Mario, Luigi, Prof. E. Gadd, Toad, Matches, and Booigi watched as the shack containing the girls flew towards a creepy, foreboding-looking castle on top of a high hill, followed by the two bats carrying Sibella.
"Looks like we've located their roost." Prof. E. Gadd commented.
"Oh goody." Luigi nervously said. "I can't wait to go inside. It-a looks so inviting."
"Whoever lives there certainly thinks so." Toad replied.
"Indeed, Toad." Prof. E. Gadd responded "And whoever lives there currently has the girls in their custody."
"Well," Mario piped up. "Then it-a looks like we have to go in and-a get the girls back." He pointed to the castle. "Let's-a go!"
With that, they started up the hill towards the castle. However, no sooner then they begun, than Toad stopped, beginning to feel like they were missing someone. He turned around, and noticed that Luigi was still standing where they were earlier, completely stock still, staring up at the castle with a look of fear on his face.
"Uh, Luigi?" Toad said to him. "If we wanna save the girls, that kinda means we have to start walking up to the castle they were taken to. You know that, right?" Luigi didn't seem to hear Toad's words, as he just continued to stare at the castle. Toad, seeing that Luigi wasn't responding to him, turned to the others.
"Guys!" Toad called, getting their attention. Mario, Matches, Booigi, and the professor stopped in their tracks and turned back to look at Toad.
"Yes, Toad?" Prof. E. Gadd asked. "What is it?" Toad jerked his thumb back at the petrified Luigi.
"We kind of have a problem." He said. The others soon gathered around Luigi.
"Luigi?" Mario asked, but Luigi didn't respond. Mario waved his hand in front of Luigi's eyes, but Luigi didn't seem to notice, just staring up at the castle.
"Oh dear." Prof. E. Gadd said. "It seems he's too petrified to move a muscle." Toad turned to the professor.
"Well, what do we do?" He asked. "We can't just leave him here." The professor turned to Toad.
"You're right, Toad." He replied. He put his hand under his chin and began to think. "There must be some way to get Luigi up to the castle." As Mario, Toad, and the Professor pondered how to get Luigi to move, Toad thought of something.
"I think I know exactly what to do." Toad said. He then turned to Luigi. "Uhh, Luigi." Toad said. Luigi didn't seem to respond. Toad continued talking. "You know, if we don't get up to that castle, we'll have to answer to the girls' dads, you remember?" That seemed to do it, snapping Luigi out of his trance.
"Well then!" He said, looking at the others. "What are we-a waiting for? Those girls need us. Let's-a go!" And with that, he dashed off toward the castle. The others followed close behind. Meanwhile, up in the castle, the brainwashed Grimwood Girls were all standing before Revolta.
"It's been so long since we had company, Creeper." Said Revolta, wringing her hands in delight.
"Heh, I knew you'd be pleased, Revolta." The Grim Creeper replied, looking up at her.
"Yeeees." Revolta answered, looking down at the Grim Creeper. "Because these five will remain here permanently." She laughed evilly at this.
"But, Revolta." The Grim Creeper asked, his voice taking on a concerned tone. "What happens when your spell wears off?"
"Don't upset yourself, Creeper." Revolta answered. "I'm preparing a spell to make them evil forever. At the stroke of midnight, I'm going to Revoltize them."
"Revoltize them?" The Grim Creeper asked. "Oh, how revolting."
"Yees, isn't it though?" Revolta asked, looking fond of what she's going to do. She then turned back to the Grim Creeper, her four hands on her hips. "Now stop cringing and get those girls to work!"
"Yes, Revolta." The Grim Creeper meakly said, turning to the girls. Outside, Mario, Luigi, Toad, Prof. E. Gadd, and Matches managed to reach the front door of the castle. They stood in front of the door, examining the massive padlock on it. E. Gadd stood in front of the door with his chin between his thumb and index finger.
"Looks like this is the only way in." He said. "And unlike our previous adversaries, I don't think this one left the key under a nearby rock somewhere. We may have to find an alternate means of opening this door." Booigi got an idea, he turned down to Matches, getting his attention. He made some Boo noises at Matches, which Matches picked up on. He smiled and nodded and walked up to the lock.
"Hmm," The Professor replied. "It seems as if Booigi has suggested that Matches take a shot at the lock."
Matches looked at the lock. He put on a welding visor and began taking a deep breath, his body turning red. He then let loose a large flame on the lock, causing it to glow red from the heat. Matches took off the visor to inspect his work, but growled in disappointment upon seeing the lock return to its normal colour.
"Oh boy." Luigi said. "The lock's-a fireproof. What are we going to do now?"
"Calm-a down, Luigi." Mario said. "I'm sure we'll-a think of something."
"But what?" Toad asked. After a bit of thinking, Booigi got an idea. He floated up to the lock and stuck one of his limbs in it. After wiggling his hand around in the lock for a few seconds, listening to the tumblers inside shift, there was a click, and the lock opened. Booigi giggled in satisfaction.
"Well, how about that?" Toad said. "You sure are a Boo of many talents, Booigi." Booigi cackled in thanks. After getting the padlock off the door, the four pushed it open.
"Woah." said Toad in awe. "This place is huge."
"Indeed, Toad." Prof. E. Gadd replied.
"Eh." Mario quipped. "Bowser's-a places are usually bigger."
"Well, regardless." The Professor spoke up. "If we want to find the girls, we may have to split up." Luigi looked down at the Professor, fear evident on his face.
"What?" He asked. The professor turned to look up at Luigi.
"I'm afraid so, Luigi." Professor E. Gadd responded. "We may have a better chance of finding the girls if we split up. Cover much more ground that way, you see." Luigi looked up from the Professor, not liking the idea of being alone in the castle. Mario put his hand on Luigi's shoulder, getting his attention.
"Don't-a worry, Luigi." Mario said comfortingly. "We won't go completely alone. We can-a split into teams of two."
"Excellent idea, Mario." The professor spoke up. "Let's split up!" He then began picking out the teams. "Mario, Luigi, you two go down the hallway on the left." He said, pointing to a hallway on the left of the back wall. "Booigi, Matches, you two go down the hallway on their left." he pointed down the hallway on their right. He then turned to Toad. "Toad, you and I will check the upper floors." He said, pointing up the flight of steps on the back wall. He then turned back to the others. "Agreed?" He asked. Everyone stared at the Professor for a few moments, as if trying to process all that he said. They then looked at each other for agreement to the plan. After some thinking, they all smiled and nodded before looking back to the Professor.
"Oh yeah." Mario said, fist-pumping.
"I'll do it." Luigi said, nodding.
"Sure thing, Professor!" Toad said.
"Yeah!" Matches growled. Booigi cackled in agreement.
"Excellent!" Professor E. Gadd said, hands on his hips. He then turned to the stairs, waving the others to get started. "Let's get to it then. If you see any of the girls, bring them here to the front door. Good luck, everyone!" With that, they all set off in the directions they were all assigned to go. As Mario and Luigi walked down the hallway they were assigned to, Luigi noticed something to his left covered by a tarp. Curious, he walked over to it. It appeared to be something taller than him, but from the sides, he could tell it was also a very thin object. Changing his Poltergust 3000's nozzle from flashlight to vacuum, Luigi started to suck on the tarp. At first, the tarp didn't seem to want to move. However, after a few good yanks, Luigi was able to get the tarp off the object. The object turned out to be a standing mirror. However, that wasn't what caught Luigi's immediate attention. In the reflection of the mirror, Luigi saw, to his horror, a much more monstrous reflection of himself.
"YAAH!" Luigi said, jumping and landing on his bottom. Luigi crawled backwards, away from the mirror. As soon as he was a good distance away from the mirror, Luigi stopped, shaking from what he saw. After sitting on the ground for a few moments to recollect himself, Luigi slowly got back up. He stared at the mirror for a few moments, deciding to confirm what he saw in the reflection. He slowly inched back to the mirror, stopping next to the mirror. Slowly peeking back into the mirror, Luigi once again saw his monstrous reflection. "YAAAAAH!" Luigi shouted in panic, turning and running in the opposite direction. "MAAARIOOOO!" He shouted. Hearing his brother, Mario turned around to look at Luigi running up to him.
"Luigi?" Mario asked, confused, as Luigi stopped in front of him. "What is it?"
Luigi began pointing back in the mirror's direction. "Th-th-th-there!" He stammered. "Mirror Monster!"
Mario looked back at where Luigi was pointing, seeing the mirror. He looked at Luigi, then back to the mirror as he started walking towards it. He stopped in front of the mirror, seeing a more monstrous reflection of himself in it. He looked at it, and started to laugh.
"Haaa ha ha ha ha ha!" Mario laughed. He made a face at the reflection and turned back to Luigi. "Luigi." Mario said. "It's-a just your reflection. There's no need to worry." Luigi trusted his brother, and sighed in relief, placing his hand on his chest. However, it immediately vanished and he went rigid again as he saw something terrifying. Not thinking of what to do next, Luigi turned and ran down the hall. "Luigi!" Mario shouted after his brother. "Where are you go-iiiiiiiiing?!" Mario shouted as he felt someone grab him from behind and pull him backwards. The monstrous reflection of Mario leapt out of the mirror Mario had just been standing in front of and turned back to it, seeing Mario staring back at him from inside of the mirror.
"Hey!" Mario shouted indignantly, banging on the glass with his fists. "Let-a me out of here this instant!" The monster only laughed at Mario's predicament before proceeding down the hallway after Luigi.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the castle, Tanice was mopping the floor with the Grim Creeper towering over her.
"That's it, Revolta likes a clean lair." The Grim Creeper told her. He then noticed something on the floor. "Hey!" He shouted, pointing down at what he noticed. "You missed a spot!" However, Tanice slung the mop over her shoulder, and turned to the Grim Creeper, eyes closed.
"I obey only Revolta." Tanice simply stated. She then picked up the bucked, turned around, and walked off, hitting the Grim Creeper with the still-wet mop as she did so.
"Oh, never mind." The Grim Creeper said, wiping the water off the top of his head. Once he was done, he put his vines on his sides. "It'll soon be midnight anyway." He then walked off. At that time, Elsa had moved to stand of the mirror Mario was trapped in. Elsa sprayed cleaning liquid on the mirror and wiped it with a rag. As she did, Mario appeared in the mirror.
"Elsa!" Mario shouted, happy to find one of the girls. "Thank goodness it's-a you." His face then turned serious. "Listen, find Luigi. Tell him I'm-a stuck in here, and that there's this-a monster version of me loose in the castle."
"I only obey Revolta." Elsa said plainly, spraying more cleaning liquid onto the mirror. Namely, she sprayed it in the spot where Mario's face was. She then started wiping the mirror, Mario's face being dragged along the rag's path.
"Revolta?" Mario asked as Elsa continued to wipe. "Who is-a she?" Elsa's rag then moved to wipe the part of the mirror Mario's belly was on, causing him to move it around to Elsa's rag.
"The witch of the web." Elsa explained. "At midnight she makes up part of her evil team, forever." As she said the final word in her sentence, Elsa walked off.
"Elsa!" Mario shouted. "Come back!" He started pounding on the glass in fright. "Don't-a listen to Revolta, listen-a to your chef!" Elsa, however, didn't listen, and went on her way. Down the hall, Luigi was nervously creeping, shakily pointing the Poltergust 3000 flashlight in every direction. He tried to hum a song to himself to calm himself down. However, with his fear, the humming was shaky and nervous as well. Behind him, the monster from the mirror had caught up with Luigi. As Luigi crept along, the monster reached out a hand to Luigi and tapped him on the shoulder. Luigi jumped.
"Yipe!" he shouted, dropping the flashlight. Luigi landed on his bottom, looking around quickly to see what was behind him. Luigi saw a set of blue overalls over a red shirt and white gloves. Luigi looked up.
"Mario?" Luigi asked, nervously.
"Luigi." The figure first assumed to be Mario answered, his voice very raspy and sinister-sounding. Luigi's fear grew as he begun to think about what this figure might be. He reached over for the flashlight, and shined it up at the figure. As soon as the light hit the figure's face, Luigi knew right away that he was in danger.
"You're gonna get eaten by me!" The mirror monster growled at Luigi.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!" Luigi screamed. He crawled on his back away from the monster for a bit before scrambling to his feet and running down the hall with the monster chasing after him. "MARIO!" Luigi screamed in fear. "HELP!"
"He can't help you now!" The monster said, hot on Luigi's trail. "No one can help you now!" The monster continued chasing Luigi, laughing evilly as he did.
(A/N: For anyone confused about the character Booigi. Well, he was a character of my own design back when I daydreamed about what a Luigi's Mansion cartoon would be. Booigi would be like Slimer from the Ghostbusters, which I figured a Luigi's Mansion cartoon would be. Thus, when I was writing this, I thought of including him.)
