What If – The Wedding

She was at her cousins wedding. In Ireland, it was gorgeous and she'd even been able to bring a couple of friends. So her parents had one room and her and her friends were in the next room.

She could have come with just her parents, she was twenty two but having those couple of friends made it easier.

"Gabriella did you know your cousin Michael knows Troy Bolton?" asked Taylor.

Gabriella shook her head.

"I heard from someone they were friends before Troy became famous and then Mike kept out of the spotlights," said Lexie.

"I wonder if we can meet him," said Taylor.

"How do you know he's even here?" asked Gabriella.

"Seen him, he's best man," said Lexie.

Gabriella nodded and headed into the bathroom to do her make – up. Once the door was closed she grinned and did a silent happy dance.

You see Gabriella knew Troy, well she more than knew him. She was secretly dating him – for the past three years. No one knew apart from their parents. Now she got to spent the weekend with him, when she could.

The ceremony had been beautiful. The drive interesting. The drive back to the hotel even more interesting with Taylor and Lexie insisting Troy Bolton had winked at them in church when he had been looking at Gabriella.

Now they were heading into dinner and for speeches – after the two to three hours wait.

Half the guests were ladies, most had been in awe as Troy delivered his speech with funny stories and romantic lines. Once again Taylor and Lexie insisting he was looking at them when he was glancing at Gabriella. Even when he was saying this.

"It's when the people around you start to settle down that you start to think about it yourself. Today has been a beautiful Jess you look stunning and Michael congratulants. Too many happy years together and maybe next time I see you it might be my own wedding but who knows. Let's toast to the happy couple."

Gabriella breath had caught in her throat and she barley been able to swallow a mouthful of champagne and she exchanged a look with Troy and her mother.

Now the dancing was starting, the alcohol was flowing freely. Troy had caught Gabriella's eye and now she was following him outside, anticipating what might happen.

Gabriella' mum looked around for her when Taylor and Lexie appeared not knowing where she was. When Gabriella's dad whispered in her ear, she smiled and said Gabriella be back soon,

Back soon she was no one apart from a couple noticing Troy Bolton coming in after soon after her or that they had matching grins on their face.

"Where were you?" asked Taylor.

"Need some air dad knew," she answered, not drawing attention to the diamond that now adjourned her left ring finger.

The girls accepted her answer, the night drew on. The live band turned into a DJ and soon the classes were playing Macarena, Grease and then Time of my life.

During this song at the beginning Troy caught Gabriella's eye and she nodded.

He started to cross the room as she danced with her friends. The first chorus was coming up and Troy wanted to twirl her.

Lexie and Taylor were so into dancing they didn't notice Troy behind Gabriella.

Until he picked her up on, "this could be love."

Then they watched as there friend danced with Troy Bolton, quiet closely.

"Bedtime?" he whispered in her ear.

"Soon," she whispered. "Or up or back down."

He pulled her closer.

"Once get you in that bed I won't let you out," he whispered.

"Well you've waited for a couple of months. You can wait a while longer," she whispered.

"Brie please," he groaned as, she danced with him.

She looked at him and nodded with that he took her by the hand and began tugging her towards the exit.

"Troy I have a bag," she laughed.

He let go and turned to watch her head over to her parents.

"Be safe," whispered her mum.

She blushed. "Mum he's my fiancée. See you at breakfast."

Troy appeared by her side.

"My apologies for dragging her away but I'd like some alone time with her," he said.

"I don't need to know about your alone time," said her dad.

Troy nodded and Gabriella called goodnight to her parents as he tugged her away. They went though the lounge and into the empty elevator and as it began to rise up the floors Tory claimed her lips.

However when they got into Troy's room tiredness soon became to hit Gabriella and cuddle against Troy as they kissed her eyes began to droop.

"Troy," she mumbled.

He pulled back, smiled and helped her take her dress off before pulling her back to him.

"Go to sleep," he whispered.

She nodded, snuggled into him her head rested on his bare (when had that happened) chest while had splayed/gripped of his lower torso.

Troy watched as his now fiancée slept, the party was still going on.

The open window let in the chatter from outside and he could hear people in the corridors.

"Well maybe she went back to our room," came a voice.

Troy listened it was Lexie and Taylor.

"Well someone said she was tugged away by Troy Bolton maybe she got lucky we'll see her in the morning," said Taylor.

The next morning Troy and Gabriella arrived in reception hand in hand – after a couple of hours spent in bed and the shower with room service.

"My cousin you sly git," laughed Michael.

Troy laughed. "It's a long story but we're heading out for the day."

"See you later?" asked Michael.

"Probably," said Troy. "Here for a couple more days."

"If not we'll see you at the next family do," said Gabriella.

"Which would be?" asked Michael,

"Our wedding," answered Gabriella, holding up her and Troy's clasped hands.

Just as she did this Taylor and Lexie came out of the lift and there mouths dropped open in shock. As she did her parents as they came down the stairs.

Taylor and Lexie started towards them but Troy and Gabriella were already outside.

"Taylor, Lexie come get breakfast with us we'll tell you a brief story," said Gabriella's mother.

"Did you see their faces," laughed Troy, as he backed out of the car park.

"No I didn't look back," said Gabriella. "I have a plane in a few couple."

"Your mum changed your flights and booked you time off work," said Troy. "Plus moved you to my room for the next few days."

"Hmm that'll be nice," she said.

"We'll get back in time to say bye to your parents," said Troy.

"And my friends," answered Gabriella. "Who will have tons of questions."

"Your parents are giving them a brief story," said Troy.

"Yeah but they'll still grill me when I get back home," said Gabriella.

"Well they won't have time to grill you when we get back to the hotel. I won't let them," answered Troy.

"Because you'll be dragging me straight to the bedroom?" asked Gabriella.

"Of course," said Troy.

Gabriella was right her friends did have questions but they'd had the answers from her mum and dad so they were really just affirming the facts. Gabriella assured them she'd tell them all when she came home.

So with hugs and farewells Gabriella's parents and friends headed home and Gabriella and Troy headed for their peaceful week of luxury.
