A/N 1: Ok I just finished season 3 and…wow that sad finale, but it got me pumped about the series again. I think three seasons is enough wiggle room for me to expand the story now. Make sure to tell me what you thought of this chapter with a review or follow.
Prologue: White v1
"Are you sure about this one man, I mean the event you're going after is a party in Atlas for god's sake the military capital of the world?" District Shadow Hawks gang leader Jack said to his stubborn young friend Wraith…Midas the Golden Thief, who was examining himself in a mirror after getting dressed.
"You worry to much Jack, I'm going to be fine I'm not afraid of some military jar heads. In fact the increased security only makes things easier for me, a little strings pulled here and there and boom I'm able to slip through the cracks. Besides how can you expect me not to go out for a night of excitement when I look so good right now?" Midas joked to his close friend after turning to face with him, revealing his outfit for the Schnee Dust Company party. He was wearing a fine black suit, white under shirt, gold tie, black dress pants, gold cufflinks, and finally a gold and black masquerade mask with the left half extending down half his face and the right side topped with a golden feather.
"Yes yes you look great a day with my personal tailor will do that for you Wraith…your welcome for the reference by the way. But anyway like always your being to lax about the situation, theirs going to be four times the security you're used to the Schnee company is the biggest dust company in the world after all. Their will be a LOT of people with guns alert at that party I, just need you to understand your not invincible. Something I thought you'd know after your months of recovery from losing almost total sight in your right eye." Jack said very concerned to Midas after walking over to him, and helping him correctly tie up his gold tie.
"Far from it, all this injury has taught me is that trusting new people is a mistake. The only people I can count on in this life are myself and you of course buddy…Look I know I'm not invincible but I also need to get out and do something with my life, I can't let this own me. Besides I'm so close to finding what I'm after only a few more pieces and I'll be able to make it a reality. There is another piece there and I need to get it, Midas needs to get it, besides I have a reputation to uphold man, I'm expected to be a an event right?" Midas sarcastically joked to his friend after giving a deadly serious gaze.
"…I couldn't stop you from leaving even If I wanted to I get that, but just do me a favor come back in one piece this time that's all I ask alright?" Jack said to Midas after placing a hand on his shoulder, and returning his serious gaze with one of concern.
"Deal now get ready Atlas Midas the Golden Thief is about to party, and I intend to knock all your socks off!" Midas laughed before he left for the airship going to Atlas and the party.
"I hope your ready for tonight Weiss your going to be upholding the family name at this event. All the eyes will be on you, I hope you can understand the gravity of this burden you have tonight little sister?" Winter Schnee asked her younger sister Weiss over their scroll call.
"…Yes I understand Winter, you can tell father that everything will proceed elegantly, and I'll represent our family properly among our peers tonight." Weiss said back to her older sister with a slight hesitation in her voice.
"That's good don't worry know that your old enough you'll only have to go to a few of these events. They can get a bit…tasking but its worth it to keep good ties with the rest of Atlas and other influencal people. That's your duty tonight as a member of he Schnee family, I know you'll do great good bye for now sister?" Winter said to back to Weiss in a strict tone with a subtle hint of compassion mixed in before hanging up.
"My duty as a member of the Schnee family…right?" Weiss said out loud to herself after her sister hung up.
"Ah Atlas hello old friend its been quite awhile since I've been within your borders. Breath in that militaristic atmosphere that just oozes out of every wall, if theirs a good time to be found in this country it isn't here hahah. But seriously now lets get a good look around shall we?" Midas thought to himself after the airship landed in Atlas capital city home to the Schnee DUST companies corporate headquarters. After landing he took a good look around him on the way to the party, the skies of Atlas were littered with airships, and it seemed like almost every corner was covered with an armed soldier. But on the tail end of this observation Midas saw what the people of Atlas gave up in privacy, they gained back ten fold in technological advancement, few places in all of Remnant could hold a candle to the advanced appearance of this city.
"That's what I've always liked about you Atlas, the give and take that comes with all your progress, each leap forward is set back with several steps backwards, isn't that so like life. This country is like any other one, you have plenty of rich, greedy, cut throats who do nothing but stomp down regular people to keep their wealth and even increase…again how like life. Of course I'd find my way back here once again, its practically a breeding ground for people like me isn't that right my friend?" Midas thought to himself as he walked the streets of Atlas towards the event, and stopping in front of a store with the Schnee family logo on it before moving on again.
"I'm sorry sir but are you on the list? If not I'll have to ask you to vacate the premises right now." A bouncer swarmed with security robots at the entrance to the grand event hall in the heart of the city said to Midas once he made it to the very front of the waiting line.
"Why yes yes I am good sir check the name Sadim Magnus I should be on the list right about there?" Midas said with a slight chuckle to the bouncer as he used the fake name his contact created for him to get him past the front door. Sadim Magnus a international DUST salesmen invited to the party to represent his companies interests with the Schnee cooperation, any investigation would lead to fake information that went back at least a year.
"Of apologizes Mr. Magnus here you are standard procedure I'm sure your used it to right on in now, the event is about to start now." The bouncer said to Midas who with a sly grin was welcomed into the massive event hall.
Big couldn't even do justice to describe the hall that the party was being held within. It was like its own little world split into different sections and tiers. One tier had games, one had food, another with bars and lounges, and the in the middle a large dance floor with elegant music playing to the dancing of partygoers.
The people invited to the party were also split up into different parts as well, their were those losing themselves in the entertainment of the party, and those using it as yet another business opportunity among different social classes. And than FAR off in one little corner sat a lone white haired girl around Midas's age, in a truly stunning white dress and snowflake themed mask. She was clearly the host of the party and the one with the highest social standing, as everyone avoided her like the plague out of fear of insulting her or her family…target acquired.
"…Might I ask the fair maiden for her hand in a dance tonight. I mean it seems a shame to get so dressed up not to enjoy your own party? If that is not to forward of me of course?" Midas said to Weiss after to the shock of everyone in the hall walked right up to her, took a bow, and than extended his hand for her to take in a dance.
"You do know who I am correct, and you act like you have proper educate so surely you know its rude to ask for a lady's hand in anything before introducing yourself?" Weiss said to Midas before tilting her head away from him in a pout.
"Of course how rude of me Miss Schnee, you are correct my apologizes. My name is Sadim Magnus, and as a gentlemen educate demands that I save the lovely maiden and gracious host from total boredom. I'm sure I can salvage this night for you if you simply allow me to?" Midas said to Weiss before sticking his hand out again for her to take.
"That's better Mr. Magnus, now I highly doubt you can salvage this night for me, but I'd love to see you try especially since you appear not to be going anywhere soon…WOW HEY WAIT A MINUTE!" Weiss said to Midas before taking his had, and getting energetically dragged to the dance floor by him.
"Oh relax Miss Schnee just follow my lead, and I swear your going to have a good time. Don't let these on lookers drag you down, I think its time for you to enjoy yourself, and as a gentlemen it's my duty to see you do. You can even pick the first dance alright?" Midas said after taking Weiss's hand.
After dragging her out on to the dance floor Midas let Weiss take the led in their dance, just as the live band began playing a smooth and regal sounding piano ballad. Weiss taking Midas up on his offer, brought him in for a slow and proper waltz dance. Something Midas found adorable of course the rich girl went for the waltz, one of the most prim and proper forms.
As the two young teens slowly danced across the hall, everyone else who'd been dancing around them scattered leaving a very noticeable gap between them. A slight look of disappointment running quickly past Weiss's face not missed by Midas.
Unfortunately while Midas can talk a big game, and isn't exactly new to dancing he's still a bit clumsy after his eye injury. Something that became very apparent to Weiss during their slow dance.
"Your dancing like you have two left feet Mr. Magnus are you alright, or are you "just" a pretty face. Unless you can pull off a miracle with your dancing I think we're done here?" Weiss said to Midas as the two continued their waltz.
"Perish the thought Ms. Schnee I just thought it would be bad form to make the host look anything, but stunning at her big party. However if you insist I sweep you off your feet...I can do that to?" Midas said with a smirk before spinning Weiss around, bending down, and catching her again when she fell back. He than signaled the band, whom began to change the tempo of their music from classical to free and loose. Everything was going according to plan of course.
"Wh...who gave you permission to request a music change from my company's music staff? A...and what are you doing everyone's watching us Mr. Magnus this is hardly becoming!" Weiss said with a blushed face as she felt all the fellow party goes gaze on them.
"Thats the point my dear this is "your" party, but you've let "educate" and "appearance" stop you from truly enjoying it. This night doesn't have to be about your families company or any of these people, it be about you the true star of the show. I said I'd salvage this night for you and I meant it, lets bring the walls down for this one night and just have fun?" Midas said to Weiss as he now took the lead and brought her in face to face for a tango dance.
"b...but i...I don't know the steps for this dance, i'm afraid I'd be the one with two left feet in this situation how mortifying." Weiss once again with a cute blushed face said to Midas as he continued guiding her into the steps of their tango.
"Oh don't be like that want to hear a secret...neither do I? I'm just doing what's coming naturally when I let go and have fun. Trust me don't knock till you try it." Midas said to a shocked Weiss as he continued to almost masterfully control their moves in their tango.
"So its just that "easy" what nonsense your a terrible liar Mr. Magnus...but if you insist fine i'll indulge you...ok Weiss easy one step at a time one...two...three!" Weiss pouted to Midas before slowly trying to follow his steps on her own naturally without his help, much to her disbelief it was working and she was loving ever second of it.
"See their you go I knew you'd be a natural at this Ms. Schnee. Now that we're finally on equal "footing" again shall we let the real dance begin?" Midas said to Weiss as she rapidly started getting the hang of the tango dance, even catching up with Midas in terms of skill
"But of course this is to be expect from a member of the Schnee family dancing is just one of our many talents." Weiss gloated rather proudly to Midas while she let a "Real" smile form around her face this was some of the best fun she'd ever had in her entire life.
The two continued to dance the night away for hours, hours seemed to pass like minutes while the two young people were lost in their own little world. Until they came to their final dance with the spot light falling onto them as the music began to die down.
"...I don't know what to say, I can't say wether or not this night was saved or not, but i'll admit that was rather enjoyable Mr. Magnus thank for a pleasant evening." Weiss said to Midas before finally breaking off away from him, and going to greet her families associates she'd put off all night with a new pep in her step.
"Hearing you say that you truly enjoyed herself, thats all the thanks this gentlemen needs Ms Schnee. I hope you have a pleasant evening now remember the night is still young." Midas said to Weiss after they broke apart and went their separate ways. Of course once he vanished back into the crowd of party guests, he let a slight smirk cross his face for he now held Weiss's personal scroll with the all access building clearance, only a member of the Schnee family would have. It was of course locked and protected, but was for midas a relatively simple hack to unlock and once he did the flood gates opened up.
With his new skeleton key Midas removed himself from the party, and snuck his way to the nearest low security stair way to the Schnee complex behind the event hall. Childs play with his cloak after he vanished from sight, and opened every door with his key. After creeping into the main complex, Midas made a b-line for his real prize in the private collection room of Weiss's father and CEO of the Schnee corporation.
The room was filled with hundreds of priceless pieces of art, relics, and literature any of them would be worth a hefty fortune and while he was tempted Midas ignored all of them. Stopping only once he'd come to a single lonely case with a golden orb of metal covered with ancient looking markings.
"Oh hello beautiful I've been looking for you for a VERY long time. Don't worry now that I've found you, you'll be paired up with a lot of your pieces that i've already found...Oh was the party really that boring without me Ms. Schnee? Or should I call you Weiss if we're being real here?" Midas said to the artifact once he'd cut a circle in the class case, disabled the security pressure sensor, and removed his prize only to than dodge an ice attack shot at him from Weiss who'd followed him.
"So your just a common thief I should have known all that was just an act, and don't call me by my first name criminal. I certainly hope my fathers bobble was worth stealing from the most powerful family in Atlas, and more in importantly angering me!" Weiss said with rage in her voice as she slowly faced Midas and followed his movements.
"If it's any consolation not all of it was fake that man out on the dance floor was me not an act...but I did come here for a job and I can't leave without this so you get one chance move out of the way Weiss." Midas said with an unplanned heavy heart before he pointed one of his guns at her, and began slowly walking back away from her towards another exit.
"Consolation" who do you think I am some common girl, the fact you feel bad now about stealing from my family doesn't change the fact you could have just "Walked away" and chose not to. I'm furious at you, and I will not stand for it do you hear me now prepare yourself for a crushing defeat criminal!" Weiss yelled at Midas with small pockets of moisture from held back tears built in her eyes. She than launched herself straight towards him with her rapier for a quick strike.
"I really didn't want to do this to you Weiss, but fine we've both made our choices tonight haven't time to life with it. You'll find I'm not so easily subdued!" Midas yelled at her before he disappeared in a flash dodging her attack, and reappearing to her side kicking her.
"Argh was...was that your semblance just now so your a speed type? But no matter speed or not I shan't miss twice do you hear me!" Weiss yelled after getting back to her feet and launching a fire ball attack at him, which once again he dodged by using his mystery semblance.
"Looks like you did in fact just miss funny how that works huh? Now lets end this little game, your to "slow" to get any kind of hit on me sorry. Now i'm leaving and i'm taking my prize wit...WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU IDIOT, WERE ON THE SIXTH STORY HERE!" Midas shouted while just as he was about to leave consumed by her anger and not thinking straight Weiss did another launching attack at him, while he was standing in front of a window. He could have dodged the attack, but if he did she would have gone right out the window by herself and die, so without a second thought Midas positioned himself to try, and stop the attack in its tracks only to in vein get taken out the window with Weiss falling rapidly towards a deep fountain in front of the building.
"What is with me and women falling from extreme heights? Alright Ms Schnee you so own me for this!" Midas as he grabbed Weiss while in free fall, and blasted the water with boom stick moments before hitting it cushioning their landing.
After pulling both of them out of the water from the crash Midas got up to leave, but made one last look back to make sure Weiss was ok, and noticed that he was unconscious and not breathing. Well this is NOT how imagined my night going, options I could just leave her here and hope for the best she might die though or...theirs that option to?" Midas thought to himself before walking over to Weiss, and administering CPR for her which while it did work moments before Weiss coughed the water out of her lungs she woke up to midas kissing her and slapped him HARD in the face.
"Ok I'll admit probably deserved that, your welcome for saving you from drowning by the way? I really must say Miss Schnee you really threw a monkey wrench into my plans, but seeing as were both to exhausted to keep going lets call it a night shall we?" Midas said after getting back to his feet, and walking away.
"...Why didn't you move, I saw you had plenty of time to use your semblance to dodge it, but you didn't why?" Weiss demanded after she also got back onto her feet.
"WHY" you would have fallen to your death if I didn't stupid, what other reason do I need. I'm a thief not a killer, and for your information my name is Midas The Golden Thief. If you want to try and stop me again I welcome another dance anytime, but until than try to remember what I said life's more enjoyable when you let go and just be yourself...goodbye Weiss." Midas said to a stunned and blushing Weiss before he disappeared in a golden DUST smoke screen.
"...I really hate that guy." Weiss said to herself without realizing she was touching her lips, and rapidly pulling back once he did.
"And the conquering young hero returns, went for a swim did we? Those suits don't mix well with water and are never quite right after you dry them off, something it seems like you've quickly realized." Jack said to Wraith while sarcastically clapping after he returned home from his heist, with his nice suit now ruined from fighting and water.
"Oh ha ha very funny, I just got into a little unexpected trouble and I had to to...hey what are you laughing at?" Wraith said to Jack show showed him Weiss's slap mark on his face in the mirror. The shock of witch undid the special visual effect Midas does to make his white hair look blonde.
"Oh nothing lady killer now please continue what you were saying about trouble." Jack laughed after tossing Wraith a change of clothes to put on later.
"S...shut up you don't know what your talking about, get your mind out of the gutter...my point is I got into some trouble, but I did find another of the pieces this hunt. Not a clue or a hint hidden inside another relic, but an actual one of the twelve pieces get a look!" Midas said to Jack while looking away with a blush, before tossing him the golden bobble he'd stolen from Weiss's father.
"Interesting little trinket and this makes what your seventh piece now right...but a piece to what exactly?" Jack said while he examined the orb in his hand before tossing it back to Wraith.
"...I think its time I tell you that actually, your constant worrying made me realize your going to have to learn about it eventually at some point now. Its better to have my best friend on my side for this when I'm so close to finishing so check this out." Wraith said to Jack as he tapped a few of the runes in a certain order and activated something.
"Hey hey i've told you before man we're brothers and thanks for finally including me in...ok wow so this is what you've been hiding." Jack said in amazement to his stubborn little foster brother before he in amazement gazed at what he just revealed...
A/N 2: And done...whats that you want to know what Jack just saw Wraith/Midas do with the orb? Well all will be revealed in the final prologue Yellow chapter when Midas first meets Yang. You will also get an explanation for what Midas's semblance really is. Also the time line of the prologues is in order yellow, black, white, and red. Yellow will be done very soon. Yellow should be out around the next day after this chapter. I've just started summer courses and I need a good distraction in my down time, so expect at least 3-4 chapters this week.

I would very much like to have a fan art made of Midas, but unfortunately I lack the artistic skills to do so, thats where you come in. If you are good at drawing please could someone make the fan art of what they think Midas would look like in RWBY. The best one will be the new story cover art.
