While Amy was being interviewed, a portal opened up in Tokyo, at the base of Toyko Tower.
Back in the land of the Five Hundred Kingdoms, a serving girl had heard Amy wishing in her room, and after the silence from the disappearance of Amy, the King and Queen had their guards break down the door, and revealed the lack of princess.
Then they got their Royal Sorcerer and Sorceress to determine where Amy had disappeared.
Their investigations revealed that Amy was alive, and a tracking spell had opened up a small portal, about the size of a worm [A.k.a a wormhole], which closed itself one second later.
Further investigation revealed that the portal would only be stable in certain areas, and the closest area was the center of Londinium.
Secondly, the portal would require a large investiture of power, and so, multiple mages were called on to participate in making the portal.

I've had this plot point of the stable portal for a while now... It's been ~2 years... Might as well give it out, so people can make fanfics about interdimensional travel. And this wouldn't be much of a 500 Kingdoms fanfic without the Tradition... So, that's gonna come up... Once a longer-lasting portal has been made. ... And this process of deduction to make a stable portal in Londinium is missing out on a lot, which needs to be discovered first... ... But there will be portals!
... And a eavesdropping or overhearing castle servant. I'm presuming it's a maid for now. But it will exist in the final version of this, if I ever get around to making it... Instead of making an Original Fic version or something...
