Chapter 35

Annalise's POV

"Um … Good morning." I shyly mumble when I see Nessie and Jacob standing under the door frame to Embry's room. The apples of my cheeks heat in embarrassment when Embry's arm wraps tighter pulling me closer to him. Lucky for him that he is still sleeping unaware that my cousin and friend are standing in the room looking at us amused and angry expressions.

"Good morning? That's all you have to say?" Well, Nessie was the angry one. Her brown orbs pierced through me as she crossed her arms. Even with that slight frown she was beautiful, I don't think Nessie can be anything but beautiful. Her long hair over her shoulders and her designer clothes giving her a superior aura, even though Nessie inst shallow. "I've been worried." She sighs.

I licked my lips. "Sorry. it's just-" I swallow and look over at Embry. He was truly beautiful with his long lashes curling over his cheeks, and his mop of hair sticking in all places on the pillow. His thin pink lips were slightly parted as he breathed in softly. The heat rating from him was like my personal heater, even if I don't really need it, it felt nice. "Can we talk outside?" I whispered softly making sure not to disturb Embry. It's still a miracle he hasn't woken up.

I looked over at them and tugged the blanket closer to me. This situation was still mortifying to me, and them just standing there looking at me, us, wasn't helping.

Upon noticing my discomfort Jacob chuckle softly. "Sure. Nessie and I will make breakfast. Wake up sleeping beauty over there. His garage shift starts in thirty minutes."

Nessie finally cracks a grin still looking at us. She takes a few steps inside and that's when I finally notice a pile of neatly folded clothes in her hands. She places them in the closest chair to her. She looks over at my expression of confusion and smiles before pivoting and walking out, taking Jake with her.

When I hear the soft click of the door I relax. I fell my body sink into the mattress after my tense muscles loosen up. I smile widely as I rub circles in Embry's hand that is laying gently at my waist. I close my eyes savoring this moment with him even if he's sleeping. It was peaceful and I felt complete.

"Finally." A deep husky voice whispered from next to me.

My eyelids fluttered opened and I turn to look at Embry who was staring at me with a cute amused expression. His deep chocolate tired-filled eyes were filled mirth. His expression was light and bright. He look genuinely happy that I couldn't help but smile at hw cute he looked.

In a split second he was on top of me shuffling my smaller body under him. As he look down at me his lips stretched even wider in a beautiful smile. His hypnotizing orbs bounce around my whole face as if he was trying to memorize it. I watch silently taking all of him as well. My fingers wonder on their own as they wrapped themselves over his big biceps, feeling the smooth skin underneath them.

My eyes darted back to his only to see them darken all the while biting down on his bottom lip. He brought one of his large hands to my face, gently caressing my jaw, cheek until his fingers tuck my hair behind my ear. I see a small smirk as he watches my cheeks turn to a deep red.

"I thought they'd never leave." He mumbles.

I frown lightly. "What?" But as I think of what he said I couldn't help but giggle. "Where you awake the whole time?"

He lets out a small embarrassed grin as he nods. "Yeah."

I laugh as he groans and shoves his face at the crook of my neck. Out of instinct my hand lands over his unruly hair and my fingers lace between his thick strands hugging him closer. I was still laughing. I can almost feel his grin against my skin. Eventually my laughter dies and my cheeks heat again when I feel a small wet butterfly kiss he place on my neck. His laughter started knowing he had my in a blushing mess.

"I love you." I blurt out. But I meant them. God did I meant them.

His eyes find mine in an instant. His wasn't smiling or laughing. He looked serious. His eyes where swimming in warmth and looked deep with emotion. His hand held my face, the pad of his thumb brushing the skin on my cheek. "I love you."

A rush of thick emotion grasp me in a tight hold and choked me deliciously. I couldn't take it anymore as I wrapped my hands behind his neck and crashed my lips on his. He responded immediately like if he was waiting for it. Unlike last night he didn't let his hands wonder, maybe to make sure he didn't go too far. Instead he held my head gently. My hands, on the other hand, rub his back before pushing him closer to me.

He lets go, his eyelids still closed as he inhaled contently. I watch him in amazement. "We should probably get up." He whispers, hesitantly.

I bit my lip and nod. "Yeah. You know, before Nessie burst in here."

His eyes spring open looking down at me and chuckles. "She would, wouldn't she?"

I nod laughing. "Yeah."

He pecks my lips two times, one after the other, taking me by surprise before standing up. My eyes land over his washboard of abs and they travel up before looking at his amused expression. He doesn't say anything maybe because he doesn't want my face to explode of embarrassment. Instead he sticks out his hand helping me out of the bed. Standing in front of him he wraps his giant arms around me hugging. I press my cheek over his chest and wrap my arms around him.

"I love you so much." He portrays quietly as if he was making sure the rest of the supernatural ears around us didn't hear him.

"And I love you." I felt my body heat in this indescribable feeling every time I say the words. It hasn't been long but they were real and pure and that's all that mattered. I gasp lightly and loosen my grip to lock my eyes with his. "You slept, the whole night!"

His eyes lighten in wonderment and amazement as he looked at me. "I did." He tenderly held me making sure to hold my gaze. "And it was all because of you beautiful."

Before anything else was said, shared between us, I jumped at the sudden knock on the door. We both shifted our body to look at the still closed wooden door.

"Embry, the food is literally getting cold. And Jake is eating It all." Nessie said form the other side.

I giggle. "We're going." I say.

We hear as her footsteps sound farther away before looking at each other and laughing. I let go of him walking to the chair with the clothes. Embry eyes the clothes Nessie left for me but says nothing. He calmly walks to his drawers pulling out other pair of sweats and a black t-shirt.

He looks at me and smiles. "I'll go change in the bathroom. You can use anything you want. I mean-" He scratches the back of his neck. "Nothing really fits and you have clothes there. I meant that you can use anything- no, that's not what I meant. It's that-"

"Embry." I cut in laughing lightly at his cuteness. "Thank you. I'll be fine. I'll meet you in the kitchen, yeah?"

A sheepishly smile finds its way to his face as he nods. He kisses my forehead and walks out. Once I know he's in the bathroom I rush to the mirror in his room and I finger brush my hair. I groan when I see how I look, like a zombie, my skin now looked pale and the red on my cheeks vanished. My hair was sticking all over the place and the over-sized t-shirt wasn't helping. I instantly slip off the Embry's shirt before slipping on the clothes Nessie brought. A pair of dark jeans and I nice flow-y pink shirt, sleeveless shirt with thick straps.

I give myself a once over shrugging. It was as I good I was going to get. I wasn't that bad and it helped that I didn't have so many pesky human traits. Being half-vampire has its giant perks. I pivot and walk towards the door opening it. I could still hear Jacob and Nessie talking amongst themselves but I don't try and make out their words. Even with my enhance hearing I have respect over their privacy.

Sadly, I couldn't say the same for Nessie. As soon as I made my appearance in Embry's small kitchen she perked up and smile widely at me. Just one good look at her and I knew she had possible heard, if not everything, she heard most of mines and Embry's conversation. Jacob was sitting next to her trying to swallow a mass amount of food down, but still manage to look like he was smiling. I guess both of them heard.

I tried to suppress my blush but when I smelt my favorite scent in the whole world come in to the same space as me it was impossible. Nessie's face broke out in a even wider grin- if that's possible- as she saw the way Embry wrapped an arm around my torso tugging me flushed against his front.

"Hey, leave me some food Jake. Nessie made some for me too." Embry scowled but you can hear the clear playfulness in his tone.

Jacob smile once he finally swallowed the huge amount of food and smirk. "it's not my fault you took forever."

Embry chuckled whole-heartily. His giant hand found my small one and lace his fingers with mine causing my eyes to find his. "It wasn't my fault either. I was under the Annie spell."

I smile at him just simply mesmerized by him. I just loved everything about him, everything.

"Annie." Nessie calls me. "It's nice and sunny out."

My eyes dart to the rectangle window over the sink in the kitchen to see the bright sun and birds chirping. I beam. It looked the perfect day. Why wouldn't it? I was so happy words couldn't describe my feeling.

"It is nice." I agree.

"We should probably leave." Nessie said suddenly being next to me.

I frown as I look at her. "Why?"

"Well you disappeared yesterday. Good thing Momma and Daddy were hunting and I was able to follow you're scent." She explains softly. I do notice the way her eyes instantly soften considerably as she holds my hand. "Annie … I found the animal trail."

My heart begins to pound widely and my chest tightens. These are time were I curse to even have a heart beat and I knew they could hear it perfectly. My eyes widen in horror and I snatched my hand away. My head began shaking side to side. I feel the binomial gust of wind telling me I am losing control. "No. I didn't mean too … I- I-"

"Annie." Embry calls me softly placing a comforting hand on my shoulder. His presence alone calms me even in this situation. And to show that the wind that was picking up stops.

"Annie." Nessie takes both my trembling hands. She rubs them with her thumbs before tugging me to her and hugging me tightly. She hums my lullaby and rubs my back. She suddenly stops the hum and coos, "It's okay. It's alright."

I let go and silently wipe the tears with my back of my hands. "You- you don't think of me as a monster?":

She frowns confused. "Why would you think that?"

I shrug and sigh out heavily. "Did you see the way I left the animals?" I whisper shakily. My eyes widen again in sheer horror when a thought comes to my mind. "Did Uncle Edward and Aunt Bella see them?"

She shakes her head. "Jake and I took care of it. Me moved the bodies and well … nature will take it's coarse."

"I lost control. I-" I try to explain but her soft 'Shh' stops me.

"You don't have to say anything. I get it. I understand." She smiles sweetly at me. "But we must go. I know Momma and Daddy are back and will be looking for us."

I nod slowly. "Okay."

I was quickly brought in a bone crushing hug. Embry shoved his nose in my hair and inhaled deeply as he held me in a steel like grip. "I'll come visit as soon as I'm done with my shift."

I smile into the hug. "Okay. I love you."

I felt his breathing falter along with his heart hammering rapidly. "I love you too."

…

Ness and I walked silently back to the Main house. Separating form Embry after the whole 'I love yous' was harder than I thought. Those three simple words brought our bond together, it was stronger. I just wanted to be around him all the time now. More so than before.

But as soon as I thought about everything else the want to be with him lessen a little. Only a little. Nessie hasn't brought up my whole ripping the animals to shreds. Which I am thankful. I am still highly embarrassed that lost so much control. I don't even remember hunting all I remember is feeling disgusted with myself in the end.

Not only that. I still needed to heard word form Momma and Daddy and Jessie. It still worried me that he was in a car with Haylee, that is sadly his singer. And there is Axel. My brother, my rock all those four years. I still ached for him because he was there every single day with me and now, every since coming here he's almost never here. I just hope he's okay.

Nevertheless, all my worries flooded to the back of my mind when Nessie began humming. She had a bright smile on her face as she walked next to me. Her teal summer dress flowed and sway in every elegant step she took. She turned probably feeling my eyes on her and she sent me a warm sweet smile.

At that moment I noticed her deep warm brown eyes glowed with happiness and love for me. it's true, she didn't look at me differently. I was lucky to have her in my life. I was lucky to have family.

We our general speed and agility to avoid spots humans would most likely trip or fall over we made it to the main house. The different scents of my family hit me at once and enveloped me like a warm hug. I couldn't help but smile.
