Chapter 6
Deimon High's Field Day. It was the perfect chance for Hiruma to execute his training for their next match and Mamori and Yukimitsu were the best henchmen for the plan. Converting them to side with him was easy… too easy for someone like him.
Mamori had made a tiny mistake; a tiny mistake that Hiruma could use and exploit to his advantage. It was a just a tiny whisper the perfect blackmail for his dear manager.
"You kissed me, you want me to tell them all about it." He whispered sinisterly in her ears. Mamori stood there for a long while as his words and her actions sunk in her thoughts.
It wasn't really a kiss, in his opinion. It was a peck that didn't even last for a second. He barely noticed it. He was just resting his eyes in their clubroom and she thought he was sleeping. Even as she got close to him he didn't flinch. He was too tired to give a damn about his surroundings anymore.
"I'm going home now Hiruma-kun." She said checking if he was still awake. Once more he didn't bother to react.
"Otsukare…" Mamori whispered.
She lowered her head slightly until her lips touched his. She then backed off quickly, waiting for his reaction. She sighed with relief as she was sure he was asleep. She then hurried out and smiled on the way home.
Hiruma opened his eyes after a bit, making sure that Mamori was already gone. He held his face, feeling his cheeks getting warmer. He then smiled, this is one blackmail material he didn't want to use but it might come in handy one day.
And today was that day. He needed Mamori to be on his side now, he knew she would not let him hurt Sena or let him do anything dangerous. So today he needed Mamori to back off if he wanted their star player to be in fighting condition.
Everything was going according to plan… except for the bunny suit… but that was irrelevant. He has something far more interesting to watch now.
"You look adorable as a bunny." Mamori commented staying beside him as they watched the last lap of the three-legged race.
Hiruma didn't know if he found that insulting or flattering. So Hiruma looked at her as she was still in a wedding dress. She looked lovely as a bride. Even with a cheap bridal gown she looked breathtakingly beautiful. How many mortal souls could he sacrifice just so the heavens could let him have her as a bride? He could not even begin to count. He knows a blushing bride like that will never take him as a husband.
"You look better in that mafia outfit. Kekekeke."
Mamori pouted, she was still regretting that acting she did to fool Sena and the others.
"If that's the case then I'll go change now." Mamori said stiffly as she turned to go.
"By the way, you were fucking good in that bean bag toss." He said.
Mamori turned back to him and smiled. "Is that a compliment Hiruma-kun?"
Hiruma could feel himself blush, "You want to kiss me again?" Hiruma teased to push away his subtle embarrassment again.
Mamori walked away off to the small changing rooms in the field. As she walked, Hiruma saw how every man in the field looked at her as she passed by. Hiruma didn't like the way they leered at her; each thinking of his own fantasies with her at the center of it. She was a bride marching down the aisle as she walked away from him off to meet her prince charming of a husband. He felt a weird punch in the gut as he thought about her walking towards another man. There was a dark bitter taste in his mouth that made him want to puke. His body was telling him that he did not want such a thing to happen.
He licked his lips remembering that brief moment when he had felt the softness of her lips on his. The small sweetness lingered there but was almost gone.
He wanted to taste her lips once more. He wanted to give her a real kiss but he knew he couldn't.
'Fuck it. Focus!' He muttered to himself.
A strong wind passed by him and noticed that it was Sena's costume… however the one who as running beside him was unknown to him. He didn't notice who it was but from the way he ran Hiruma was sure he was going to be trouble.

A year had passed and once more it was Deimon's Field Day again. Hiruma doesn't want to participate this year. There is nothing worth fussing about this year so he rather stays out of all of it.
"Hiruma-kun!" Mamori suddenly bursts from the door of their quiet classroom.
Hiruma doesn't even move as she walks towards him. She finds him sitting down busy with his laptop as his legs stretched and rested on the desk in front of him.
"The Devil Bats will have a match today. Let's watch!" Mamori says, face full of excitement.
"And why would I watch those fucking losers?" Hiruma asks, typing on his laptop.
Mamori sits on the table. She looks out the window with a hand dangling near Hiruma.
"They found a new quarterback. This is his first game. I would love it if we go see him." Mamori says as she moves her fingers on his legs on the desk.
Hiruma closes the laptop and sets it aside. He takes her hand almost surprising Mamori.
"You seduce me this much for a match? How far have you gone since last year?" Hiruma asks, "Have I brought out even this part of you?"
He sneers and kisses her hand. He then takes out his tongue and licks the inside of her palm. Mamori squirmed as his soft wet tongue tickles her palm and fingers.
"Do you want me to lick you somewhere else?" Hiruma asks.
"No. I want us to watch the match."
Hiruma grins, "you're sure?"
Mamori tucks her hair behind her ear and blushes. "Maybe later."
Hiruma then stands up and faces away. "Fuck. You win."

There is a feeling of home while being distant from the real essence of home. Being close to something you love but unable to fully enjoy it. It is how Hiruma is feeling right now. With every muscle in his body he wants to get in the field and play with the rest of the team. He knows that he is more of a tactician, more of 'the brains', more of the overseer but it still feels more like football when you're in the game.
The new quarterback is definitely something he expects him to be. Rough on the edges but has the potential to be the best. The boy's accuracy is commendable but his control needs more work. It's like finding a diamond within the pile of shitty rocks. It's what the team was really about anyway, so basically they're just keeping up with the tradition.
As the ball soars towards the sky there is a sense of longing burning inside his heart. He stretches his fingers feeling a certain itch in them. It has been quite a while since he tossed a ball and what he would give to do such a thing in a match once more.
Mamori finds it very amusing how engrossed Hiruma is in this match. Everything around him just vanished the moment the match began. Nothing is more important than the game unfolding in front of him.
She noticed his fingers, twitching as every pass is made. He would leer and hiss with every pass that didn't meet his expectation. He would clench his fist with every close catch and smirk with pride with every successful long pass. Hiruma, for Mamori, is as entertaining as the game itself.
Deimon wins.
He had expected that and won't settle for any other outcome. And with that, the world comes back to life around him. He didn't even realize how the game took too much of his attention. He just misses the game too much. This had never happened before.
He looks around seeing only Kurita with him.
"Isn't he great Hiruma! I think that boy will be great… of course not greater than you but…" Kurita rambles on about the new quarterback.
"Where is Anezaki?" Hiruma finally asks.
"She left a few seconds ago just after the last touchdown. Someone was calling her." Kurita explains, "She asked you before she went away. Don't you remember?"
Hiruma vaguely remembers something like "I'll be right back."
"I see. I'll go look for her then." He decides.
"Should I go with you?" Kurita asks.
Hiruma looks at the winning team and instantly sees Sena looking at directly at him. He lifts his eyebrow a bit to acknowledge him. Sena smiles.
"You better go to them. I'll go get Anezaki."
"Eh? Hiruma won't you like to be with them too?" Kurita seems sad and torn. He obviously wants to be with the team but at the same time doesn't want to leave Hiruma all alone.
Hiruma sighs and gives him a big kick in the ass. Kurita screams a bit but didn't budge.
"It's not the fucking Christmas Bowl yet fucking fatty. I won't join them until they win that!" Hiruma shouts.
Kurita finally gives up. "We will be waiting for you Hiruma. You know that!"
Hiruma walks away with a light chuckle. Celebrating with them after the Christmas bowl… yeah, he is counting on that.
He continues to walk as he checks his phone. He looks around the footage of the different hidden cameras he installed around school to know where Mamori currently is. He finds one that spots her and apparently she is just outside only a few steps from where he is.
He finds her. He is about to call her when he notices that she is not alone. He then hides.
There in front of her stood a guy. A second year from what Hiruma can see and obviously has a big crush on Mamori. From his assessment this is one of those typical confessions that usually happen during this time of the year.
"I don't know what to say…"
Mamori was the one speaking when he arrived on the scene. Too bad he didn't see how that guy actually confessed.
"Don't say anything!" The guy bravely speaks up.
"I know that Hiruma-san has something against you…. something that he's using to control you under the guise of being in a relationship with him. He has something on me too but I don't care. I like you. I really like you and it just angers me to see that the girl I like is being mistreated and bullied by someone like him."
"You don't understand Hiruma-kun. He is really a good guy underneath all that profanity and violence. He's not really bullying me." Mamori defends.
"Of course that's what he wants you to say." The guy stands firm, much to Hiruma's annoyance.
The guy then steps closer to Mamori and places his hand on her shoulders. Hiruma's fingers twitch ready to shoot a gun any time now. One wrong move and this guy will die because at that moment Hiruma is thinking of not using blanks.
"What is it Anezaki-san? A family problem? Are you under his debt? A secret job? Are you actually a maid in a café?" The guy rambles on as Mamori tries to stop him.
"No… it's not… I don't have… what?!" She can only say. Hiruma then prepares a rifle, good for shooting someone at this range.
"Is it a deal?"
Hiruma then stops at the word. He puts the firearm away and just stops. He can also hear Mamori being lost for words. In all honestly, it is a deal.
Hiruma feels a small gripping pain in his chest. He remembers that scene he formed around his head once more; the blushing bride walking away from him and towards her lucky bastard of a prince. He knows that he already has Mamori but what if the girl is confusing her sense of duties with her feelings.
Seeing how Mamori reacted, the guy continues on but now with more conviction than before.
"You don't really love him right? You became their manager because of Kobayakawa-kun and now you're his pretend girlfriend because he's blackmailing you to be that. And I know he's influencing you to do wrong things as well because nothing good will ever come out of being with that guy. That guy is a monster and he's awful. He doesn't deserve to be in a team and play football and he will never deserve to have you."
He wants to walk away and not hear anymore. Having feelings hurts a fucking lot. He knows that and he doesn't like this. He have been trying his best to be cold-hearted but ever since that woman came into his life he doesn't know if he can keep up with this role anymore… and he is not enjoying it a bit.
SLAP.
His ears twitch as the sound woke him up from wallowing in self-pity. He shakes the idea away. He will stay put. Feelings should not be a problem for someone like him. He must be strong.
Mamori breathes heavily as she holds her hand. The sting of the impact of the slap is still fresh. She slapped him so hard that even his body turned.
The boy slowly turns to her, stunned with her actions. His mouth hangs as he rubs his red swollen cheek.
"YOU. Don't have any right. Any right to say that." Mamori's fingers were shaking in anger as she tries her best to level her voice. "You can call him a blackmailing demon from hell or whatever but never… NEVER… say that he will never deserve anyone. He worked so hard for all those things… so hard… everyday…"
Tears threaten to fall from her eyes. She stops and breathes.
"I am really honoured that you have feelings for me, I really am. But in all honesty I will never leave Hiruma's side. I can never be on anyone's side but him. So thank you."
Mamori bows deeply. She straightens, turns around and starts to go. The guy takes a step towards her so she says in a very polite manner, "Please don't follow me. I would like it if you stay away from me for a while." She then continues to walk.
She turns into a corner as she massages her swollen hand. She must have hit him so hard. This is the first time she hit anyone that hard. Although she is against hurting anyone she knows that what she did was the only thing she can do that time. She can only hope that he will understand her someday.
A few more steps and she finally lift her head up, only to see who was listening there the whole time. Hiruma places a finger on his lips and hushed. Instantly she stops from making any sound. Hiruma holds her swollen hand gently and plants a small kiss on the back of her hand. He then gestures for them to go.
And so they run.
This is different from last year. That time he knew he will never be the guy she will walk towards to down the aisle. But now he can be that guy and as greedy as the demon he is he will never let any man have that position. They have to kill him first and make sure to burn his soul before anyone else can have her.
