Akisame ordered for them both so that he could get the ball rolling again.
Realizing that he'd messed up big a few minutes ago and though he had apologized to Hanna for his mistake, he knew that she was dwelling on his words and wasn't likely to truly forgive him anytime too soon. So instead of dredging her past history up further and upsetting her even more- he opted for the lesser of two evils.
Continuing the date.
The two of them sat in relative silence while they waited for their food which took about ten to fifteen minutes to make and be brought to them and laid out on the table where he was sitting with a small sake cup in his hand staring at Hanna. Whom had retreated to the other side of the room to where the little pond was. Once everything was in place and out of the way, his friend grasped his hand and pressed a lovely snow white peony with soft pink around the tips of the petals into it and whispered, "You've almost killed the mood. Give her the flower and try not to stick your foot in your mouth again." Then quickly left.
Making Akisame feeling somewhat offended even as he twisted half around to glare at his friend as he practically slithered out the door like a little eel. Leaving him alone again with Hanna, and far too many unspoken apologies, and a deeply rooted fear that perhaps he had ruined things between them before he could even truly get to know her.
Looking down at the flower he'd been handed, he noted with some faint sense of irony that it was a shockingly white peony. How like his friend to take Hanna's measure and come to the conclusion that this particular flower would suite her. Both in beauty and in purity.
His lips quirking a bit at the corners, Akisame smiled faintly at his own musings as he somehow managed to stand up without a sound and then moved across the room to where she was and while she wasn't really paying attention- threaded the flower through her hair, behind her ear and then stepped back as he noticed the subtle tensing of her slender shoulders under her top.
Reaching up, she lightly touched the flower almost as if questioning what he had just done and upon finding the cool petals of the bloom under her fingertips- seemed to come to a decision about something before saying, "Okay, I can let earlier's comment slide- And I can even go through with the rest of this date. But...there's no real reason too. I'll marry you but you have to put up with a few rules I have if you really want too-" Her voice trailed off a bit as he waited patiently to see what rules she had for him. "One is that you'll have to meet my parents and siblings. This is non negotiable. Two is that I get to finish school. This is also non negotiable since the time I have left in school could be best used to better get to know one another. Three is..."
It was at this point that Akisame decided to stop her, figuring that whatever it was she had to say could be addressed later on.
"Whoa! Hold up there," Reaching out he brushed his fingertips along the skin of her cheek in a gentle caress and tried not to feel a bit hurt when she tensed up again and twitched under his touch. "There will be plenty of time to lay down some ground rules for this relationship. Besides...I may have some rules of my own. But right now-" He said as he gently took one of her hands in his and helped her up, his mind already going over the possibilities of her decision and planning ahead to the next step as he led her back to the table which was now covered with foods of all kinds.
Right now they still had to finish their first date and then he needed to go home and report to the elder and the other masters just what had transpired between them.
