding knocks on the door.
At first, silence filled the air. Tamara raised her fist to knock again, but stopped when she heard someone opening the door. She knew it was Grim since there were no sounds of footsteps. Tamara readied herself to see her ex-husband, and hoped to patch everything that was broke. She wasn't sure of their future, she was regretful of their past, but she knew the present was something that would decide their future, and leave the past behind.
"Tamara?" Grim questioned as he stared at the person he had fallen head over heels since they met.
It was a rule that Grim Reaper wasn't supposed to fall in love with anyone. But he had long broken the rule in his immortal life.
"Why are you here?" she tried to rake up an answer before realizing he wasn't in the family home.
"Where are April, May and June?" she was worried, it wasn't like Grim to leave the triplets on their own.
It wasn't obvious, but Grim had lowered his head in shame, he didn't want to make things harder than they already are.
"I left them." simple as that, Tamara couldn't think.
Grim then explained that he thought maybe if he left, then the triplets would have a mother again, like they always wanted. He hasn't heard them say it in person to him, but he has heard their private night secrets. They always wanted a mother. They never knew theirs, but they wanted to know how it felt like to live with a mother.
All they had said hurt Grim deeper than a knife cut, not that he can die, he can still feel the pain.
Tamara teared up. She never knew she had hurt the triplets, she never knew they wanted her there. She assumed they would just forget everything and she could move on just like everyone else. But that wasn't true.
This is happening, right now. She wasn't there for her other half, she wasn't there for her flesh-and-blood.
"We can change that, everything changes now." Grim looked at his ex-wife, a non-visible smile under his hood.

"June, have you found where dad is?" May asked, she was very worried about his whereabouts.
People had actually hunted him down once before, whose to say it won't happen again?
Just then, April burst into the room with her cellphone in her hand. She had tears running down her face and she held a smile on her face.
"It's dad, he called. He said he'll come right back with mom." at the mention of their mother, April burst into tears and knelt down with her hands covering her face.
They were finally going to meet their mother, who was coming back with their father. They were going to be a family again...

She never knew how much she had missed him, until now.
With her head on his shoulder as he rode them home, Grim Reaper couldn't be more happier to reunite with his family. To be reunited with the one he had fallen in a forbidden love with.
"I love you." that was all Tamara needed to say to reassure Grim she wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon.
