A load of random one shots with what if moments that I dreamed up. In all of these Troy and Gabriella are dating and no one knows.
That's My Boyfriend!
In the Summer after Senior Year. Gabriella took a summer internship in a cafe in LA. It was day to day and never evening. It was there she meet her boyfriend Troy. However she knew Troy as he had gone to her high school. But also the whole word knew him. Him and three of his friend been signed to a massive record deal in the city LA just after they had graduated. They were a world wide phenomenon within six months.
After summer, Gabriella went to Stanford to do her cookery course. Despite the long difference the couple stayed together.
Four years later, Gabriella finished her course but had to head back to Albuquerque to spend time with her mother. She tried to find a job there but after six months she moved out to LA to live with Troy in the bands house. She got a job at the same cafe she had interned at four summers before. Two months later her and Troy had bought a house. It was now five years on from graduation. She worked, cooked and does the laundry. Well they both share but she likes doing it.
Today was the day her past was coming to meet her but she didn't know.
It was a lovely sunny evening and as Gabriella arrived home she remembered that some contest winners were going to be at the house. The contest had been to meet Rebound at Troy's newly bought home (because it was nicer than the band house even if it wasn't that newly bought.) One person could apply and bring two friends.
So when she looked out of the kitchen window she was surprise and shocked to see her old high school friends Sharpay, Taylor and Kelsi.
She knew Taylor and Kelsi weren't that bothered as they were sat talking but Sharpay was all over Troy like a rash.
Troy knew Gabriella was home as he heard the car in drive and the front door slam and wonders why she hasn't come out. After excusing himself he went to find her but couldn't.
He went back out and then minutes later spotted her when she came back in the kitchen and went in to see her.
"Hey you coming outside?" asked Troy.
"In a min. Are they all staying for tea?" she asked.
"Yes what's up?" asked Troy, knowing something was wrong.
"They're my old friends," sighed Gabriella. "I haven't come out cuz Sharpay has been all over you like a rash."
"I don't want her I want you," whispered Troy, wrapping his arms around her and holding her close.
"I know you know how I get," she whispered.
"Yeah your insecurities show. I have something that might cool those," smiled Troy, leading her upstairs.
He entered the bedroom and she followed.
"Go stand on the balcony and out of sight," said Troy.
As she went outside Troy walked over to his sock drawer and pulled out a pair of socks. He unbundled them and drew out a small black velvet box. From in that box he pulled out a sliver ring with a solitary diamond on it. Then he went to the balcony.
"So what do you have?" asked Gabriella.
"I love you," said Troy. " I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. If you'll have me? So will you marry me?" asked Troy from where he was stood next to her.
Gabriella nodded a smile on her face and tears in her eyes.
Troy slid the ring on her finger and kissed her.
"Come on let's go face them," said Troy.
"Together?" asked Gabriella.
"Together," smiled Troy lacing their fingers together.
"I fancy ribs for tea," said Gabriella, as they walked down the stairs.
"With everything?" asked Troy.
Gabriella nodded.
"Do you want to get those on and then come out?" asked Troy.
"See if their all ok with it first. I know the guys will be but Sharpay used to be picky," sighed Gabriella.
"Hey you're marrying me and I want you. I'm by your side and you can also come and hide in the kitchen," smiled Troy.
"There you two are I've left Chad and Jason with them. I don't think it should be that way for long," said Zeke.
"We're coming out now. Their Gab's old friends she's a bit apprehensive about meeting them again," said Troy.
"When did you last see them?" asked Zeke.
"When we graduated I think," said Gabriella. "We all went of to college for four years never saw each other kept meaning to but didn't. Then Sharpay got a job in New York after she had finished college as did Kelsi. Taylor got a job in Washington and I went back to Albuquerque," explained Gabriella.
"So five years?" asked Troy.
Gabriella nodded.
"You guys better get back out there they'll think your avoiding them," said Gabriella.
"Your coming," said Troy.
"Yeah to find out who wants ribs for tea," said Gabriella.
"I will need any help?" asked Zeke.
"I might after I find out," said Gabriella.
"Right time to bite the bullet babe," said Troy.
Gabriella nodded and stepped out onto the patio after Zeke and Troy.
To say Sharpay, Taylor and Kelsi were shocked to see their former high school friend step out behind America's heartthrob was an understatement, their jaws almost hit the floor.
But as their jaws hit the floor Gabriella turned round and fled back inside. She just couldn't face them.
Troy and Zeke sat back down and Troy turned to pull Gabriella down with him but was confused to find her no longer back outside.
"Where'd Brie go?" asked Troy.
"She ran back in," said Sharpay and then she kept flirting with Troy.
"Did I just see a r?" asked Chad, letting his last word go un said.
"Yeah," smiled Troy. "Not common knowledge." He added, signalling that they weren't to say anything if front of Gabriella's old friends.
Rebound nodded and went back to chatting with the girls. Moments later Gabriella came back out, ring missing. Zeke told her yes to ribs for everyone but she was to sit down and he would sort them out.
"Don't forget the Montez sauce," she called.
"What?" he shouted back.
Gabriella groaned and went into the house.
"The Montez sauce," she said.
"Of course I won't go," said Zeke.
"You know there here to see you," said Zeke. "And Sharpay is now trying to sit on Troy's knee.
"Alright I'm staking my claim," said Gabriella, reaching for the ring she had just hidden in the bread bin.
"Good hiding spot," smiled Zeke.
Gabriella walked off the back door, nobody took any notice apart from Chad and Jason.
"Sharpay," she said.
"Yes Gabs," she drawled not taking her hands or eyes of Troy.
"Sharpay!" said Gabriella, more forcefully.
"Jeez what?" asked Sharpay looking up to see a almost fuming Gabriella.
"That's my boyfriend!" said Gabriella.
Sharpay's hands fell from Troy in shock and she scoffed.
"Yeah right you his girlfriend," she scoffed.
Gabriella down on Troy's lap.
"That's right I'm not," she said, before turning to Troy and placing her left hand on display on his chest. Taylor and Kelsi's mouth fell open. Sharpay was oblivious.
"I was thinking July," she said.
Troy mentally went though his calendar in his head. "July could work."
"And Hawaii," added Gabriella.
"So a beach one?" asked Troy.
"No here in NYC and we go to Hawaii," said Gabriella. "Maybe."
"You're sat on his lap and you're saying you're not his girlfriend," said Sharpay.
"No I'm his fiancée," said Gabriella. "And we're getting married in July."
"The…. I…. What? The papers …. Nothing," stuttered Sharpay.
"I keep Brie out of the papers and we just got engaged like half an hour ago," said Troy.
"And it certainly took you long enough," said Chad.
"Yeah," said Jason. "It's been what nine years?"
"And you've had the ring for at least three years," said Zeke.
"Nine years this July," smiled Gabriella. "Three years?"
"Um yeah," said Troy, scratching the back of his neck.
"Why so long?" asked Gabriella.
"Well I was going to propose when I got it but then I had to wait till I could go see your father for his permission. Then he was in hospital. Then we were on tour for eighteen months. Then you went on that conference and now here we are," said Troy. "The timing was never right."
"My parents. I need to go phone mum and dad," said Gabriella, standing up and running inside.
"Phone mine?" shouted Troy.
"Phone them yourself," she called back.
"I'll be right back," smiled Troy, as he stood up and walked inside.
Zeke looked round the girls and saw Sharpay's face. "It's true and it's forever Sharpay you have no chance." "So what do you girls like in your salads?"
"Hey mum," said Gabriella.
"Hey mi hija. Is everything ok?" asked her mother.
"Yeah can you put me on speaker with dad as well?" asked Gabriella.
"Yeah sure Jack and Lucille are here as well are they ok to sit in on the conversation?" asked Maria.
"Yeah sure," smiled Gabriella. "Troy you're parents are at mum and dads!"
"Coming," called Troy.
"Hey Maria," he said.
"Hey Troy," said Maria.
"What about me?" asked his mother.
"Sorry ma. Hi," he said.
"So what's up?" asked Greg.
"We're getting married," said Gabriella. "In July."
There were squeals and congratulations and the families talked for a good half an hour before Troy remembered his guests and the pair hung up to re join them.
They spent the rest of evening, spending a pleasant evening with Taylor, Kelsi and Sharpay. Gabriella actually managed to have a very nice catch up with the three girls. She promised they'd be invited to the wedding.
When they left they all promised to keep in touch. They were going to be a great group of friends.
