Amazon the Rainwing
I hatched in the rainforest on a moonless night. I looked around for my mother or father or any other dragon around but I could not see anyone. For the first hours of my life I just hid in the egg shell wondering what was out there in the blackness. In a few hours I saw a dragon coming toward me, I got scared, and I pulled a nearby leaf over me and I saw that my talon was a lime green. I thought that I would die then and I wondered if I could breathe fire and I tried it. I felt something change in me and I looked at my talon again, I saw that it was no longer green but it was a dark red-orange, I tried breathing fire again and it worked! The dragon coming toward me stopped, turned around and flew away as fast as possible. I wondered if I could find a place that I could live or at least stay for a while. I flew up to the tree tops and looked around for anything that I could live in, but I found nothing and I wondered if I could make a house out of leaves and branches. After thinking about it for a while when I was getting something to eat, I started to gather the materials that I would need for my house.
In a few hours I had found enough to start building my house. I first found a canopy that would support me and my house, then I put up some large branches that could be the outline for walls of my new house and I set them up with some other smaller branches that could weave around for the walls. In a few hours I finished my house, and I started gathering leaves for my bed, which I finished in about ten minutes. As I was putting the finishing touches on my house, a rainwing that was camouflaged appeared in front of me and said, "What are you doing?" I immediately changed back to a rainwing and said, "Building myself a house." The rainwing stared at me and asked, "How did you do that?" I said, "Do what?" She responded with, "You were a skywing then you changed into a rainwing." I responded, "I...I...I don't know." "How in all of Pyrrhia can a dragon change from one tribe to another and not know how they did it?!" She yelled at me. I said quietly, "I am less than a week old, how would I know that?" She said, "You are less than a week old?" I nodded. "What is your name?" I said, "I don't have a name yet." She asked me, "Do you like Amazon?" "Yes", I said. I thought, 'Ok now my name is Amazon, cool.' I asked the other dragon what her name was and she said, "Jaguar." Jaguar asked me if she could stay the night with me. I said, "Sure."
