Hey guys, this is short, but I really wanted to get something up. I have all these ideas in my head but when I sit down to write, nothing comes out :(

There is a continuation to this chapter but I just wanted to get something posted.

Let me know if you're happy for me to continue with this story. Apologies for the super long delay!

Dani POV

You know that feeling you get when you're being watched. It's unsettling and it's how I was woken up this morning. I opened my eyes to see an almost 3 year old beside the bed looking up at me. Glancing at the clock, I see it's just after 5am.

"Hey bud, what are you doing awake so early?" I whisper

"It's Christmas!" He says excitedly, attempting to whisper back and failing.

"It is but it's really early" My eyes have adjusted to the dark and I can make out the features of his face. I can tell he doesn't really care what time it is.

"Okay what about this, you climb in here and we have some Christmas cuddles for a bit before we get up" I offer.

He climbs up with me and under the blankets. The apartment is kept at a warm temperature but it's still cool enough to snuggle. Santana is fast asleep on the other side of me and Bailey and I scoot a little closer to the middle of the bed, her arm finding me and wrapping around my waist. I pull Bailey in to me and lie back down and close my eyes. He lies back with me and closes his eyes but it's not even a minute later when I feel him sit up and stare at me again.

"Too excited?" I ask, opening one eye.

He doesn't even respond, he just grins at me. Jesus, this kid.

"Okay, how about we read a book? But we have to be quiet; your Mami is still sleeping."

He nods and leans over to the side table that holds a couple of his books. He can't reach so I sit forward holding him around the waist so he can grab a book. He pulls back with 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'Goodnight Construction Site'. I have come to learn that these are two of his favourites.

We get halfway through the first book when I hear Santana beside me.

"You never read to me" Bailey and I both turn towards her voice to see her with a playful pout.

"I figured you wouldn't enjoy The Very Hungry Caterpillar" She laughs.

"Bailey, are you hogging my girl?" He giggles then and cuddles in to me.

"My Den"

"Oh really? You think so?" Santana laughs and then starts tickling Bailey. His giggles are so contagious that I start laughing as well.

"Den! Help!" He squeals while wiggling around on the bed trying to escape Santana's tickles.

I put the books down and then Bailey and I hide under the blanket away from Santana.

'Hey where did you guys go?" Santana asks pretending she can't find us. Bailey is still giggling though so even if we were actually hiding, we'd be found in an instant.

Santana crawls under the blanket as well and wraps her arms around both of us showering us with kisses and Bailey and I are hit with another fit of giggles.

I pull the blanket off the three of us and we lay there for another few minutes wrapped up in each other.

"It's Christmas Mami!" Bailey says excitedly.

"I know mijo, you wanna get up now?"

"Yes!"

"Okay, why don't you go see if Santa has been and Dani and I will be there in a few minutes?"

"Okay Mami!" He says excitedly, climbing down from the bed and running out the door.

Santana wraps her arms back around me after we let Bailey out from between us.

"Good morning, how long ago did he wake you?"

"Not that long, I figured if we read a bit you could get a bit more sleep, I know you were up late. Sorry for falling asleep on you."

"It's okay, I got everything done pretty quickly once you weren't awake to distract me" She says teasingly.

I push her away gently "Ha ha very funny." She pulls me with her and kisses me hard, leaving me slightly breathless.

"Just kidding, you know you're my favourite distraction"

"I better be" I say jokingly. "It's Christmas" I say smiling at her.

"I know, we better get up before Bailey decides he doesn't want to wait to see what Santa brought him"

"You really should've thought that through, there's no way we're going to get him to eat breakfast before opening his presents now."

"Oh well" She says and starts kissing me again. When we come up for air I pull away from her.

"Okay, I could do that all day but let's get up" I say, maneuvering out of her arms and standing beside the bed holding my hand out for her.

"Fine" She huffs playfully but grabs my hand.

We walk hand in hand in to the lounge area to see Bailey sitting patiently by the Christmas tree.

"Why are you so cute?" I ask him as I let go of Santana to pick him up and lift him above my head until he starts giggling.

"Okay you two, let's have breakfast so we can open presents"

I carry Bailey in to the kitchen and sit him on a stool at the bench.

"Can we have pancakes?" Santana asks me with the cutest look on her face.

"YEAH!" Bailey cheers.

I've been so strict with my diet recently and I've kind of been inflicting my healthy food on them. I pretend to think it over.

"Hmmm.. Only because it's Christmas, but we have to have fruit with them"

"YAY" They're both cheering now. Anyone would think I never let them eat sugar.

"Babe, why don't you do the pancakes and I'll get the fruit ready. Bailey do you want some milk?"

"Yes please" He gives me a cheesy grin.

Santana put on some Christmas carols we were all singing along while making breakfast.

This day has started out perfectly.
