A/N: Random moments - now with Mandy!
"Do you think she'll find out?" Alex asked, looking at the pieces on the floor.
It started out as a harmless joke between the girls and Mandy. At first, Mandy placed a cockroach in Clover's lunch and made the girl screamed her head off so Clover decided to take revenge by gluing Mandy's locker shut. It turned into a competition and they kept going back and forth and have been doing that for a month now.
Now, Clover and Alex were in Mandy's backyard with buckets of blue paint because Clover was going to made a little change to Mandy's sprinkler. Stumbling through the darkness, they accidentally knocked over one of the giant statues of Mandy.
"We'll just replace it with a mirror. That girl is so vain, she won't even notice a difference." Clover laughed but was cut short when Alex hit her on the arm.
"Be quiet! She might wake up."
"She's probably dreaming about herself so she wouldn't risk waking up. She won't find out until morning so we have the whole night to cover this up."
Alex raised her eyebrow. "And how exactly are we going to cover it up?"
After 10 minutes of arguing, they've decided to stack up the broken pieces and added a shovel and other things so that when they put a sheet over it, the silhouette would look similar to Mandy's figure.
They took a step back to admire their work and maybe it was because of the darkness or they were too tired, but it looked exactly like Mandy. Too much so that Alex was kind of scared.
"For the finishing touch." Clover stuck on it a sign that read Under construction, do not remove sheet or you'll turn ugly. "Like she isn't already."
The two girls ran back to their house while giggling, and celebrating their little crime.
"Nice play, losers. You're gonna have to pay for it soon." said Mandy, looking out from her bedroom window. Her evil laugh echoed around the mansion, scaring the birds away into the night.
"Here she comes, look away." Clover leaned against her locker with her arms crossed, looking nonchalant. While Alex didn't have much success looking the same, so she hid head inside her locker instead.
"Hey losers, are you hiding your ugly face, Alex?" Mandy laughed.
"No! You are!" Alex retorted.
"That doesn't even make sense. " Mandy furrowed her brows but didn't give it too much thoughts. "Whatever." She walked away.
Sam watched Clover and Alex simultaneously heaved a sigh of relief and had her suspicious.
"Okay, that was weird. Even for you two." Sam said. "What's going on?"
Clover and Alex exchanged glances to decide if they should tell her. Alex gave in.
"Last night, for the prank-" Alex was cut short when Sam covered her own ears.
"No, no, I take it back. I don't want to know. Don't drag me into your feud."
"But we br-"
Sam clasped Alex's mouth shut. "Do not drag me in. I have an upcoming physics test and I can't afford to let all of you mess it up."
"What happened to sticking up for your best friends when they're in trouble?" Clover said.
"What happened to not getting into troubles?" said Sam, as she walked away to stay far from whatever was going on.
Clover turned back to Alex. "I guess it's just between us, now. You sure you'll be okay?"
Alex gave her a little nod.
"Great. See ya." She gave Alex a quick hug before leaving to class.
Alex was left alone in the hallway with her own guilt. She swallowed and put on a brave face then suddenly, the lights went out. Alex jumped and let out a yelp but no one was there to help.
"Hello Alex." A voice said.
"Hello…ghost?"
"It is, I, the ghost of the beautiful Mandy's statue." The voice announced.
"Oh no, Mandy's statue is coming back to haunt me." Alex mumbled.
"No! It is The Beautiful Mandy's statue." The sudden snap made Alex shivered.
"Sorry, I meant The Beautiful Mandy's statue."
"Good. Now since you've destroyed my amazing thin body, you need to pay up. Or else…"
"No, please, don't kill me. I'll do whatever you want." Alex begged.
"That's good." The evil laugh appeared and the voice told Alex what to do.
Lunch break came and Clover and Sam sat around their usual table waiting for their other friend.
"Alex would never be late to lunch. That monster, Mandy, must've kidnapped her!" Clover said.
"Though I highly doubt that, I do find it strange that Alex would miss her lunch. Maybe we should go check on her." The two of them got up and exited the cafeteria to head to the Biology lab where Alex had her last lesson.
On their way to the lab, they spotted a small familiar figure standing around Mandy's locker with a sponge in one hand and a spray bottle in another. As they got closer, they recognised Alex scrubbing away the non-existent dirt on the locker.
"Alex?" They both asked.
Alex's face lightened up when she saw her friends. "Thank goodness, you girls are here. I need to tell you something." She turned to Sam. "Maybe not you, this is related to Mandy."
Sam rolled her eyes and walked back to the cafeteria. "Why do I even bother?" She murmured.
When Sam has left, Clover put her hands on Alex's shoulders and shook her. "Alex, has the guilt turned you crazy?"
"No, it's not that. I met the ghost of The Beautiful Mandy's statue." Alex explained.
"So it has turned you crazy."
"I'm not crazy! Listen, you have to do what the ghost tells you, okay?"
Clover stroked Alex's hair softly like a mother comforting a child. She let her friend rest her head on her shoulder. "Of course, Alex. Sure."
Clover slammed her locker shut. Another tiring cheerleading practice and now she finally got to go home. It was then that she heard the voice.
"Hello Clover."
Clover sighed. "Okay Alex, I got your point."
"Oh I'm not Alex. I am the ghost of The Beautiful Mandy's statue."
"Unnecessary long name much?"
"Shut it!" The loud bang on the locker startled Clover. She looked around the room but she was the only one there. "Listen up, if you don't do what I tell you, you'll be sure to pay the price tonight."
Clover's hands were trembling but she ignored it and pretended to stay strong. "What do you want?"
"Being the person that you are, I'm sure you won't mind this one. Flash the football team."
Clover's eyes widened. "What?"
"You heard me. Flash the football team."
"You want me to flash them?" Clover shrugged. "Jeez, no need to haunt me. You could've just asked me nicely."
She still had her tough face on when she walked to the field. She was still standing strong when she gathered the entire team around the bleachers. The guys were all confused but they didn't seem to mind the interruption, especially if it was coming from the hot cheerleader. Then she stood up on the bleacher. And she did it.
"YOU FLASHED THE ENTIRE TEAM?" Those were the first words Clover heard the moment she got home.
"Wow, gossips travel quickly."
Alex ran up to her. "What happened? What got into you?"
"Nothing got into me. If anything, I just got a bunch of dates." Clover winked.
"It was the ghost, wasn't it?" Alex asked, her voice shaky.
Clover avoided eye contact. She didn't want to give in. She didn't want to be gullible.
"It was the ghost." Alex said.
"Fine, yes. But you know what, we don't ha-" Clover stopped when the door opened and Sam entered.
"What's going on?" Sam questioned.
Both Clover and Alex shook their heads. "Nothing."
Sam cocked her eyebrow but she decided to ignore it. "Oh Clover, there's a photo of you on Facebook, by the way."
"I knew one of them would post it!" Clover exclaimed.
The week went by and Sam began to notice her friends' behaviours getting weirder and weirder. They were startled by every single sounds. Every creaks, every squeaks, and every footsteps. They've been sleeping in Sam's room every night because they were scared of being alone.
It wasn't just them being scared. They were doing other things too. On Tuesday, Sam spotted Alex going over to Mandy's house to mow her lawn and just yesterday, Clover was fixing Mandy's tire. Sam didn't even know Clover knew how to fix tires. Today, Clover went home and ran straight to the kitchen to make chocolate soufflés and Alex went to her room to make a paper maché head of Mandy.
"This is getting out of hand." Sam mumbled under her breath. Finally, she decided to close her physics textbook.
She crossed their backyard to get to Mandy's mansion. She was responded with a robot voice through a speaker on the gate.
"State your name."
"Sam." She said hesitantly.
"Full name."
"Samantha Simpson."
"Age."
"17." Now this is getting creepy.
"Height and weight."
"Okay, this is ridiculous." Sam banged on the gate. "Mandy, open your damn gates!"
Then the gates opened.
Sam walked across an endless garden into the beautiful mansion. She climbed up the never ending stairs and marched through the hallway that stretches for miles before finally reaching Mandy's bedroom.
She knocked on it.
"What?" She was unpleasantly greeted with the sight of Many's obnoxious face.
"You really need to invest in some elevators." Sam said, bursting into the room.
"You can't come in here! This is my room." Mandy stomped on the floor, like a little kid.
"And they are my friends. I know you are behind this, Mandy." Sam rummaged through the room aimlessly, hoping to find something.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Mandy flipped her hair.
"Really, then what is-" Sam searched through the drawers.
"What is what?"
"Give me a minute." She pulled out the bottom drawer. "Aha! What's this?"
"That's a walkie talkie."
"No, I know what it is. Why do you have it?"
"I don't know what wild conclusion you're getting at. But the ghost voice they're hearing isn't coming from me."
Sam crossed her arms. "Then how do you know about the ghost voice they've been hearing?"
Mandy stuttered, she knew she's been caught and she was trying to come up with a good lie but it was too late. Sam was already one step ahead, she had recorded their exchange and was now leaving to relay the information back to her friends.
A knock on Mandy's door and she opened it. Clover was standing outside with a tray of chocolate soufflés and a smile on her face.
"What the heck are you doing here?" Mandy said, a bit confused.
"I wanted to give you some chocolate soufflés. That's all" Her smile became wider.
"Are they poisoned?"
"No. Why would they be?"
Mandy leaned in closer to study the blonde's expression but her smile was still staying on. Sam must have not told them yet. And the soufflés smelled delicious too.
Tempted, Mandy took one and put it to her mouth and suddenly, she felt a hand pushing her own, forcing the soufflés to slam into her face.
Melted chocolate was all over her face, smearing her make up. She couldn't believe that she fell for this stupid prank. Mandy heard laughters coming from outside as Sam and Alex joined in.
"Maybe you're the real ghost because we could see through your stupid lies!"
