It was dark, the light around her seemed to have vanished and take the warmth with it, leaving her alone and cold in a place so dark that she felt fear rising up within her. Her hands raced to her arms, rubbing her hands quickly on her skin trying to bring back the heat to her body. She didn't know where she was or how she got there, all she knew was that she felt small and alone.

"Don't be afraid" a voice said, terrified she turned to her left, where the voice, seem to come from, but the darkness prevented her from seeing anything. Her heart was beating wildly in her chest. "Usagi it's alright I will not hurt you" the voice was gentle, serene and incredibly wise.

"Wh-who are you?" Usagi managed to whisper. A soft white light began to glow to her left and the image of a beautiful woman with long olive hair appeared. She wore green and white fuku, in her hands a long crystallized staff. The woman was smiling at Usagi, she was absolutely mesmerizing. When the soft glow of light disappeared the room in which Usagi stood in was suddenly dimly lit.

She was standing in what seemed like endless space surrounded by thick fog, before her and behind the beautiful woman was a large silver glowing gate that was closed. She felt a sense of familiarity with the woman who smiled at her patiently, Usagi didn't know where she was or how she got there but she had a feeling this woman had answers.

"Hello Serenity" her voice was just so angelic and soothing, but her words confused Usagi.

"Who…Who is Serenity?" maybe there had been some confusion and she was there in place of someone else.

"You are." Usagi chuckled nervously, she scratched her neck. Yeah there was most definitely a mix up

"I-I'm sorry there must be some kind of confusion; my name is Usagi…Usagi Tsukino." The woman smiled, she almost seemed like someone's mother hearing a fascinating story being told by her imaginative young child, and the child in this case was Usagi.

"I know your name Usagi, but I am accustomed to calling you Serenity, and I will continue to call you that until I die, princess."

"But I don't even know you! And why are you calling me a princess? And… Who are you?" there was a certain panic in her voice. Her body was stiff and the beautiful woman could tell she was still very much afraid.

"Calm down Serenity, My name is Setsuna, I am the gate keeper." Setsuna smiled and continued. "I have known you for Eons, Serenity." Usagi's eyes grew large…Eons…EONS! What the heck was wrong with that woman? "I know this information is a bit hard to swallow, which is why I intended to tell you everything slowly, one day at a time, but we need you back Serenity."

"You need me back where? I don't understand what you are talking about." There was something about this woman that made things seem so real and true, that even if she said the words Eons, Usagi believed her.

"I cannot tell you now Princess, but I must work quickly." A small object appeared before Setsuna glowing, when the light dimmed a golden broach was revealed, a diamond rested in the center. She placed it in Usagi's astonished hand. "There are many things going on all around you Serenity, things you have forgotten but that you must work quickly to remember. Do you recognize this broach?" Usagi looked down into her hand, it felt familiar but she did not recognize it.

"No"

"I didn't expect you too, with this broach you can call to me whenever you need me, just say my name or call out to Pluto, Now Serenity you need to pay really close attention." Setsuna closed her hand over Usagi's her face was solemn. "Within this broach is a powerful crystal, if this falls into the wrong hands it could mean global annihilation." Setsuna felt Usagi stiffen, her mouth parted in a choked question, she tried to pull her hand away but Setsuna held on tight. "This crystal is your responsibility Serenity"

"No" Usagi said, there wasn't fear but desperation in her voice, she struggled trying to pull away but Setsuna wasn't letting go, if anything she held on tighter.

"Usagi!" she said desperate "This planet is in trouble, someone is after the silver crystal; if they find it they will kill every living creature on this planet!" Setsuna's voice was urgent and although she knew it was too much too fast she needed to let her know, but Usagi was already in shock. Tears streamed down her face as she silently denied everything.

"I don't want this responsibility!" she shouted to Setsuna who let her go, Usagi stumbled and fell down, she looked at the older woman who held the broach.

"Is that why you forgot? Was the pressure too much princess?" Usagi looked down, ashamed for some reason; it was as if she was being reprimanded from something wrong she had done. "Serenity, are you prepared to be responsible for the death of an entire planet?" Usagi stopped breathing, her tears fell faster.

"What?" She was shaking from the fear and shock, she had gone cold.

"If something happens it'll be your fault, because you let everyone down!" Setsuna's voice was dark and cold; she kept blaming Usagi every word cut through her like a sharp blade.

"No! It's not my fault"

"Everything and everyone you know will be gone and it'll be your fault!" An Image appeared before her and she witnessed the death of millions of people, with each word Setsuna said she saw something horrible. Usagi's hand pressed hard at her ears, she wanted to block out the older woman but had no success her words seeped through and she heard her as clear as day. "You need to wake up!" she shouted.

"NO!" Usagi shouted, her hands pressing tighter to her ears. The images infiltrated her mind, the screams and cries of countless souls haunting her.

"WAKE UP!"

"NO!" she cried out, trembling and afraid. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" she shot up from her bed, the blinds were closed over the window so the room was engulfed in darkness. She was covered in sweat and her chest heaved up and down quickly. She was trembling. How many times had she awoken in such a panic? She felt cold and full of tension. Throwing the covers off of herself she went to the window and opened the blinds, letting the early noon sun come shining through hurting her eyes reminding her that she was still alive. Inhaling sharply she wondered at what point these nightmares would cease.

What were they even about? What was a Silver Crystal and why was it so important. Rubbing her face she headed towards the bathroom, her reflection in the mirror showed her just how haunted she was, for the past three weeks; no, since the moment she first opened her eyes, she knew she had forgotten something incredibly important. There were memories that didn't make sense, people that were faceless and nameless. A story to which the bits of pieces she knew of made no sense what so ever.

The day she woke up in the hospital had been so chaotic. When she opened her eyes and saw so many unfamiliar faces she completely forgot Dr. Mizuno's advice and panicked. Not right away, she tried to comprehend who the girls were and why they seemed to be smothering her but when she saw Mamoru Chiba in the room as if he belonged there something inside her snapped and she had kicked them out. She remembered Mamoru of all the faces other than her family, she remember how he tormented her as a young teenage girl and how much she really didn't like him. She didn't remember how it came to happen that he was so close to her but she couldn't accept that. Not at this moment.

Not to mention in the last few weeks she had been having some horrible nightmares.

She sat on the edge of the tub. This dream was different from the others. Before she would simply dream of the crystal and somehow know that it was a very important and crucial item. This dream however was like realizing a fear she had deep within her. What if the things she had forgotten were as important as she thought they were? It would mean that small object was so very precious and she had lost it. What was she going to do if it did fall into the wrong hands? She needed answers to so many unanswered questions but she knew of no one who could provide those answers she so desperately needed.

'If you ever need me call my name…..'

Those words circled in her head. Had that woman also been part of the dream or a memory, she seemed so urgent and desperate for her to find the golden broach. She had been so kind but cold at the same time. What was her name again? She had said it what had it been. Her phone rang startling her causing her to jump and rushed out of the bathroom to pick it up. Her hello came out shaky.

"Usagi…are you alright?" Motoki's voice brought her back from the deep reassess of her mind, she stood up out of embarrassment; she must have sounded so scared over the phone.

"Ye-Yeah!" her voice was hoarse and it took her a moment to speak normally. What's…uhm what's up?" Motoki chuckled slightly

"Our date….remember…." Usagi's confusion was only there for a brief moment before remorse followed. . "We have a brother sister date remember?" she had asked Motoki to spend time with her to try and take her mind off the stress she had been living the last couple of weeks and to spend time with her good friend but now she was so caught in her own internal problems that she had completely forgotten.

"Oh Motoki…I'm so sorry I completely forgot about it."

"I figured…why don't you just get dressed and we'll go to the arcade. You can drink a chocolate malt, play some cool games…relax." His invitation sounded so comforting to her right now.

"That sounds like heaven…Why don't you just meet me at the Arcade I kind of need some time to get ready and do some girl stuff…" she could feel Motoki smiling through the phone.

"Look the girls and Mamoru will most likely be there. Ok?" she said a soft ok knowing he was trying to warn her so that she didn't freak out on them too much before they both hung up.

A memory stirred as she put the phone on at the edge of the sink, something dark and painful. A memory she knew was hidden so far in her mind, that her hand rushed to her heart as the words echoed in her head.

'You are completely missing the point….'

'The point'

'The point…'

She exhaled sharply then walked back to the shower….what she needed was a very hot shower…..

… … …

"No Luna, the numbers were wrong. Look the width and height estimate another five months, not years." Amy's voice sounded a little annoyed as the small black cat that sat next to her refused to accept this new information.

"But Amy, if this is true than you girls are far from being ready to fight against this new enemy. And with Usagi mentally gone we are in some serious trouble"

"We know Luna, but at the speed it's traveling it'll be here sooner than we anticipated." Amy tried to be comprehensive. They had lost their leader and princess and now they had to confront some huge threat to all of mankind that was in search of the silver crystal.

"Great, as if we didn't have enough problems." Minako took a sip from her cola; she turned to Rei who was deep in thought. Mamoru and Makoto had yet to arrive at the arcade. The three girls sat around silently in their own thoughts consumed by the prospect of this huge enemy that was surely making its way quickly towards earth when Usagi walked into the arcade. Her blue eyes immediately turned to look at them as she slowly began to walk towards the bar. She tilted her head to the side and watched them, their troubled expressions tugged her curiosity.

Ever since she had kicked them out of her hospital room things with her and the four girls had been a little strained. They tip toed around her and only approached her if she approached them first and even then they had been distant. In some way Usagi regretted having reacted so violently, she knew she had hurt them and she could see it in their eyes every time she tried to start some kind of conversation with them in the last three weeks.

She had learned their names and to be honest each one of them filled her with peace and love. Knowing their names and being around them soothed her. When she had opened her eyes that day it had been the blonde one Minako who was holding her hand, she had been the source of peace that had relaxed her. She missed that contact…in some way, though she couldn't remember any of them she missed them dearly.

Her body moved on its own accord and suddenly she found herself sitting at the booth with the three girls, snapping them out of their thoughts. They were silent as she made herself comfortable, watching, anticipating, wondering what she was doing. Ami looked to Rei who looked at Minako who looked the two girls then they turned back to Usagi who put her hands on the table.

"Ok." Usagi began and she saw the three tense and sit up completely straight. "Why do you all look like you're stuck in quickly sinking sand?" Usagi watched Minako licked her lips, her eyes flashed something that she quickly hid.

"What do you mean?" Rei asked gently, trying desperately not to scare their blonde leader. This was the first time that Usagi approached them without hesitation or without someone forcing her to say hi. She approached them so naturally that they all felt like crying.

"I mean you all look like the end of the world is creeping upon you and you can't figure out how to save the world." Silence, she was greeted with silence and immediately Usagi thought of her dreams. She felt cold and her heart plummeted, could her dreams have some kind of meaning after all? Biting her lower lip she tested the waters. "This wouldn't happen to have something to do with the Silver Crystal right?" she watched the girls eyes open wide and quickly they were communicating silently with each other.

"You know about the Silver Crystal?" Ami asked her voice quivered with hope.

"Not exactly…." Usagi began. "I keep dreaming with this silver crystal. Someone keeps telling me I need to find it." Usagi saw panic in their eyes as she said this

"You don't have it?" Minako asked her voice laced with fear, Usagi shook her head "what do you mean? Where is it?" Her voice hitched in worry.

"It's a broach" Ami said quickly "a little golden broach with wings... you haven't seen it at home?" Usagi thought for a moment, she didn't recall seeing it at all in any moment since she came home.

"No, I haven't" she felt almost like she committed some kind of sin seeing the horrified look on their faces. Just what in the heck was so important about that crystal? "What is it? The silver crystal"

"Doesn't exist," Reí lied looking at her princess "it's a myth, a legend"

"Then why are you all reacting like me not having it is the end of the world?"

"Inside joke..." Minako cut in "sorry we know you wouldn't get it but we reacted a little too naturally. Sorry"

"Don't apologize" Usagi's brows were furrowed "why is it an inside joke?"

"We've known each other since we were 14" Minako's voice was soft, a sad happiness could be heard as she spoke. "You brought all of us together." There was a weak smile on her face, tears began to swell and Usagi felt like the most horrible human being.

"You're so spoiled" Rei laughed wiping her own tears away, catching onto the lie Minako was telling "You used to want to be a princess, you heard the stories of the moon princess and decided that you wanted to be Princess Serenity" her voice quivered "and we accepted you as our princess"

"Yeah... you used to carry a small broach and say we all had to protect it" Minako continued, Ami was silent unable to add to the lie. "I'm sorry we came off a little strong" Minako laughed as if it was all really just a joke. "Actually we look like the world is coming to an end because well….it's almost January 27th…" Minako trailed looking at the girls.

"So?" Usagi arched an eyebrow curiously, still not entirely convinced.

"Haruka's turning twenty-three" Ami said closing her eyes like she had forgotten, Rei pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Who?"

"Uhm, just a friend of ours who is coming from overseas…she asked us to bring you but…well…" Realization dawn on Usagi. Thankfully for Minako this was actually true. Silence fell among them and it was in this moment that Usagi realized they were joined at the table by the most beautiful black cat she had ever seen.

She locked eyes with the black cat, noticing the most peculiar golden crescent on her forehead. She was so small and so petite and so absolutely perfect. 'I miss you' she thought silently and paused. Something deep inside of her recognized this cat as hers. This beautiful little feline was her companion, she was her rock and guide. This cat was her light in the dark, her Luna. A smile crept on her face as her hand reached out instinctively to pet her. Luna pretty much melted at her touch and attention a low purr emitting from her.

"Hello Luna." Usagi whispered as she brought the cat closer, bringing her forehead to the crescent moon on the black cat. Saying her name caused the cat to meow and lick her face affectionately. "I have missed you Luna." She said gently completely forgetting the other three girls who were watching. "Why haven't you come home?" she asked as she embraced Luna, her heart soaring as she brought Luna closer.

"You remember Luna?" Rei asked slowly pulling Usagi out of her thoughts.

"She's mine isn't she" Usagi asked as she looked at Rei "I know because I've missed her." tears starting falling from her eyes as she said this. "I've missed her so much" she felt like celebrating, she wanted burgers and fries and so much chocolate shakes. "I'm going to order food for us!" Usagi announced, giving a last pat to Luna before practically jumping out of the booth "You guys ok with burgers and fries?" the girls nodded "Except you Ami…chicken burger right?" Ami could only nod furiously in surprise, Usagi winked and ran off.

"She remembered I liked chicken burgers…"Ami said with a smile.

"I better call Mamoru and Mako-chan." Rei said digging through her purse. "Shit I left my phone at the temple…" she looked at the two girls.

"No battery…" Minako said lifting her dead phone.

"I lent it to mom since her phone broke last week." Ami explained apologetically.

"And of course Mako-chan's communicator is in the fritz and Luna is working on fixing it" Pouting she began to stand "let me go use the phone in the back." She sounded annoyed and defeated, having to use such an outdated method seriously. She walked towards the back, past Usagi who was eagerly ordering shakes and burgers and some kind of sugary heart attack on a plate, Rei rolled her eyes and smiled. Their princess always so bright and charming, at least that about her had not changed.

It took a few minutes but Rei filled in both Makoto and Mamoru on what had happened. About Ami's discovery of the enemy only being five months out and of Usagi not having the silver crystal. She told them how Usagi sat with them and remembered Luna. They agreed to meet with them in ten minutes before she hung up. She walked out of the back with her head down, hands crossed deep in thought.

This whole situation was so messed up. Usagi not remembering any of them, the enemy being so close and on top of everything else the Legendary Silver Crystal was missing. She felt like all of this was Mamoru's fault even though she knew there was no way he could have caused the accident maybe he could have prevented the fight. That's right they knew of the explosive argument between their prince and princess that took place that night, Mamoru had told them about it. She blamed him still, if they had never fought then she would have never been avoiding him and she would have never gotten in that cab and she would be find.

"Damn stupid Prince." She muttered to herself. It was then that her body collided unceremoniously with the cup of water that had been in Usagi's hand consequently spilling all over her new ruby halter top. There was a brief moment in which the cool temperature of the water froze Rei where she stood as a loud gasp escaped her princess's mouth before she exploded on the poor girl. "Seriously?!" She shouted half frozen, half annoyed. Usagi placed a hand to her ear trying to help herself from Rei's screeching.

"It was an accident." Usagi said half laughing, half serious. Rei's eyes glared as Usagi moved to dry the shirt with napkins.

"This is why I say you can't walk and chew gum at the same time!" she reprimanded her hands on her hips as she looked down at the blonde who was trying to dry her shirt, for some reason Usagi smiled and nodded as if she had heard it a million times over. "So typical of you meatball head." As the words left Rei's lips Usagi froze. She stood completely still as the words echoed in her head over and over, Rei looked down to her eyebrows furrowed for a second before her eyes grew wide "Usagi….?"

The blonde began to tremble where she stood, eyes hazed as her mind warped her through years of memories she had left forgotten. Closing her eyes Usagi could vividly see the moment she meet Rei, beautifully clothed in the white and red robes of her temple.

"Usagi?" Rei gripped her sides trying desperately to help her but having no power to do so.

Usagi's hand ran to her chest, feeling her heart constrict and the air leave her lungs as she plunged into every single memory and emotion that came with it. Rei's words and interactions with her over the years played like a loud record in her mind, her fiery temper scorched her. She could feel the up and down of annoyance, happiness, silliness and love…she loved her so very much. The fights she would have with Rei because she was so clumsy. The love Rei would show in her concern for her wellbeing.

'You're such a klutz meatball head.'

Rei's words at that time were filled with mirth and a sweet sense of annoyance like an older sister talking to her little sister pretending to be mad but just enjoying her. Usagi felt like her head was going to crack open from the surge, she felt out of breathe and gripped onto Rei's shirt as she felt light headed. The memories wouldn't stop assaulting her. There were so many fights, so many laughs, so many times when Rei gave her advice and so many, many times when the older Miko would wrap her arms around Usagi and hold her while she wept.

'I'll always be here for you Princess' Rei cradled Usagi in her arms as she cried, Usagi was tightly gripping onto the fabric of Rei's fuku as she held her.

'Mars!' Usagi cried, having just saved her friend from near death. She had been so panicked at that moment.

Usagi felt heat in the center of her forehead and for a moment Rei watched the bright red symbol of mars laced with the crescent moon appear on Usagi's forehead. She gasped softly as she saw their intertwined symbols flash briefly before it disappeared. The inside of Usagi's body felt as if it didn't' know whether to crumble or levitate, she began to sweat cold and the conflicting sensations of throwing up or fainting over took her. Pain pooled in the center of her abdomen causing her to double over. She felt like she was literally being consumed by fire and then it all stopped and she gasped sharply.

"Usagi!" Rei cried catching the attention of the other three girls who were on their feet and at their leader's side in seconds. Usagi was gripping onto Rei as tightly as Rei was holding her. She was drenched in sweat and slowly she opened her eyes. Her vision was unfocused for a moment and slowly it came into focus and she looked into Rei's dark blue almost royal purple colored eyes; eyes she recognized.

"I'm Okay" she said as she tried to breathe. She was losing consciousness but she fought to stay awake. She wanted to look into Rei's eyes, look into the eyes of someone who was so important to her that she couldn't breathe unless she was there. Her protector…her red star. "I promise I'm okay" her word were weak and they did little to convince Rei that her princess wouldn't collapse at any moment.

"What's wrong?" Minako asked her speaking as if she was speaking to a child, yet Usagi never took her eyes off of Rei.

"Nothing, I promise. Just being a klutz like always." She smiled at Rei. "Besides I can always count on you to have my back."

"What?"

"You said so didn't you?" Usagi smiled "you'd always be here for me." At her words Rei heart tightened in her chest and she yanked Usagi into a hug, holding her steady as he held her and cried. Usagi remembered her! Rei never thought she could ever feel so happy.

"Always." Rei cried as she held her princess who lethargically held her back, laughing softly as her friend cried. "I missed you so much." She wept as she buried her face into Usagi's shoulder.

"I'm sorry." Usagi whispered. The other two girls watched hope in their eyes, hope that they too had been remembered. The doors to the arcade opened and in strolled Mamoru and Makoto who instantly saw the four girls towards the back of the arcade and they made their way quickly in that direction.

"What's going on?" Mamoru asked as he approached them causing Usagi to slowly turn to look at him with the deepest scowl on her face. "You finally realizing your love for women?" he didn't know why he said that maybe it had something to do with the fact that over the last three weeks the only way he could get the beautiful blonde to talk to him was by getting her worked up.

"Stop trying to find ways to excuse your lack of masculine charm Chiba." She spat. "Clearly I like men. Just not you." He grinned at her to hide the pain it caused to hear those words.

"That's just what you like to tell yourself because you know you find me way too attractive." Usagi had to fight against the blush that wanted to creep on her face in order to keep her deadpan expression on her face. She rolled her eyes as Motoki shouted that the burgers were ready. Both her and Rei released each other and began to walk.

She didn't want to scare them but truthfully she wasn't okay, Usagi felt light headed and her body felt like it could collapse from under her at any moment. The others were chatting about something but she couldn't quite focus on what before they were talking about. In fact Usagi was kind of trying to understand the memory where both Rei and she were wearing Sailor Fuku's with Rei completely covered in blood while she wept in her arms.

What had that been? Why had they been dressed like that? What had happened that had been so bad? The more she tried to remember the more her head began to pound and she found herself flashing to a dimly lit living room with a faceless man on the other end of a grey couch.

She felt pain and anguish in that space with the couch. Her heart was breaking as she looked at the faceless man. She wanted to run away and never experience this kind of heart break but she stood firmly.

"Something's changed."

It was her own voice that said this, her own voice that was searching for an answer to the pain. The sound of muffled laughter was vaguely heard as the memory began to distort.

They were teasing Makoto about something that Mamoru had said as they reached the booth, all of them laughing completely oblivious to Usagi's internal struggle. All of them over joyed because some kind of progress had been made and there was also the prospect of food.

"She totally hit the pole looking at that guy" Mamoru said with a laugh as Usagi's hand reached out and took hold of his warmer, larger hand.

Mamoru looked down as Usagi's hand fell into his and he turned to look at her curiously. His heart skipped a beat when he realized how pale and cold she felt. Stopping he put his hand on her shoulder abruptly bringing her out of her thoughts. She looked at him with confusion as she realized her hand was in his and she miserably yanked her hand away from his.

"Don't touch me" she hissed and he ignored her as he moved to lift her up bridal style. She wanted to protest; honestly she did, but she felt so weak at the moment. "Don't-"

"Shut up" he cut her off as he caught her head with his shoulder, she was barely looking at him.

"I don't like you" she whispered as her hands came around his neck and she made herself comfortable in his arms.

"I know" by now the girls had all stopped talking and watched them. "You keep saying that" he answered in a teasing manner.

"Because it's true" Usagi's voice was barely a whisper.

"Then why are you holding onto me so tightly?" He whispered in her ear as her eyes closed.

"I don't know" there was a brief pause "take me home Mamo-chan" was the last thing that left her mouth before she passed out. Mamoru looked at her unable to process the joy he felt at having heard her say that name. He looked over to the girls as he held her.

"What happened?" He asked turning to Rei as they all crowded him. "She's completely drained" he held her tightly against his chest.

"I don't know….her forehead had the Mars sign on it earlier." She whispered all eyes on the princess who was out cold

Okay the way Usagi rememberis Rei has changed as will a lot of things. Keep looking out for more changes.
