Chapter Five: Inconvenient Truths

Gildan's Note: It's been yearsssss, sorry, I moved to AO3 (where I'll probably post this), same username, I'm writing a Reservoir Dogs fanfic over there. I've had this written for YEARS but never posted it because the chapter wasn't finished, but I figured I'd throw this up here and see where it goes.

Sometime in the middle of the night, Mulder rolled over on to his stomach and swung his right arm over Krycek, while his left arm reached out to the side of the bed, hitting something in the process. Suddenly, the bed made a loud and terrifying noise, like the start of some ancient engine. The bed began to turn slowly. Mulder leapt up, his arm still over Krycek, who was now awakened by the rotations of their bed. Mulder quickly removed his arm before Krycek could notice.

"WHUUU" Krycek yelled, but it was more a ghostly moan. "Whatsssshappnin?"

"I pressed something on the side of the bed."

Krycek scooted behind Mulder, trying to find the switch that would turn off the 'ride'.

"I got it." he grunted, stretching out his hand and pressing another button.

The bed started to spin even faster.

"Holy sh-" Mulder attempted to say but fell down onto Krycek. He held himself up by his forearms, but his face was a mere five inches away from Krycek's. "I'm gonna be sick." he said.

"Oh god please don't throw up on me." said Krycek.

"Who enjoys this?!"

Mulder and Krycek looked each other in the eyes.

"Come on Mulder, we can roleplay an alien abduction." Krycek said, attempting to sound teasingly but ended up sounding more unsettled.

"I'm afraid if I take my eyes off yours I'm gonna get dizzy."

"I know what you mean." Krycek whispered, then promptly cleared his throat in an attempt to make it sound like he had lost his voice just by chance.

Krycek reached his arm out to the edge of the bed. "I think I've got it" he pressed down, and the bed began to spin even faster than before.

Mulder officially came crashing down onto Krycek, who let out an "OOF! Jesus." Mulder strained to get up and pressed his hand down on to another button. The bed finally began to slow down.

"I. hate, rides, and now I hate spinning beds." he panted.

"I...told you this place was too hardcore..." said Krycek, breathless, but he had to admit he was a little sad that the bed was coming to a stop. That was him, taking what he could get even if it was an uncomfortable spinning love bed.

Mulder rolled back on to his side of the bed and eyed the control panel. Krycek put his pillow back to where it was. "Well, that was eventful." He said.

"No shit."

They both gave breathless laughs, and both turned to go back to sleep.
