March 30th X785
3rd person
The runes surrounded Lloyd and Laxus. These runes formed a wall, a strong one. Lloyd sat on the wooden box, his elbows on his knees, his hands folded, resting his head. Laxus looked around, waiting for someone to tell him this was a joke.
"You're gonna knock me out? Who's gonna help you?" He asked, half annoyed, half amused.
"No one, just me. By the way, this wall's not to stop you from getting out. It's to stop me." Lloyd said, standing with a grin.
"So you don't wanna be here? Or do you think you're just so powerful you'll hurt someone?" Lloyd's smirk didn't waver. Laxus looked around, seeing the box they were in was about 100 feet on each side. "Little small for a fight, don't you think?" He asked.
"Well if you're so strong, you won't have to move much to take me down. Should be just a punch or something? Don't you wanna prove it?" Lloyd asked, still smirking, almost trying to piss Laxus off.
"Alright, I'll play, kid. Haven't had a good fight in a while. If you think you can give me one, I'll play your little game."
Natsu
I saw the runes and started running. Is Laxus trying to take over again? I thought he changed! I approached the guild and saw Laxus inside the box of runes. With him was Lloyd. "No, no, no. LAXUS!" I ran to the runes and bashed them. "Get out of there Laxus!"
"Don't worry, Natsu, I'm not trying to kill you again." He cracked his knuckles. "Just gonna have a bout with the iceman. It'll be fun."
"No, Laxus, he'll kill you!" I yelled bashing the wall harder.
"What're you talkin' about? He can't lay a hand on me." Laxus said, brushing off my comment.
"Oh you keep talkin' big, sparky. I'll knock your arrogant ass down a few pegs." Lloyd began to generate an icy aura around him. I ran to the part of the wall closest to Lloyd.
"Are you trying to prove something? Are you on a power trip?" I was seething. I saw through this bastard. He was too powerful for a human, he was some sort of monster.
"Calm your tits, Natsu, I'm just following Makarov's orders." A crowd began to form around the box. Almost everyone in the guild was watching. I walked over to freed.
"Take the fucking walls down NOW!" I screamed in his face. He didn't budge.
"Master's orders, Natsu, this is pretty important for Laxus."
"Laxus is gonna die, we can't trust Lloyd!" I pleaded.
"Salamander, what happened to you?" Gajeel walked through the crowd. "Are you scared of Lloyd?"
"You're damn right I am. He's not normal, he's not human."
"What the hell are you talking about?" He asked, seemingly concerned.
"I think he's a demon."
Lloyd
"Wasn't planning on having an audience. Wanna get this started?" I asked, ready to jump at a moment's notice.
"Whenever you are." Said Laxus, taking off his fur coat.
"Alright, where's freed?!"
"Right here, got the timer...ready." He said, as three zeroes appeared on a wall near the top of the box. "3!" I took my stance, ready to jump at my opponent. "2!" Laxus stood idly, not taking me seriously. "1!" I took one deep breath. "Go!" I rushed toward him, readying an attack. I jumped into the air and pulled my fist back. "Ice dragon, tundra wave!" I said as I missed Laxus by a few feet. My fist hit the ground, freezing the the ground. Laxus tried to move his feet, but he was frozen down.
"Heh, I wasn't gonna move much anyway." He grinned as I rushed toward him. I used a dragon slaying technique to blow smoke all over the field. He began to use his lightning to try and get rid of the smoke. I used this as an opportunity. I formed an ice pillar which brought me above the smoke. I could see Laxus' lightning and I fired blasts at him.
"Ice dragon, Arctic beam!" I yelled using a more powerful attack. The smoke began to clear, and I saw a small ball of lightning where Laxus should have been. I readied myself for a sneak attack, but right when I turned around, he got me.
"Lightning dragon's breakdown fist!" A giant lightning fist hit me, throwing me into the wall. I fell a good distance to the ground before I got up and jumped toward him.
"Ice make, armor!" I said as I put my hand over my fist. Light Armor made of ice formed around me as I drew my sword. The armor had a chestplate, arm and leg armor, and a helmet. "Soul sword!" I swung the regenerating sword at the falling Laxus. He skillfully pushed the sword away in time, almost as if he could perceive it lightning quick.
"Lightning dragon roar!" He yelled as a lightning beam shot out of his mouth. I barely dodged it and began tumbling to the ground out of control. He blasted the cieling, propelling him downward, and stomped me back to the ground. The armor shattered. I stood up and sheathed my sword as Laxus landed a few yards from me. I stomped on the ground, destroying the ice pillar and clearing the last bit of smoke. I ran toward him and he ran toward me. We both readied our attacks.
"Ice dragon,"
"lightning dragon," we jumped at each other.
"Iron fist!" We both yelled as the punches hit each other, causing us both to fly to either end of the box.
Natsu
Gajeel hesitantly grabbed Levy and we headed to the library. Never before had I wanted to actually read, but this was important. As we entered the library, we looked around. We looked for hours until we found a book about a guild. "Tartaros..."
"Isn't that one of the guilds in the baram alliance?" Levy asked as I opened the book.
"Really, Salamander? I think this is a real stretch." I lowered the book, and looked at them both.
"I've seen his power. So have you gajeel, and things don't add up. His power is beyond anything I've seen in a dragon slayer."
"That's probably because he knows other magic." Levy suggested.
"It can't just be that. I've seen all of his magic in other people. Dragon slaying, ice make, and he said his soul sword thingy is a type of requip. None of those make him that berserk thing." I said, continuing to skim through the book.
"He could know even more magic." Said Gajeel.
"Maybe, but you remember that story about him breaking out of the magic handcuffs? Julie told me he was in that berserk mode. He's hiding something." Just then, I found something in the book that looked interesting. "Guys, look here." I pointed to a page as they looked over my shoulder. "It says here that there are a lot of accounts of an ice devil slayer."
"Well I haven't seen him use anything but dragon slayer magic." Said Levy.
"Me either. Look Salamander, I get where you're coming from, but Lloyd seems like a normal guy. Let's head back. I wanna see how that fight ends."
"...fine." We got up and put the books back before leaving toward the guild. Are they right? What is it about him that puts me on edge? I've never been like this, I thought to myself as we approached the guild. I can't believe I-
"Ice devil's rage!" I knew it!
Lloyd
As the clock struck 6 minutes, I upped my game. I began using my devil slaying magic. I was sloppy and untrained in the art, but it was powerful. My ice turned from light blue to a dull purple. It seemed to burn Laxus' skin when it grazed him and it began to make his attacks less refined, more explosive, less accurate, more erratic. His attacks seemed to be burning him out quicker as the pain from my ice continued to cloud his mind and I dodged every single attack. The pain must've been more overwhelming than I thought. I decided to end it, for his sake. I slowly advanced, sidestepping every attack. Finally, as I was within arm's length he began to punch, but there was barely any force. I rose my hand and quickly struck the back of his head, ending the fight at eight minutes and thirty two seconds.
I've had this nearly done for a while now, but I just wasn't up to finishing it until now. I know I say this every time, but I hope to get chapters out faster. At least two more this year is my goal, but I'm gonna shoot for more. Also, a lot of the chapter have been given a final edit and I won't be editing them again unless I see a huge glaring error later on. If you haven't read the early chapter since before 9/7/16, then give them a quick re-read. It also contains several date changes to straighten out the continuity. Other than that, please R&R
