Author's Note: This will jump around a little, and I'm sorry if it's kind of obnoxious but I've just been trying to get back into writing this story and this was the best I could come up with without wanting to crawl into a hole and die. Never fear though, things will heat up next chapter and get a little fluffy and good. I'm sorry I've taken so long and I'm a jerk. I apologize. Anyways, I hope this can tide you over until I can write the next chapter which better be awesome because if it isn't i'll hate myself forever. Now then, enjoy :)
"Woah, wait what? The first competition is swimming out to the buoy and then back?" Ron asked staring out at the water and the little orange speck in the distance.
Jean nodded, "Not too bad." She grinned.
His jaw dropped, "But it's like a mile away!"
The fashion designer shrugged, "Actually, only half a mile. It's a mile round trip. And don't worry, they have boats with people out there to help in case you start to drown or something. If you can't make it back they'll just haul you aboard."
The blond frowned slightly. He had confidence in his running ability, but not so much in swimming. He could swim, sure, but this was a little farther than he usually had to swim on missions.
"Oh man up, Stoppable. It's only a mile," Shego smirked. "It won't kill you."
"The sharks might though," said one of the Wegos.
"We get them every year," the other Wego stated.
The sidekick gulped.
Kim rolled her eyes, "Don't listen to them, Ron. It won't be that bad. Come on, we've faced sharks before. We'll be fine."
He managed a weak smile but went along with it. He'd never been very good at saying no to Kim, and this was no exception.
Shego, Kim, the Wegos, and Ron all went to sign up, Monique and Jean passing. The two decided that this was a perfect time to get their strategy together.
When it grew time for the race, the two girls wished the others good luck and watched them take off, but then they had more pressing things to think about and turned from the race.
"I say that we bribe the organizers to rig Shego and Kim to be together for the three-legged race. If we don't then Kim would probably pick Ron to be her partner and we can't have that. We need the two to get a little closer," Jean said, pulling out her activities schedule.
Monique looked over the other events. "I think we should wait for the boat races. It lasts longer and they'll be confined in a small space together for a decent amount of time."
"Yeah, that could work, but I think they'd do better running together and won't end up hitting each other with oars on purpose," Jean sighed.
"I see what you mean. Well, if we don't do the boating together, how about for the scavenger hunt later tonight we make Kim's list have 'find someone exotic' and Shego's list say 'grab a redhead.' That'd work right? Then they'd have to stay together."
"I think that could work. I should be able to rig this with my connections in the group of organizers."
"Who exactly is on the board that you can bribe?" Mo asked with a cocked eyebrow.
"Weeeell, I might just possibly have this guy I'm flirting shamelessly with," she said with a little grin.
"Are you actually interested in him, or are you leading him on?"
The older woman shrugged and said with a little sparkle in her eye, "Maybe a little bit of both."
Mo rolled her eyes, "I don't want to know do I?"
"Probably not."
"Got it. Alright… now… about the dance and the fireworks…"
Jean smiled, "You leave that to me. I know what to do." She had a devilish glint in her eye. This was going to be fun.
"Oh come on! I definitely beat her to the finish!" Shego said angrily to the judges.
"No way! I beat you by a good five inches!" Kim huffed.
The two bickered back and forth as the judges shrunk away, trying to escape their fury. The two girls had reached the finish at approximately the same time so they couldn't truly judge who got there first.
"H-How about we just give you both top points since we can't be too sure?" one of the judges asked hesitantly.
The two girls glared at each other then at the judge and said, "Fine!" They then stormed over to wear their two best girl friends were waiting for them in a huff.
"The uh… competition getting a little heated?" Mo asked with a slight chuckle.
Neither girl responded.
Jean rolled her eyes.
The three-leg race went better than expected. Kim and Shego may have wanted to beat each other, but placed on the same team they came up with a mutual agreement. Kick everyone else's ass, then each other's. They won.
The boating race was a little dangerous with Shego and Kim violently racing each other. In the end they lost to an attractive guy who just so happened to pass between Kim and Shego whilst they were fighting and accidentally tip them over. They tied for second, but were about ready to accidentally injure the first place winner and take his place.
The scavenger hunt turned out interestingly as well. Shego was the first to go to the other girl, grabbing Kim and throwing her over her shoulder. Kim managed to grab the other items needed while Shego carried her around, but she wasn't all too pleased with the way the green skinned woman seemed to 'accidentally' grab her ass every now and then when running.
When the points were tallied Shego and Kim tied, and neither were pleased. They had to share the crown, and as competitive as they were, neither wanted to admit that they didn't actually mind being equal.
Kim plopped down on the towel next to Ron. "So, what's next on the activity roster?"
"There's a dance as it slowly gets dark, and some barbeque. Then they'll be lighting the fireworks at around 10."
"A dance? Eh, I'll skip that," the redhead shrugged. "I'm too tired."
Shego snorted as she took a seat beside the hero, "Oh please, today hasn't been that tiring."
Kim rolled her eyes, "What? Is this your way of asking me to dance?" She stared at Shego who had a cocked eyebrow.
"If I wanted to ask you to dance, I'd do it the way I did at the ball," she said with a slight smirk. She slowly leaned closer as she said with confidence, "I'd sweep you off your feet and wouldn't let you say no."
The redhead didn't even realize she was leaning closer until the Wegos coughed slightly. The two girls pulled back immediately.
Mo and Jean gave the twins a death glare, but neither understood what they'd done wrong.
Shego abruptly stood up and said, "Well I'm going to dance and pick up some chicks. Wegos, you coming?"
The twins grinned and chased after their sister as she walked towards the slowly amassing group of dancers.
Ron then stood up and said, "You know what, they have the right idea. I'm going to go show off my Ron moves and pick up some ladies." He shot them a grin and followed after.
"What, you two aren't going?" Kim asked Jean and Monique.
Jean shrugged, "I'm waiting for my man to come and get me."
Monique sighed, "I think I'll get some food first." She brushed the sand off of her pants and left for the barbeque. As soon as she ascertained that Kim wasn't paying attention, she shot Jean a look, and her partner in crime nodded slightly. It was time to get to work.
A/N: DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN. What could Mo and Jean be planning for this little dance eh? What do you all think eh? Hope this is enough to placate you for a little while as I try to get myself back to writing. I love you all, please don't hate me.
